PART ONE: DOLLHOUSE
But you’ve already bought a ticket
And there’s no turning back now
Round and round like a horse on a carousel, we go
Will I catch up to love? I could never tell, I know
Chasing after you is like a fairytale, but I feel like I’m glued on tight to this carousel
This horse is too slow
We’re always this close
Almost, almost, we’re a freakshow
Right, right when I’m near
It’s like you disappeared
Chapter 1
“Jiminnie! Are you serious about this? You could have simply said no but you didn’t. Why?” asks Hoseok, bewildered by his friend’s decision to join Korea’s Urban Legends article that their company planned for their next issue. It’s not that he doesn’t trust Jimin’s capability of writing an article about urban legends but it’s the thought of accompanying him to a scary place that is what’s running through his mind right now. Everyone who knows him knows very well that he is a scaredy cat especially when it comes to ghosts and shit that doesn’t have a scientific explanation. Jimin and Hoseok are both journalists, it’s just that Jimin’s article this time is different from Hoseok’s.
The only reason why Jimin agreed to participate in the said article along with other journalists is because he is on the verge of getting fired if he still does not come up and gain a lot of readers in his article. And yes, of course, everyone knows how catchy urban legends are for readers. He’d been a good journalist for the past two years but after the management and the boss changed, so thus the standards that he had to meet which unluckily, he had been failing for the past three months.
“Hobi hyung! You know exactly why I didn’t disagree and sorry about my hasty decision but, you know how I don’t want to lose this job that I love especially now that you know my marriage situation,” says Jimin, sighing deeply as he runs his fingers through his hair and leaning his back on his swivel chair. Hoseok looks at Jimin sympathetically.
He knows why the younger is so eager to do everything and anything not to lose his job, not only because this is a thing that the younger loves but also a distraction as well of how sad and hurtful that his marriage is going to end soon. Yes, he is married to a well-known fine man, music producer Min Yoongi. Jimin and Yoongi had been married for about a year now.
It was an arranged marriage. Both of their elder brothers are married - happily married ones just like their parents and they are the complete opposite of them. The only reason why their parents decided to bind them together was to strengthen the family ties and because at the time, both were single and career driven which led to their parents worrying that they might end up growing old with no one else to hold hands with until they die. It might sound absurd but that’s just how parents are. They don’t want their kids to end up alone when they die.
Jimin tried, really tried to get close to Yoongi for the next three months of their marriage but the older doesn’t let him.
He’s too distant and cold let alone make Jimin feel that he doesn’t see him as his husband so, Jimin stopped trying and they spent the next six months acting like strangers sharing the same house.
Well, the house is owned by Yoongi himself and he can just kick Jimin out if he wants to, but he didn’t. The reason? No one knows.
And what happened to the remaining three months that summed up their one-year marriage? Chaotic.
Jimin finds himself seeing Yoongi get home late every night, drunk and lingering on a lot of different scents. Not that he’s being nosy as he tells himself that they don’t share the same feelings but it hurts him to see that Yoongi is having the time of his life while he, is bitter and depressed. One night he finally got fed up and burst into madness when he saw Yoongi disrespecting him at the absolute highest level by bringing a stranger to their house and making out with her in the living room after he came home very late finishing a deadline that got him very, very tired.
Jimin sighs again, remembering the very reason why he’s so desperate to meet the standards of their boss. He can’t lose another part of him that he loves. Yes, as sad and heartbreaking as it may seem, yes. He loves his husband even when he doesn’t.
Chapter 2
Jimin sighed the moment he stepped inside the house. Well, their house.
It’s been a year already but why does his silly self still hope that his husband will appear and greet him at the front door and ask how his day went?
He immediately plopped himself on the couch and looked up at the ceiling, staring into nothingness until his mind was clouded with thoughts about the article that he would be doing soon.
Should I tell him that I’ll be away for the next few days?
Nah, he won’t even worry about me running away from this fucked up marriage of ours before we can even sign the divorce papers, Jimin thought.
He was about to fall asleep when he remembered that he had not eaten yet. With his tired body, he forced himself to stand up and walk into the kitchen to prepare himself a dinner.
After ten minutes of cooking instant ramen with sunny-side-up egg as his dinner, he went back to the living room and sat on the floor with his laptop placed on the round table.
Now you may be thinking why does he cook that for dinner well, for starters, he can’t cook how normal people do. Second, Yoongi doesn’t eat dinner at home let alone with him so yeah, depressing.
While munching on his dinner, he busied himself searching for urban legends for their article - his article that he’ll be doing. He wants something different and hard to comply which no one is brave enough to do. Yes, his pride and competitiveness are kicking in.
His eyes rolled when he saw what Naver showed as results when he typed: Scary places to go to and Scary Urban Legends.
They’re all the same and he bet that if he’s going to propose this at tomorrow’s meeting for what kind of urban legends they’ll be contributing, he is very sure, he will have someone to match with, which he doesn’t want to happen.
So he did the unthinkable.
Search for something that is out of the box and impossible to have respondents with but it’s worth the shot than never.
And he comes up with the most intriguing and infamous - Dollhouse.
He had never heard of this before.
He first thought that this might be a house with lots of dolls in it with creepy, dark aura and history but he was surprised when he found out an obviously a needle in a hay comment in one of the online forums that he is into.
It was long but kind of informative. Well, Dollhouse is not a very known scary place nor an urban legend to get scared of but there is something about it that spikes his interest.
Dollhouse is a vanishing mansion in a nonexistent place in Gyeonggi-do. It is said that the mansion is only visible to people who have a sixth sense or when it is a full moon. People who went inside were never seen again by their families.
I happened to be almost a missing person when my family had a vacation in Gyeonggi-do, and being the IDGAF type of person I am, I went out one night after two days of just spending time with my family in our said vacation to smoke and that is when I went out for a walk too and discovered this house. It was so cool like it was literally like a dollhouse, girls playing but the moment that I stepped on where the house stood, I almost felt like the temperature dropped and heard a very, very melancholic tune but I was thankful I got off my daze when my phone rang out of nowhere and believe it or not, the moment I tried to look up again at the mansion, damn! I ran faster than I’ll ever do in my whole goddamn life when it vanish and was replaced by a creepily (but handsome!) man playing the piano with red eyes smiling like a Cheshire cat at me.
And then, the next day after that incident, I learned that Dollhouse used to be a home for the most prominent and rich family with a good reputation before that cursed the whole house, maybe thinking that no one could own it besides them so yeah, that’s that.
Jimin tapped his fingers on top of the table, getting more curious about what he had just read. This is interesting! he thought. He smiled to himself knowing that he could bet his life on this chosen article of his to do will save his career.
Little did he know, his husband had been staring at him for quite a couple of minutes now since his arrival and only moved to walk to his room, pretending that he didn’t care for him when Jimin finally noticed his presence.
Chapter 3
“Jimin! I swear to god! What if we get kidnapped? Look, I’m not trying to scare you or us, but there’s a possibility something like it will happen! We’ve been walking here for hours and yet we haven’t found the “Dollhouse” that urban legends say there is!“ says Hoseok, frustrated as they had been walking for about just an hour away from where they booked to stay the night. Well, they intended to stay at Gyeonggi-do for three days but after Jimin asks for let’s say Yoongi’s permission, out of respect to let him know where he will be, the older suddenly orders him to be away only for one day and night. He didn’t tell him the reason why for this decision however Jimin didn’t argue and just thought that probably the older has something planned for himself and wouldn’t want to leave the house without anyone to look after it.
“Hobi hyung! We’ve been over this for the past ten minutes! I told you we will not take that long. It’s not like it’ll be night soon. It’s just 11 am! Please, allow me to find some useful information for my article that my boss had agreed to me doing which he also has hopes of me doing it right this time, alright so please, will you?” exclaimed Jimin, emphasizing his last sentence to get across his friend’s mind.
Hoseok sighed and tapped his friend’s shoulder in understanding. He might just be exaggerating because of how silent but heavy the forest that they ended up with gives him. Maybe, he is just the type of person who grew up in a city, and things like this which one could only experience in places like a province made him feel weird.
“But do you think it’s true?” he asks while walking alongside the younger who is trying to be optimistic and will somehow magically end them in front of the infamous urban legend.
“I don’t know but it doesn’t hurt to try. I mean, someone had been there already. I mean, almost.”
It was already lunchtime when they decided to leave the forest and head to a small restaurant that serves locals and less of tourists. All eyes immediately landed on them the moment they stepped in.
The two looked at each other and shrugged at the same time, ignoring the weird gazes they were getting.
“Let me guess, either one of you or both of you are a Journalist, am I right?” asks the old lady wearing comfy but thick clothing as she hands them a hard-like folder containing the menu they have for that day.
Hoseok’s eyes widened in surprise and smiled at the old lady with his infamous ray of sun smile.
“Woah! How did you know?”
However, the old lady seemed unbothered by it and poured their small empty glass of warm water.
“Well, you’re not the first one to come and have a look at our place, only to look for a certain house - the Dollhouse, am I right? Isn’t that why you’re?”
Jimin could only nod in response.
The old lady sighs, “This is tiring, really, especially at my age but, whatever you originally planned to do here, forget it. There are already people like you who are eager to prove something, to someone, but end up missing and never found by their loved ones. I’m telling you this because I don’t want another family going here hoping that they’ll find what they have lost. That house is haunted, no. It’s cursed for the love of Satan.”
Jimin sighed as soon as the old lady left with their orders. He looks at Hoseok who is already looking at him with meaningful eyes.
“So, are you still going to proceed? I mean, you could just ask the locals here like that old lady who just blabbered about the Dollhouse, however, it seems that they’re not fond of it,” says Hoseok, breaking the tension.
“Yeah, I guess so. Hopefully, our boss wouldn’t be arranging a meeting for the two of us only to fire me because of how much of a failure I am,” says Jimin with glossy eyes and a broken smile.
They were about to go back, trying to look for anything that may resemble or someone that could also share their insights of the Dollhouse like the old lady did earlier however for whatever reason, the clouds suddenly turned gray, almost had everyone thinking that there’s an incoming storm that could have been in the news.
With a groan, Jimin went back to their inn with his friend secretly thanking whoever helped him not go somewhere that might be more creepy and scary than the forest earlier.
And the rain finally started to pour outside like the roofs could had a hole any second in it. Bored, the two friends decided to busy themselves. Hoseok read an article that could give him the inspiration of what to write next and Jimin tried to write a draft about his chosen article making it interesting having only a little information in his head.
Hours passed and the rain finally stopped after it made the two dozy enough to sleep until it was dark outside.
Jimin’s eyes shot open when he heard a nostalgic tune from afar. He sat on the bed and looked at Hoseok for a minute before deciding to stand and walk towards the closed window to open it.
A cold breeze immediately hugged his skin like a human and for Jimin, it was quite calming especially since he can also smell the after-rain scent that lingers in the quiet town.
He looked up to stargaze but what caught his attention was the smiling-like position of the crescent moon. It somehow reminded him of an anime that he watched way back. He smiled to himself and fished his phone from his pants pocket to try to capture the beauty of the moon however, what his eyes could see couldn’t compare to the quality of the photo that he had just taken. And that’s when he noticed the time. It was already about to go midnight and yet. . .
Where’s that tune coming from? he thought to himself.
Jimin being the intrigued he was and the opposite of Hoseok, took his silk big ass scarf and wore it like a jacket before quietly walking out of their inn. As he walks he sighs remembering that he did not receive any texts from anyone, especially from a particular person. It’s not that he’s hoping but he just wants to know how it feels like when someone is worried about you, especially coming from the person you loved - your husband.
He kept walking and walking, having no sense of direction at all. He just let his feet bring him to a place he likes and that happens to be from where the nostalgic tune is coming from.
The tune finally got louder, letting him know that it’d just be around the corner, forgetting that he was now entering the same forest they were earlier. How could he notice that when he is so distracted with the tune still playing in the background and the terracotta leaves of trees that seem to glow in the dark but what caught more of his attention was. . .
. . . the fact that he is now standing in front of the infamous, Dollhouse.
Chapter 4
His eyes widened in adoration as he stood in front of the Dollhouse. It was so fascinating and eye-catching!
The moment that he tried to step a few inches near the mansion itself, his feet landed on some pile of leaves that just happened to be there, creating a loud noise. Jimin almost shut his eyes when he realized how clumsy he was disturbing the person inside playing the piano.
The tune stopped for a minute before it started again with now a different tune from the last time. This time, the tune was a little more lively to listen to, it’s like a tune you will hear at the carnival but there’s something about it that makes Jimin’s heart hopeful and heavy.
He gulped and held his chest. The tune is slowly making his heartache and feel dizzy at the same time. He tried to distract himself by taking a look at the exterior of the house. It was literally like a dollhouse. Its colors were a mix of light blue and grey. The classic color of a dollhouse. Light blue for the bottom and grey for the roofs. Not to mention that there are a lot of windows and the light coming from the inside is a soft orange color, almost matching the terracotta leaves of the trees nearby. Now, it got him wondering. Is there anyone who might have noticed his existence already? He’d been here for a minute or two already!
He slowly walked away from the door and tried to peek inside from one of the windows and there he saw a man facing away from him, mindlessly getting carried away playing his piano with a soft glow of the orange light hitting his skin.
Jimin doesn’t understand why his heart suddenly beats like there’s no tomorrow and maybe he knows. Yeah, he knows. It’s because the man playing his piano, wearing an all-black suit, with slender hands and soft curly hair reaching his jaw mesmerized his eyes. Could he possibly be an idol that he just randomly walked into?
Chasing after you is like a fairytale
It was too late for Jimin to realize that he had just randomly out of nowhere sung along with the tune. He doesn’t even know where those lines came from! And for the love of being random, he just sang it out loud and made the person inside the house stop again.
He stupidly shut close his eyes and almost yet made a squeaky noise but immediately closed his mouth with his hands and was already a few feet away from the house when his feet for some reason started walking away, and when the main door opened revealing the tall man standing and looking at the running figure away. He smirked.
What the old woman from the restaurant told Jimin and Hoseok was true. People who went to look for the Dollhouse and had been there never made it out — alive. Where are they being murdered? Maybe. Or maybe the souls of the people who went there were sucked out by the human-like creature living in the Dollhouse.
Technically, he was once human, and then tragedy happened, and made a deal with a devil and here he was. Sucking and collecting one hundred souls to return to life as a human.
He already had made it to ninety-nine and tonight, he will now be able to finish the deal so, of course, he’s smirking out of joy.
But what caught his attention earlier was not the usual reaction of the humans that he once encountered that went to his house. This one was quite appreciative, probably the tune that he was playing mesmerized the human so he kept his silence to which he played along but what he didn’t expect was to hear a line that matched the tune of his. The line was almost nostalgic. He knew he heard those lines from before but it couldn’t be. Probably his ears are just playing tricks on him.
“Hey, were you supposed to listen to me finish playing the piano?” he asks, amused when the supposedly running away figure halts to a stop.
“I. . I, uh. .” Jimin gulped. He couldn’t just face the man from earlier with his face heating up because of embarrassment. He might be thinking of me now as a stalker or something!
The man behind chuckled. It was low yet attractive and he could feel that he was walking towards him.
“I don’t want to do this the hard way and since you’re the last one, I’ll be gentle. C’mon now and turn around. I’m waiting, princess.”
Jimin was internally debating whether he was going to obey what the man had told him to, as this could seriously lead him to trouble and he didn’t go here to cause trouble, and yet…
“I’m sorry, Mister! I swear, I didn’t mean to pry! I just find your playing of piano nostalgic and it makes me of someone!” Jimin blabbered, almost rapping like his husband when he was recording some of his songs for his album.
The man in front of him didn’t see his face as he immediately bowed when he turned at him and kept on bowing looking like he was doing some head-bang trick on a rock band concert.
“It’s fine, now will you let me take a look at you, princess? Don’t make me wait. I’ve waited long enough. “ annoyance laced the man’s voice and sent shivers to Jimin.
He stopped banging his head and felt two cold fingers touch his chin and slowly lift them toward the man.
Jimin swore he saw the man’s cocky smirk on his face before suddenly and quickly changing into a bewildered expression. But he can’t deny too that the man he saw a few feet away earlier was more handsome in near view.
“J-Jimin. .” he heard the man say in an almost mixed emotion tone but more of surprise and happiness lingering to it.
“H-. . I’m sorry?” asks Jimin, almost inaudible, obviously surprised that he heard his name slipped out of the man’s lips. How come did this know him? Is he a fan of his? From the articles that he’d written form before or perhaps someone from his past? He doesn’t know. He doesn’t remember seeing this man.
“I-It’s you. .” the man says again while caressing his cheek and as much as Jimin would want to say that he didn’t like the way how he touched him, he can’t. It was way too comforting.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be… uh. . rude, but w-who are you?”
The man’s jaw dropped. No. No, he’s kidding! He’s sure of it. Jimin could have never forgotten him! They were tied to each other after Jimin was born. What he heard just now is just a lie. A dream. A bad dream!
“Don’t be silly, darling. You know who I am. Your husband, Jungkook. Remember?” he says with wide eyes, a mixture of hurt and hopefulness.
“I-. . Uh, what?” Jimin is sure that he didn’t drink soju before coming here so what is this man talking about?
He’s married to the one and only Min Yoongi. Jungkook, who?!
The man chuckled seeing Jimin’s expression. Yep, pretty sure this is a bad dream. He laughed which surprised and scared Jimin at the same time how the man’s laugh changed from sadness, mockery, and anger. He held onto Jimin’s left hand which he just noticed just was hurting him, wincing from the pain but couldn’t pull his hand away.
“Jimin… Jimin… Jimin…” the man calls out to him, changing his tone of voice every time Jimin’s name is said and it scares Jimin to death because along with what the man is doing now is matching with how his smile is getting bigger and bigger but his eyes say otherwise and the house at the back, the Dollhouse, is getting bigger and bigger, and now, they’re slowly getting inside of it like they are the dolls being played by little girls when. . .
“JIMIN!” his ears hurt from how loud the voice was and the stinging sensation from his cheeks.
“What the fu—…Hobi hyung?!” asked Jimin as he was still adjusting to his surroundings while holding his red cheek from Hoseok’s slap that woke him up.
“You were fucking sleepwalking, dude! What the actual fuck?!”
PART TWO: DOLLHOUSE
Help me when I’m too detached and cold
Give me the vitality, identity, to trust love more
Blood to the water, neither can fuel us alone
Fervency in my arteries, passion bloomin’ through my bones
Heart strings trigger emotion streams
A God belongs, a journey where rivers connect all of me
But, but be it steadfast, don’t you disappoint me
Sometimes I think you’re all I need, what’s beyond belief
Chapter 5
“I-. . What?” asks Jimin, bewildered by what his friend and co-worker just accused him of doing.
“I said, you were fucking sleepwalking! I woke up because of the murmurs I heard and then, right then and there I saw you standing in front of the door talking to no one and acting like some scary shit is in front of you! Do you know how scared and worried I am at the same time? Why didn’t you tell me you sleepwalk in your sleep? Does Yoongi hyung know about this? Fuck, Jimin! Are you high or something?” exclaimed Hoseok.
“I-I mean, I don’t know,” replied Jimin, almost inaudible, and held his head low. Embarrassed that he made Hoseok scared and worried both at the same time. But the dream! Why does it look so real even when, just like what Hoseok had said he’s just there standing in front of their room’s door?
“Aish! Let’s just get out of here. I don’t like really like the vibe here anyways.” says Hoseok as he makes sure that nothing of his will be forgotten once they leave.
Jimin could only nod and made his way inside the bathroom. He sat on the toilet seat brought his palms to his face and rested on it. He can still feel it. The realness of what he had just. . . dreamt. It’s just a dream, right?
The ride home was quiet. Neither of them spoke. Hoseok’s focus was on the road while Jimin, his thoughts were lost somewhere out there.
He kept thinking of the man he saw in his dream. The tall man wears a suit with a familiar smirk yet a terrifying aura. Could he be someone he knows that his mind just suddenly reminded him of? He called out his name so he really must be someone he knows but if he does, with that face of the man, how could he not remember him? He remembers handsome faces.
But what made him shiver was the fact that the man said that he was his husband. Like, did he have an amnesia or something? His parents thought that his real husband died and that for Jimin not to feel about the tragic incident they married him to Yoongi and Yoongi knows about this that’s why he has never learned to love him because of the thought that he is just a replacement for someone?
“Did I have an amnesia?” he asks.
Due to Hoseok’s surprise because of the sudden question, he hastily put that car to a stop which surprised both of them when they almost had their heads hit the front of the car, luckily they were wearing their seatbelts and the impact wasn’t that strong.
“Hobi hyung!” exclaimed Jimin as he put his right hand on his chest to feel how fast his heart was beating.
“I’m sorry but Jimin, what the fuck? Why do you suddenly ask that kind of question to me? Did you hit your head?”
“I-I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking you!”
Hoseok sighs and starts the engine of the car again.
“Jimin, what happened?” he asks in all seriousness.
Jimin quickly looks at Hoseok and turns his head back to the window.
“The dream I had earlier, the one in which you said I was sleepwalking, I dreamt of a man saying that he is my husband but he’s not Yoongi.”
“What the. .?!”
“And I don’t know, in my dream, somehow I got myself in front of the Dollhouse.”
“Jimin, don’t get yourself too worked up with that Dollhouse article. It’s not good and it’ll be a bad idea to go back. We’re not going back there. You’re not going back.” says Hoseok as he helps Jimin bring his things inside the house.
Jimin thanked Hoseok for helping him and accompanying him yesterday.
As soon as he left, Jimin slouched onto the couch and looked at the chandelier above the ceiling.
Flashbacka of what happened in his dream was clear as ice. He doesn’t understand why that dream felt so real especially when the man touched his cheek and left hand. . . His hand!
He immediately raised his left hand and to his surprise, he saw a handprint around his left wrist.
Oh my god! No, this isn’t true!
He tried to touch the mark however as soon as his fingertip touched it, it stung.
“Ouch!” he yelped in pain. His eyes immediately become glossy. He’s not used to physical pain and so, a thing like this hurts like hell for him.
How come he and nor Hoseok didn’t notice this earlier?
He got up and went to the bathroom to tend to the mark that he thinks is a bruise. He thought that ice could heal it but alas, it got a bit more clear that someone had held him in an almost inhuman strength. He ends up putting an ointment and wrapping it up with gauze so it’ll not look suspicious on how he got the mark, not that his husband will care anyway.
He was about to get out of the bathroom when he heard a chain sound being dragged on the floor when he turned. He gulped and held his breath for a good second. He felt as if someone was staring at his back but it was probably just his imagination because when he turned his back in front of the mirror, he saw no one but his reflection. He shrugged the thought of ghosts trying to scare him because why just now the ghost would like to play a trick on him after he first got here?
He tiredly went to his room and plopped himself on the bed, careful not to injure more of his left hand.
Seconds passed and he heard a familiar tune. As much as he wanted to get up and look where the tune was coming from, it seemed like his body could no longer deal with any physical activity he felt himself sink deeper into the bed as he heard a faint whisper in his ear.
“Jimin. . .” as if it was just behind him, smiling.
Chapter 6
It was almost midnight when Jimin woke up but he wasn’t able to get up immediately when he tried to. It’s like there was a heavy weight pulling him down and he realized it was coming from his left hand. It felt cold.
He rubbed his eyes to adjust to the light when he opened the lamp beside his bed. And he swore with all his life, he saw someone sitting on the chair in front of his bed, smiling like a Cheshire cat and when he blinked, it was gone.
Because of how terrified he was, he immediately got off the bed and ran, almost stumbling when his left hand felt weighing him down like there was something heavy wrapped around his hand. He was now panting when he reached the kitchen to drink some water when at the corner of his eye he caught Yoongi sitting in one of the high chairs on their mini bar, drinking whiskey with an envelope beside him and a big box on top of the dining table.
Yoongi looked at him when he felt his presence but he pretended he didn’t know Yoongi was there and drank his water, almost emptying the pitcher when the older called him.
“Yes, hyung?” he asked, when he got near the older, eyeing the big box instead of the envelope.
“I think you already know what this is for,” says Yoongi, tapping the envelope to get Jimin’s attention. He might not admit it, but it makes his heart heavy on how Jimin will react to see the divorce papers inside. He knew the younger, even though they were not on the romantic side, treasured their marriage but for Yoongi, it’s not that he didn’t like the younger but it seemed weird for him to continue being married to him when they acted like strangers to each other especially when he knows, he is no match with his best friend, Hoseok who he spends most of his time and who knew him well enough than him. He knows he cannot compete. Jimin is not and will never be his in the first place.
Jimin curiously looked at him and opened the envelope. He expected him to shout or look sad but no, he wasn’t. It seems like he is not in himself but he just nods and smiles a little. Yoongi was curious why but then he understood. Maybe the younger already admits to himself that he should also let go of their loveless marriage and to be honest, it hurts Yoongi’s heart as hell.
“Give me the pen.” Jimin quietly said and as soon as he gave him the pen, he immediately signed all of it. While Jimin’s busy signing the papers, Yoongi’s attention went to the younger’s bandaged left hand. He wondered what happened to it especially when he knew he went out with Hoseok yesterday and spent a night with him. He gulped and turned his fist into a ball as he gritted his teeth into silence.
Did not Hoseok take care of him?
“Here.”
Jimin handed him back the papers and the pen and when he was about to ask what happened to his hand, he was already in front of the big box that Jimin had been staring at since earlier.
“Is this something you will need?” he asks, trying to inspect what could be inside the box.
“No. That’s just some random gift I got from a client of mine today. She must have thought I already have a child or something.” he chuckled.
But before he could say something again, Jimin already left with the big box and went upstairs to his room. He sighed. He knew that he just made the right decision to divorce Jimin but why does his heart ache?
As soon as Jimin got inside his room, he leaned on the door and let himself slide down with the big box still in his arms.
His lips quivered and the next thing he knew, he was now sobbing softly. It makes his heartache that he finally agrees to what Yoongi wants. Maybe that’s the right thing to do. He’ll make the older happy and Yoongi being happy will always be his priority.
He choked down his tears and tried his best to smile and walked away from his door to open the contents of the box, and he was surprised to see that it was a big dollhouse. Almost similar to what he saw in his dream.
He had never owned this kind of toy before considering that he was a boy and it was somehow funny that the article he was trying to write was about the Dollhouse and now, he had this.
He sighed, almost feeling funny to himself. He opened the dollhouse and saw a family of bunnies. He smiled in adoration. There was a mama and papa bunny and a brother and sister bunnies who he thinks are the children of the couple bunny.
Jimin didn’t understand why and how it happened, but he suddenly felt like playing with the dollhouse and he was so immersed that he didn’t notice that there was yet another familiar tune playing from nowhere. No, it wasn’t Yoongi’s doing but only Jimin could hear the familiar tune.
He hummed along with the tune as he played the bunny family. Calling the brother bunny, Kookie, and somehow it made him relieved.
Meanwhile, Yoongi downstairs just finished drinking his whiskey when he decided to call it a day and took the divorce papers with him that he hadn’t signed yet he decided to see what Jimin was doing even though he already knew that he might be asleep already.
But what surprised him was when he was just a few walks away from Jimin’s room, he heard a calming voice singing a song he had never heard before. Curiosity took over Yoongi and he decided to sneakily peek at Jimin’s room he was more surprised to see Jimin singing and dancing like a ballerina in front of the dollhouse that he knew was the content inside the box that he had just bought home.
Brain and heart as if they could stay alive alone
Flip it around the other way
If they were apart and you had no powers
Start on no day, the base, only a shell remains
What fun is it, to bein’ so calculated
Or be taken advantage of, ’cause your heart’s too trusting
Yoongi swore his jaw dropped. He never knew Jimin could sing and dance. He could have been an idol with this hidden talent of his. How come he never knew? Does his parents or Hoseok know? Why didn’t they tell him? But aside from that, he felt his heart ache when he felt and understood what Jimin was singing.
PART THREE: DOLLHOUSE
Riding down, riding down
My hand on your seat
The whole way ’round
I carry band-aids on me now
For when your soft hands hit the jagged ground
Wheels aren’t even touching the ground
Scared to take them off, but they’re so worn down
Promise I won’t push you straight to the dirt
If you promise me, you’ll take them off first
Chapter 7
“Is this everything you have come up with, Mr. Min?” asks his boss, raising one eyebrow cockily at him.
“Mr. Park, Sir.” he corrected, “And no, that’s not everything yet. I just wanted to show you how I’m doing with the article.”
His boss squints his eyes looking at him. He is used to calling him Mr. Min and not Park but probably he already knew the reason why he corrected him.
He sighs and nods his head.
“Alright, then I expect a good article from you but if it still doesn’t reach a lot of readers interest, I’m sorry but I have to fire you.”
“I understand.” was the only thing he replied before standing up and getting out of his boss’s office.
“Hey.” greeted Hoseok when he saw how gloomy Jimin was and what he only got from him was a faint smile.
“I should probably start cleaning my desks now not just my room in Yoongi’s house. It seems disorganized to me.” he jokes around.
“What do you mean? Did Yoongi ask you again to sign those papers? You didn’t sign those, right?. . . Right?!” Hoseok stood and held Jimin’s shoulders when he didn’t answer him.
“I did.” he finally replied, turning his head in Hoseok’s direction with glossy eyes and a faint smile.
“Oh, fuck no!” exclaimed Hoseok, angry about what Jimin did but mostly of his best friend probably pushing Jimin into his limit, “I’ll talk to that bastard!”
“N-No! You don’t have and need to. It’s fine, Hobi hyung. It’s fine. I’m fine. As long as Yoongi hyung is happy.” but it hurts to say those words when Jimin knew it wasn’t the truth. He is not fine.
Hoseok could only hug Jimin as he felt his shirt getting wet because of Jimin’s cry but that’s okay. And even if he was told by Jimin not to talk to Yoongi about it, he’s not just going to stay still and pretend that everything his best friend is doing is all right. He is surely going to beat his ass when he sees him.
And being the sunshine he is, when lunchtime comes, he gets Jimin to come along with him in a newly opened cafè which again, surprisingly, is a very aesthetic kind of dollhouse theme. It sent shivers to his spine but to Jimin, he was beyond fascinated.
It was no surprise to Hoseok when Jimin ordered a bunch of pretty-looking foods on the menu because he knows how Jimin adores cute things however he felt something was off with his friend. He was too jolly right now which was not the case earlier. Like he didn’t cry at all. He was bubbly enough with the people around them that he was gathering their attention especially when he suddenly talked so sweet which surprised Hoseok and luckily his attention to those stop when he noticed a bandage on Jimin’s left hand. He carefully pulled his arm which made Jimin yelp and rolled his sleeves up.
“Jimin, who did this?” he asks, almost ready to attack anyone who caused it.
“N-No one!” he replied with a pout and pulled his arm away from Hoseok, slightly rubbing his wrist.
Hoseok sees it like he’s a puppy who suddenly gets frightened. Thou he still wants to know what happened, he feels like he might want to just do that later as he doesn’t want to ruin Jimin’s mood. He already had enough of today, he thought.
“I said, I wanna go home!” Jimin yelled beside Hoseok who was driving at the moment after they spent an hour in the cafè and before Jimin suddenly got weird, acting as if he was waiting for someone to fetch him up when no one would that he knew of.
“C’mon, dude! Chill. I’m already driving you home. What the hell is wrong with you today? You’re honestly scaring me right now in case you don’t know.”
Jimin sighed.
“I just wanna go home! I wanna see my brother. I wanna see my brother, Kookie.” says Jimin, the last sentence almost inaudible but Hoseok was able to hear it, well, except for the name that Jimin mentioned.
“Oh so you want to see your brother?” asks Hoseok, his expression softening.
Jimin nodded and Hoseok obliged to his request and turned the other way instead of sending Jimin’s home to Yoongi’s.
On their way to his brother’s house, Hoseok was bewildered when he heard him sing. He has always thought that Jimin could have an angelic voice because of how his voice sounded when they talk but knowing him, he hasn’t heard him sing before for god knows since they became friends so this is surprising to him.
Is this Jimin he’s with right now?
However, he wasn’t able to voice out his questions when he got lost because of his singing. He didn’t even notice that Jimin had already fallen asleep in his seat. They arrived at Jimin’s brother’s house. He tries to wake him up but can’t, so he does what he thinks is the right thing to do — carry Jimin in his arms, bridal style .
He swore his friend’s weight is light like a feather when he is sure he eats a lot.
“Hey, what brings you. .? Oh?! What happened to my brother?” greeted Jin as soon as he opened the door but his gaze immediately went to Jimin who was being held by Hoseok and suddenly started to panic about what could have happened with his brother.
“What happened?” asks Jin after he leaves Jimin in the guest room with the help of his husband, Namjoon, who sits next to him eyeing Hoseok in front of them like he’s some kind of accused person.
“C’mon, Jin! I already told you, I did nothing to him. He just fell asleep, that’s all.”
“No, that’s not what I meant. I mean, what are you guys doing here? I don’t mean to be rude because honestly, it’s been a while since I saw the both of you. I and my husband truly miss you, but you two are not someone who will just show up without notice except if something happens.” says Jin, folding his arms and letting out a sigh.
“Uhm, I don’t think I should be the one saying this, I mean, I’m not in the right position to. .”
“What did my brother do to Jimin, Hoseok?” asks Namjoon as he held tight to his husband’s hand in an attempt to calm his nerves, hoping his brother did not do anything stupid else…
Chapter 8
Jimin woke up surprised when he realized that he was not in his room. He quickly tried to get out of bed but as soon as he did, he felt a heavy weight on his left wrist which made him stumble back and get dizzy. He also felt how he was having a hard time breathing, it was like his heart was aching and throbbing very fast, and his ears rung to the melody he was hearing from not so far from where he was.
He swore he felt as if he could see and feel the person causing that familiar tune.
“J-Jungkook…” he called out.
His heart almost leaped out of surprise when the door to the door suddenly opened, revealing the last person that he wanted to see and not see today.
And like magic, he could move and breathe freely again unlike what just happened to him just a few minutes ago.
“Jimi—”
“Yoongi! You’re not going to take him back to your house. I already heard what I needed to hear from Hoseok. Besides, what are you doing here anyway?”
Jimin could only feel his breath hitch when he recognized who owned that voice. It was his brother’s voice.
And he finally understood where he was at right now — he was at his brother’s house. But wait, how did I get here? he thought. Because the last thing he remembered is that he and Hoseok went to a newly opened cafè near their work and… What happened after that? He couldn’t remember. He tried to, but his head started to hurt.
His attention went back to the two people arguing in front of him. More like, his brother is scolding Yoongi while his brother-in-law, Namjoon is trying to calm his husband down but scolding his younger brother too.
“He’s still my husband until the lawyer finalizes the papers so if you don’t mind, me and Jimin will be going home now,” says Yoongi, casually walking his way towards Jimin who could only nod in agreement since his mind is still looking for answers on what happened after he and Hoseok went into the cafè.
They were about to go downstairs when Jimin felt a sting on his wrist when it was held by his brother to stop them, or rather Jimin from getting away.
It suddenly gave Jimin a familiar feeling that his heart was beating wildly.
“You’re not taking him away!” says Jin.
“I’m not taking him away! We’re going home. Besides, Jimin doesn’t like it here. You’re only going to make it hard for him to move on when that day comes.”
“And what? Bringing him home to your supposed house you two is going to make it easy for him to understand the situation and move on. Yoongi, just leave Jimin here. It’s not like you care for him anyways if you still had him sign the divorce papers.” says Namjoon, madly eyeing his brother.
Jimin could only feel his chest getting heavier as the argument was getting way more familiar to his liking.
“Hyung, can me and Yoongi just go home, please?” Jimin says, in a not-so-obvious ‘I’m tired of this shit, can we just please end this shit’ tone.
The husbands looked at each other and a deep sigh exited their mouths while still looking at Yoongi annoyed.
“Alright, just text me once you’re at home. Be safe.” Jin exclaimed as he and Namjoon walked him out of their house leaving Yoongi walking behind them.
“Thank you. I’ll miss you, Hyung,” says Jimin and snuggles Jin.
“No need to thank me, my dear lovely brother. And yes, I’ll miss you too.”
“Thank you too, Namjoon hyung. Take care of my brother,” says Jimin facing Namjoon, giving him a soft head rub to which the latter chuckles.
“Of course, I will, Jimin. And sorry if you have to keep up with my younger brother,” exclaims Namjoon hugging Jimin.
They worryingly eyed Yoongi’s car getting far away from them with Jimin inside and due to the frustration that Jin wasn’t able to let out earlier he just automatically screamed when Namjoon closed the door.
“Come here. Let’s get you some ice cream to cool you down and I’m sorry for my stupid brother,” says Namjoon as they go to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Jimin and Yoongi maintained the awkward silence they had since they both stepped inside the car earlier. None of them is speaking and even if one of them would want to talk, it’s not like it’s an easy thing to do especially with their current situation and what had happened both in their brother’s home. But it isn’t like they could keep their silence forever, one has to break it.
“Can we stop over Hoseok-hyung?” Jimin inquired, more of like a final decision for him that they needed to go over to their friend’s house. Yoongi could only nod but deep inside him, he cannot hide his displeased.
It took thirty minutes for them to arrive outside Hoseok’s house and Jimin immediately got out of the car and rang the doorbell while calling Hoseok’s name at the same time.
“Yeah, what do–? J-Jimin?” Hoseok’s sleepily exclaimed when he saw his friend standing in front of him upon opening the door with his best friend at the back leaning toward his car.
“Hyung!” says Jimin before hugging him which catches him off guard but soon responds by hugging him back. He cautiously smiled while eyeing his best friend looking at them like he was going to punch him if only he was not his best friend. He gulped.
“Hey, what happened? Did you two fight? I left you at your brother’s house and. . and yeah, here we are, with Yoongi.” says Hoseok while rubbing Jimin’s cheek carefully to make him feel safe.
Jimin didn’t respond but hugged him even tighter like it was going to be their last.
“Thank you, Hoseok hyung for always being there for me. I’ll always be forever thankful for our friendship,” says Jimin.
Hoseok could only nod but he felt weird hearing what Jimin had said to him.
“No, Jimin. It’s me who should be thanking you for being my friend. Thank you, Jimin.” exclaims Hoseok and a deep sigh escapes his mouth, “You two should go home now. It’s getting late. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Jimin gave a faint smile with a nod before walking back towards Yoongi who opened the car door for him before facing his best friend to give a nod, indicating that they’ll be taking their leave now.
When they got home, Yoongi was sure Jimin would go straight to his room and call it a day, a thing that he would also do but right now, he’s not feeling it. He doesn’t know why. He’s somehow hoping something will happen between them that will make him and Jimin have to stay beside each other longer than usual.
And like a wish come true, he was surprised when Jimin stopped in his tracks and looked back at him with his sad and hopeful eyes. He gulped.
“T-This may sound dumb but I… can I… can we dance? I mean, it’s okay if you don’t… It’s just my head suddenly… uhm yeah, you know what? Never mi–.”
“It’s fine,” he replied and stood in front of him, looking right at Jimin’s eyes.
“So, uh…” Jimin looks at Yoongi and awkwardly figures out how he will position his hands. It’s not like this is their first time doing it. They had already danced before but it was on their wedding day and that’s just that. So he, himself is not sure why he’s asking Yoongi to dance with him.
Yoongi grabbed Jimin by the waist and they started swaying from left to right in silence when Jimin suddenly started humming a familiar tune Yoongi was sure, it was the song he heard him singing the other night.
For some reason, their dancing made Yoongi’s stomach churn and his heart was so heavy he suddenly couldn’t let go of Jimin’s hand on his. It’s like deep inside he feels he can’t let him go. He likes Jimin but he didn’t like the idea of how they started. He wants to make it right and make themselves fall in love with one another not in such a way of how they ended up on how they are doing today.
And for Jimin, he just lovingly stared at his husband, hoping the night could last and not change but he knew, that wouldn’t happen. An impossible wish.
“Thank you,” he finally spoke as he and Yoongi just stood on their place and swayed a little while his head was resting on Yoongi’s firm chest where he could hear his heartbeat. He secretly smiled.
“For what?”
“You know?” he looks at him with his doe eyes and mischievous smile.
Yoongi could only nod and caressed his hair and gulped when he noticed Jimin’s plump lips. It has always been plumpy and he knew he had to look away or else…
But before he could turn his head away, Jimin carefully held his face while gently rubbing his cheeks and looked at him in awe. Yoongi could only stare into his eyes and had both of his arms on Jimin’s waist.
“Yoongi Hyung,”
“…”
What Yoongi realized next was Jimin’s lips were already on his and before he could even respond, he already detached his lips from him and the grandfather clock they had at home suddenly created a cuckatoo noise indicating it was already midnight.
“I love you,” Jimin spoke, almost in a whispering manner.
The next morning, he woke up with an uneasy feeling on his chest. He tried to ignore it as he was trying to remember last night’s events and all that he could remember was when Jimin told him that he loved him.
He smiled but only for a second when he suddenly remembered that, he didn’t know how and why he ended up sleeping on his bed. He was pretty sure that he wasn’t tipsy or drunk from last night so why is it that he has no recollection of what happened after Jimin said I love you? Weird.
PART FOUR: DOLLHOUSE
You try to explain
But before you can start
Those cry baby tears
Come out of the dark
Someone’s turning the handle
To that faucet in your eyes
They’re pouring out
Where everyone can see
Your heart’s too big for your body
It’s why you won’t fit inside
They’re pouring out
Where everyone can see
Chapter 9
“What?” Yoongi yelled to the other person on the other line without even checking the caller ID. He’d been in a meeting the whole day and during those meetings, his phone kept on vibrating non-stop in his pants pocket which led him to yell at the other person now once the last meeting of the day ended and all board members left the room.
“Finally! Thank you for picking up your goddamn phone!” exclaimed Hoseok, frustration and sarcasm is visible in his voice which immediately made Yoongi’s eyebrows knit into one.
“What do you need?” he asks as he remains unfazed by the current situation.
“Is Jimin with you right now?”
“Why are you asking me? Aren’t you supposed to be with him instead of me?” annoyance visible in his tone.
“No, he’s not and that’s why I’m asking you. He didn’t show up to work today.”
This made Yoongi silent for a minute.
“What do you mean he didn’t show up at work today? He wasn’t sick yesterday and we both knew that, even my brother and his brother knew that too. And if he did, he will let me know.”
Hoseok went silent for a minute before a deep sigh escaped his mouth which was audible enough for Yoongi to hear.
“I’ll call him right now if you’re that worried.” he finally said.
“No, it’s no use. Do you think I haven’t done that yet?” he can somehow see Hoseok’s frustrated smirk even thou they’re not physically in front of each other.
“Then what do you want me to do? Why are you calling me then? You know you can just go to our house to check on him if you’re worried.” he exclaimed with an eye roll.
“Yoongi.”
“Hoseok.”
“This is serious for Pete’s sake! Jimin, your husband, is fucking missing!” shouted Hoseok which made Yoongi surprised even more because it is rare for his best friend to yell at someone, most especially to be mad and frustrated.
“W-What?!” Yoongi suddenly felt his heart drop when he heard the two words that his ears were able to absorb: Jimin. Missing.
“Yes, Yoongi! Congratulations! Your brain is now finally working as it should!” says Hoseok, sarcasm still visible in his tone, “And yes, he’s missing. Namjoon and Jin already went to your house earlier to check on him after I told them that he was not answering any of my calls and texts and turns out when they got there, there was no sign of Jimin. Your brother had already reported the incident to the police and now, they filed him a missing person case. On the video footage Jin got, Jimin was obviously about to get to work but it was somewhat weird that after he left the house no other video footage near the street or houses nearby where he could’ve gone was captured. Yoongi, he is missing! Now, get your ass here and act like how a husband should even when in reality, you both are gonna get di—!”
“Send me your location.” with that, he ended the call and immediately fixed his belongings to run straight to the elevator.
To say Yoongi’s heart is about to burst with fear, worry, and guilt is an understatement. He can feel himself passing out after he hears the news. Why did they tell him late about what was going on with his husband? It’s his right! He should have been the first person to know everything and anything about him!
He can feel his hands shaking and his continuous gulps that could run his mouth dry soon if he doesn’t stop what he is doing but he just can’t help it. It’s Jimin, his husband. The one that he had spent dancing with last night. The one who said I love you to him.
He anxiously bit his lip as he stepped inside his car and started driving to the location Hoseok sent him. It was the police station near to where they live.
He tried to ring Jimin’s phone but to his surprise, it was Jin who answered it. Well, Jin didn’t technically answer it, he only replied to Yoongi with a text message saying it was him.
The moment he stepped out of his car and got inside the police station, he was immediately greeted by his brother and Jin’s eyes, throwing daggers at him while Hoseok was busy talking with one of the police officers on the desk typing.
“Jin!” exclaimed Hoseok who had stopped him from talking with the police officer when he saw Jin give a hard slap to his best friend.
“This is all your fault! If only you’d been a good husband to my brother, if only you cared for Jimin to take and fetch him from his work, he wouldn’t be kidnapped! And what took you so long to answer your goddamn phone?! We’d been calling you the whole fucking day as we were so worried about my brother being missing and you. .!” Jin was cut off when Namjoon escorted him out of the station but never forgot to give his brother a disappointed look.
He gulped in fear and guilt as he took deep breaths to stop himself from shaking.
“I’m so–.”
But Hoseok cuts him off.
“Save that for Jimin’s and your parents. They are not aware of the news yet but sooner or later they will find out especially once this goes out to the news tomorrow morning.”
“Do you have any leads now as to where he might have gotten or if he was kidnapped or who the culprits are?” he asks, directed to the police officer Hoseok was speaking to earlier.
“About that, care to tell me Mr. Min why it took you long enough to answer their phone calls to report to you that your husband is missing? Are you perhaps. .”
Yoongi slammed the table in his anger.
“Are you suspecting me that I had my husband kidnap?”
“Yoongi! He’s just asking you,” reminds Hoseok.
“I didn’t, Mr. Min. I was just asking you but here you are, acting all riled up with a simple question. Also, I heard from your husband’s brother that you both are going into a divorce?”
“Well, fuck you, officer. Me and my husband may have been going into a divorce or whatnot but your job is to investigate. Not be nosy to accuse without proper evidence. I will and never in a hundred times will harm my husband because he is my husband . Get that in your fucking head!” Yoongi didn’t let the police officer reply and turned his back on them, getting out of the police station and inside his car and slamming the steering wheel in his frustration without noticing the tears running down his cheeks.
He drives back home and the moment he steps inside the house, it’s like the house is no longer lively compared to when Jimin was there. It was gloomy. Empty. Screaming of silence. He laughed bitterly as he could somehow smell Jimin’s scent lingering all over that place and hear his lovely voice.
“J-Jimin… I’m home,” he spoke and a deep sigh escaped from his mouth.
Oh, to be greeted by Yoongi was Jimin’s wish but now that he’s no longer in the house to hear his wish finally coming, it was heartbreaking.
“Jimin?” calls Yoongi as he walks towards the kitchen, hoping Jimin’s already there, probably cooking instant ramen as always.
But he got no reply.
“Jimin?” he calls again, in the library this time. He finds Jimin here quite a few times, reading some of his mangas and novels of different genres.
But then again, no reply.
“Jimin? It’s me, Yoongi. I’m home.” he calls, a bit louder this time, he can hear himself echoing the whole house, as he calls him from the staircase going to Jimin’s bedroom but no, still no reply from the person he would like to answer.
Of course, who would he be joking to? The whole house is dark, empty, and silent. No one would be in there. Jimin wouldn’t be in there. He hates scary places, especially dark places.
He felt himself walking to Jimin’s bed and instantly got wrapped into it. He covered himself with Jimin’s blanket and held his pillows tightly and oh, Jimin’s scent was so strong that Yoongi felt a void in his heart realizing that Jimin might not be kidnap but left him even before he broke them apart. Heartbreaking.
He shouldn’t have planned this whole divorce thing out. Maybe if he didn’t, if he had just shown Jimin, if he just learned and accepted that they are now basically married until one of them passes, things like this could’ve been avoided but no. So here he is now, crying and blaming all to himself.
He fished out his phone from his pocket and made himself smile for a bit before breaking himself more as he stared at pictures and videos of his husband on his phone which the other wasn’t aware of. And then, that’s when he remembered the dance they had last night. There was something with the dance he had with him like it was like their last dance.
“Jimin, please come back. I miss you. I love you .” he whispered as tears kept on falling from his eyes.
Chapter 10
Yoongi woke up from the voice that called him out of his deep slumber. The moment that he shot from the bed, he called Jimin’s name and looked from left to right and was disappointed when he was greeted by his best friend’s face.
“What the hell are you doing here?” he asks, annoyed as he prepares to get himself comfortable back in Jimin’s bed but the other doesn’t allow him, pulling him instead and dragging him out of the room, earning a couple of cusses from him. He was greeted by his brother and brother-in-law both wearing an attire like they were going on a travel while sitting on the long couch in the living area of the house.
“Fix yourself. We’re fetching, Jimin,” says Jin in a final tone of voice.Yoongi looks at them bewildered. Confusion is written on his face.
“Y-You found him? Where?”
“Gyeonggi-do,” replied Namjoon. It took him a while before he remembered that it was the same place where Jimin told him he and Hoseok would go for his next article.
“Are you sure he’s there?” he asks, more like confirming as he is trying not to get his hopes up, only to be disappointed however it was inevitable.
“Nope, but we’ll gonna try. It’s the only place I can think of Jimin will go to if he’s out to somewhere other than work or his brother’s house,” replies Hoseok with his arms crossed while leaning on the wall and eyeing Yoongi. It didn’t take a while for Yoongi to fix himself and for his brother to pack his suitcase as they felt that it might take them a while for all of them to get out of that place. It’s only a feeling but sometimes intuitions can be right.
“Are they aware already?” Yoongi asks from the back seat as he sits beside Jin who is busy staring outside while Namjoon is in the shotgun seat and Hoseok’s the one who is driving on their way to Jin and Jimin’s house.
“No, not yet. None of our parents know yet that Jimin’s missing. We can’t let them know yet. We already talked to the police officers earlier to not yet release about Jimin’s missing case as we don’t know yet how our parents will react so we’re just going to tell them when we get there that we are going on a small vacation which Jimin is already at the place hoping that they will no longer ask any question or will try to call him or we’re all dead.” explains Namjoon as he looks at the rearview to check on his husband.
“But why Gyeonggi-do?”
“Because according to Hoseok, that’s where Jimin’s next article is set at. It’s his continue or get fired article as he’s not doing great in his job lately and I wonder why,” answers Jin, eyeing Yoongi with visible annoyance at him. Yoongi could only hang his head low until they arrived at Jin and Jimin’s parents’ house and were greeted by two loving elderly. This only led to Yoongi feeling more guilt as he could see how happy they were seeing them not until they asked about Jimin’s whereabouts.
“He’s already there at the place we’re going to,” answered Jin with a gulp.
“Oh, I see. Where is that? Why haven’t you guys told us?”
“It’s just a small vacation, Eomma and it’s a sudden invitation from Jimin and Yoongi however Jimin surprised us by going there first, probably to enjoy the place alone,” added Namjoon and put his arm around Jin’s shoulder to relax him and avoid suspicious reactions or comments from the two elderly.
“We see. So where’s this place at?”
“Gyeonggi-do,” replied Hoseok. And their surprise reaction didn’t go unnoticed by the four. Like, it was in a bad way.
“Tell Jimin to go back. Just look for another place for your vacation.”
“Huh? Why is that, Eomma? Appa?” asks Jin, with an obvious curiosity and fear growing on his spine.
“Nothing. Just tell him to go back. Like, right now.”
“But, Eomma?!” Jin stomped his feet, acting like a child having tantrums.
“Jin! Just do what me and your Eomma say. Call Jimin right now and tell him to go back.”
“Uhm, Ahjussi? If you don’t mind me asking, what’s with Gyeonggi-do?” asks Hoseok, with his heart about to burst out from his chest due to curiosity and fear. The elderly couple looks at each other.
“It’s a bad place. A bad town. You guys shouldn’t be there, especially Jimin.”
“Why?”
“Because some—!” the elderly man was cut off by his wife.
“There’s an urban legend called the Dollhouse. People who go there that aren’t locals are being reported missing. It’s a bad house. Bad, very bad.” answers the wife with a gulp.
“But, how come? If my memory is correct, we used to live there up until Jimin was born,” says Jin with his eyebrows meeting each other.
“Y-You still remember?” Jin nodded, “Of course. We’d lived there so obviously I will remember it.”
But none of the two elderly dared to answer and instead reiterate to the four of them, more likely to Yoongi to call his husband and ask him to go home now but Yoongi was able to make an excuse that it would be much better if they will pick him up to know that he is home safe. After half an hour of protesting, the elderly couple finally agreed and let them go.
“They didn’t answer my question of why we left Gyeonggi-do when Jimin was born. Not that I’m trying to be nosy but doesn’t it seem weird that they suddenly acted like they knew something we don’t?” exclaims Jin, who is now sitting beside Namjoon at the back while Hoseok and Yoongi are at the front.
“What’s funny to me is that they spoke about the infamous Dollhouse which is Jimin’s article in which is the reason why we got ourselves in Gyeonggi-do in the first place.” They continued to drive for the next couple of hours before they decided to stop over at a restaurant.
“Down the rabbit hole?” reads Hoseok at the big signage of the restaurant that they were about to go inside. Jin chuckled, “I like it. It’s like Jimin’s Alice and we’re about to follow him somewhere we all shouldn’t be in”
“And we’re about to go deep. Very deep,” added Namjoon. They all went inside whilst Yoongi followed them. He’d been quiet since Jin told him that Jimin’d been doing bad at work lately. He didn’t know anything about it and if he could only go back in time, he would no longer ask him to sign those divorce papers that he had signed. That event could’ve stressed poor Jimin out more. What a stupid husband Yoongi is.
“Hey, uhm, silly question. Did you by any chance see this fine-looking boy?” asks Hoseok to the waiter after he got all of their orders as he handed him his phone with a picture of Jimin.
“Sorry, I didn’t. But he somehow looks familiar to me. Is he a celebrity, perhaps?” asks the waiter.
“No, but maybe in another lifetime he would be,” replied Hoseok with a chuckle. It took fifteen minutes before all of their orders were placed in front of them by the same waiter.
“So, not to be nosy or anything, where are you guys off to?”
“Gyeonggi-do,” replied Namjoon.
“Oh? You know, my family and I went on a vacation there before. The place is good and a typical vacation place but, nevermind.” says the waiter, who looks like he remembered something he doesn’t want to remember.
“What do you mean? Is there some scary shit out there?” asks Jin, curiosity is visible on his face.
“I don’t know if you’re going to believe me or what but maybe you’ll do if you see it with your own eyes, just see this as either a warning or a good old piece of information to share on a campfire with friends but, yeah. There is. It’s called the Dollhouse. I’d been there before, not just like imaginary but inside and I kid you not, I never ran faster than my whole life and I’ll never, in my life, would want to experience it again. Scary as shit, bro.”
The four of them listen to the waiter’s story intently and Hoseoks eyes widen in shock and immediately fishes out his phone, trying to search for something until he finally does and almost shoves it in front of the waiter’s face.
“Is this perhaps you?!” He showed him the article that made Jimin decide to choose Dollhouse as his make-or-break article for their work.Like a mirror, the waiter’s eyes also widened in surprise and almost screamed gleefully that someone had read his comment on a website weirdos like him during his teenage years.
“Yes! Yes, that’s mine! Oh my god! I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed.
“Oh, Jimin will be very happy to meet you if he’s here with us,” says Hoseok. But the smile on the waiter’s face disappeared when he heard the name Hoseok mentioned.
“J-Jimin?”
“Yeah, that’s our friend’s name. The one that I show you the picture of earlier.” The waiter’s face turns pale and all of them look at him with curiosity.
“Is your friend still there?” he asks, worry is written on his face.
“We’re not sure but we’re about to find out. Why? Is something wrong?”
The waiter immediately nods his head, “Go get your friend out there in Gyeonggi-do. Hopefully, he hasn’t seen the Dollhouse yet. If he does, there’s no turning back. He’ll be stuck there forever. I’m not scaring you but there’s something happened to me there that I wasn’t able to put on that website before but I could still clearly remember it. My name isn’t Jimin but what I knew or probably many others knew that had gone missing will know that when you’re in front of that Dollhouse, you will hear whispers of agony calling a certain name and that name was Jimin.”
“Y-You’re kidding, right?” asks Jin, but is now getting scared of what the waiter has just shared.
“Unfortunately, no. So go get your friend out there before it’s too late. He’s in deep danger.”
Chapter 11
“Don’t tell me you believe what that waiter said?” asks Yoongi, sarcasm lacing in his voice. They immediately get back on the road after they eat, worrying about what the waiter had told and warned them about. It’ll be a nice prank if he’s just making fun of them but no, Hoseok knew that what the waiter had told them could really be somewhat true and now, he was debating if he should to his friends what had happened to when they were at and after they went from Gyeonggi-do.
He doesn’t want to scare them but they also must know too, that’s what he thought.
“Hobi, if there’s anything you want to talk about, go ahead instead of keeping it to yourself,” says Namjoon who had been eyeing him since they went back on the road.
“Jimin…” he starts.
“Hmm?”
“There’s something weird happened to him when we were in Gyeonggi-do.”
Silence.
They could hear Hoseok’s gulp and deep sigh escaping his mouth.
“In what way?” inquired Jin. Yoongi doesn’t even bulge to look at Hoseok’s direction and instead continues to look outside but listens to what his best friend is about to say.
“You know how we got ourselves in Gyeonggi-do, right? It’s because of Jimin’s article - the Dollhouse. We went there to hopefully find the said infamous house but we had no luck and then we got ourselves in a local restaurant there and an old lady warned us like what the waiter did earlier on that resto about the house, telling stories of people who went there trying to look for a house that we’re also looking to find and gone missing afterward and funny how the old lady knew we were journalists. I guess, there’s a trend to it that she finally figured.” says Hoseok, a little chuckle escaping his mouth.
“And on that same day, after we ate at that local restaurant, it rained that day so we weren’t able to gather any other information aside from what the old lady had told us about the Dollhouse, and then I remembered falling asleep, next thing I knew. .”
“What happened, Hobi? What did you see?” asks Namjoon.
“Right in front me, Jimin was sleepwalking and talking, like there’s someone in front of him that he’s talking to! And you know what freaked me out? Is when he acted like someone was choking him to death! And that’s when I slapped him— real hard, that he woke up from his dream and while we were on our way back home, he asked me if he had amnesia that almost got the both of us in an accident because of my surprise of what he has just asked me, so, Jin, did he had amnesia?”
The car ride got an awkward silence again before Jin started to get mad at what Hoseok had asked him.
“Have you gone nuts, Hobi? Jimin? Jimin, my brother, who’s well taken care of by me and my parents and was with me most of the time, will get into an accident that will leave him having amnesia. Are you fucking kidding me, huh? And fuck you for almost getting my brother into danger!” he almost get ahold of Hoseok’s hair to pull it when his husband, Namjoon stop him and calmed him down.
“Sorry, okay? I didn’t mean to do that! I was just shocked at what he had asked but then he also told me about the dream that had him sleepwalking. He said he was able to get himself in front of the Dollhouse and that there was a man who told him that he was his husband but it wasn’t Yoongi.”
“That’s probably due to the stress of what’s happening to him. His mind could’ve created sort of a man that isn’t Yoongi to you know, relieve himself on the real world. Dreams make us see what our subconscious yearns that we can’t when we’re awake.” explained Namjoon. Both Hoseok and Jin nodded at the same time.
“But then, I felt something’s off with Jimin after we got back from Gyeonggi-do. The other day before he went missing, he was having a bad day at work so I invited him to a newly opened pastel cafè shop near our office and knowing Jimin for a couple of years, I hadn’t seen him the way I had seen him before. And I remember that before I got him into your place, he was acting very childlike. Throwing tantrums here and there and then, the most surprising part, I heard him sing! I had never thought I’d be able to hear his angelic voice when he sings. Like, how did he keep or do you guys keep a secret from us that he had such a lovely voice?”
“Sing? My brother sings?” asks Jin surprised by what he had just heard.
“Uhm, yeah. Exactly what I had just said,” says Hoseok as he raises a brow.
“But I had never heard him sing in my whole life. Believe it or not but that’s the fact.”
“Then he probably kept it a secret to all of us then, don’t you think? But why would he do that? Also…” Hoseoks looks up to Yoongi, debating to himself whether he should also this other piece of information.“I don’t know if you notice it too, Yoongi but Jimin has a bandage on his left hand. What happened to it? Do you know? Because by the looks of it, he seems in pain like he’s dragging it.”
Yoongi finally looks to Hoseok’s direction.
“I was about to ask the same thing to you too. I noticed it after you two went back from your one-day trip. I thought you know what happened to it but by the looks of it, you don’t. And yeah, I also heard Jimin sing and not just sing, he also danced. It was really good like it took me by surprise. But what caught my attention was, when I saw him doing the things that I mentioned, he was also in front of the Dollhouse, you know, the toy that was given to me by one of my clients thinking that I already had a child and I remember how Jimin kept eyeing it when he first saw it.”
“And here the both of us, felt something weird about Jimin when he bid us goodbye when you, Yoongi fetched him from our hose,” says Jin.
“I also had the same feeling when they both went to my house on that same day I bought Jimin to yours. The way how he was thanking me like he was going to some faraway land,” added Hoseok.
“I share the same feeling with you three exactly how Jimin acted when we got home. It was weird how he came up to me and asked me to join him in a dance and he was humming the same song I heard him sing the other night and it was so weird, so so weird especially when…”
Yoongi wasn’t able to finish his sentence when he remembered the exact scenario that happened that night it tightened his whole chest making it difficult for him to swallow or breathe.
“We have to get Jimin back. By hook or by crook. We have to find that damn Dollhouse.” They all agreed and continued on their way back to Gyeonggi-do where it all started for Jimin.
PART FIVE: DOLLHOUSE
I’m not a bad guy
So don’t treat me bad if I’m feeling sad, alright?
Please don’t be mad if I don’t smile back, alright?
If I fuck up my words, don’t think I’m absurd, alright?
Alright?
I’m physically exhausted
Tired of my knuckles beating
I’m chewing gum to pass this time of sadness
Can’t you see it? You’re too busy seeking selfish wishes
Don’t care how I’m feeling
You write me up and say it’s love
And I can’t believe it
Chapter 12
“He’s asleep now.” says the tall-looking man to the other who is busy playing with his piano. He nods in acknowledgement but then continues to play even when there’s no need for him to lure any victims anymore nor the person that he loves is already sleeping in his room.
“Jungkook, are you sure you’re no longer going to continue the contract?” asks the man, sitting on a velvet couch near the grand piano, watching his other half get lost in the tune he is playing.
“You know you can have him all you want now that he’s here but for how long? You still don’t have a human body not until you reached the goal of collecting one hudred human souls as what was written on our contract,” he added, placing down the goblet filled with red wine that somehow mysteriously got into his hold.
The said human slammed his fingers on the piano keys in anger.
“I know. You don’t have to remind me every second of each passing hour. I haven’t forgotten our contract yet, devil .” he replied, sarcasm obvious in his voice before standing up and walking away, clearly for the devil he knew where he was going— to Jungkook’s bedroom. The said man shouldn’t have been annoyed by the last word Jungkook had said but it did. Yes, he’s a devil who offered Jungkook a contract, same with his mother but why does the other didn’t see him more than the devil after everything that he had done for him? Being with a human, correcting, with a previous, and going to be human again anytime soon is such a pain for the devil himself that he’s starting to feel emotions when he shouldn’t have.
“Correction, I have a name and it’s Taehyung,” he whispered.
To say the devil is annoyed by Jimin’s look-a-like sudden appearance is an understatement. He was madly frustrated about it. Out of all the people and the last human that Jungkook could have encountered, why it is a human who looks exactly like Jungkook’s past lover? He knew the original one already died more than years ago because it was he, the devil himself, who killed the poor boy due to their mother’s request, blindly thinking and believing that if he had his son killed, Jungkook would stop his infatuation to the other and will save his son’s life going to hell with a bonus of getting their family more rich and popular in their time but no. It was just a simple contract that he had the poor mother lured into but he somehow ended up making another deal with the other son and that is no other than Jungkook himself, begging him to be human once again thinking that Jimin would soon come back to life and get back with him.
Love blinded his way of thinking and living and the devil took advantage of it without thinking of the consequences of spending too long with Jungkook. He didn’t know when and where it exactly started to happen but he found himself falling in love with the other. Who wouldn’t? He’s a fine-looking man with delicate features and a view of his love however, it wasn’t Taehyung.
Always reminding him why he made the contract with him. He’s thankful that only he and his dead mother know that he was the one who killed his past lover and that the contract they had made wasn’t going to happen because he plan to keep Jungkook to himself once they’re in hell. No Jimin in the picture. Just the two of them.
Meanwhile, Jungkook had been staring at Jimin’s sleeping figure with a little light coming from the moon touching his face. He sat there in silence and smiled to himself. He still couldn’t believe his eyes that his lover had come back just as he had thought Jimin himself would be doing. They’re both madly in love with each other that no one could come in between. He slowly moved his hand to Jimin’s face and caressed his cheek while humming a tune to make Jimin comfortable in his sleep, not wanting to wake him up anytime soon or he’ll go back to where he should be. There’s no other place he should be other than their house, that’s what Jungkook thought.
He’s the only one who owns his husband and no other than else and he smiles to himself knowing that if a human gets into the Dollhouse for the whole day and night, they will completely forget their memories before coming in here and Jimin doesn’t need any of those now. What Jimin needs is only him. He gritted his teeth in anger as he could not wait to remove the ring that his Jimin wore. It doesn’t suit him. What suits him are the couple rings that Jungkook had been wearing for long, long years now.
Jimin might not remember it happening, but he was able to get himself in front of the Dollhouse, if only the devil, Taehyung hadn’t distracted him, he could have already got him on the first time he landed his feet on his territory. It annoys him, really but he is happy that Taehyung made it up to him by granting his wish to get a hold of Jimin even from far away and allowing him to disturb Jimin’s presence only to lure him back to him which eventually happened and for that, he’s thankful for Taehyung for doing that for him but he’s not going to tell him.
It was part of his obligation to help him too for him to gather one hundred human souls as stated in their contract for him to be human again.
He and Taehyung share eating the souls that he is collecting. They’re partners in crime if that couldn’t be more obvious.Jungkook could no longer wait for Jimin to wake up remembering nothing but making him remember what the two of them were and creating new memories together to catch up on those lost years that they should have been if only his mother didn’t kill him.
While he was patiently waiting for Jimin to wake up, unbeknownst to him was Taehyung peeking into the door room and gulping in annoyance. He has to remind Jungkook about their deal and get rid of the person sleeping soundly on Jungkook’s bed or he’ll kill him once again without any contract to do the deed just for Jungkook to be finally his and only his.
Chapter 13
“And we’re here!” exclaimed Hoseok, tired but satisfied that they were able to reach their destination before it got too dark. The only problem was there were no longer inns that would want to take them in which led them to give each other weird looks.
“So what are we going to do now? Sleep uncomfortably inside the fucking car because no one in this place would want to let us stay for the night? Goodness, it’s just six in the evening!” says Jin, frustration obvious in his voice.
“Did you have this kind of problem when you and Jimin went here?” asks Yoongi as he roams his eyes to every house and establishment surrounding them until his eyes landed on a somehow nostalgic small toy shop that is in the corner of the plaza to where the four of them stood. He doesn’t understand why but his feet would want to get inside the shop.
“No, because we were able to get ourselves an inn when we arrived in the morning. Oh wait, so they’re not accepting non-locals here if it’s past the daylight?” says Hoseok, more of like asking himself in his realization.
“Exactly what I’d been thinking!” Jin butted in as he exhaled loudly, letting anyone other than them know how annoyed he was with their situation.
“Why don’t we just ask some of the locals here instead if they know some inns that could take people like us past the daylight?” Namjoon suggested and as if on cue, Yoongi started walking towards the toy shop to which the three started following him from behind.
The moment Yoongi pushed the door of the tip shop, it created a familiar door chime noise, letting the owner know that there were customers who had just gone in.
“Hello? How may I. .?” greeted the old man while holding the side of his round glasses to probably take a good look at the people who just went in when his eyes landed on a familiar face. Two, actually but he ignored the first one who he immediately recognized first.
“Jinnie?” asks the old man and Jin immediately knits his brows into one and curiously looks at the old man.
No one calls him by that nickname anymore not unless…
“You remember me?” he asks, pointing to himself as surprise is fully written on his face.
“Of course, young man! You and your parents used to come here to look for toys to purchase until you finally found your favorite of them all which hopefully you still have, RJ, the white alpaca my wife made?” says the man giving Jin his warm smile.
Jin immediately jumped in glee when he realized who this old man was in front of him.
“Oh, good to see you, Ji-hoon nim! It’s been a long time! I almost forgot about you but here you are, you still remembered me.” says Jin with teary eyes and hugged his former favorite person in town other than his parents.
“Glad you’re back, Jinnie! Now, who are these people with you? Your friends?” simply eyeing the other familiar man who is now busy checking out the wooden boy toy he named Getto.
“This one right here is my husband, Namjoon. I know, shocking but it is what it is and this one on my left is Hobi and the other one beside him is Yoongi.”
“U-Uh, yes? Hello! Nice to meet you.” Yoongi greeted and bowed in surprise when he heard his name being called out by Jin and Namjoon and Hoseok couldn’t help but laugh at him but soon followed in greeting the old man.
“So, Yoongi, huh?”
“Uh, yeah?” Yoongi looks at the old man, confusion is evident on his face.
The old man cleared his throat and invited them for a hot chocolate as he officially ended the shop’s hours and closed the door so no one could disturb them. The shop itself is also the house of the old man to which sadly, he is the only one living alone now. His wife already died due to old age and he’s just hanging on the edge.
“So, you and your parents are back in town now, huh?”
“Actually, no. The four of us are just here to look for my younger brother who happens to be Yoongi’s husband.”
“Oh, the baby that your mother was carrying at the time you guys left?”
“Yeah. We’re not exactly hundred percent sure if he’s here but it doesn’t hurt to try. It’s just that before my brother went missing, this is the last place he and Hobi went, to look for a certain house that my brother was supposed to write about in his article.”
“The Dollhouse ?”
“Uhm, yeah. How did you know? Was this a normal thing to happen in this town?” asks Namjoon.
The old man nodded which made the four hold their breath. So, it’s true? they all thought at the same time while looking at each other.
“Out of curiosity Jinnie, what does he look like?”
“An angel! Here, I’ll show you.” Jin excitedly fished his phone from his pocket and looked for a photo of Jimin to show it to the old man, “Here.”.
After the old man saw the picture Jin showed him, his hands started to shake nervously which all of them noticed.
“Is there something wrong?” asks Hoseok.
“You and his brother shouldn’t have come here in the first place.” he says looking at Hoseok, gulping before continuing, “How long is this brother of yours gone missing?” switching back his attention to Jin.
“It’s been a day now. Why?”
He handed the phone back to Jin before standing up and going to one of the bookshelves that were in there, pulling out a thick, hard-engraved book that seemed very old by the looks of it. How many years had this book been for? He flipped through its pages before taking a seat back.
“This toy shop had been passed down to generations which means, this book that I’m holding right now is too, as well. This keeps all the records of the people that had been residents here and, here. Just see for yourself.” he pushed the book to the four who immediately checked out the opened page that had a sketch of two familiar faces that is in there.
“Holy fuck, is that my brother?!” exclaimed Namjoon, almost falling off from his chair.
“No shit, Sherlock! He exactly looks like Jimin!” added Jin, scanning the sketch.
“Oh no, oh no! I don’t like where this is going!” says Hoseok, shaking his head in fear, making sure that he is not dreaming and that this isn’t reality.
“What are their names?” inquired Yoongi who also couldn’t believe what his eyes were seeing.
“Same name as your name right now. Yoongi and Jimin.” replied the old man.
Chapter 14
“Here, take this with you.” says the old man handling Yoongi a fire lamp as the four of them get out of the old toy shop, “Make sure you all come back along with Jimin.”
They all nodded in response and the three started to walk while leaving Yoongi behind as the old man called him before he finally left.
“Make it right, Yoongi. Jimin is out there waiting for you to save him.”
“I know,” he said and bid the old man goodbye and followed the three who were already a couple of steps ahead.
“I hope you guys make it in time before the other completely get a hold of him.” whispers the old man before he gets back inside the shop and his home.
“Out of all things that could happen, why this?” asks Hoseok dramatically to himself but audible enough for the others to hear.
“You know, you can just stay with Ji-hoon nim if you’re that scared but if anything happens to us or my brother, hear this as a warning that I will always be there under your bed waiting for one of your legs to fall so I could pull you down,” says Jin sarcastically which made Yoongi and Namjoon laugh a bit as Hoseok almost pull Jin’s hair in frustration.
“Fuck you, Jin!” spats Hoseok.
“Sorry, I already have a dick in me 24/7, right babe?” replied Jin playfully which made Hoseok cringe and pretend to puke out of Jin’s blatant words.
“So since we don’t have a map and we’re almost away from the town, where do we go now? It’s not like it’s day that we can just roam around and I mean, me and Jimin weren’t physically able to find that goddamn Dollhouse! It’s not like we’re about to see it just because it’s night! Wow, what a typical horror type of shit.” exclaims Hoseok. The wind blew hard the moment they stepped passed the bended trees, acting like they were gates. And the leaves, oh how come it is glowing? Maybe because of the moonlight reflecting towards the trees making the leaves glow, right?
“You know, why don’t we just continue this tomorrow?” suggests Hoseok who is now tightly holding Yoongi’s left arm like his life depends on it in fear that some type of ghost will magically show right in front of them to scare them away.
“Hobi! You know how we don’t have much time! You, we, all heard what they had got to say about that freaking goddamn Dollhouse! I couldn’t afford to lose my brother to some type of murderer ghost who couldn’t get over the death of his lover! Besides, we also have Yoongi here to knock some senses out of Jimin just in case.” says Jin, eyeing Yoongi who he had never looked so desperate in his whole life and the reason for it was because of his younger brother’s life at stake.
Of course, Yoongi may or may have not developed feelings for Jimin but it’s obvious that he cares for him in his little way.He might not understand why Yoongi decided to get a divorce with Jimin but he knows it isn’t because Yoongi doesn’t give a shit about Jimin. He just doesn’t know what could be the reason behind why he decided to do what he did.
“Damn it! It’s already nine p.m. in the fucking evening! This is where the scary ass stuff happens in movies! It’s like the ghosts have their schedule of scaring!” says Hoseok who keeps on looking from left and right when it’s him and Jin who is positioned in the center and the ones on the sides are much more vulnerable to such attacks from anyone but isn’t complaining. Yoongi’s brows knit into one when he heard a faint tune not far away from where they were, which led him to slowly walk to find where it was coming from. This made the three look at him like something off was going on.
“Y-Yoongi?” calls Hoseok but the other seems completely unfazed, still busy looking for something in the middle of nowhere.
“Aren’t you hearing that?”
“Hearing what?” asks Namjoon, while trying to make himself hear what his brother is hearing at that moment.
“Here. This way,” says Yoongi and leads them to a couple of thick bushes. Yoongi pushed the bush open into two and there, revealed the Dollhouse.
“H-Holy shit!” murmurs Hoseok as all of their eyes round in surprise at how beautiful the house stand and is shining because of the moonlight.
“No way! This looks exactly like a Dollhouse,” exclaimed Jin, mesmerized by the beauty of the household. But all of them suddenly panicked when they heard footsteps getting near to them.
“Hide!” says Namjoon and they all followed his order.
“Play dead!” squeaked Hoseok, and the three looked at him like they wanted to stab him.
“Why play when I can make it real for you guys?” says Taehyung jokingly when he stands in front of them. No emotions can be seen on his face not until his eyes landed on Yoongi that he smirked.
He knows his beauty captured Yoongi’s liking and for that, he’ll take advantage of it and use it against Jimin’s look-a-like to fulfill his plan to be with Jungkook.
PART SIX: DOLLHOUSE
Can’t you see?
I only want the ones who never see me
But I’m happy
I love playing these games until my heart bleeds
It bleeds jelly
’Cause you don’t want someone to eat your cookie
Can someone please
Find him for me, find him for me?
Chapter 15
“Guys, where is Yoongi?” asks Hoseok in panic when he wakes up in an unfamiliar bedroom alongside Jin and Namjoon.
“Forget about Yoongi for a minute, help us unlock the door!” says Jin as he tries to push and pull the door with force.
“What do you mean?”
“We’re locked up, Hobi! I don’t know how it happened but could you remember what happened last before we ended up here?” asks Namjoon.
Hoseok thinks for a moment before he starts cursing in fear.
“Oh, shit, shit, shit! Yoongi! He must have been brought somewhere by that weird handsome-looking guy! He must have done something bad to him already! How are we going get ourselves out here now? How about Jimin?” he asks, panic is very obvious as he walks back and forth.
“Hobi, Hobi! Calm the fuck down, it’s not going to help us in the situation we’re in right now,” says Jin as he now trying to push a small cabinet against the door to possibly and hopefully help them get out.
“Damn this motherfucking house! Damn, whoever lived in here before!” he added.
After a while of trying to open the door but having no luck in doing so, they all exhaustedly laid themselves on the floor and looked at the big bedroom the three of them were in. It was very dollhouse-like with a hint of vintage but with pastel colors.
Jin and Namjoon fell asleep while Hobi decided to look around, trying to find a tool that could help them get out of the room and the house itself alive as well as save Yoongi and Jimin from whoever and whatever the house has to offer to them.
While wandering around the room, he accidentally discovered a secret passageway beside the table that holds a flower vase with nothing in it. It was almost unnoticeable not until you try to feel the wall with your hands is only the time you will know that something is uneven and not right.
He slightly pushed it thinking it would make a noise but it didn’t. He carefully tried to look at what was inside but because it was dark, he tried to look for his phone in his pocket and use it as a light.
He absentmindedly went inside without thinking that the hidden passageway might close on its own. But alas, it was already too late. He was already on the other side of the room. He tried to bang the door with his fists and scream for help but got no response.
Scared as he already was earlier, he tried to gulp it and think positively that he’d find another passageway to get himself out of the darkroom which he did. Yes, he did but the room he got himself into was more of like a caged room. No windows at all like the room that he was in earlier with the two.
It was filled with books, dresses, and toys. Hoseok’s going to bet that this is a female’s room by the looks and feel of it. But why is it hidden? he thought to himself.
After a while of trying to figure out where the exit might be he finally gave up and decided to sit at the end of the abandoned bed. His eyes roamed the room until they landed on the pillow where he noticed a thick book under it, he carefully took it turns out it was a journal of the person who happened to live there before - it was no other than Jimin . As soon he as opened the book, a strong wind coming from nowhere gushed into his face making him freeze in fear but then, he decided for at least once in his life to be brave for Jimin.
Chapter 16
Yoongi is sitting in a room filled with antique pieces of furniture. He knows they are antique but it doesn’t seem and feel like it. He can’t see it as vintage when it feels like it’s the present they’re living to. Funny how it seems that way.
His eyes landed back to the person sitting in front of him. He had been eyeing Yoongi since he bought him in this room. Not leaving any details that he may miss once he blinks.
“Is Jimin going to be here any minute now?” asks Yoongi looking at the door not far from where they both are. He’s hoping this man in front of him is not keeping him from wasting his time. He needs to see his husband and get him out of here with his best friend and brothers.
Taehyung sighed and lazily placed his chin on top of his clasped hands.
“I’ll be honest with you even though it’s not in my nature, to be honest, Jimin, your Jimin is with my Jungkook. I brought you here so you could help me get rid of your Jimin off of Jungkook.”
Yoongi suspiciously eyed Taehyung.
“And why do you think I’ll help you when it was you two who got Jimin here in the first place?”
Taehyung scoffed.
“Us? Who said it is us who got your Jimin here when it is him who just magically showed up out of nowhere and ruined everything I was looking forward to?”
Now it was Yoongi’s turn to scoff.
“Oh, I’m sorry my husband ruined your plans when you could’ve prevented it from happening if you’re that eager not to let Jimin get near to your Jungkook.”
“You have a point however due to the contract I can’t just say no to him otherwise the deal will not be fulfilled.”
“What deal?”
“None of your business.”
Silence.
“I’ll get Jimin with or without anyone’s help. I’m not going to make a deal with you because I don’t know who you are and what you are capable of which I might regret later on.”
“Wise,” murmured Taehyung under his breath with a smirk.
“Now that we are clear, can you let go of me now? I need to find where Jimin is.”
“Why find him when I know exactly where he is at? He’s in Jungkook’s room.”
“He— what?!” exclaimed Yoongi as he stood, getting himself ready to get out of the room and leave Taehyung behind.
“Relax. It’s not that Jungkook’s going to do something with a sleeping body.”
“Sleeping?”
“He put Jimin to sleep. The catch is, that you only have a few hours left before your Jimin wakes up however when he does, all memories he has before going here will all be erased making it easier for Jungkook to make him believe he is his Jimin. So if I were you, just let me help you get Jimin out of here.”
“Thank you but no,” he replied before finally getting out of the room to look where possibly Jungkook’s room or his friends’ whereabouts might be.
He has a few hours left. He has to get Jimin out of this place or he’ll forever regret not letting his husband know how much he means to him.
Chapter 17
When Jin and Namjoon woke up they immediately looked for Hoseok but he was nowhere to be found. The funny thing is, the door that was hard to open before they fell asleep finally opened, and because of that, they thought Hoseok might have wandered somewhere to what they exactly did. If only they knew where he went.
“Where are they? It doesn’t seem like there are any living humans here except us,” says Jin while holding hands with Namjoon.
“They might be somewhere here inside this goddamn house. We just need to figure out where and hopefully we don’t run too soon to the people we should be avoiding.”
“Huh? Who should we avoid?”
“The man named Jungkook and the other one who took Yoongi somewhere.”
“Oh yeah, you’re right.“While the two continued to walk along the empty hallway they suddenly heard a door open not far from where they were and because of the rush of fear, Namjoon opened one of the locked rooms near them and pulled Jin inside not forgetting to silently close the door even when they’re in a rush to hide. Both of them held their breath while silently leaning their ears on the door, praying for their lives not to be busted by whoever the person was outside who unfortunately stopped inconveniently outside the room they were both in.
The couple looks at each other. Namjoon held tight to Jin’s hand with a smile to calm the other down amidst the impending trouble with the unknown man on the other side of the door. After almost three minutes of intense fear, the stranger finally left and continued with their task, leaving the two behind. Namjoon sighs in relief.
“That was close,” says Jin.
“It sure is,” Jin roamed his eyes inside the room they were in and figured it somewhat resembled an office room so he quietly looked around while Namjoon followed behind as he kept his guard up.
“Hey, look at this,” says Jin, handing a picture frame to Namjoon who took it.
“Is this…?”
“Yes, it’s
them . It’s their family picture.“
“They look so picture-perfect.”
“And the girl looks exactly like Jimin,” says Jin, smiling not believing how the said female resembles his brother perfectly. Namjoon silently stared into the picture which made Jin curious and a little scared of how intense his husband’s stare was at the picture.
“You alright, Joonie?”
“No. This picture… This girl right here that you said looks exactly like Jimin… She is not a “She” but rather a “He”, exactly what that old friend of yours from the toy shop said. He didn’t mention a girl in his story and he is right. Here, have a look at what he is wearing. It might not be that obvious but girls in the past do not wear pants inside their dresses. They wear bloomers, not pants.“ Jin took a great look at what his husband was telling him and shock was obvious in his face when he realized he was right.
“And look how his mom at the back holds his shoulders and how uncomfortable he is in this picture. The couple doesn’t seem loving to each other if you ask me and don’t get me started with the boy beside Jimin. He looks like a goner.”
“But they’re all smiling! It seems to me they are a happy family. If people in the past do not have eyes like you, Joonie, no one would suspect on how fake they are,” says Jin.
While Jin is busy finding other pictures inside the drawer’s desk that they could use to solve the mystery this house has for them in order for them to escape, Namjoon notices a Dollhouse behind one of the couches and crouches down to have a good look at it. As soon as Namjoon opened the dollhouse, it activated a lullaby inside the said toy— kind of resembling a music box that got Jin’s attention especially when an orb of light suddenly floated in the air.
“What the hell is that?” he whispered.
“I don’t know.” The couple stood in shock and Namjoon almost fainted when the little orb of light transformed into a ghost version of Jimin. The body is heavily translucent.
“H-How…? Jimin?!”
Jimin’s ghosts command them to shush as he moves towards somewhere that got Jin wondering if it is his brother or the Jimin that passed decades ago.
“What are you doing?!” asks Namjoon, terrified, when he gets back to his senses when Jin tries to follow the ghost.
“What do you think am I doing, Joonie?” he deadpanned, showing him the obvious.
“We can’t just follow a ghost just because he looks like your brother! What if he is not what we thought he was? What if he is the bad guy pretending to be your brother?”
“Oh, please! A bad guy who will hide inside the Dollhouse?” asks Jin with his arms crossed. Namjoon sighed in defeat.
“Alright! You win, but if we get in trouble…”
“Then we’ll find a way to escape together,” says Jin squeezing his husband’s hand as they walk towards the ghost who was somewhat waiting for them to follow him.

Chapter 18
Nine decades and ninety-nine years ago, a well-known rich, prominent family, had lived in Gyeonggi-do. The said family was picture-perfect and envied by everybody who knew them. They were idolized so to speak. But are they?
Park Iseul and Park Dae had been married for almost ten years however within those years of pretending to be a loving couple, they haven’t been able to have a child of their own. During their time, if a couple hadn’t had a child yet, either one of them was infertile or one might be having an affair behind one’s back and to hide this shameful piece of information from everyone they always just had to tell people that they’re busy getting themselves to be richer than they already are for their future heir but the truth is, Iseul just don’t see Dae as his wife that could give him an heir especially that they only got married because of their parents. Simply put, he doesn’t want nor love her just as how Dae simply wants him to be.
And like what was said, there are only two reasons that people believe as to why a couple might not have a child, and for the said couple, one was true. Iseul was having an affair behind Dae’s back and she was aware of it but had to be blind about it and pretend that she was okay, that nothing was ruining the picture-perfect image their family had.
The said affair provided the Park with an heir— Jungkook. His real mother for some reason disappeared and no one knew about her as everyone thought Jungkook was the son of Iseul and Dae. Only the couple knew who the mistress was.
Three years after Jungkook came into the picture, another one came— Jimin. Now, he is not a child from another affair of the Father but rather a true child of Iseul and Dae. However as happy as Iseul is now that he has two male heirs, Dae isn’t happy at all. Ever since she was a kid, she wants to have a daughter when she grow up and that doesn’t happen especially since she does not want his son to be like his father so as weird and disapproving Iseul is, she trained Jimin to be feminine rather than masculine.
It started with little gestures until she moved to his clothing and ended up seeing Jimin as a female and not a male. Iseul doesn’t approve of it behind closed doors but has to go along with what Dae wants everyone to see when they’re in public that their son is a female— a soft, fragile little girl that everyone adores including his older stepbrother who is starting to simply admire his little brother more than he should.
Dae succeeded with what she wanted to happen and what she wanted everyone to see. She made herself believe that she gave birth to a girl and not a boy and that somehow made her happy. But of course, Iseul still kept on having quiet affairs behind her back which he thought she didn’t know but she did and she didn’t like it so she started to see bottles of liquor as her friend. The name? Whiskey.
Chapter 19
Iseul kept on having affairs and Dae kept on pretending not to know and continue on her show of being a loving wife and mother to Jungkook and Jimin when in reality, it’s all Jimin she cared about and Iseul to love her back. She just has to pretend she likes Jungkook so she will not get to her husband’s bad side. She knows how Iseul loves having Jungkook rather than their child— Jimin.
“Eomma, why can’t I play outside as Jungkook hyung does with his friends?” asks Jimin who’s peering outside the windows of their mansion while holding his gray bunny stuffie Dae got him.
“Because girls don’t and shouldn’t act rascals like boys do.”
“But I’m not a girl,” whispered Jimin. He knew exactly what would happen if his mother heard him say that before the events that happened last time where her mother slapped his face and made him squat for an hour with books lying on top of his forwarded arms.
“Why don’t we have a tea party instead, Jimin? Sound, nice? C’mon.”
It was how Dae would change the mood of Jimin when he felt like wanting to be in the outside world. These are all the times Dae hates Jungkook because she is afraid he would turn Jimin to be a man like him and she hates it. She does not want it to happen. For her, Jimin’s a girl.
Jimin grew up having a lot of fancy dresses, shoes, ribbons, and accessories that a little girl could have while Jungkook have everything a boy should which Jimin should have too but Dae refused to have those in Jimin’s life.
Thankfully, only the three of them know that Jimin is a he as her physical features are especially alluring to anyone who looks at him. He’s too pretty for a boy, not just because his hair was long.
You might be wondering how Jimin knew he wasn’t a real girl, well he always heard his parents argue about it and Jungkook told him that he and he shared the same gender and spent time with him since their parents or more likely, Dae would not allow him to be near Jimin if she’s awake. Of course, like Jimin, Jungkook is not naive. He knows Dae is not his real mother because he has heard Iseul and Dae argue about it before. Of course, he was surprised but kind of not too since of the unfair treatment he got with Dae but wouldn’t speak about it as he loves being part of the rich and prominent family and he is not going to let anyone take it from him especially if you have a beautiful step-brother who happens to be Jimin.
“Kookie Hyung?”
“Hello, dear brother, missed me?” asks Jungkook, grinning from ear to ear while staring at Jimin as they both lay side by side on the bed.
“What are you doing here? I told you not to come here anymore. Eomma might see you and I do—!”
“Sshh…” he placed his pointing finger between Jimin’s lips to stop him from talking nonsense.
“Don’t you wanna see me, dear brother? Didn’t you miss me? I saw you earlier staring at me and don’t you dare deny it.”
Jimin shook his head, “I-I was just staring because I want to play outside like you do.”
“Oh? You do?”
Jimin nodded.
“But you’re a girl. Girls don’t and shouldn’t act rascals like boys do.”
He giggled, “You sound like Eomma.”
“Do I? I thought I sound and act like Appa,” says Jungkook as he deepens his voice while staring straight at Jimin, caressing his cheeks that are now starting to fluster. This made Jungkook smirked in happiness. He thought that only he had the power to make him fluster.
“You’re really pretty, dear brother. So fucking pretty.”
Jimin’s eyes widened in surprise.
“D-Did you just curse?!”
“I did. Is there a problem?”
“Y-Yes! Cursing is bad.”
“Who said?”
“Eomma?”
“What else did she teach you that is bad?”
“B-Be with a boy,” replied Jimin with obviously red cheeks, and Jungkook could not help but tease him.
“Oh, does me as your brother count to what Eomma taught you about?”
Jimin nodded which made Jungkook smile like a maniac. So, Dae dislikes me, huh? Let’s see what will happen if I do something to her precious ‘daughter’? he thought to himself.
He was about to do something naughty when he heard footsteps outside Jimin’s room. He immediately ordered him to pretend to be sleeping as he hid inside his closet.
Chapter 20
Years passed and a teenage Jungkook and Jimin came into the picture.
Jungkook grew up a handsome man just like his Father, Iseul while Jimin grew up to be like Dae. A very pretty face for someone who was born a boy, but of course nobody knows still that he is in fact, a boy as everyone around them sees him as a female, especially with his features and how he acts.
This is also the time Jungkook starts to be really like Iseul as women kept on following and offering themselves willingly to him from left and right like he is some type of God which leads to Iseul somehow envying his son. It’s more like, Iseul’s popularity is now being taken away by his son but who is he to hate him when he can use that to their Family’s advantage? After all, he is his heir.
But even though Jungkook is starting to be like his Iseul, he knows his heart only belongs to Jimin. He yearns for his brother’s attention. He likes the thrill it gives whenever their eyes meet at the dinner table every time they meet at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. How his heart would beat so fast that at any moment it could burst out of his chest. How Jimin’s smile could make him forget what he was doing or thinking at the time before he laid his eyes on him. How his scent drives him crazy. How his soft skin felt when they accidentally bumped into each other in the hallway.
As for Jimin, he thinks his life is miserable. He grew up having to live and act as a female when a reality he isn’t. He tried to escape but he couldn’t until he just finally gave up that one day his mother would finally allow him to be the real him. He thinks having a body and a face similar to him is a curse. He feels like he is just a toy doll in a dollhouse. He has to smile and act pretty in front of everyone and anyone like there’s nothing wrong with him or their family. If anyone looks behind their curtains, he knows they will change the way how they see them.
A deep sigh escaped Jimin’s mouth as soon as he plopped himself on his bed looked at the mirror right in front of her and stared at her reflection. She’s wearing a very pretty blue dress with ruffles and ribbons while his hair is tied in a braid with ribbons. He lay on his side while keeping his gaze to himself in front of the mirror. He looked next to his shoes with one-inch chunk heels paired with long white socks.
If he is going to let the villagers know now and tell them the truth about him being a he instead of a she that they all had believed in for years, they’re surely going to be bewildered.
“Hey,” greeted Jungkook as he entered his room with a sly smile.
“Kookie hyung? What are you doing here?” asks Jimin, whisper-shouting at him while nervously peaking at the door.
He is not supposed to be here! Jimin thought, but a part of him was also happy that he still checked up on him after everything that happened. It is saddening when you are a prisoner in your own house and the reason for it is because of the man in front of you - your older stepbrother.
Remember when Jungkook used to sneak into Jimin’s room when they were young? Well, Dae found out and she was oblivious when she did. She almost hurt Jungkook but not that she cared. The woman was possessive of Jimin so she ended up locking her in a hidden room after the incident so no one would know where Jimin is aside from her. Not that Iseul cares for Jimin. He sees him useless Jungkook who can continue the Family’s fortune.
Jungkook is being announced to the world, the spotlight being just for him while Jimin is being kept hidden and unheard of except when there are gatherings the Family has to attend. That’s the only time Jimin could see what it was being in the outside of his bedroom.
“Visiting my dear Jimin. What else do you think?”
“Mother might see you and.. And…” Jimin shakes his head as he tries not to remember how Dae hurt Jungkook the night he saw him in his room, telling him stories of what it is to be out and about their house and being with Iseul.
“As if a passed-out woman can wake up anytime soon just to beat the next heir of the Family. Trust me, she won’t do what you’re thinking. No one wants to be beheaded by their loved one.” he replied, almost whispering the last line. Thankfully, Jimin didn’t hear it.
“Still!” says Jimin, lips pouted and arms folded on his chest.
Jimin was about to push him out the door when Jungkook sneakily closed it before he even did and walked towards him, surprising Jimin as he stumbled back to the edge of his bed.
“I finally found where Dae locked you up. I’m happy that I can spend the night with you again,” says Jungkook, carefully caressing Jimin’s soft cheeks.
“You can’t. It’s not like before. How did you end up here anyway?”
“I have my ways but it’s mostly Dae’s fault. That woman is in love with her bottle of whiskey thinking she can hold it like Father.”
“Hyung!”
“What? You know what I’m talking about, right? As if you haven’t smelled her reek of it.”
Jungkook lay beside Jimin while the other remained seated, staring at him.
“And you reek of it too?” he whispered, almost doubting what he had smelled just now on Jungkook.
“It’s Cannabis not alcohol, dear Jimin.”
“Cannabis? What’s that?”
“Something I like.”
“Oh, and I don’t.”
“But you haven’t tried it yet how could you easily say you don’t like it?”
“I just don’t like it. That’s it.”
“Say it once you have a taste of it.”
Jimin thought for a second. Well, Jungkook has a point but there’s a part of him telling him it’s a bad idea. Mainly because he thinks how Dae will behave if she finds out if he does.
The next thing he knew, he and Jungkook were now sneaking out of his room leading him to Jungkook’s which he immediately locked. As soon as their eyes met while both of them caught their breaths, they shared a laugh. For Jimin, it was somehow thrilling and fun. For Jungkook, it was everything. Why?
Well, as said before Jungkook yearns for Jimin. Everything about Jimin, he wants it and he’ll do everything and anything to make himself happy and his but of course, Jimin doesn’t know anything about it because he is quite naive.
Jimin watched Jungkook as he made a joint and went to sit back beside him on the floor leaning at the end of the bed.
“So it’s a cigarette?”
“No, it’s not and why do you know what cigarette is and not Cannabis?” asks Jungkook, dumbfounded.
“Because I saw mom once smoking a cigar and she told me, adults do it to relieve stress but warned me not to do what I saw from her.”
“Oh, so she also smokes.”
Jimin nodded.
“Anyway, let’s not make it about her. This is between you and me. You to try this.” says Jungkook, waving the joint between his fingers and lighting it at the end, allowing the fire to slowly burn the said cannabis, creating a white big, smoke that Jimin finds interesting but he just can’t take the smell of it which is why he tried to cover his nose but Jungkook didn’t allow him.
He held both of his hands on his left hand while Jimin was left to look and smell the smoke that Jungkook created with his joint. He felt proud of himself knowing how he can manage his obedient stepbrother and that turns him on big time.
He noticed how Jimin was beginning to relax knowing exactly that the smoke of his joint was now slowly taking effect on him. He smirked as a thought came to his head.
To say the least, Jungkook is already high
so high as it’s his second take of joint that he can’t stop himself from being brave enough to steal a kiss from his brother in front of him that he put the joint off without Jimin noticing.
Jimin dumbfoundedly but with sleepy eyes stared at Jungkook while he could feel his lips being parted by his fingers and the next thing he knew, he was gasping for air.
“B-Broth… What… Mmhh!” he tried to push Jungkook away from him but the other was too strong that instead of him getting away, he was locked under him with his arms above his head.
Jimin tried, he tried to get Jungkook off of him but he was too tired knowing how strong he was that he ended up just getting himself roughly kissed by him which he had been yearning to do for years. He could feel his hands roaming his waist and to his thighs, until his kisses went down to his neck earning Jungkook a moan coming from Jimin which had him smirking in victory.
“Brother… P-Please…” pleaded Jimin with teary eyes as his hands started to hold Jungkook’s broad shoulders.
Jungkook was already way out of control due to his high, thinking everything he was doing right now was just his imagination. Just like every single imagination he bad before when he gets too high on his joint.
When Jimin tried to get away from his hold, this gave Jungkook a different kind of rush and possessiveness. He held Jimin down stripping off his dress and started to lick and kiss Jimin’s soft skin. This scared Jimin. He never had experienced this before especially for Jungkook to do something like this to him and it scared him then he began crying but before he could even yell for help, Jungkook was quick to kiss him while undoing his clothes.
“Remember why Dae taught you being with a boy is bad?” he whispered in Jimin’s ear, making the other’s spine shiver. He shook his head to say no.
“Now you’ll know. Because doing this with a boy is addicting.”
And that’s when Jimin saw how a monster Jungkook is. Dae’s right. Boys are bad and that’s the first time he was thankful he was not a ‘boy’ because he did not want to be bad like them.
PART EIGHT: DOLLHOUSE
When you started talking in your sleep
Saying things you’d do to me
I didn’t care, I wasn’t scared
Now I’m finding knives under the sheets
Crumbled photographs of me
I’m in despair
Should I be scared?
Teddy bear, you were my teddy bear
You were comforting and quiet
How did love become so violent?
Oh, teddy bear, you were my teddy bear
Everything was so sweet until you tried to kill me
Chapter 21
Dae was happy when she noticed how Jimin suddenly backed away when there were boys nearby when they were in a gathering unlike before when she smiled at everyone and anyone they met. She thought it was part of Jimin’s puberty, being more ladylike. Oh if she only knew what made him that way.
Jungkook outgrew Iseul’s popularity and now it is a pain in his head that a lot of females from another rich family will have their Father talk to Iseul to offer marriage. If they only also knew that his heart already belongs to Jimin and that he is obsessed with his stepbrother.
“Where do you think you’re going, dear Jimin?” asks Jungkook with a smirk as he follows him to the empty hallways where the gathering is.
“S-Stop following me!” he hissed.
“Why will I do that?”
“Because I said so!”
“Oh, so now you’re yelling at me? Where’s my dear Jimin modesty at? I thought Dae taught you about it. She’s a bad mother, is she?”
“Don’t you dare speak that way to Mother!” says Jimin, walking towards him. He smirked knowing how naive Jimin was. He dominates him.
“As you ordered but not until I punish you for yelling at me. Don’t you dare forget I’m older than you and the next heir!” says Jungkook before slamming Jimin next to a wall and attacking his neck with aggressive licks and kisses, earning a moan from Jimin while pleading him to stop.
“I said, I’m sorry… Please! Stop!” he cried.
“Show me how sorry you are,” he pulled him inside the empty room before pushing him to kneel. Of course, this is not Jimin’s first time for him not to know what he wants him to do. Ever since Jungkook laid his hands on him he won’t stop doing it with him. He once tried to yell for help while he was on top of him but when he successfully did, no one came. It drove Jimin mad at their parents. Dae’s alcoholic problems made him slumber so badly that he bet if fire and people were screaming to wake her up, she won’t. That’s how bad her alcoholism led her to. And Iseul? He’s not always at home. He’s busy having a good time with a different woman far from their town.
In short, Jungkook has Jimin wrapped around his finger. If only Jimin knew how Jungkook always makes sure Dae’s paid out, it would drive him mad. He has Jimin act like his wife and to say he is happy about it is an understatement.
“Don’t look at me like that, dear. You know how you love sucking me off. It gives you power on how strong your hold on me is, right?” says Jungkook as he held Jimin’s head to choke him with his thing, leading the other to feel helpless and submissive.
“Tell me, you’re jealous, aren’t you? That’s why you walked out of the party after Father announced my engagement with Lee’s daughter, am I right?” he asks, smirking.
“Nonsense! I would never— umpf! “ Jimin’s eyes got teary when Jungkook shoved back his thing inside his mouth and had him bob his head aggressively, making it hard for him to breathe he tried tapping his thighs to let him know that he had to stop what he was doing but the other won’t give attention to it. After he came into Jimin’s mouth, he didn’t hesitate to pull him to the desk and lift his dress, only to shove his thing to his pink unprepped hole, earning a gasp from the younger. Tears spilled from Jimin’s eyes.
“Of course, you’re jealous because you are not her whom I will marry! Because you want to be the one married to me, right?”
Jimin didn’t respond causing Jungkook to be mad about it because, in his head, Jimin is just in denial of his feelings for him. He pulled his hair and roughly shoved deep his thing behind Jimin causing the other to moan quite loudly. This causes extreme fear in Jimin. He does not want anyone to see or hear him like he is enjoying what Jungkook is doing to him. The reason why he left the party is because he wants to celebrate how he will be free of Jungkook once he gets married to somebody who will be away from him for good but he didn’t expect this to happen. He hates himself that he cannot stop himself from moaning so loud when he shouldn’t and Jungkook won’t stop with what he is doing to him even if he pleads. So he did what he thinks will stop him from being too aggressive to his body.
“K-Kookie… I… Please stop! I… I love you! “ he lied between moans while holding the edge of the desk where he was laid by his brother. And just as he thought, Jungkook suddenly stopped thrusting him. He looked at him with surprise and tears in his eyes.
“You what, dear?” he asks, caressing Jimin’s cheeks. He is thankful he did what he did as he is now able to catch his breath but is soon turned by Jungkook so he is now facing him. He gulped in fear. It seems like it’s a bad idea now that he said those three words to him.
“I…”
“I love you too,” Jungkook kissed his swollen lips before he could even finish what he wanted to say, “You don’t know how happy I am you finally admit that you love me. I know you are! That you would! You’re just afraid of Dae and Father, right? Don’t be! Once I get married to that girl and inherit what her and our family has, we will both run away and go somewhere else we can live happily together. You want that?” Before Jimin could respond again, the other kissed him.
“Of course, you love that. You love me. Silly me, to even ask you that.” But then his happy mood suddenly changed into a bad one. He glares at Jimin while holding his neck with eyes piercing at him.
“Right, Jimin? You love me. Because if I find out that you’re lying and try running off with someone who isn’t me, mark my words, I’m going to fuck you in front of that person and I will kill him in front of you, and then you too, alright? No one can have you except me. I own you. Body and soul. You are mine.” And that’s when Jimin knew, Jungkook was more dangerous than their parents.
Chapter 22
The day of the wedding came for Jungkook and his soon-to-be wife Eun. All the people inside the church are happy but not Jungkook. He thinks the ceremony will sadden Jimin when in fact, he isn’t. He is happy he can now be free from Jungkook just as he is thinking the night his father announced his engagement with the woman. He had already forgotten what Jungkook had threatened him.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds were off to their new house which is located in another town.
Jimin was no longer surprised when Dae finally released him to his locked room, where he had been locked for many years. He breathed and smiled because, for the first time in his life, he could stroll around the house without being watched most of the time. He was even more pleased when Dae asked him to go to a tea party with her and her friends.
In his excitement, he picked and dressed beautifully for the tea party only to find out that when they arrived, no one around his age would be there and to this, he was saddened. Dae was quick to notice and allowed him to stroll to the plaza nearby where their tea party was held. Jimin was surprised and felt terrified to walk alone in a place where a lot of strangers could recognize him. Who wouldn’t? He came from a rich family. But he was determined to please Dae that even if it was his first time going alone, he would come back safe and sound as he promised and as she ordered him.
Of course, he is not to speak to strangers.
Jimin didn’t know how he ended up in a toy shop when there were a lot of other shops that he could have gone to. Taken for example, the dress shop or the bakery but no, he didn’t.
“Oh what a lovely day to see you, Milady.” greeted a woman who he thinks is around Dae’s age, smiling at him with a tray of cookies in her hands, “Want some? It just came out of the oven.”
Jimin was about to refuse when he saw a man behind the woman, just around Jungkook’s age busy carving a piece of wood he didn’t know whether he got distracted because of the man or he was just curious about what he was doing with the wood scattered around him.
“Oh, he’s our new boy here in my husband’s shop. He came from another town and said he has no family and needs a job where he can also stay. Do you see the wood toys over there? Some of those are his works and kids love them that they ask their parents to buy it for them.”
Jimin nodded and strolled around the shop with a cookie in his hand that he was munching on every minute or two while he subtly stared at the man who was still busy with his wood carvings or so he thought.
“You are free to say on the second floor if you get tired of looking around. There are books upstairs which you can read.”
To say Jimin was surprised when the man spoke is an understatement. He was oblivious. Is this man stalking him? But he couldn’t get himself to be mad when he was doing the same to him however he noticed how deep and cold his voice is.
They stared at each other for a good minute before a female went inside the toy shop and greeted the man with her sickening sweet voice which made Jimin mentally puke. He is not stupid not to know that the said female likes the man who he just started a stare contest a minute before it was ruined by her.
What Jimin doesn’t know is that it will be the start of their friendship that is soon to blossom.
It has been a month since Jungkook got married and Jimin was enjoying his freedom in and out of the house but good things also come to an end.
Jungkook may not be there but Iseul is. Ever since he sees Jimin regularly he starts to notice how pretty he is and doesn’t even get started with his body. Boy, even thou he looks like he has small breasts from his dresses, no one could deny how small his waist is but his butt is something else.
Iseul couldn’t think of what use Jimin could be in the family. Really. Aside from his pretty face, prettier than Dae, nobody could deny he looked someone good to be in a bed. Panting, moaning, and calling his lover’s name in between.
He tried to stop himself from doing the impossible as he is still a boy , that’s what he kept on reminding himself of but just like what the old saying is, you can’t keep the beast locked for too long and so, one silent twilight after Jimin got back from the toy shop Iseul asks him to go with him in his room and give him a massage.
Of course, a naive Jimin agreed immediately not knowing Iseul’s real intention.
It was just them left in the house as Dae was still outside having a ‘tea party’ with her friends when in fact she was out drinking liquor with her friends who are also problematic like her.
Jimin did what Iseul wanted but when he was about to go, he stopped him and asked him if he could stay a little longer. Jimin thought he just wanted to have a little chat with him because they never had a proper one yet but then, he noticed how he kept on touching him and it somehow reminded him of how Jungkook acts to him whenever he felt like doing something else. He tries not to think too much about it but he is also terrified.
“I should go, Father. Mother will be here any minute now and I must greet her at the front door as she requested,” says Jimin, with trembling hands but Iseul didn’t notice that.
“Jimin, dear. I said sit on my lap!” yells Iseul as he forcefully pulls Jimin to sit on his lap and this triggers a familiar feeling in the younger. He tried to get away from his hold. He started screaming but Iseul was quick to slap his cheek and pushed him onto the bed, hovering on top of a crying Jimin and started licking, kissing, and sucking his neck causing him to feel uncomfortable.
“Get off me! Get off! Mother!”
Iseul was about to get his fun when a quite drunk Dae came and was dumbfounded to see his husband on top of his son with his dress almost showing off his collar. Her eyes widen in horror and walked towards their spot Iseul immediately gets off Jimin as he tries to walk away from Dae thinking that she will slap him but no. Instead, Dae angrily pulls Jimin out of the bed and slaps his cheek real hard causing the younger to be surprised. He tried to defend himself but Dae won’t listen. In her head, she thinks Jimin seduced Iseul. She was so mad that she started hitting Jimin while Iseul was on the side stunned but smirking knowing that he was saved from what he had done to Jimin.
Jimin ran off the house crying with his dress almost torn apart at night where the town was almost dead silent. He couldn’t believe his mother did what he did to her. She didn’t even hear him say that it was Dae who tried to do bad to him. Dae’s blinded and drank, that is what he knows.
“Jimin?” he immediately looked around when a familiar voice called out his name and he gave him an apologetic smile when he saw how he looked.
“I… I tripped.” he lied.
“Well, tripping doesn’t include having a hickey.” he snickered and carefully approached Jimin to lend him his coat.
Jimin didn’t respond because a part of him was ashamed that he had caught him not only in this kind of state but also because he was lying.
“This may sound clichè but being inside the house can keep you safe unlike here on the outside. Wanna come?” asks Yoongi, almost hesitating with the last part but a relieved sigh escaped his lips when the other nodded.
Chapter 23
It just had been a week but Jimin was able to move around Yoongi’s house like he had been living there with him ever since. Contrary to what it may look like, he was able to do chores even when Dae didn’t even teach him how to and this surprised Yoongi that he sometimes supervises Jimin just to be sure if he is the one doing the chores.
Now, don’t get it wrong. Yoongi didn’t ask Jimin to do chores for him just for him to allow him to stay for god knows how long it will be. Jimin was the one who voluntarily offered knowing that Yoongi was tired when he got home from the toy shop. One might wonder how on earth Yoongi had a house when he lived with the toy shop owner well, the pay of the couple was considerably good for him to save enough money for himself to finally get his own home. It was just a few days after he got what he wanted when Jimin showed up looking terrified with tears in his eyes. As much as he wants to know what happened, he tries to keep his nose off as he does not want to seem to intrude on Jimin’s personal space.
He knows how annoying it can be when someone whom you are not comfortable with asks personal questions which you do not want to share but he just can’t help to wonder. Maybe because as much as he does not want to admit it, he cares for the younger. He doesn’t know why but ever since he saw Jimin, and the moment their eyes met, he knew he was in danger but hoped it was in a good way.
Every time he is in the toy shop he will catch himself staring at the younger. He knew something was off with Jimin but again, he is not going to voice it out unless the younger will be the one to tell. He’s not naive like the others not to know that Jimin, like everyone else in town knows that he is a she.
How did he figure? He just knew but it’s not like he cared what made Jimin chose the gender he was playing in the society.
“Hyung! You’re home!” greeted Jimin, with a smile on his lips and a crinkle on his eyes.
“Yes, I am. How are you doing? You didn’t get bored today?” he asks, as he removes his shoes from the doorstep.
“I’m doing great, hyung. I had fun washing the bed sheets and arranging some of the leftover wood for the toy that you’re possibly making. How about you?”
“Tired. There are a lot of kids in the toy shop today asking me to make their personalized toys. Good thing the owner is there to distract some of the kids that kept on bugging me while I work.” Yoongi walked in Jimin’s direction and smiled as soon as he saw him making soup.
Now, if there’s one of the many things that he is thankful he is the one who saw Jimin and took him home is that he is a great cook. All thanks to Dae who taught him how to. No one ever really cooked for Yoongi aside from the owner of the toy shop and his late grandmother who he lived with before she passed away.
“I bought some bread from work.” Jimin nodded and pointed at the table for him to put it. While the other cooks, Yoongi started doing the table. Domestic, isn’t it?Once they were done eating dinner, Yoongi called Jimin into his room and gave him a wrapped brown paper which was not quite heavy but not a hard object inside Jimin suspects.
“I’m not sure if you’ll like it since I don’t have any idea what you like and I don’t think my clothes suit you since you feel uncomfortable.” Jimin blinked a few times before carefully opening the wrapped paper and was dumbfounded to see a powder blue dress in his size with ruffles and ribbons in it. He gulped and his eyes became teary.
“I-I’m sorry. I knew you wouldn’t like it,” says Yoongi, scratching the back of his neck. He was about to get the dress he bought for him when Jimin hugged it like his life depended on it.
“T-Thank you, hyung but you don’t have to. I mean, I’m the one staying here and giving you a hard time being with me but this.. this is…” says Jimin, with happy tears rolling down his eyes, overwhelmed by Yoongi’s kindness.
“Too much? No, Jimin. It’s not too much and again, no. You’re not giving me a hard time living with you. Don’t you ever say that, okay? I bought you that dress because you deserve it.” Jimin, who Yoongi noticed awkward with physical touches had attacked him with a tight hug that he didn’t respond immediately not until he received a look from Jimin that he was okay to hug in return, and that made Yoongi smiled comfortably knowing Jimin was okay with it.
Little did they know, it was just the start of many hugs that would soon turn into many kisses.
Chapter 24
News about Jimin running away from home reached Jungkook and to say that he was mad was an understatement. He was furiously mad at his parents, his wife, his wife’s family, to Jimin but mostly at himself. In his mind, if he didn’t marry Eun, Jimin wouldn’t run away.
He wasn’t able to visit them after the wedding for around two months as there are a lot of things to do with his new family and Eun won’t stop bugging her for them to have a baby already. He did give Eun what she wanted but that is just that. Eun wants to have a baby? Fine. But her request to love her? No. He could only love Jimin and no one else. So even with Eun protesting for him not to leave, he left her. Telling her it will only be quick but they both know it’s a lie. How did Eun know? Well, she always hears Jungkook saying Jimin’s name in his sleep. Of course, she is not naive not to know who Jimin is and she knows, she knows how obsessed of a brother Jungkook is to her. Yes, she knew about Jungkook’s feelings for Jimin but she didn’t know that he wasn’t a she.
“Why didn’t you tell me that he has been missing for a while now? If my butler who I asked to deliver the gifts I had for him didn’t tell me, I wouldn’t have known because you didn’t even send a letter to me letting me know he was! What the hell is wrong with you two?” yelled Jungkook as soon as he entered the house and saw his parents on the couch, with Dae drinking his whiskey on a teacup. Dae looked at Iseul with anger in her eyes but the other ignored her.
“We didn’t know why he ran off. Jimin just did. We didn’t tell you because we know how busy you are now with your new family and we don’t want to bother with you for something that isn’t that important.” Hearing what Iseul said infuriated Jungkok big time.
“Not important? What are you talking about?” he almost choked Iseul’s neck if Dae didn’t interfere.
“Shut it, you two! Jungkook go to your room, Iseul stop those remarks. Your son just got home.” Jungkook sighed and left the room leaving the couple dumbfounded on how he just acted when it came to Jimin and went to his room. He opened his drawer with some of Jimin’s belongings. He carefully picked a pink laced ribbon of his caress like it was Jimin’s hair and smelled it. He smiled like a maniac while tears rolled down his cheeks. He will find Jimin no matter what it takes and get him out of their house just as he promised to the younger.
It had been a month since he went back home to find Jimin but no trace of him could be found of any of his men and this left him to be upset as days passed by. He craves more of Jimin that he almost forgot about Eun and their baby that is on her belly. Even Iseul and Dae noticed how invested Jungkook is in finding the younger that gets on Iseul’s nerves. He does not want Jungkook to find Jimin because he knows he’s dead if he finds out why Jimin ran away in the first place.
“Jungkook, why don’t you go back to Eun now? We’ll just be the ones to continue looking for Jimin for you. Eun had been sending letters to your Mother asking us to send you back home. Your poor wife must be so worried about you since you’d been here for a while now.”
“No. She can wait. Besides, there are a lot of maids in our house. I’m sure she is just being dramatic. I won’t go home until I find Jimin and get him back here.” Iseul sighed.
Jungkook is hard-headed and he wonders where he got it from.
“Jungkook, your brother..”
“I said, no!”
“You’re just wasting your time looking for him! Just go back to Eun already!”
“And why is that? Is there something you know that you’re not telling me?”
“Just go back, son. I’m not here to argue with you. I just want to help Eun.”
“Oh wow? Since when did you end up being concerned with a female that you’re not interested in fucking?” he snickered. Of course, he knew his Father’s doings. He just tries not to let him know that he knows.
“Mind your words, Jungkok!” exclaimed Iseul with anger in his eyes knowing well that what he had said just now was true.
“Or what?” Iseul snickered. He knows he isn’t going to win Jungkook into an argument and tries to think of something that will drive him mad. He isn’t naive too not to notice how Jungkook acts to Jimin when they are both little. He knew Jungkook had his eyes set on him and that is one of the reasons why he had Jungkook marry a female to another town so he could get rid of whatever the two of them had because he was disgusted with it but what he tried to do with his flesh and blood. Ironic, isn’t it?
“Jimin ran away with someone else so you trying to find him is useless. We just don’t want you to know,” says Dae who magically appeared in the room, leaning on the door frame, eyeing Iseul. He nods at her, pleased that even when he did her wrong she still had him in times like this.
“Ji— what?!” asks Jungkook, dumbfounded. He couldn’t believe what he just heard.
“I’m sorry, son but that’s the truth. We can’t just bring ourselves to tell you because we were also shocked about it.”
“N-no! Jimin wouldn’t! You’re all fucked up!” cursed Jungkook, leaving the room not without pushing Iseul and bumping Dae’s shoulders. He stormed to his room and screamed in anger. He couldn’t believe Jimin betrayed him. He said he loved him and ran away with someone else that is not him. He is so mad he starts throwing things he saw, not caring if he broke it or if he is loud.
He just wants his Jimin back.He pulled open his drawer where Jimin’s belongings are and started sniffing it and soon his longing became anger that he started ripping it off, burning it with his lighter and kissing sketches of Jimin he did a few years back and staring at it before laying himself on it and started humming and laughing to himself.Jungkook’s gone mad and there’s no way to save him from his obsession with Jimin. If he can’t have Jimin, he will not have anyone else have him or he’ll him with his lover as he had told him before.
PART NINE: DOLLHOUSE
Tired, blue boy walks my way
Holding a girl’s hand
That basic bitch leaves finally
Now I can take her man
Someone told me stay away from things that aren’t yours
But was he yours, if he wanted me so bad?
Pacify her
She’s getting on my nerves
You don’t love her
Stop lying with those words
Chapter 25
It had been three months since Jimin ran away from home and to say that he was happy that he did was an understatement. Now he truly understands what it feels like to be free and be loved.
Yes, he fell in love with the toy maker named Yoongi. Who wouldn’t? Aside from his looks, he is a genuine person and it’s not hard to fall in love with him when he does things that make his heart ache in happiness. They had already talked about a lot of things and to be honest, he was happy that Yoongi didn’t judge him or his family.
Yoongi was happy that Jimin was comfortable telling him those things that are hard to tell to other people which is why he can’t help but care hard enough for Jimin as much as he would for others which made him realize he is already also falling for the younger.
“Yoongi?”
“Hmm?” hums Yoongi as he caresses the younger’s hair and kisses his forehead.
“It’s so pretty. How did you manage to buy something like this? It’s not like you can’t but I wonder how tired you are at work just for you have enough money to buy a ring like this.” says Jimin staring at the ring Yoongi bought for him as they both lay on the bed after their lovemaking. It wasn’t like what Jungkook and him did or what Iseul wanted them to do. It was pure love and adoration.
“It doesn’t matter how tired I got at least I get to see your pretty smile. I wouldn’t get tired of it. You deserve to be happy, Jimin.”
“But hyung, even without this, I’m happy just to be with you. I didn’t know that it’d be possible for me to find love after everything that happened.”
“Even me. I can’t believe you’ll fall in love with someone like me. I’m not rich like the other man who tried to court you. I don’t have a family. I’m an orphan trying to make ends meet but here you are, loving me with what I am and what I can offer.”
“Because I don’t need material things, hyung. I need someone who would love me as I am and same to you. I’m glad I met you.”
“I can’t wait ’til we tomorrow and start a new life with you somewhere we can be like the normal married couples. I love you, Jimin.”
“I love you too, Yoongi hyung.” But just like before, Jimin’s happiness won’t last long. The next day when Yoongi is at work and he is busy packing the stuff that they will bring with them when they leave the town later that night, a knock is heard from the door.
Jimin thought it was Yoongi because none of the neighbors knew he existed there he tried to conceal himself from anyone other than Yoongi so that no one could find him in case his parents tried looking for him. He happily walked his way to the door while holding a bag with his dollhouse that Yoongi made just for him to play when he gets bored being alone in the house. Ironically, it has a family of four bunnies that kind of represents him and his family but Yoongi explained that it will be them soon. He stood in horror when he saw Jungkook standing in front of him with an unexplainable emotion written in his eyes and two men behind his back.
He tried closing the door but Jungkook was quick enough to stop the younger.
“No! Put me down! No!” yelled Jimin as he tried to get off Jungkook who was holding him like a bag of rice on his shoulders. Jungkook heard nothing and brought him with him. Leaving the house empty.
Chapter 26
“You don’t love him! He doesn’t love you! He’s lying and I’m not!” yelled Jungkook when Jimin tried again to escape from his hold.
After he got Jimin back from Yoongi’s, he had him locked up in the same room Dae used to lock him in. The room with no windows only a hidden door on one of the walls of the oh-so-many rooms their house has.
“No! You’re the only one who is lying!” yelled Jimin back with tears rolling down his eyes.
It’s been a week since he was found and locked by Jungkook in his old room and to be honest, he just wants to go back in time and decided that he shouldn’t open that door. He missed Yoongi so badly. He knows the older might have been badly worried about him. They were supposed to run away and be together forever but no. Jungkook came and ruined everything.
“Then why isn’t he here if he loves you?” asks Jungkook. This somehow made Jimin think. He had told Yoongi about their family and he told him that he would always be there for him so why isn’t he here yet? he thought.
“See? He doesn’t. I’m the only one who loved you and you know that. He just let you think that he loves you but he doesn’t.” he continued as he walked towards Jimin to caress his cheeks but the younger knows better.
“If you love me, then why don’t you ask yourself why I ran in the first place?”
This question of Jimin to him made him think for a good while.
“What do you mean?”
“Why don’t you ask Iseul .”
Jungkook was dumbfounded to hear Jimin address their Father by his name like how he did with Dae but that’s a different story.
“What did he do?”
“Ask him. Like father like son, “ says Jimin with a meaning behind it and Jungkook was quick to hear it even thou the last part was almost a whisper.
His eyebrows knit when he heard what he had said. Like father like son? he thought, and then it hit him.
“He touched you?” asks Jungkook in a way that both of them understand what it meant and when Jimin nodded that’s when he snapped and rushed out of the room. He walked passed Dae and when she asked him where he was going he didn’t answer, she knew Jungkook already knew the truth. She tried stopping him but he only yelled at her pushed her to the side and continued on his way to Iseul’s room.
“You! How fucking dare you lay a hand on Jimin!” yelled Jungkook as he entered his room and held Iseul’s collar, surprising the other by his sudden presence.
“What are you? .?”
Before Iseul could even make a sentence, Jungkook let go of him and punched him in the face.
“Fucking disgusting!”
Iseul snicked, “Says the man who had his eyes on his stepbrother.”
“He loves me but not you! There’s a difference!”
“Look who’s delusional.”
This statement of Iseul angered Jungkook and that started the brawl between the Father and Son.
“You think he loves you, huh? Fuck, he’s about to run away with Yoongi who you had ordered to torture by your men because he’s the one Jimin loved,” he added.
“No! Jimin doesn’t love him! He doesn’t love Jimin! There’s no man Jimin loves other than me! Get that in your fucking head, you sickening of a Father!”
When Dae arrived, she almost fainted where she stood upon seeing the faces of Jungkool and Iseul, all bruised and blood already flowing through the said bruised parts. Anger ate her and thinks this is all Jimin’s fault that Iseul is being hurt.
She was about to go to where Jimin was when she heard a gunshot. The moment she looked where Jungkook and Iseul were, she screamed. She saw Iseul falling with a loud thump on the floor. Jungkook shot Iseul with a pistol in hand. The said man doesn’t even look guilty of what he did. He was smiling.
“What have you done?!” asks Dae in fear while tears rolling down her cheeks. He cannot believe the bastard son will have the guts to kill his own Father.
“What do you think? He touched my Jimin. How ironic you are more concerned about the man who never loved you from the very beginning and who almost raped your son who had been with you all those times Iseul can’t.” he snickered.
Dae could only grip the hem of Iseul’s coat as blood escaped from the hole in his body where the bullet went. She cried until she could no longer feel Iseul’s heartbeat.
She wanted to avenge Iseul but she didn’t know how to— at least, for now .
Jungkook left the mansion like nothing happened and went to the place where he had Yoongi tortured by his men. He is so gonna kill him like he did with Iseul. He is not letting any man be with Jimin other than him.
When he arrived at the place, he quickly noticed Yoongi kneeling on the floor with blood almost dried up and littered on his skin with lots of bruises. He couldn’t even recognize this man in front of him if he didn’t know who he was before this mess happened.
“Just went here to let you know what Jimin told me before I send you to hell.”
Yoongi managed to open his eyes even when he couldn’t and raised his head to see Jungkook. Of course, he knew who this man in front of him was and he was not going to believe what he would say because, for him, Jungkook doesn’t really love his Jimin but is only obsessed.
He knew at some point loving someone like Jimin was like having his one foot buried six feet under but he didn’t care at all because he loved him truly he knew he would not be able to love him long enough in this lifetime all because of Jungkook. The man is obsessed and not in love with Jimin and he hates it that he can’t do anything to save his lover. He hoped in the next lifetime, he and Jimin could be together.
“I’ll only believe it if he says it himself but you? Tsk, you don’t truly love him for who he is. Don’t make me laugh. Jimin is disgusted to have you as a brother and might as well be his lover.”
“To hell with you!” yelled Jungkook, pointing his pistol at Yoongi’s forehead.
“And also with you,” he smirked.
And with that, Jungkook with no hesitations in mind pulled the trigger, killing Yoongi but not without uttering the words, “In another lifetime, my love.” while thinking about Jimin his husband.
Chapter 27
It had been three days since Iseul and Yoongi died and everything had been out of hand since then.
Dae wants to avenge Iseul’s death but she does not know how. She tried asking Eun’s help but the other doesn’t want to because she is scared of what he might do if she does. Eun just wants a peaceful life for her and their soon-to-be-born child Jungkook. If he has already gone mad then it’s time for her to forget about him. She’s not going to risk anyone’s life just because he wants Jungkook’s attention. She does not want to end up like Dae.
Because of this, Dae was so infuriated that she took the blame all to Jimin. If she hadn’t made Jimin the way he is now, Iseul may not have been attracted to him and be the cause of him and Jungkook’s fight, leading him to his death. Of course, she wouldn’t blame herself. She’s too prideful. And as much as she wants to kill Jungkook, she can’t. The man is already the new heir of the family. He’s too strong using physical, power, and money and she is just nothing in front of him but a widow.
However, as much as she wants to remind herself how mad she is at Jungkook and Jimin, she can’t seem to worry about her son. Every time she hears Jimin’s scream and pleas when Jungkook is trying to force himself on him, she wants to help him. Jimin’s screams give her shivers and it drives her insane that she can’t do anything. Jimin’s helpless. She is helpless. Jungkook, the bastard’s son is a demon. If she only knew this was going to happen one day, she should have killed him before and none of these things would happen but of course, she knew she couldn’t turn back time as much as she wanted to.
It’s already too late.
The day she heard Jungkook tell him that he was going to marry Jimin almost made her faint. Where did the picture-perfect family go to?
“You’re insane! I’m not letting you marry my son! Stop with your nonsense! You’re already married to Eun! You’re a shame like your mother!” yelled Dae.
A hard slap coming from Jungkook stung Dae’s cheek, making her stare at him in horror.
“I’m not asking for your permission. I’m going to marry Jimin whether you like it or not and that’s final too.”
Three days before Jimin and Jungkook’s wedding, Dae had no other choice but to pray day and night in her room to whoever could help her fix their family’s problem, to protect the family’s name too, she called every angel and demon, gods of whichever to help her out and only one came - Taehyung, the demon, offering her a contract.
And the day before the big day comes for Jungkook to marry Jimin, he lets her be with Jimin in his caged room. She was still mad but relieved to see him though she did what he had to do when she saw him and that was to slap him hard on his cheek. She thought she would see some reaction from him but she didn’t.
Jimin already lost it. His eyes once had happiness to it was now filled with nothing. After all, who wouldn’t? When you were heartbroken knowing that the person you thought loved you and you gave your heart to didn’t really love you and ran away when was given a huge amount of money as what Jungkook had told him the night he killed Yoongi that Jimin believed after no Yoongi showed up to save him from Jungkook.
Dae tried yelling and saying hurtful words at him that she wanted to tell to get the heavy feeling off her chest which it somehow did but it only made it worse for her when she saw no reaction from her son and that is when she knew how big of a mistake she did for not being brave for herself or for her son. Seeing your child suffer from heartbreak kills you more inside than seeing your husband die in your arms.
She cried when she saw how Jimin regressed and played with the dollhouse she didn’t know she had and wondered where it came from. He just played with the family of four bunnies while humming and then suddenly uttering the name Yoongi. The next thing Dae knew was that Jimin’s shaking uncontrollably while crying.
“Sshh, stop crying, dear. Mother is here. I’ll make sure you will not have to marry that monster. I promise.” she whispered as she caressed his hair.
As soon as Dae left Jimin’s room, she went into the mausoleum the family had in their backyard. Yes, that’s how rich their family is.
She called the demon who came to her aid when she called for help and stated her curse with a wish that Taehyung offered her.
“My life in exchange for my son’s death.” she states her wish, “In return, the house will remain still until the day Jimin’s lover comes back to fulfill his vow to my son.”
And Taehyung did what was told. After killing Dae, he killed Jimin next right before the wedding ceremony started forgetting what was wished by Dae however a contract will remain a contract. He just didn’t know that what Dae uttered as a curse would happen a couple of decades later.
The day Jungkook found Jimin dead in his room, was the day he died too. How it happened? Just like how Taehyung offered a contract to Dae, he did with the other. He offered him a contract that would temporarily make him immortal but soon be mortal a.k.a human again once he collected one hundred souls however what he didn’t tell Jungkook is that once he did, he would be dragged to hell with him which is his punishment for collecting souls of innocent people when he is already dead and should have been dead long ago. But does Taehyung care?
No. After all, he’s a demon.
PART TEN: DOLLHOUSE
Time you know just how I feel
Since you told me you’ll wait forever
Time you start growing up
Age is nothing if you’re not evolved
Yeah, I didn’t have time for this but I still gave you my all
I sacrificed blood for you
I sacrificed blood
Write this shit in your notebook, baby
Since you never wrote love letters to me, to me
Don’t forget all the things I’ve taught you
You’ll need it for someone who isn’t me, ain’t me
Chapter 28
Back to the present, Hoseok had just finished reading Jimin’s diary and he was mad at the old and present Yoongi for hurting the before and now Jimin.
He was too emotional when he read how broke Jimin was when he learned Yoongi left him and ran away with the money Jungkook gave him. Now he is on Jungkook’s side but he will not allow that ghost to get their Jimin. The old one that he knew had already died and the Jimin now couldn’t and will never be the old Jimin from before that Jungkook thinks he is.
On the other hand, Jin and Namjoon had just returned from the past after the ghost of Jimin showed them what had happened decades ago by the use of the paintings that had been the witnesses of the events prior. They were thankful nothing happened to them while the ghosts had them have a look at the past.
“We have to get Jimin out of here! That Jungkook is obsessed and not in love with the old Jimin!” says Jin.
“But first, we have to find either Hoseok or Yoongi. It can’t be just us two. That Jungkook is way too dangerous if he was able to kill his own Father and the old Yoongi on the same night.” replied Namjoon.
Jin and Namjoon agreed to look for Hoseok while Yoongi ended up at the Park’s Mausoleum. Yes, that’s how rich the family was before everything went downhill. Needless to say, it still looks grand but spooky since it has been abandoned for so many years and Yoongi will not be surprised if a ghost stands in front of him but who is he joking? He is in a weird, abandoned dollhouse-like mansion with ghosts, and on top of it, the ghost wants his husband who just wants to bring him back home.
“Ah, Jimin! Where are you?” sighs Yoongi to himself as he can’t help but sit on top of one of the many tombs and stare at the night sky. It didn’t take that long before he felt tears rolling down his cheeks. He missed Jimin - so bad that if Jimin showed up in front of him, he’d tell him that they would be no longer divorcing. He will prove himself to be a worthy husband just as Jimin wants him to be and how the other has always been to him.
“It’s surprising yet refreshing at the same time to see you cry, Hyung.” says a familiar voice to which he immediately raises his head to see who it came from.
“Hoseok,” says Yoongi as he wipes his tears and composes himself in front of himself.
“Do you understand now what Jimin feels when you’re away? When he wants to see you and you’re not there? When he wants to spend time with you but you’re out there having with someone else? It hurts, doesn’t it?”
“Yeah. I shouldn’t have been an asshole to him. It’s just that, I don’t think he likes me. I’d been eyeing Jimin even before our marriage and I’d notice how he is more comfortable to you than to me.”
To say Hoseok was surprised by what he had heard was an understatement. He was flabbergasted!
“Hyung, are you serious? You’re not drunk, are you? Because to me, it sounds like you’re jealous of me and Jimin. Like, really? To all the guys who had asked Jimin out on a date, me? Why me?”
“Because Jimin seems more comfortable with you than when he’s with me.”
“Of course! I’m like how me is to you. I’m his close friend in and outside work. Plus, one of the reasons he is comfortable with me is because he sees me like your brother that he could always ask about you and not to mention that he’s always shy whenever he’s around you because he has a crush on you way before you guys get married and that because he’s also afraid that he might upset you which is the last thing he wants to happen.”
Yoongi smiled upon realizing what his best friend had said.
“So, any idea how we’re going to save your sleeping beauty, Hyung?”
“Yeah. First, we have to take Taehyung down. He is Jungkook’s sort of bodyguard. I believe he’s a devil. He’s offering contracts. Dangerous ones if I may say. More like it’ll benefit him more than you think you would.”
“Uhm, I don’t think it’s a good idea to start with the bodyguard. I suggest we do defeat both at the same time,” says Hoseok full of determination like he didn’t come here scared to death.
And that’s when Yoongi remembered what Taehyung had told him. Hoseok’s right. They have to defeat Taehyung and Jungkook at the same time. They don’t have much time left. If Jimin wakes up before they even defeat one of the two, he might not like it because he knows, Jimin is going to lose all of his memories of them making it hard for him to get him back but no matter how hard it will be, he will find a way to make Jimin remember. He will not lose to a ghost.
Both of them stood to start looking for Jin and Namjoon when suddenly, Yoongi felt like he had stepped on something that wasn’t a rock so he stooped down and reached for that something which happened to be a ring. Ring?
Yoongi inspected the ring and looked at Hoseok. Curiosity is also written on his face.
“So, who do you think owns it?”
Yoongi shrugged, “I don’t know but should we just leave it here?”
“I don’t think so. Since we’re almost in a horror type of reality, why don’t we just keep whatever we think could be a key to win over the bad guys?”
“Sounds a plan to me,” says Yoongi, and they both give each other high fives.
Chapter 29
“Where in the world?” whispers to Jin himself but enough for Namjoon to hear. Upon following the ghost of Jimin as Jin’s plan they got themselves in a room filled with nothing but eight holes that aren’t big enough but enough for lights to pass through. It was so dark inside the room they got in and the ghost was nowhere to be found and now they’re both stuck in this room which they don’t know they will escape if chances are high.
While Jin is mad and busy blabbing about how they shouldn’t have followed that ghost, Namjoon tries peeking in one of those holes and is surprised to see the person that they are trying to find, save, and get out of this mansion - it is no other than the present Jimin. Beside him was Jungkook who just sat and stared at the younger.
So the past Jimin didn’t just lead them out of nowhere? He’s helping them to find the present and younger Jimin? he thought.
“Namjoon, are you even listening?!” asks Jin.
He turned to his husband and signalled him to be quiet and this led to Jin wondering why so he made his way to Namjoon. His husband instructed him to peek at one of the holes which he did and like Namjoon minutes ago, he was also surprised to see his brother sleeping soundly like Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty while Jungkook is now beginning to stroke his fingers to his hair. He looked at Namjoon and the other just nodded, letting him know how they should continue observing what would happen next, which they did.
Taehyung suddenly came into the picture.
“Where have you been?” asks Jungkook, not sparing a glance at the demon.
“Out,” answered Taehyung, spitting hate at the man who looked sickeningly similar to Jungkook’s lover he had killed with his own hands decades ago.
“Out? You’d never go out and never had been. What changed your mind?”
“I found something useful.”
This time, Jungkook turned his back to Taehyung and eyed him from head to toe.
“What did you do?” he asks, curiosity lacing in his tone.
“Something that I can use later on but don’t you worry about it. Spend as much time as you can with. .”
“Jimin.” continues Jungkook, and yet again gave his attention back to the younger.
Taehyung took a deep breath and gritted his teeth as he clenched his fists in anger but never forgot to look at the painting that was on the wall. He smirked as he stared into the eyes of the painting.
“He’s staring at us!” whisper-yells Jin.
“Maybe he knows .”
“Knows what?”
“The hidden places of this house than Jungkook does. He’s not like that man who’s obsessed with Jimin and that is something I am sure of,” says Namjoon.
“So what do we do?”
“Get a way to distract that obsessed man to Jimin and don’t wake Jimin up. Well, not until we get out of this place.”
“And our plan is?”
“One of us needs to be the bait and that bait will be me.”
“Namjoon!”
“Decision’s final just this time, darling. Sorry that I have to decide on my own.”
A distressed sigh escaped Jin’s lips but regardless, he hugged Namjoon and let their foreheads touch.
“I swear if that motherfucker hurt you, I’m gonna burn this house down and make sure that he will feel how hot it is to be burned by me,” whispers Jin, annoyance obvious in his tone but the latter just laughed and kissed his lips.
“The last thing I want to happen to me is to be killed by you in bed, not by anyone who isn’t sexy,” he smirked.
Chapter 30
Namjoon is scared but it was his idea to be the bait so that Jin will have enough time to get Jimin out of the obsessed man’s bedroom or the mansion which will be more convenient for all of them.
Speaking of them, where are those two ? Namjoon thought as he walked across the lonely, empty hallway and that is when he executed his plan.
“YOONGI! YOONGI?” he yells, loud enough for anyone who is in the house to hear his voice and for Yoongi to know that he is looking for him but he wishes his younger brother would not go to where he is or it will ruin the plan. Matter of fact, he thinks it will be worse since none of them can surpass either Jungkook or Taehyung.
What Jin and Namjoon only knew is that in the past Jimin and Yoongi were lovers and Jungkook was against it but little did they know, that Jungkook hates Yoongi with all his dear life and soul that he would kill anyone associated with Yoongi and would try to take his Jimin away from him.
When Namjoon heard one of the doors open, he immediately ran for his life to hide but his legs weren’t built for running so Jungkook was able to catch up to him and stood in front of him with angry eyes.
“And how did a rat like you enter my house?! Speak!” asks Jungkook, almost choking Namjoon by his neck. The other was surprised at how strong he was.
“I..” he was struggling to get out of his grip but when he saw his husband sneaking inside the room, he somehow had the strength to endure Jungkook’s hold of him, “I don’t know! I was just looking for my friend!”
“Oh? Friend?” asks Jungkook as he let go of Namjoon by tossing him a little away from where he stood and this caused the other to hissed in pain.
“Yes! Friend! What the hell is wrong with you? Do you always choke people when you first meet them?” asks Namjoon, playing offended by what Jungkook did but in reality, he was mad that he was tossed like a paper on the ground.
“So, Yoongi huh? What does this friend of yours look like?” he asks, raising one brow while examining Namjoon.
“He’s someone who can steal your lover away, well that is if you have any,” he smirked and Jungkook’s eyes widened.
There is only one Yoongi that he can think of and that is no other than the man whom he had killed decades ago and lied to Jimin that he fled elsewhere after offering him a huge amount of money. This can’t be! he thought.
He immediately left Namjoon when he could have just eaten his soul right then and there but he didn’t. Jimin is much more important than the other.
However, by the time he goes back to the room where Jimin is, he is not there anymore and this makes Jungkook scream in pure madness that it causes havoc in the mansion.
Chapter 31
“Oh fuck! Shit! Shit!” says Jin, panting while carrying a sleeping Jimin on his back. He’s scared and praying in hopes that the obsessed man will not find them where they are and that his husband is safe. He has to! He promised!
He stumbled back to the room where he and Namjoon were earlier before the ghost of the previous Jimin showed up coming from the dollhouse toy. He laid Jimin on the couch while he tried to catch his breath and stared at his brother.
“Don’t worry, Jimin. Hyung and the rest will make sure to get you out of here safe and sound.” whispers Jin as he caresses his cheeks, “I’m sure Yoongi won’t allow it too for you to be stuck with that Jungkook. After all, he is your husband. He loves you as much as he wants to deny that fact.”
Jin was petrified when he felt one of Jimin’s fingers move upon hearing the name of Yoongi. Of course, he would. Jin knows that the previous Jimin and Yoongi loved each other the same as the present, the only difference now is they’re both afraid to admit and show it to one another without looking needy of attention.
“I wonder where your husband is. Yoongi was with us when we first came here but Taehyung took him away and brought him god knows where, and Hoseok? I don’t know about that scaredy cat. He must have hidden somewhere. You know him, right?” Jin continued to talk as he stared at the moon outside the mansion. He sighed. Being inside feels long.
He was taken aback when he noticed the sound of the grandfather clock across the room getting a little louder from the usual he could remember it should be, and when the clock struck 12, it created a loud, piercing, and knowing noise that Jin had to cover both of his ears and shut his eyes close like it will magically take the piercing feeling away but it didn’t.
When the noise stopped, much to Jin’s liking, he fell flat on the floor in shock when he looked back at Jimin and saw his eyes widen open staring back at him.
“J-Jimin!” says Jin, gleefully and welcomes the other with a bone-crushing hug but the latter is confused.
When the older didn’t get any reaction from the younger, he released him from his hug and carefully inspected him.
“Jimin?”
“…”
“Jimin? Jimin!” he slightly shrugged his shoulders to wake him up, just in case his brother was still in sleepland.
“Jimin?”
Jin’s mouth hung open when he heard how the other responded. It was like he was asking him who Jimin was when in fact, it was him.
“Yes! Jimin! Wait, are you pranking me?”
“Prank? What prank? And who are you? Where am I? Who am I? “ asks Jimin, but the last part is more to himself.
Boy, he was so confused. He just woke up in an unfamiliar place with a stranger whom he didn’t know and who kept on saying the name Jimin to him. Wait, is he Jimin whom the other is referring to? But why he can’t remember anything? His memories at the moment are like a blank canvas that is just about to receive information on anything and everything the world has to offer today.
Jin was speechless. He wasn’t prepared for any of this. How come something like this happened to his younger brother?
He was about to call him by his name again when the door flung open, revealing a mad Jungkook who immediately calmed down and smiled like a maniac upon seeing Jimin.
“My love!” says Jungkook, ignoring Jin and kneeling in front of Jimin as he carefully lifts his hand and rubs his cheek against it.
“Who?” asks Jimin, getting more confused around everyone.
“Get your hands off of my brother!” growled Jin, swatting away Jungkook’s hands and shielding Jimin behind him.
Jungkook looked at Jin with a poker expression and sighed.
“You must be with that man I saw earlier.” says Jungkook, sparing Jimin a glance before continuing, “As much as I want to eat your souls right now, it can wait. Jimin and I need to prepare for our wedding which will happen in an hour or two. Depending on how excited you guys are you will be our guests!”
“Wedding? Guests? Just how screwed are you? My brother is not going to participate in any of this fuckery of yours! He is already married!” says Jin whose lips magically got sealed.
“W-What did you..?”
“Sshh, my love,” says Jungkook and without a doubt, kissed Jimin’s lips.
Jin is petrified of the action but as much as he wants to stop what Jungkook is doing, he can’t. Apart from his lips being sealed, a mysterious, invincible, rope-like force is stopping him from moving any of his desired body parts that he wants.
As the kiss gets more intense, Jin notices how Jimin’s movements turn to a clingy one too, and lo, when their lips parted, he knew the way Jimin is now has something to do with the kiss Jungkook had initiated.
“Shall we?” asks Jungkook to Jimin who lovingly stares at him with eyes filled with intoxicated desire.
“Yes, darling.”
Jungkook smiled as he held Jimin’s hand in his and in a snap, Jin found himself beside Namjoon who was in front of a disappointed and mad Taehyung.
PART ELEVEN: DOLLHOUSE
If you can’t handle a heart like mine
Don’t waste your time with me
If you’re not down to bleed, no, oh
If you can’t handle the choking, the biting
The loving, the smothering
’Til you can’t handle it no more, no more
Go home
Can we just be honest?
These are the requirements
If you think you can be my one and only true love
You must promise to love me
Chapter 32
“What the fuck?” exclaimed Hoseok as the mansion magically decorated like there’s a big event that is about to happen any minute from now.
For whatever reason, it took them a while to get themselves back inside and to find where Namjoon and Jin were. Taehyung was no longer there and as much as he wanted to kill them especially Jin since he was the cause for Jimin to wake up and is now in Jungkook’s arms being lovey-dovey, he can’t. Not yet.
“Where the hell you guys have been? We almost died and none of you will know!” says Jin, angrily eyeing them.
“You what?!” exclaimed Hoseok
“Then how come you’re all dressed up?” added
Jin and Namjoon looked at each other and sighed.
“Because we were forced to.”
“By who? That obsessed guy named Jungkook?” asks Hoseok and they nod in agreement which shocked Yoongi and Hoseok at the same time.
“How’d you know his name?” asks Jin.
“Accidentally read someone’s diary.”
“ Jimin’s diary?“
Hoseok nodded.
“How and where did you find it?”
“Glad you asked! Well, got me in a secret room at the room where we all three were earlier, and somehow luckily got myself out, and kaboom! Found Yoongi after.”
“Oh, that’s why! We thought you just went out and wandered,” says Namjoon.
“But going back to why you’re wearing a suit, why? Why would he do that? It’s not like he wants his victims to dress up well before he eats their souls, right?”
“It’s not like that, Hoseok. Don’t you find it weird that we’re wearing a suit? Shouldn’t it be that clothes like this be worn only at work or special occasions?”
Hoseok snapped his fingers in realization whereas Yoongi was taking deep breaths. His anxiety is slowly increasing and he doesn’t even know the reason why.
“So are we celebrating something? ’Coz I bet that suit you guys both wearing are only for either a wedding, funeral or…”
“You got it,” replied Jin as he carefully eyed Yoongi from where he stood.
“Funeral? What? Who died?” asks Hoseok again, frantic that his friend Jimin died and he wasn’t there to help him but then his thought was cut off when Yoongi spoke.
“A wedding,” says Yoongi as his eyes darken and his breath hitches.
“Yes.” agrees Jin, “I didn’t mean to wake him up after me and Namjoon decided to lure Jungkook to get Jimin out of this place but then, he woke. Jungkook found us and I swear, when he woke from his slumber, Jimin, our Jimin was kind of having an amnesia but then when Jungkook kissed him, he became an entirely different person. Like, that Jimin that I saw earlier was completely not what my brother is, and I know the old Jimin could and wouldn’t be able to exchange souls with our Jimin because he hates Jungkook to the core.”
“How could you be sure of that? I’d read his diary! He hates Yoongi!” exclaimed Hoseok, simply eyeing the Yoongi beside him who just pursed his lips, “Yoongi left him after Jungkook gave him a big amount of money! He left him all alone when he knows how fucked up his life is going to be with his own family!”
“That’s a lie!” yelled Jin, taking in deep breaths, “Jungkook lied to Jimin! Yoongi didn’t flee! He didn’t give him any money! He killed him! He gets rid of him so he can have Jimin all to himself!”
Hoseok’s mouth hangs open. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“Jungkook is trying to fulfill his postponed wedding from the Jimin before and I don’t know what will happen if he does with the present Jimin, and I don’t want to know. We have to figure out how we can get out of this place. We have to know how the last Jimin died! All of them! Maybe that’s the key to how we will be able to get ourselves alive especially since our time is running out.” says Jin.
Yoongi’s mind is in a haze. He was hurt. Too hurt to think and see how his husband will be taken away by a ghost. All of this couldn’t have happened if he wasn’t stupid. Now he regrets everything he had done to Jimin.
But of course, Yoongi isn’t going to let that happen. If Jungkook is eager to fulfill to be with the past Jimin, so does he. The Yoongi loved that Jimin before that he didn’t mind being himself killed for his lover and that is what he’s going to do. If he had to die just to win his Jimin back, he would. The Yoongi now will make sure that he will win against Jungkook. Jimin has been his from before and until now, he is not going to let that ghost get in between.
“I have a plan,” says Yoongi as he holds the ring inside his pocket. The ring that he magically found out of nowhere.
He’s sure that he will be able to make his husband feel anything if he’s going to propose to him because the old and present Jimin wasn’t able to experience it and he knows, it was their dream to experience it with the man that they love. He had been Jimin’s lover so it should work, right? thought Yoongi.
Chapter 33
It was time for Jimin and Jungkook’s wedding at the big hall inside the mansion and Jin, Taehyung, and Yoongi were there to witness but it is not that Jungkook is aware of it. Namjoon was supposed to play the piano located on the second floor of the hall where the wedding will be held but Yoongi replaced him as part of their plan. It’s not like Namjoon can’t but Yoongi is better at it. Everyone knows it.
He asked Namjoon to find the dollhouse toy that they found earlier and destroy it. Maybe it will somehow break whatever the curse mansion has. After everything Hoseok and Jin told him, he figured the Park family had a dollhouse, a picture-perfect family set-up, he is sure that it could somehow do any damage if that toy were destroyed. He saw how it affected his husband before everything went downhill. But he’s also aware of how precious that toy is to the past Jimin. It was made by his lover, the past Yoongi. It was made of pure love and it’s hurting him to know that the present Yoongi will destroy it but he hopes he will be able to save Jimin - he has to, and will do everything to have him back. He loves him and will always do.
The moment that his fingers started playing the piano, the big door on the first level creaked open, an indication that the wedding was starting. A classic Bridal Chorus was being played in the background. The tune was lovely and soothing and Yoongi couldn’t help but peek from his place to see Jimin’s ethereal beauty. He saw Jimin’s smile and it made his breath hitched when he realized who he was smiling at. It makes his heart ache.
Yoongi being mad at Jungkook and possessive over his husband, not like he wants the other to know yet, starts to change the tune midway of Jimin walking the aisle. He believes that there is still a way of winning him back. There has to be and that is when he remembered, why he is glad to be married to him because Jimin appreciates his music the way he does he discovered Jimin daydreamingly wrote a song for god knows whose that song was for but is wishing it was for him. He remembered how flushed he was when he accidentally read it and how he took a photo of it on his phone just for him to be able to add a tune to it and how happy he was when he was able to make Jimin hum at it as he sneakily saw him holding the familiar paper in his hands, probably trying to sing the song in his head.
Could you hold me through the night?
Put your lips all over my mine
Jimin, yes, him. The one that is walking the aisle is in no way the past Jimin but is the present Jimin deep inside but not the one who controls being the lovey-dovey clingy one to Jungkook who thinks he is the past Jimin. Jungkook could control how he wanted him to be. That’s how far Jungkook went for his dark love to him.
Present Jimin is about to give up and just let Jungkook be in control but the moment he heard the familiar tune, he felt his heart ache. His breath hitched and with every step he took, it felt like his legs hurt, like he was walking on a floor made of thorns.
Who plays this tune that makes his heart so heavy that he wants to bawl his eyes to cry and run to the person to comfort him? But at the same time, he feels longing and happy to hear the familiar tune. Like the song was made for someone - a song made of pure bliss of love. he thought.
“Jimin?” says Jungkook from his place when he stops on his track.
Jin saw how Jimin’s hands held tight to his bouquet as his breath started to be uncomfortable and Taehyung was quick to glance at the second level of the hall and noticed the familiar figure who plays the piano. The tune was also making him feel things and he took a small glance at Jungkook, he took a deep breath before he decided to help Yoongi get his Jimin back even if it took hurting the human he came to love. He is willing to be hated by Jungkook than to see him with the person he thinks loves him when in reality, the past and present Jimin share the same feelings for the past and old Yoongi. Clichè, isn’t? But it’s love. It’s unexplainable. Hard to understand until you fall.
He sneakily motioned his hand on the side and the tune started to become a little louder making it hard for Jimin not to wake from whatever Jungkook tried to put him in.
“Yoongi,” he breathed out when he finally remembered Yoongi. He immediately looked around at the second level and he was met with Yoongi’s eyes that wanted to tell a thousand things to him that made him drop the bouquet and run towards his husband but of course, Jungkook isn’t going to let that happen. He was furious when he saw Yoongi, whether he was the past or present, and the same anger he has with him doesn’t change, it only adds up now that he saw how Jimin is willing to throw away everything just for the said man.
“No! You’re mine! Mine!” yelled Jungkook and Jimin fell onto his knees that he wasn’t able to move. Helpless, that’s what he felt. Sharing the same feeling with the past Jimin whenever Jungkook is around.
“He is not! He is my husband, not yours!” yelled Yoongi back as he tried to go to Jimin’s but couldn’t as Jungkook was also using his power against him.
“You don’t love him like I do! If you did, he wouldn’t be back here to be with me! He deserves me more than you deserve him!” says Jungkook as he starts to walk to Jimin.
“Yeah, you’re right and that was because I was stupid but you’re not one to decide what my heart or his heart should feel. If you love him, you shouldn’t force him! Fuck, you’re scaring him and I hate it when I see him scared, when he cries at night not knowing that I know it. When he tried his best to be happy with everything and show me what life should and could be I was scared that I showed him the opposite. Because I’m scared to break his fragile heart but all the things I tried to protect him were also hurting him! You would never understand why I did what I did because you had never really loved someone like I do to Jimin! I love him more than I should. More than he daydreams of!”
Tears start to roll down Yoongi’s cheeks unconsciously as he angrily stares at Jungkook because he thinks he hasn’t been in love with anyone but he does, not with Jimin but he tries to shrug it off as much as he wants. He wants himself to think that Jimin is the only one for him, that it is forbidden to love a demon whom you had a contract with. Yeah, he is indeed in love with Taehyung and the other wasn’t aware of it that it kind of resembles Yoongi and Jimin’s relationship.
Chapter 34
“Yoongi!” screamed Jimin when Yoongi fell onto his knees, clutching to his aching heart, it felt like someone was tightly gripping his heart until it burst into pieces and it did, Jungkook clenched his right hand from nearby like he was squeezing something.
“Stop! Please! Stop hurting, Yoongi!” he pleads as he cries, eyeing his husband and trying to break open the invincible cage Jungkook had put him in.
“Only if you marry me.”
“But. .”
“Do as I say and I’ll let them go.”
“N-No! I rather die than see you with somebody else!” says Yoongi as he still tries to aid his aching heart by clutching his chest.
“But Yoongi. .”
“I would rather die, Jimin,” he replied as words coming from his mouth started to become breathy and slur.
Jimin closed his eyes as he tried to make a decision. After hearing what his husband had said, he wished he could have turned back time and done something different. Maybe he could’ve had Yoongi confess his love the way he did at this moment but never in a situation where he could die. But Jimin isn’t one to allow his lover to die. Even if Yoongi hates him for his decision, he will still love him.
No one owns his heart the way Yoongi does. After all, he fell first but the other seems to feel harder that dying isn’t something he isn’t scared of as long as the other is safe and breathing.
“I’m sorry, Hyung,” says Jimin, and a smile crept to Jungkook’s face when he heard the thing he wanted to hear from the other. He was still going to say something when heard a loud thud.
“Yoongi!” screamed Jin when he was finally able to move on his own without Jungkook controlling him to behave. He ran in their direction same with Jimin who managed to get himself out of the invincible cage he was in.
“What the fuck did you just do?!” asks Jungkook to Taehyung in anger whose now in front of him, holding the dagger that he used to stab Yoongi as it drips off the said man’s blood on the cold floor.
“What do you think?” he asks back, “If you’re not going to kill him, how are you supposed to win Jimin?”
Jungkook smiled in realization but what he didn’t know was that he did that so Jimin would be angry with the other. Which did happen.
“How could you?!” asks Jimin as tears roll down his eyes. He hugs Yoongi while holding his other hand to the wound, thinking that it will somehow stop the blood from flowing out of his husband’s body.
“Y-Yoongi hyung?” he whispers, “Please don’t leave me… Please..”
“I won’t,” he replied, breathily.
“Promise?”
Yoongi was about to reply when his wound suddenly ached so badly that he screamed in pain. You see, Taehyung isn’t helping Jungkook get rid of Yoongi for he knows that the other really won’t be human again after having one hundred souls as the other is bound to be in hell with him and that is what he is trying to do. If Jungkook is trying to prolong to end the contract, he is in no way going to let that happen. He had been hurting too much since Jungkook met the present Jimin.
“What’s happening? What are you doing to him?” angrily asks Jimin as he madly looks at Taehyung and Jungkook who are now standing side by side.
“Jimin, come here and just leave that dying body alone,” ordered Jungkook.
“No!”
“We have a wedding to finish! Now, get your ass here or I’ll. .”
“You will what? What are you gonna do with my brother?” asks Jin, shielding himself for Jimin and Yoongi.
“Brother, you say? He’s not your brother!” yells Jungkook as he motions his hands in the air, causing Jin to levitate from the ground and slam against the wall leading him to fall unconscious.
“Hyung!” cried Jimin.
He was lost. He doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t want to leave his husband’s side but he also wants to his brother’s side. Jimin is a damsel in distress right now and as much Taehyung wants to pity him for being in this situation he has to set that side so he can do his plan perfectly. A smile crept to his face as he saw Yoongi’s slow breathing, almost with a faint heartbeat.
“Why are you doing this?” asks Jimin in an almost whisper tone of voice.
“What do you mean Why I’m doing this? Of course, that’s because I love you! Can’t you see? I waited for you! I’d been waiting long enough just like I’d believe you would come back to me and you did! You’re now in front of me and we’re about to get married.”
Jimin laughed but it was not a happy one. This made Jungkook curious as to why.
“Is there something funny?”
“You’re just obsessed,” he whispered as he gripped Yoongi’s cold hands.
“What?” asks Jungkook. He heard what he said but he wants to believe he just misheard the word he said.
“Obsessed! I said, you’re just fucking obsessed!” he yelled in anger, “So what if you waited for me or for the person I looked like? I’m not him! He is not me!”
Jungkook was taken aback but he was also fuming in anger.
“How dare you! You fucking ungrateful brat!” he yelled back, walking towards Jimin, and Taehyung suddenly got scared of what Jungkook might do to Jimin. He tried to stop him but he was just pushed aside by the other.
“I was there when you were fucking alone! When fucking Dae treats you like someone you aren’t and locked you up for a long time! Father doesn’t even glance your way because he is disgusted at you! He was hoping for you to be like me, a man! And you aren’t and you know how fucking lost you are without us, without me in your life!”
While Jungkook was busy bursting his anger out at poor Jimin, only Taehyung noticed a white orb of light dancing in the air before it landed on top of Jimin’s hand holding a lifeless Yoongi.
The air in the room suddenly changed especially when Jimin giggled out of nowhere. It surprised both Taehyung and Jungkook.
For Jungkook, the giggle was too familiar. It wasn’t how the present Jimin would do and it was too late for Taehyung to realize what just happened.
“Is that what you made yourself believe all those years that I’m nothing without you or our parents? I haven’t been more free than myself when I was with Yoongi. Our family suffocates me, to be honest, our family is also the reason I became nothing when my happiness was taken away from me.” says Jimin, but more like the ghost of Jimin .
Chapter 35
JJungkook was dumbfounded when he realized the Jimin that was now in front of him was indeed, his half-brother. The Jimin that he’s obsessed with. The real Jimin has been waiting for a long time.
“Jimin,” he whispered, unaware of how his eyes became watery like tears were about to fall from his eyes.
“Hello, hyung. How have you been?” asks Jimin, giving a knowing and warm smile as he stares at his brother and then at Taehyung whose mouth is agape.
“H-How… I..”
“I had always been here, hyung. I didn’t leave and not because I love you as you want me to, but because I knew how alone you had always felt being in this house of ours. Pretending we are happy with anyone and everyone. Pretending we are perfect when we aren’t. You are just like me, hyung. You want the love others have because we didn’t have that kind of love growing up. We didn’t see that with our parents. Didn’t even feel it too, right?”
“N-No! You’re wrong!” lied Jungkook as he balled his fists to stop any emotions he might feel that unexpectedly he shouldn’t have but does.
Taehyung could hear how Jungkook’s voice cracked and as much as he wanted to run beside the other and comfort him, he couldn’t. It’s not that he is stopping himself but Jungkook is, and that is because he doesn’t want to show any weakness in front of the devil. And, there is that feeling again, the feeling where Jungkook feels small, lost, and vulnerable.
“Hyung, isn’t it enough that you had killed my happiness before on our time, and yet, here you are doing it again to this poor boy that has the same face as mine, with the boy that has the face of the love of my life? You killed Yoongi and now, you selfishly killed a man identical to him? You’re a real devil, aren’t you?”
“J-Jimin… I didn’t mean..”
“Yes, you mean it. You’re selfish! You’re just mad that you can’t have what others have and that you maneuver everything to end with the results you want. You’re so busy being wanted that you forget to just calm yourself down and look around you. Hyung, enough! You’re hurting yourself more than you had hurt me or the others. You’d been suffering for too long now. If you can just let go of the past and live a free man’s life with the soul that will take care of you as much as you want to be taken care of.”
Finally, the tears that Jungkook had been trying to stop from falling already fell and he wasn’t having it. He yelled his heart out. Angry at the world. Angry at everyone. He hates himself for being who he is right now but there’s no turning back. He will finish what he had started, what he had turned himself in.
He will finish the contract.
He will finally be human again and then he can restart his life.
But then.. the demon. Taehyung .
“No!” he yelled to himself. He doesn’t and will not admit it to anyone or himself about his feelings for the demon. He might just laugh at him if he found out.
He took the dagger from his pants pocket and yielded it in the air.
“Hyung!” exclaimed Jimin in surprise.
Jin who lost consciousness earlier is now starting to gain his consciousness back, saw Jungkook about to stab his brother. Even when he is stumbling his way to Jimin, he makes it in time to shield his brother from being stabbed and when Jin is ready to feel the pierce in his chest, he is surprised when he feels nothing.
Am I dead already? asks Jin to himself.
He only understood the reason why he didn’t feel any pain when he opened his eyes and that is because Taehyung shielded himself for them and now he can see regret in Jungkook’s eyes who now dropped the dagger with the demon’s blood and screamed in guilt.
Chapter 36
“T-Taehyung! I… I didn’t mean! Why the hell did you do that?” asks Jungkook, anger, worry, and guilt written on his face but Taehyung only smiled weakly before falling onto his knees.
“To stop you. Your brother is right. I’d been with you long enough to know what he had said was true. You’re lonely and you envy the love you want to have but can’t. Believe me when I say I know everything about you that you think I don’t and you hide from me. If only you knew.” says Taehyung, smiling to himself.
He was about to pull the dagger away from his chest when Jungkook hurriedly stopped him.
“You idiot! Are you trying to kill yourself?”
“I’m not trying to kill myself, Jungkook. I’m taking this dagger out of my system because it hurts!” replied Taehyung.
“And then what? You’re already bleeding! Thanks to you getting in the way but that doesn’t matter now. What matters is if you pull that out, blood will gush from your body, and that will kill you! Stupid! You can’t just leave me! What am I supposed to do if you’re not with me?!”
“But we have a contract, remember?”
“Fuck that contract! This isn’t my era anyways so it’ll be hard for me to fit except if you’re with me then it’ll be a little bearable to live in.”
“Aww, you’re making me soft.” teases Taehyung as he softly caresses Jungkook’s face with dried tears on his cheeks.
Jin gagged seeing how things quickly escalated between the demon and Jungkook and was about to find a way for him, Jimin, and lifeless Yoongi to get out of the room and this place while the two were having a world of their own when he heard what he thought his brother Jimin said to him.
“It’s nice to know that this boy who has a face like mine has a brother like you. Thank you for protecting me and your brother. I’m the orb of light from earlier. I’m the previous Jimin but don’t you worry. I’ll have Jimin back now.”
As the previous Jimin is about to leave the present Jimin’s body, he falls onto his knees which sends fear and worry to Jin especially when he hears Taehyung’s distressed voice calling Jungkook who now seems similar to Jimin, curling in intense pain that makes them both scream.
“What’s happening?!” yelled Jin.
“I don’t know! replied Taehyung whose now attempting to help Jungkook ease his pain but couldn’t.
As Jimin and Jungkook’s screams of pain became more intense and were now more unbearable for them to handle, that’s only when the two noticed, that the mansion started to shake and fall apart and that is when Jin remembered and realized what exactly was happening.
“Oh fuck no!” he yelled, pissed.
“Where are you going?” asks Taehyung as he holds Jungkook in his arms.
“To the room where the dollhouse is at!”
“Dollhouse? What do you mean? Why?”
“Yoongi figured the dollhouse that the previous Yoongi did and gave to Jimin as a gift is somewhat the heart and soul of this house therefore if that will be destroyed, so this house too.”
“What?”
“Yeah, but we didn’t think it would also affect Jungkook or Jimin in any way!”
“You idiots!”
“We’re not! You guys were the one who took our Jimin therefore we’re just getting him back from you two!”
Jin ran and opened all the doors he could to find where his husband and friend were. He was already losing hope when he realized that he hadn’t even been able to surpass half of the rooms the mansion has when he noticed a familiar white orb from afar wandering in the hallway.
“Who is it this time?” he asked himself but shouted the person’s name that came into his mind, “Jimin..?”
The white orb stops dancing frantically in the hallway and as Jin gets near to the orb, it starts to shape like a person who is facing back at him and not moving.
“.. Jimin?”
Jin almost stumbled when the ghost looked back at him and it was very identical to the present but the clothing and vibe were different - he was now in front of the previous Yoongi, the toymaker. The one who build the dollhouse for Jimin out of love and dedication for the younger.
“You know Jimin? Where is he?” asks the ghost.
“As much as I want to tell you where he’s at, I have to find the dollhouse you made for him before it becomes destroyed otherwise something might happen to him!”
“No! I don’t want Jimin to be hurt!”
“Then help me find that dollhouse you made for him!”
In a snap, Jin finds himself in front of Namjoon and Hoseok who stand in front of the dollhouse they are trying to destroy, beside him is the ghost who looks sad and hurt upon seeing the toy he made for Jimin.
“No! Stop!” exclaimed Jin who made the two do what he said.
“Jin!” greeted Hoseok with a big smile.
“Hello, Hoseok but I don’t have time for this,” he states.
“What you mean, darling?” asks Namjoon, “And where is my brother and Jimin?”
“Jimin’s dying, Yoongi is dead.” he deadpanned.
Hoseok’s mouth drops in surprise.
“What?!” they ask in unison.
“Long story but Yoongi is right. This dollhouse,” points at the dollhouse to emphasize, “is the heart of the house and not only it will destroy this mansion but it will also kill Jungkook and Jimin.”
“Why is Jimin affected? He is not the previous Jimin, right? Is it because he shares the same face as the previous one or because of Jungkook’s dark magic or so?” asks Namjoon, as his brother being death is not sinking yet in his head.
“Because the previous Jimin’s ghost possessed my brother’s body to make Jungkook realize some things but when he’s about to leave my brother’s body, they both cradle in pain like they’re dying and that is when I remembered what we had planned firsthand.”
“Oh shit, no,” says Hoseok.
“Hell yeah.” replied Jin, “So if we are planning to leave, we should just try leaving without destroying this dollhouse or have plan B.”
“What’s plan B?” asks Namjoon.
“Ask him,” replied Jin, staring behind Hoseok and Namjoon’s back which made the two curious about who he was looking at.
They turned their backs to see who it was and Hoseok almost fainted.
“Bring me to Jimin ,” says Yoongi who is now standing in front of the now-fixed dollhouse like it didn’t receive any damage from Namjoon and Hoseok.
Chapter 37
“I can’t believe my brother is dead but we’re helping a ghost he shares a face with from years ago find the love of his life who also happens to share the same face with your brother,” exclaimed Namjoon as they all ran back to the room where the supposed to be wedding was held.
“Jimin!” yelled Jin as he saw his brother’s body once again with the previous Jimin’s soul.
Taehyung turned his back and saw Jin with Namjoon and Hoseok who had the dollhouse in his arms.
“You’re back,” says Taehyung as he holds Jungkook in his arms who is now lying on the floor.
Jimin on the other hand rested his head on top of Yoongi’s dead body, finding comfort while catching his breath as he linked his hand with his.
“Sorry, didn’t know you guys would also die if we destroy this toy,” says Hoseok standing a few steps away from Jungkook and Taehyung.
“Didn’t know either,” replied Jungkook, breathily with his eyes closed.
“But how come? In reality, you two are no human so really, how?!”
“Probably because when I made this toy, I was thinking about their family, about Jimin for once having a happy family to live in his head. Didn’t think that this would be the heart of their home and their soul,” replied Yoongi who is now possessing the present Yoongi’s dead body, as he stroked Jimin’s hair softly.
“Yoongi,” called Jimin, smiling warmly as he looked at the other with loving eyes.
“Jimin, forgive me for leaving you without letting you know. It must have hurt you so badly to know I left you without telling you and that I wasn’t able to fulfill my promise to protect you and be with you as I told you.”
“It’s fine. You’re here now. That’s what matters. Do you still love me? “
“Silly, Of course. I won’t be having my soul stay here for a long time to search for you if I don’t. I don’t want you to go to your next life alone. I know how scary it is for you.”
Jimin softly giggled.
“Yeah, but you don’t have to wait now.”
Yoongi nodded and as Jimin and Yoongi were about to leave the present’s body, Jin stopped them.
“Not so fast you lovey-dovey ghosts! We’re not here to stop you from being together again but how are we supposed to get out of here? The sun is about to rise and we’re still here. We still need to get our brothers out of here.” pointing outside the window’s mansion to which the skies are now starting to have a little shade of light.
Taehyung looked at them and Jungkook painfully smiled seeing his brother and Yoongi whom he had killed many years ago to be so in love with each other that he had once tried to destroy.
“If that dollhouse he is holding is our home and soul’s heart since he made it with a thinking for my brother to have a happy life which didn’t happen, we should fulfill it and that might break the curse and help you all to get out of here.”
“He’s right. The only way for you to get out of here is if Jungkook will have your soul which he no longer wants so we have to continue the wedding,” added Taehyung, sharing the same thought Jungkook has in mind.
“Oh hell no! I thought you guys didn’t want to continue the wedding anymore!” exclaimed Jin.
“Not ours,” replied Jungkook, “Them.” pointing at Jimin and Yoongi.
“How are they supposed to be wed? They don’t have rings! The present Jimin and Yoongi are about to get divorced and that ring you’re supposed to give to Jimin is now being worn by Taehyung.” exclaimed Namjoon in distress.
“Oh,” replied Taehyung and Jungkook in unison.
“No, they have a ring,” says Hoseok.
“Huh? What do you mean they have a ring?” asks Jin.
“Yoongi, on your pants pocket!” exclaimed Hoseok, “The present Yoongi found a ring earlier and kept it. Get it. I know he still has it in his pocket and use that to be wed to Jimin.”
Yoongi did as told and found the ring. Unexpectedly, it was the ring he made for Jimin. The other thought he bought it but no, he didn’t. He made it with pure love and adoration for the younger. He had someone help him with how rings are made and he made the ring not just a proposal ring but a wedding ring as well since he didn’t have enough money to buy or do another one for himself. He just wants to give Jimin all the best that he can.
In a snap, Jimin is now walking down the aisle again and Namjoon is the one playing the piano as Taehyung, Jin, and Hoseok stand on the side as Yoongi waits on the altar beside Jungkook who is going to act as the priest for the both of them.
“Oh, how I wish this could happen again in real life with the present Yoongi and Jimin but our Yoongi is now dead.”
“Yeah, and here I am who doesn’t know what to feel about that since Jimin already knew how much Yoongi loved him from afar? Man, it took him a long while before he confessed his love for him but in the wrong time and setting.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll find a way for them to be together still in the present time,” says Taehyung, butting in the conversation. Jin was about to ask what he meant by what he had said but the tune stopped and all of them turned to look at Jimin and Yoongi who were now facing each other with their hands intertwined.
Chapter 38
The loud noise from the alarm woke Jimin up and the moment the younger opened his eyes, he was greeted by a familiar room.
“Huh?” was the first that came from his mouth. He looked around and so no one.
Was it all just a dream? he thought.
His heart pounded remembering everything he could remember about his weird dream and the divorce that was yet to be finalized when the door creaked open.
“Oh you’re awake now?” exclaimed Yoongi, smiling softly at him.
But Jimin was so confused.
Is this a dream? Am I still dreaming? he thought again.
“Hey, what’s the matter, baby?” asks Yoongi as he takes a seat on the edge of the bed, caressing Jimin’s cheeks and fingers.
“H-How? I mean… Why are you so sweet to me? Am I dreaming?”
“Am I not supposed to? I’m your husband.”
“But didn’t we just? You made me..”
“Made you what?”
Now, you all may be thinking that Jimin just had all of those happen in his dream but he wasn’t dreaming. Yoongi just wants to play dumb and tease the younger. He was just happy that he and Jimin had a second chance in life and love. He had a scolding session with the previous Yoongi as he was being called back into life and no, he’s not going to be dumb again and allow Jimin to be free and be with someone else. Sounds like the previous Jungkook, right? But damn, he is not letting the love of his life go away again. He had learned his lesson.
“I love you.”
“If this is a dream I don’t want to wake myself up but if you’re just pranking me, rest assured Min Yoongi that I will not only burn those signed divorce papers down but I will also choke you to death!” Jimin warned but Yoongi only giggled.
“What’s so funny?”
“You. You act like a kid.” he replied, staring at Jimin’s eyes, “Why don’t you act more like your age, hmm?”
“What do you mean to act like.. Mmh!” Jimin was stopped with his words when Yoongi softly kissed his lips which started to get so deep that he had to hold onto Yoongi’s shoulders otherwise he might faint.
Yeah, this is a good dream, he thought.
The shared kiss between them slowly starts a knowing heat that none of them wants to stop. It was too good.
Yoongi is now on top of Jimin, adoring everything about his husband that he is now peppering with kisses while the younger is full of joy at how much the older is showing and letting him feel love and cared for when the door bursts open and Hoseok came into view.
“Oh my god! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to interrupt you guys having sex but Jin wants you two downstairs! Alright? I’m going now. Bye!” says Hoseok who hides his red face on his palm but peeks at the couple for a second or two.
The couple only laughed at his sillyness and when Hoseok finally left, Yoongi spoke.
“This is not a dream, Jimin. Everything that happened is real but rest assured I’m not doing this thing for nothing and I am now more than willing to be the best husband for you from now on because of what had happened. It just made me realize a few things and one of those is for me not to be a coward anymore and just be real of how much I love you.”
Jimin with flushed cheeks, smiled warmly at him with watery eyes.
“And I love you too. Always.”
“And forever, Min Jimin.”
“That’s nice to hear rather than divorced Park Jimin.” he joked.
“As if I’ll let that happen. In your dreams.”
“Maybe in the next life?”
“Nah, you’re still going to be mine. No one else’s.”
Chapter 39
It’s been a year since the weird occurrence with the dollhouse, Park’s family, Jungkook, and Taehyung happened but it seems like yesterday.
Jimin is now happy that he has redeemed himself in life and work. He was able to capture a lot of readers by sharing his take on the infamous Dollhouse, skipping the part about his supposed wedding with Jungkook. He just lets the people know how Dollhouse isn’t just a mansion that everyone should be scared of as it is the complete representation of reality that there are families that are trying to be picture perfect when they aren’t and that we are supposed to be real and show love with one another as it might cause some difficulties with the family members later on life.
If you ask about what happened with Taehyung and Jungkook and the Dollhouse, they’re still there but Jungkook is no longer taking souls to fulfill a contract with the demon who is now his partner for who knows how long it will be but is happy to finally be able to have a love he wished for his own before. Taehyung is enjoying himself being with the other. It’s not like he hasn’t before, it’s just more fun to know that the other loves him back as much as he does. That’s all that matters to him.
And the souls of previous Jimin and Yoongi? Well, they’re there, somewhere. Happy to be where they are, together.
Or, maybe…
“Hyung! Believe me! I saw it! Right in front of my eyes! Yoongi, in his office, is making a wood carving almost similar to how toys were being made before yesterday like Gepetto from Pinocchio and Jimin! Yes, Jimin, wearing dresses!” exclaimed Hoseok as he ate breakfast at Jin and Namjoon’s dining table.
The couple only laughed.
“Your eyes must be playing tricks on you,” says Jin.
“Yeah.” Namjoin agreed.
“Wait, what is this Dollhouse doing here?” asks Hoseok in surprise when he notices the familiar toy across the living room.
“What do you mean, what ? The lovey-dovey couple bought it back home, remember?”
“No? I don’t remember them or anyone us bringing that here.”
The three looked at each other, sharing the same sentiment and realization.
“Oh, fuck.” the three whispered in unison.

DOLLHOUSE

There you have it. That’s the end of my Yoonmin English Fanfiction. I mean, who would have thought I’d be able to create and finish one only because of the song Dollhouse by Melanie Martinez with the mix of one of my favorite childhood movies, The Haunted Mansion starring Will Smith.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this Fanfiction of mine and will be able to have a good sleep, not a curious one because of the ending.
This is again Brictorique, thanking everyone and signing off for this story.
