Lines:

“when I grow up I want to be like (insert any charater/ star)”

“I’m not in a ‘save the day’ kind of mood.”

“I love that color on you.”

“Would I lie to you?”

“If I had a dollar for every time you said that!”

hope you like it! May<3]

I groaned in frustration as the paperwork proved useless in aiding my quest. Shoving the papers to the side, I paged my secritary.

“Marel,”

“Yes, Mr. Hale?”

“Can you get Fredircks in here please.”

“Right away Mr. Hale.”

Sighing, I leaned back into my comfortable executive chair. I don’t know why I am in such a surly mood lately. Perhaps it was feeling as if nothing was going the way I had planned. All of my life I had been waiting for this moment, and now that it’s here…well let’s just say its not as glamorous as it seemed.

I looked to the papers again, I am sure they have the necessary information, but at the moment all I see is pointless facts. In hopes of organising my thoughts to better aid myself and those around me, I started to scribble everything down. Everything that I hoped for, everything that needed to be done, and everything I believed we needed to get it done. I was on my tenth piece of paper when Fredricks knocked and walked in. He’s lucky I like him, most could not get away with that self important act with their boss.

“You know, if you’d just write your freaking lists on the computer like a normal person you’d save quite a few trees.” He stated as he flopped into one of the guest chairs.

I let out a grunt, responding with, “I’m not in a ‘save the day’ kind of mood.”

“Hah, when are you?” That earned him a glare, which he casually shrugged off. He was one of the few people my intimidating looks did not seem to effect.

I let out another sigh and let my shoulders relax a little, knowing it wouldn’t do any good to hold the strong, boss like pose in front of this man.

“So Mr. Boss-man, what can I do for you today?”

I looked away, trying to think of something quickly. Today I must not have been quick enough though.

“Frank, what’s up? This is the third day in a row you’ve called me in here just to basically hang.” His use of my first name and the concerned look in his eyes had me breaking down.

I looked down at my desk, fiddlng with the many papers littering it. “I’m failing Paulie,” I said thickly, chancing a glance at the other man.

His look of shock almost killed me. I have never been one to admit failure or weakness so lightly. I know thats one of my strongest and weakest traits. I can stand strong in the roughest situations, but I also can’t seem to ask for the help I might desperatly need.

“Oh, if I had a dollar for every time you said that! Well, I’d be pretty poor actually.” He started laughing at his little joke, and knowing he was trying to lighten my mood made a small smile creep on to my face as well.

When he saw that was all he was going to get out of me, his looked turned serious. “Why would you think you are failing? You are the owner and CEO of large multi national corporation. What part of that points towards failure?”

“I don’t know, it’s just ever since I was little I would say ‘when I grow up I want to be like my father.’ And now that I’ve filled his shoes….I am just…I’m failing.”

Letting out a breath, he stood up, “You’re not failing,” He moved around the desk and came up behind my chair. “You’re stressed. That happens to the best of them you know. Even happened to your father on occasion.”

He started to rub my shoulders and I moaned, it felt amazing. I had so much tension I thought my muscle was going to snap. Him being the one to do it only seemed to make it better.

“Let me guess, all of your paperwork is turning into boring useless scribbles, the facts just don’t sound right, numbers don’t add up.” I nodded slightly. Maybe he knows what he’s talking about.

“You’ll get through it Frank, I know you will.” He sounded so sincere I couldn’t help but hope.

“You think?” I asked, turning my chair around to look him in the eyes

“Would I lie to you?” He said softly.

“Come here Paulie.” I said as I pulled him closer, hands resting on his hips.

His arms moved back to my shoulders and slid around my neck. I moved my arms around his back, and hugged him close, face nuzzling into his stomach to breath in his scent.  He grazed his fingers through my hair and the moment was peaceful.

“Besides, I wouldnt want you to get any ideas and resign. You look too sexy in this chair to be letting some mean, old guy replace you.” He leaned back as he said this, grinning mischievously at me. I felt my face heat up slightly at his open opinion of my looks.

He chuckled at my blush as he sat on my lap, “Mmm, I love that color on you.”

His lips found mine after that and all my worries, for the moment, floated away.

[I thought about giving this a dirty bit, but once it was written….i dont know i just couldnt bring myself to turn the sweet into naughty this time :) ….I’ll make up for it in my next one-shot >;P <3]
