Corey’s POV

“Pretty sure vodka isn’t a type of food, Frank!” Eloise said.

Well, here we are. Last month of senior year! I look around and see everyone and think, what happened? We were all so small just a few years ago and now we’ve changed.

Like, for example, Brooklyn used to bake cookies for everyone in kindergarten. Now she cooks edibles for the stoners. Dexter was a bit of a Power Rangers freak, and now he’s varsity in baseball. And Cassidy, who was afraid of sliding down the slide. And now she slides down- doesn’t matter.

The truth is, everyone is now someone different.

“Corey! Is everything in check?” Eloise asked me. I scanned over my papers. Caprisuns? Check! Blankets? Check! Snacks? Check! Onesies? Check check!!

“Yeppers!” I confirmed.

“Excellent. You’re such a great class president!” Eloise patted my brown wavy hair.

“Everyone is coming, right?” I asked.

“Yeah. We even got Aisha to skip her pilates workout she always brags about.” Eloise said.

Tonight is the Senior Sunset. It’s an end of the year event for seniors where we all come together on the football field and watch the sunset together. There’s games, snacks, and a place to make memories.

I looked around the room of our English class, trying to think of anyone we missed.

Then I saw him. The kid in the corner of the class. The one who’s always quiet. The one who never talks and is never talked to.

“What about Damion?” I asked, referring to the mysterious fellow in the shadows.

“Uh-uh. Now way!” Frank said.

“Why? He’s a part of our graduating class!” I said.

“Little man, it’s Damion! Y’know, the 6’2 guy who could easily bend you in half! The one who just stopped talking to everyone three years ago. I even heard he fights for money cause of the bruises on his hands.” Kaden said. I rolled my eyes.

“Sure he looks scary, but I’m sure the whole street fighting thing is just a rumor. I’m inviting him.” I said.

“But-” Frank tried to add.

“No! As class president, it is my job to ensure all seniors have a fun last year at our school. I’m inviting Damion and that’s final! Any objections?” I asked our group. Everyone shook their heads. Once again, I’ve asserted my dominance.

“Okay… but if he snaps and kills one of us, it’s on you!” Ryker said.

“I’ll make sure he doesn’t.” I said.

While everyone talked and discussed the event, I couldn’t help but look at Damion. He does look kinda scary. He’s tall, and who could miss those large biceps and muscles on his body. He has eye bags, probably from lack of sleep. And his knuckles are painted with new wounds that were on the verge of breaking open again.

But most of all, he looks sexy. His shaved face, his black hair, jet black might I add. His head was down to make sure he didn’t look at anyone. But I looked at him. But not once did he look up.

The bell rang. I packed all my books and said goodbye to everyone. I turned and ran after Damion. He overshadowed my 5’8 frame.

“DAMION!” I yelled. He didn’t turn so I yelled his name again. Only after the fifth call and making myself look crazy did he finally turn.

“I was talking to you!” I panted.

“What do you need?” He spoke in a dark and commanding voice. My legs shivered, from being scared and slightly turned on.

“Are you going to the Senior Sunset?” I asked.

“No.” He said. He darted his eyes to the exit and looked like something was going on in his mind. Kinda like an internal conflict.

“Well, you’re coming. Like, right now!” I said.

“But-” He tried to speak.

“No buts! This is our senior year. Let’s have some fun!” I said. I began to tug on the hem of his black and tight fitting shirt.

“Come on, big guy! It’ll be fun!” I said. I struggled to move him. He just stayed in place and muttered ‘30 minutes’ and then sighed. He followed me, but made sure to groan to show his annoyance.

“There’s gonna be alcohol…” I added. I could now feel him walking a bit faster.

“I don’t have a say in any of this, huh?” He asked.

“OH! You spoke a whole sentence!” I said.

“Mmm.” He growled.

“No, you don’t. I am your class president! Might as well say Mr. President and salute me!” I said.

“How about Mr. Annoying.” He mumbled. I let a small laugh out.

“So he makes jokes too!” I said.

I finally let go of his shirt and he walked alongside me. A lot of people gave us weird looks. I mean, it’s just the class president walking with the tallest, strongest, and quietest person. Nothing to be concerned about.

“I just have to warn you, my friends are very annoying.” I said.

“Makes sense why they’re your friend.” He said.

“Anyways,” I rolled my eyes. “Just act normal!” I said.

“Would that be before or after they run away from me?” He asked. I rubbed his strong arms.

“They won’t run away, I’ll make sure of it.” I said. He mumbled and followed me, hesitantly.

2: He Doesn’t Know He Saved Me

Damion’s POV

30 minutes.

That’s how long I have.

I waited until the bell rang and raced out.

I have 30 minutes to get home and set everything up before my mom comes home.

I only have today to do it. I want to be at home when it happens.

That was the plan.

But then this little shit decided to use me as a charity case and bring me along to an event our class is having.

I’m not oblivious to how people perceive me. Their rumors are completely quixotic. But will I dispute them? No. Let them fear me.

“Hey guys!” Corey said to his friends. They were placed in the middle of the field, where everyone could see us.

“Corey! And, Damion?” One of them said. Everyone looked at me like I was going to fight them.

I don’t know why, but everywhere I go, I give off this aura that people think I want to fight them. Which is true. I want to scratch your eyes out. But I wouldn’t actually hurt you.

“Guys, this is Damion. Damion, this Eloise, Frank, Kaden, Ryker, Marina, Amir, and Himari.” Some of them waved at me while others just stared at me. I just realized it’s because I tower over them and they’re the same size as Corey.

“Hi! Come on and join us!” One of them said. She was Asian and motioned for me to be next to her.

“Wait! We need to find you a onesie!” Corey said.

“A what!” I said a bit loudly. Corey shivered but then turned to me.

“A onesie! Duh! Eloise, do we have any extra ones!” He yelled at a girl.

“That’s not necessary-” I tried to tell Eloise

“I think so.” She searched through a box “This is the biggest one we have.” She said. She held up a bright pink unicorn onesie.

“I’m not wearing that.” I said.

“Oh, but you are. Here,” Corey threw it at me. “Put it on, NOW!” He said. He’s like a chihuahua. Small and shakes a lot but has a loud and yappy voice.

I sighed, wondering what I did to get into this situation. I put on the onesie, which was a bit small. I turned to Corey and showed him how I look while keeping an annoyed expression on my face.

“I’m gonna kill you.” I whispered yelled at him. He blushed when he looked at me and trailed his eyes up and down my body.

“LET’S SIT!” Corey said to break the weird tension.

30 minutes.

30 minutes have now passed at this point.

Dammit!

“You okay?” The Asian girl asked me.

“I’m fine!” I snapped. “Sorry.” I muttered when I saw she jolted back.

“It’s fine. I’m Himari, Mari for short.” She said.

“Damion.” I said.

“So, Damion. How’d you let Corey bring you here?”

“Have you seen that little fucker?” I said. We turned to look at him while he stuffed his face with cookies. “Do you really think I wanted to come here?” I asked.

“No, but it’s great to see you here. I’ve been betting on the day Damion would come out.” She said.

“Everything okay over here?” Corey asked. He had crumbs of cookies on his face and on the neck of his onesie.

“It was.” I said. Mari giggled.

“Hey, Damion,” Corey put his hands on my broad shoulder. He sunk his fingernails. “I’m glad you’re here. Seriously. I just want you to have fun.” He said.

“Thanks, I guess.” I spoke deeply.

“Guys! Picture time!” Someone said. The sunset was at a perfect moment.

“Damion, right here!” Corey said. He motioned for me to sit next to him, in the middle of the large group of people.

I went to sit next to him, tugging at the hood of my pink unicorn onesie.

“Smile! Three… two… one!” A bright flash of light. I didn’t smile. But I made sure I put on a friendly face which differed from my stoic and pissed face.

“Great! I hope you’re having fun.” Corey said to me.

“A bit.” I responded and he cheered.

30 minutes have long passed at this point.

Which, I guess I should be happy about.

Today I was going to kill myself and needed those 30 minutes to end it all.

But then Corey came and prevented me from killing myself.

Nobody knew I was going to do it today.

If it wasn’t for Corey, I would not be here, breathing and wearing a unicorn outfit.

And Corey doesn’t know. He doesn’t know he saved me.

bye! i love you all!

3: Lunch Is On Me, Amigo

Corey’s POV

I sat in third period and saw Damion from across the room. He sat at his desk, located all the way in the back of the class. I saw his knuckles bleeding through their bandages.

“Dude, you’re basically undressing him with your eyes.” Eloise whispered in my ear.

“No I’m not!” I said.

“Not judging, I’d hit that too if I wasn’t with Jenny.” She said.

“I’m gonna invite him to join us for lunch.” I looked at him and remembered how he looked in that pink unicorn onesie yesterday. A small blush came on my face. The ferocious and scary Damion looking like a cute puppy.

The bell rang and everyone left. I waited outside the class for Damion. He walked out and slung his bag over his shoulder. He wore a tight long sleeve, fitting very tight on his muscular body. I felt turned on.

“Hey, Damion.” I said. He stopped in his tracks and stood in front of me.

“Hmm.” He responded. I knew I had his attention.

“Wanna have lunch with me- us!” I said.

“No.” He began to walk away.

“DAMION!” I groaned. “Please? Just today!” I pleaded at him and used my puppy eyes. He looked into my eyes and stared into my eyes for a second before he looked away.

“Just this once.” He mumbled. I jumped and hugged his tight torso. He groaned angrily when I touched him.

“Sorry, come on! It’s pizza day!” I said.

“Actually, I don’t…” I stopped and turned around.

“You don’t what?” I asked.

“I don’t have any money on hand.” He looked embarrassed. I wanted to rub his hair to comfort him.

“Don’t sweat it. Lunch is on me, amigo! I’m rich…” I held out my $20 in my hand.

“Thank you.” He whispered.

“What’s that? I didn’t hear it.” I joked.

“I’m not saying it again.”

“Hmm. Fine. Hurry up. Lunch is waiting for us!” I said. I skipped down the hall. Damion was able to walk alongside me because of his large legs.

We entered the cafeteria and made our way to the lunch line. A lot of people moved out of the way because right next to me is the most feared person. I turned and saw him giving people angry looks.

“Can you try to look happy?” I whispered in his ear.

“How can I be happy when there’s people here?” He answered back.

We got into the line and got food. We made our way to my table where all my friends sat.

“Got room for one more?” I said. Eloise nodded and everyone scooted over to allow Damion to sit next to me.

“Hi Damion.” Himari said. He nodded at her. I think he likes her.

“The sunset was a success last night. I’ve submitted the photos for the yearbook.” Kaden said.

“Sounds great.” I leaned into Kaden. “Make sure you use the picture with Damion for the center.” I whispered in his ear. He nodded.

“So, Damion. Any fights?” Frank asked bluntly.

“No. Why?” He said. He chewed on his pizza.

“Y’know, cause of your knuckles.” Frank said. Damion looked down at his knuckles and clenched his fist.

“Don’t worry about it.” He responded.

“How come you never eat in the cafeteria?” Himari asked.

“Because I can’t stand people.” He said.

“So what about Corey?” She asked.

“I tolerate him.” He said. I blushed and Eloise nudged my shoulder.

“Are you gay?” Amir asked, being the blunt one of the group.

“I guess.” Damion said. My stomach dropped. Everyone’s faces were shocked. This hunk of a guy is into guys. Holy shit! Maybe I can have a shot!!

“Cool. I’m cool with it. I support the LGTV+ community.” Amir said.

“Dumbass. It’s LGBTQ+!!” Ryker slapped Amir’s head. We all laughed and Damion let out a deep chuckle. It was faint but I think everyone heard it because of how deep it was.

Damion rubbed his wrist a bit, almost like he had some sort of discomfort.

“Is your wrist okay?” I asked into his ear.

“It’s fine.” Damion said. I could hint the lie in his tone.

I got a much closer look at his face. He has the most verdant and brightest green eyes I have ever seen. I think if he smiled more or was more friendly his eyes wouldn’t look so threatening. I just want to reach out and cut my finger on his jawline.

“I can feel you staring at me.” Damion said a bit loudly. Some people turned to look at me with smirks on their faces. The blush on my face only made it worse. Fuck! They probably know I like Damion.

“Sorry. I-I didn’t mean to.” I stuttered out.

“It’s fine.” Damion said. I just decided to shut up and eat my pizza.

Overall, lunch was great. I felt like I accomplished something by making Damion come out of his shell more. I can feel a sharp friendship coming from Damion and Himari. It might be because Damion reminds her of her older brother. Himari’s older brother looks like Damion, just if he was Asian.

The bell rang and it was time for fourth period.

Without saying anything, Damion got my tray and threw our trash away. He then went to stand next to me and slung his bag over his shoulder.

“Lead the way, captain.” He said.

4: Cats + Library = Cat Library

Damion’s POV

“Can you come with me somewhere after school?” The little creature asked me. He looked up at me with puppy eyes. I won’t ever tell him, but he looks so precious with them. I couldn’t say no.

“Sure.”

“Awesome!” He said. He tugged on my long sleeve that I began wearing to- doesn’t matter.

“Slow down.” I sternly said. I could easily catch up to his speed but I want to take a slow walk with Corey.

“Can’t. We gotta get there quickly.” He said.

I decided to just let him do what he wants to me. I can’t argue with this kid. It’s like his personality is sucking me in and making me do things I would’ve never done before.

First it was going to a school event. Then it was going to lunch. And now hanging out with someone else after school.

We walked out of school and down the street. A few minutes later, we stopped in front of a large building. It was a tall building with a collegiate gothic look, like an old university. I tiled my head.

“What is this place?” I asked.

“You’ve never been here before?” He asked.

“If I had, I wouldn’t have asked.” I raised an eyebrow.

“Okay. So this place is hella cool. So, take a library,” He made motions with his hands that began to confuse me. “But combine it with a cats. And BAM! You’ve got a cat library!” He looked way too excited.

“Cool.” I said. In reality, I’m kinda shaking in excitement. I fucking love cats and want to touch one. And in a library, where it’s nice and quiet? Sign me up!

“Let’s go in!” Corey walked up the steps.

He opened the door and walked in. I followed close behind and looked around.

I saw large shelves full of books, some like old Oxford books. There was a table with many computers. Tables and bean bags chairs. A lounge to sit in.

Okay, now just add a bunch of cats everywhere. That’s how it looks.

“Want to check out a book?” Corey asked.

“No. I want to touch the cat.” I said while eyeing the felines around me.

“Same! Follow me. I know a good spot!” He said. I followed him and he led me to a set of stairs. We climbed up and it was a much comfier looking lounge area. I turned and Corey pushed my chest and I fell down and landed on a comfy chair.

“Now just wait.” He said. He sat next to me and also waited.

A few minutes went by and nothing. But then I heard a meow.

“Oh look!” Corey pointed to a calico cat. It strutted (like a bad bitch) and made its way over to us. I held my breath when it jumped on my lap and got comfortable on me.

“Aww. Look at that! Odette never sits on anyone!” Corey said. I looked down at the precious animal and scratched behind its ear. It purred and rubbed its small head against my larger hands

I almost forgot the pain in my wrist for a moment.

“Do you want to read a book?” He asked.

“Nah. I’m good.” I said. Corey got up and grabbed himself a book. I was too distracted by Odette to focus on anything else.

Minutes passed and I still rubbed Odette’s head and ear. And not once did Odette move. I felt my eyes begin to become heavy and slowly, Odette and I fell into a deep sleep. The chair combined with the quiet and the cat (and the presence of Corey) relaxed me into a nice sleep.

A slowly awoke to the sound of clicking. I opened my eyes but closed them to avoid the dim lights. I fully opened my eyes and saw Corey standing in front of me taking pictures of me.

“What for?” I asked.

“Oh! You’re awake.” He said. He took one more picture and put his phone away.

“You didn’t answer my question.” I said. Odette was still in my lap and snored lightly.

“You and Odette just looked so cute together.” He said. He pulled out his phone and showed me a picture. I look good as hell and so did Odette.

I turned to see Corey smiling at me. He had a pair of twin orange cats on both sides of him. They laid their heads on his lap.

“You look cute too.” I blurted out.

“Wait, WHAT!?” He said.

“Nothing!” I said quickly. I didn’t know I said that outloud.

“Tell me what you said or I’ll post this picture right now!” Corey said.

“It was nothing!” I pleaded. Odette woke up and was staring intently at Corey, like she sensed I was having a squabble with him.

“Tell me what you said, Damion.” He said. I sighed. Like I said, this fucker makes me do things I would never do.

“I said you looked cute.” I said lowly. I felt a blush creep on my face.

“Thanks.” Corey smiled at me and leaned in to give me a quick kiss on my cheek.

My blush was now harder. I rubbed that part of my face. A spot of warmth lingered and the feeling of his lips was still there. Corey just turned and read his book like nothing happened.

As we left the cat library, I still couldn’t get that kiss out of my head. Like a new world of emotions flooded me.

I thought back a few days ago when I wanted to kill myself. And now, I feel grateful Corey distracted me from going through with it. Because then I wouldn’t have begun to feel the happiness I am feeling. I’m still struggling with finding a purpose and I won’t lie, I still hurt. It’s not like my nihilism will just go away immediately.

But I look down at Corey who was humming silently and think of how happy he makes me.

And I thought, he’s the reason I’m living.

5: Alcohol And Therapy Are The Same

Corey’s POV

I enjoyed being with the cats. And Damion. I laid in my bed on a Saturday and scrolled through my phone.

Message from Eloise : So what’s the deal with you and Damion?

Message to Eloise : Nothing. We’re just hanging out…

Message from Eloise : Mmhmm. Sure. What did you two do on Thursday when you took him away?

Message to Eloise : We went to the cat library.

I scrolled and found the picture of a sleeping and calm Damion with a cat on his lap and sent it to her.

Message from Eloise : NO WAY! THAT’S HIM?!?!? HE LOOKS SO CUTE!!!

Message to Eloise : That’s what I said. He also said I looked cute too!

I blushed at the memory of that.

Message from Eloise : AWWW! HE LIKES YOU!! U SHOULD ASK HIM OUT!!!!!!

Message to Eloise : Ya think? I think I might ask him out.

I got up from my bed and decided to visit Damion’s house. How do I know his address? I may or may not have gone through his file at school. Just to be safe.

I left my house and walked to his house. As I walked to his way, I began to notice I was walking into the run down and poorer part of town. Shanty houses and trap houses were everywhere. I felt unsafe and walked faster.

I came up to his house. I noticed it looked run down with dead grass and trash in the yard. This is where he lives?

I knocked on his door and waited for a while. I heard fumbling from behind the door and something being knocked over. The door opened and there stood Damion.

A drunk looking Damion.

“Wh-what do you want, Corey.” He slurred.

“Damion? Why are you drunk? And why do you smell like that?” I asked. I scrunch my nose at him and saw the inside of his home. It was a mess. Bottles of alcohol littered the floor, blankets and pillows tossed and turned.

“Wh-why do you care?” He hiccuped. “Ju-just l-leave me alone! GOD!” He left the entrance and entered his house, leaving the door open. I entered and followed him inside. The house looks even worse.

“WAIT! DAMION!” I said I grabbed his wrist and he winced.

“OW! FUCKER!” He said. He held his wrist. I looked down at my hand and saw it had blood.

“Damion.” He ignored me. “DAMION!” I screamed.

“WHAT!?” He turned and had anger and annoyance in his eyes. I jolted back but walked closer to him. He just stared at me but calmed down when I softly touched his arm.

“Can I please see your arm?” I asked. He held out his arm and I took a look at it.

There were cuts on it, many looked old. And some new. They looked like they were done today.

I teared up a bit, seeing just how hurt Damion was. Was he always suffering this much? How could I not notice? I’m a horrible person!

“No you’re not.” Damion said. I guess I said that outloud. “You are amazing, Corey. You’re a great friend. I’m honestly shocked you’re wasting your time with me.” He laughed at the end. But it was a dead laugh.

“I’m not wasting my time. You’re a really great person to be around. You may be stubborn and angry, but I see through that.” I hugged him and sobbed into his chest. Damion placed his chin on my head and I heard him sniffle.

“Why do you cut?” I asked.

“I just hate my life.” He said. I pulled away and stared at him.

“But what exactly? What in your life is making you hate your life?” I pleaded.

“You wouldn’t understand. You have a perfect life. My worries are something you’ll never understand.” He said and looked away.

“You’re right. I might not understand, but you don’t have to suffer alone!” I pleaded at him.

“Just forget it! It doesn’t even matter.”

“No. Please. I can help! Just tell me what you need. I’ll always be here!” I said.

“You can’t always be here. You aren’t God. One day you’ll see I’m not worth the time and leave me like everyone else in my life has done.”

“Damion…” I pleaded.

“Just leave. I already have all the help I need!” He took a swing of his alcohol.

“STOP! DRINKING!” I slammed the bottle out of his hand. It crashed on the floor and shattered. “You can get therapy. Anything but drinking!”

“Alcohol and therapy are the same thing for me!”

“That’s pathetic and you know it!” I screamed back.

“Whatever. The door is open, close it on your way out.” He turned.

“NO! I’m not leaving!”

“Can you ever listen to anyone but yourself!? You only do what you want to do!” Damion said to me and balled his fists.

“You’ll have to get rid of me using force, cause I’m not leaving.” I said. Damion began to walk furiously up to me.

“WHY YOU LITTLE-”

He cut himself off when he grabbed me and kissed me on my lips.

What the actual fuck!

bye! i love you all!

6: A Mistake I Don’t Regret

Damion’s POV

I held his face in my hands and kissed his soft lips.

The pain in my wrist seeped away. I grabbed his face and clamped my fingers to grab his soft brown hair. I closed my eyes and let out a groan.

I pulled my lips away and started kissing him again. I rubbed my tongue on his lips. He hesitated but I grabbed his ass. He squealed, allowing an entrance for my tongue to slip in his mouth. He gasped but then his tongue danced with mine.

For those minutes, I forgot my pain. I forgot my worries. I forgot the world.

“You’re the only good thing in my life.” I said to Corey. I held his face in my hands.

“You’re just saying that.” He blushed and looked away from me.

“No, I’m not. I’m serious, Corey. The only reason I’m still here is because I can wake up and know I can see you.” I said.

I’ve decided enough is enough. I’m allowing myself to be vulnerable to Corey. I let tears fall down my eyes.

“I’m sorry you think that you have nothing else to live for.” He hugged my torso tightly.

I hugged him back and cried into him. I’m finally showing someone else just how much I’m broken.

“We need to clean your bandages.” He said.

“There’s a first aid kit under the sink in the kitchen.” I said. He left me and went to get the box, which was barely a first aid kit.

“I’ll stop drinking if you want me to.” I said as I sat in a chair and let Corey kneel beside me to fix my wrist.

“That’ll be nice.” He said. He sniffled a bit.

“And I’ll stop cutting.” I said.

“Please do. I can’t imagine seeing you hurt.” He said. “Why didn’t you ever tell me? I thought we were friends or at least something similar.” He said and wrapped a bandage on my wrist.

“I didn’t want to bother you.”

“You could never bother me. If you ever feel like cutting, just talk to me. Or think of me.” He kissed my cuts softly.

“I like you, Corey. A lot. It was only recently that I found out.”

“I like you too, Damion.” A silence fell upon us as we sat with our feelings exposed.

“It scares me, Corey. That now I have someone I care for.” I stopped and shuddered a deep breath. “I don’t want you to leave me.”

“I’m not ever going to leave you, Damion. Why would you think that?” He cupped my face.

“Cause everyone else in my life has left me.”

“I’m not everyone else. I truly care for you.” I kissed him again.

“I don’t regret kissing you.” I said.

“Me neither.”

“It might not seem like the right time, but I’d like for us to go on a date.” I said. I rubbed my neck.

“I’d love that, Damion.” He gave me a huge smile, one full of selfless love. “Now, how about we clean this place up.” He stood up and looked around my house in disarray.

“Sure.”

We spent the next two hours cleaning every part of my house. I would steal glances at Corey, my heart fluttering when I see him.

“How did your house get to this state?” He asked when we sat on the couch, which I just realized is a nice leather brown.

“Umm…” I coughed. “I sorta got drunk and just started throwing things. Kinda puched the wall there.” I lied a bit. I signaled to the brick wall which has a blood splatter.

“Is that why you’re knuckles are always bleeding?” He asked. That’s probably why people think I fight illegally for money.

“Yeah. Sorry.” I said.

“Why did you get drunk?” He asked.

“Umm…”

‘You ruined my life! Everything was perfect. But you just had to be born like that!’

‘I wish you were never born!’

‘I can’t wait until you leave so I never have to be reminded of you!’

“I guess I was just angry and needed to feel something.” I lied again.

Corey sat on my lap and kissed me. He slipped his tongue in my mouth. For a little guy (5’8 piece of sugar and everything good in the world), he sure is hectic when it comes to mouth-to-mouth contact.

He split away from me, holding my face in his tiny hands.

“Did you feel something from that?” He asked.

I shifted and tried to not let him feel my hard dick in my pants. But instead, he planted his ass on my dick harder. I let out a small groan at the sudden friction and pleasure.

“Mmm definitely.” I said. I put my hands on his hips, wanting to keep him in place.

“Well I’m glad. Better than alcohol.” He said. I thrusted up on him, wanting to feel more of this.

“WOAH WOAH WOAH! Hey! Take it easy. I still have my v-card.” He said but didn’t stop shaking his ass on my dick.

“Keep moving like that and not for long…” I leaned into him and sucked on his neck.

“Mmm. Damion.” He moaned. I enjoyed that I had the ability to make someone else feel like this.

“I should get going.” He said. He got off my lap. I made no effort to hide my bulge. I just let him stare wide-eyed at it.

“You sure? Is there any way I can convince you to stay?” I said.

“I’m not some cheap dollar slut. You want this…” He motioned to his body. “Then you gotta take me on a date.”

“Promise?” I asked with hopeful eyes.

“Geez, when did you become a horndog?” He sighed. “I promise.”

“Fine. I’ll escort you out.” I said. I walked him to the exit and gave him one last kiss.

We said goodbye. I wish he didn’t go. I just want to spend more time with him.

bye! i love you all!

7: Make A Wish Or Two

Corey’s POV

Damion and I met up after school and began walking in a different direction.

“Where are we going?” I asked him. He kept his eyes forward, making sure to give off a threatening aura. But I know he’s actually a softie on the inside who’s been hurt and is still hurting.

“Somewhere I really enjoy.” He turned to look down at me with his forest-green eyes. “I know you’ll like it too.”

“I’m hungry!” I clutched my stomach as it growled.

“Well, we’re going to a diner so you’ll get to eat. Unless you want something else to eat…”

“Pervert.” I giggled. After walking for a while, realizing we should have taken a car or bikes, we reached a small diner by the outskirts of town. I read the diner name ‘Make A Wish’.

“Why is it called Make A Wish?” I asked.

“Because they have a wishing well behind it.”

“Cool. Can we check it out?” I asked, wanting to possibly make a wish for myself.

“Sure. But only after we eat.” Damion opened the door for me and I entered first.

I took a look around the diner. It was small, probably only 15 people could sit here at a time. The whole aesthetic of the place reminds me of 80’s Americana but if it was run down for a few decades. I began to wonder why this place is so important to Damion.

“Sit. I’ll go get us food.” Damion said. I sat in a booth with a clear view outside. I admired Damion as he went towards the front counter. I heard a voice say ‘DAMION’ and sounded like they’ve known each other for a long time.

“That guy sure knew who you were…” I said when Damion sat in front of me.

“Yeah, he’s like an old family friend.” He scratched his head, like there was more to that story.

We talked a bit. Or, I talked while Damion listened to me intently. There was nothing in the world that could take those green eyes off of me. The waiter came to drop off our food. Getting a good look at it, it reminded me of food you would get at one of those old fashioned diners located off any highway in the middle of nowhere.

“MMM.” I savored and moaned in delight. Damion shot me a knowing glare. “This is so good!”

“I knew you’d like it.” He said.

“So why is this place so special to you?” I asked him. He sighed.

“Our family used to come here a lot. We had dinner here every Friday night. That was before… nevermind. I guess I just like coming here cause it reminds me of those fun times.” I reached over and grabbed his hand.

“I bet you miss those moments.” I said.

“Very much. Nothing I can do to bring it back.” He said.

“Why not make a wish? You said there was a wishing well. Let’s go and bring back your halcyon days!” I cheered.

“You’re too good for me.” He shook his head and giggled deeply. He stood up and led me outside. He walked around the diner and I was met with a very old but very fairy-tale looking wishing well.

It was out of cobblestones and even had a bucket and everything! Wicked!

I pulled two quarters and handed one to Damion.

“Let’s make a wish, or two!” I said. I went first and threw my coin in.

‘I wish for more time with Damion.’

I turned to see Damion threw his coin in, probably wishing to have more time with his family. I’m fine with him wishing to be with family. If he misses time with his family, I don’t want to get in the way with that.

Our coins, now gone and holding our most desired thoughts, landed at the bottom of the well, awaiting to come true.

“What’d you wish for?” I asked him.

“Can’t say, or it’ll never come true.” He said, We hugged each other, side to side, admiring the well.

Just like a fairy-tale story.

8: Mama Doesn’t Love Me

Damion’s POV

I’d been dating Corey for a few weeks at this point. I can proudly say that we’re officially boyfriends. No one dared to speak against us, unless they wanted to be snapped in half. There’s nothing I love more than walking down the hall holding Corey’s tiny hands in my much larger hands.

And the amount of times I so badly wanted to pin him against the wall and choke him with one hand while the other jerks him off… with his consent of course.

I entered my home after a fun day with Corey and Himari, whom I now consider my best friend.

Upon seeing the state of the house, I saw it was trashed. For a moment, I thought someone had broken in and stolen our stuff.

“MOM?!” I yelled. Truth is, I didn’t even know if mom was home.

I looked at the coffee table and saw bags of white powder, a spoon, lighter, and syringe. Everything clicked and I immediately knew my mom was high right now.

The sound of stumbling items made me look towards the hallway. Mom stumbled out, he black greasy hair a mess, her clothes tattered and ripped. And most of all, her inner elbow covered in little dots.

“Why the hell are you here, faggot?!” She spat at me. I noticed a bottle of alcohol in her hands.

“Mom. Sit down. Please.” I lowered my voice. I made sure to always deign my voice so she doesn’t get angry at me. But no matter what, she’ll always be angry at me.

“Why the hell did we have you?!” She stumbled her way closer to me.

“Y-you’re not well, mom. Sit.” I said. Mom picked up a glass bottle and threw it at me. I ducked and it just barely missed me.

“Don’t tell me what to do! This is all your fault!” She screamed at me.

“It’s your fault that your father left! If you hadn’t came out as a faggot, we would still be a normal family! You’re a disgusting faggot!” She stumbled on the floor. I went to pick her up.

“Don’t fucking touch me, faggot!” She pushed me away.

“Mom?” My voice quivered.

“You’re my biggest mistake! You know that?!” She took a swing from her bottle.

“Mom! Stop it! Please!” I begged her to stop yelling at me. For fuck’s sake, she’s my mother! The person I’m supposed to go to for love and compassion.

“I’ve had it with you! Everytime I look at you, I only think of what my life would be like if Harold and I didn’t have you!” She screamed.

“No, mom. We’re not doing this today.” I sobbed silently.

“Get out of my house! NOW! I don’t ever want to see you here again! Ya hear me?! OUT, FAG!” She screamed and began to punch me.

Despite me being almost twice her size, and her just insulting me and kicking me out of the only home I’ve known, I still held some sort of attachment to her. So I didn’t hit back. I took her punches until I went to my room.

I began packing my clothes, which were very little. I barely had any picture of my family, since they were all burned by mom after dad left us and didn’t want the responsibility of looking after a ‘sinner child’.

I ran out the house, looking back and saying one last final goodbye to an unconscious mom. I closed the door and turned away.

I can’t call Corey. I’ve asked too much of him. He’s already giving me his attention and love. I can’t possibly ask him for a huge favor. No. Corey deserves better than me.

Corey deserves to be with someone who isn’t always on the verge of death. Someone who he knows he can wake up to and know they’re still alive. Someone who isn’t so intimidating that they scare off everyone else.

I don’t deserve him. Just like how I don’t deserve to live.

I walked over the overpass and looked down.

And everything began to plan in my head.

I’m sorry, Corey.

I’m so so sorry.

I love you, Corey…

9: Please Don’t Leave!

trigger warning for this chapter…

Corey’s POV

I noticed a change in Damion’s mood. He was void of happiness. A part of me began to worry he was falling out of love with me. But it was selfish of me to think that. Damion has other demons in his life. And when the time comes, he’ll tell me.

Hopefully not too late.

“Aww you look so handsome!” I awed at the picture of Damon in his suit for his senior portrait. He once again had his angry face but when ignoring that, his green eyes glowed and his black raven hair curled over his face.

“I didn’t even want to take that photo.” He said. “Can I borrow your book?” He asked nervously. I handed him my book and continued walking. I heard the sound of cars from a nearby highway.

I turned and saw Damion writing something in my yearbook. But his hands were shaking.

“Are you okay, Dame?” I asked.

“I’m fine.” He said. He didn’t stop writing so I let him continue doing his thing.

“Here you go.” Dame handed me my book back closed.

“Check this out!” I said. I turned the pages and landed on the section for senior events.

There were many pictures plastered on the page from other events. The one in the middle had the picture we took at the senior sunset.

I made sure to pick this photo so Damion could be seen by everyone. He had a slightly less angrier scowl on his face. Meanwhile I smiled brightly next to him, like Damion’s direct antithesis.

“I made it in?” He asked. He held my hand next to his, once again, his hands shaking.

“Yeah, silly! I told them to add you in.” I said. I looked over the picture and saw everyone in my life who mattered closest to me. And that especially means Damion.

“And look at this!” I flipped the page.

There was a picture of Damion and I that I took of us on one of our dates.

The caption read ‘Best Couple’.

A huge blush and tears were settled on Damion’s face.

“Wha- How?” He asked, his voice croaking.

“Cause people like you!” I teased him.

“But I thought everyone was scared of me.” I hugged my crying giant’s side.

“But then you showed people that you’re human. When people saw how much you cared for me and protected me, yes people feared you, but they came to like you more too!” I kissed his cheek.

Damion started to cry at this point. I just held him close to me.

After he was done, he stood up and gave me a huge kiss.

But this kiss feels like a goodbye kiss.

“I have to do something quickly.” He said, pressing his forehead against mine. “Wait right here.” He said.

“Okay. Don’t be too gone! I already miss you.” I said.

“I already miss you too.” He said. He gave me one last kiss and walked away to the direction of a concrete path.

I sat on the bench, looking through the yearbook and smiling, cause life is amazing! I reached the page where Damion wrote something in black pen.

I decided to read it while waiting for Damion.

’Corey,

By the time you’re reading this, I’ll already be dead.’

What?! Wait! No! No no no…

‘I met you a few weeks ago and they have been the best weeks of my life. I cherished every moment we spent, every kiss we exchanged, and every love we shared. I love you, Corey. And I’m so sorry I won’t ever get to say it to you. You deserve to be with someone who you can rely on. Don’t live your life with me. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be okay. Especially since I know that I was able to date such an amazing person like you. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I’ve noticed I smiled more with you. And that I’m capable of love. I’m so sorry.’

FUCK FUCK FUCK! NO!!!!!

‘With great love, Damion.’

I slammed the book down, adrenaline coursing through my veins.

“DAMION!” I cried out. “DAMION! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!” I yelled. I remembered the overpass and the sound of cars.

I ran as fast as I could and reached it. There, I saw a crying Damion leaning against the edge of the overpass, ready to fall.

“DAMION, STOP!” I yelled, tears in my eyes.

“Corey. You shouldn’t be here. You have to go!” He yelled.

“I’m not leaving without you!” I pleaded. I got closer to him to be able to touch him and pull him back.

“You will! You don’t deserve to be with someone as broken as me. I have nothing left!” He yelled. He walked closer to the edge.

“Remember the wishing well? Wanna know what I wished for? I wished to have you in my life forever! I want you in my life, Damion! Please step away from there!!”

I reached behind Damion, hoping my cries were enough to convince him. He turned around and gave me a teary smile.

“I’m sorry, Corey…” He jumped. But quickly, I grabbed his arm. His body hung from the overpass, the only thing saving him was me.

“I love you, Damion.” I cried. “Please don’t leave!” I continued to grab onto Damion’s heavy dangling body.

“I love you too, Corey.”

And then he slipped from my grasp.

It was slow motion. I think everything stopped at this time. I saw as Damion’s face looked shocked and his body fell towards the concrete floor.

A loud thud made me wince. Cars stopped. The birds stopped. The sun stopped. And my heart stopped.

I let out a loud cry and wanted to jump and join him then and there.

I looked over and saw Damion’s body. He landed on his back.

His head was tilted to his left side. His arms and legs are in a star position.

But most of all…

The blood.

There were two pools of blood on both of his sides. They splattered the concrete, the crimson coloring the grey and black palette.

Upon closer look, the blood looked like a certain shape.

It looked like he had A

ngel W

ings .

Which kinda makes sense, cause he is an angel. A lost angel wondering the earth who just wanted to feel something. An innocent angel who deserves the best.

“Why, Damion? Why!?” I collapsed on the floor, clutching my chest as my heart ached for something I lost.

My vision began to blur and blacken. I was hoping this was a dream but my pain was very real.

“I love you, Damion. I always have…

bye! i love you all!!!!!

10: Fly Like Angels

“… and I always will. Since I met you, I knew you would flip my world upside down. Everyone was scared of you. People thought I was crazy to fall in love with someone as frightening as you. But I saw through that. Inside was a boy who was hurting. A boy who just needed someone to love them. And I did. I loved you with all my heart, Damion. I love you. I’ll say it forever. I love you.” I said tearfully.

The room was quiet. I sobbed and wiped my tears away.

No one spoke.

“And by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you as husband and husband. You may now kiss.” The priest said.

I leaned into Damion and gave him the biggest kiss I could think of. The chapel cheered for us, And I cried once again.

“I love you, Corey.” Damion said into my neck.

“I love you too. You better not leave me!” I said, remembering that horrific day.

“That was six years ago, babe. I’m sorry.” He said. I kissed him back and we walked down the aisle, with several of our family and friends cheering.

Damion had no family, which I could tell still hurts him to this day that his mom left him. Luckily, my family welcomed him with open arms. And now, he’s replaced me as my mom’s favorite.

We got the wedding reception in full swing. It’s a day to celebrate our love. And undying (pun intended) love that will live forever.

“And now can we please have the two newlyweds have a spot on the floor!” The DJ said. I got up and had to drag Damion to the floor.

“I-I don’t know how to dance.” He blushed hard. His legs stumbled a bit. After the accident as we call it, Damion had to go through physical therapy for a few years. He still struggles to walk but is almost back to normal at this point.

“Just follow my lead, baby. I’ll hold you. I’ll always hold you.” I said.

In the middle, Damion and I danced under the glow of lights. Soft music played.

“Thank you for giving me life.” Damion said. He settled his head into the crevice of my neck. I felt his heavy tears land.

“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be alive. You gave me everything I could ever want and more. How could I ever repay you?” He mumbled.

“You already pay me back. Everytime I wake up and see you next to me, that’s when I know that you are my gift. We both give and we both take. I’m so glad I found you.” I said. I leaned my head into his shoulder. Still to this day, he towers over me with his height.

‘Lover’ by Taylor Swift played as we swung back and forth while hugging. Who cares if neither of us know how to dance! Cause now I get to spend the rest of my life with Damion learning how to.

The biggest moment of happiness was when I found out Damion was still alive after he jumped. I still remember the hours I spent by his bed, waiting for him to wake up. It was during that time when almost the entire school came to grieve. Damion couldn’t believe how much people cared for him.

I went off to university and Damion found a job near my school. We lived together and it was during my first year when we officially… christened… the bed.

And then four years later he proposed to me.

It remains at the top of my best moments.

Planning the wedding was no easy task. I worked as a therapist and earned just enough. Damion owns a car-repair shop, which only made him much beefier and sexier. But we managed to pull off a great ceremony. It was my idea to get married in a church. Damion just played along, only agreeing cause we get to be together in the end.

I can proudly say that Damion has been clean for six years, two months, and thirteen days. Damion needed tons of therapy to help him through his depression. And I stood by his side through it all.

“Let’s get a dog.” Damion whispered into my ear, still rocking back and forth.

“That would be beautiful. What kind?” I asked.

“Thinking of a chihuahua.” He said. I giggled at the thought of a 6’5 Greek god holding a tiny yapping dog. “Fine! A samoyed?” He asked.

“Too annoying.” I said. “We have all the time in the world to look for a dog.” I said. And kissed him.

“We also have all the time in the world to fuck.” He whispered in my ear. I blushed.

“Damion!” I whispered.

“What? I want you to fuck me so hard, babe.” He kissed me.

“We’ll have sex officially as husbands!” I said.

“Husbands. I like the sound of that word.” He said

“Our plane leaves tomorrow at 12:00 pm. Don’t forget your swimming trunks.” I said.

“I have them packed, honey.” I stared into his green eyes that still make my legs quiver. The image in Damion railing me flashed through my mind.

“I’m gonna pack extra ones cause I know you forgot.” I said. He rolled his eyes.

“I love you, Corey.” He said.

“I love you, Damion.” I said.

The music changed to a more pop style. People flooded the dance floor and danced together.

“CONGRATS!” Eloise said, hugging me from behind.

“Thanks! Thank you for coming!” I said.

“No prob. Jenny was kind enough to look after our kids.” She said. I smiled at her and turned to see Damion who had a jumping Himari by his side. Himari still remained in contact with Damion after all these years. And she and Eloise have been pestering us about children.

“You really love him, don’t you?” She asked.

“Of course. How could I not?” I said. Damion turned and smiled at me. I walked up to him and stood directly in front of him.

“May I have this dance?” I asked him.

“Of course, Corey.” He said.

“You’re such an angel.” I giggled when he picked me up, twirled me, and set me back down quickly.

“We’re both angels. And we both fly together.” He said. I grabbed his hand and he gave me a spin and tilted me down, planting a kiss on my lips.

And we flew into a future of uncertainty but with the knowledge that we’ll both have each other’s backs.

Because I love Damion. And he loves me.

And we’ll both fly like angels.
