EPISODE I: MISS VIOLET

Denny Anne’s fingers felt ice-cold against the metallic surface of the sleek wristwatch—a piece of technology that now felt less like a gadget and more like an extension of her own skin. For minutes, she had done nothing but stare blankly at it, crushed under the suffocating weight of the secret it held.

“Sis? You alright there?”

She flinched as David materialized in front of her, practically throwing himself onto the edge of her desk with a half-eaten burger in hand.

“I-I’m fine,” Denny Anne stammered, rubbing the back of her neck as she tried to smooth over the tremor in her voice. “Just… lost in thought about what happened last night.”

“You mean… about you-know-what ?” David lowered his voice, taking a slow bite. He leaned in slightly, his eyes locking onto hers with rare seriousness. “Don’t stress over it. I’ll take care of the heavy lifting. Miss Violet—or should I say Denny Anne? Look, only Miss Rita and I know your true identity. And honestly? You did the right thing.”

Denny Anne let out a long, shaky breath. “I hope so. Anyway, I’m performing at GeoBar 23 later tonight. The talent fee isn’t bad—it’ll cover my electric bill.” A fragile, forced smile flickered across her lips.

“Sounds good! Just remember, if you need tactical backup, you know who to call,” David grinned, then tapped her desk. “By the way, Miss Rita needs the file for Case 67. You wrapped that up yet?”

“Yeah, it’s done. Here, hand it to her,” she said, passing a thick folder across the desk. She shot him a playfully strict look. “And you know eating inside the ops room is strictly prohibited, right?”

“Guilty as charged,” David chuckled. “Where are you off to?”

“Just going to retouch my makeup,” she replied, grabbing her bag as she stood up.

Inside the quiet sanctuary of the restroom, she faced her reflection in the mirror. Pale skin, dark circles beneath her eyes.

“God… I miss having a normal life,” she whispered to herself, her thumb gently tracing the smooth face of the watch.

FLASHBACK

It was a quiet, moonless night. Denny Anne was walking home along a deserted road when the absolute silence was violently shattered.

BANG!

A gunshot echoed from right behind her.

“Jesus Christ! What was that?!” she shrieked internally. Her hands frantically checked her own body, searching for torn fabric or warm blood. Realizing she hadn’t been hit, she instinctively dove into the tall, thick weeds lining the ditch.

“Stay down… Lord, please, don’t let them see me. I’m too young to die!” she prayed in a panicked whisper, forcing her chest to stop heaving.

Through the tall grass, she caught sight of a woman sprinting wildly toward her position. The woman was drenched in sweat, bleeding heavily, and dragging her feet. But before she could reach the safety of the ditch—

BANG! BANG!

Two swift shots rang out. Denny Anne’s world ground to a halt as she watched the woman collapse onto the asphalt, just feet away from her hideout.

‘I am now the star witness to a literal murder case,’ her mind screamed, her throat instantly drying up.

Three tall men stepped into the dim streetlight, standing over the bleeding body.

“Good job, team. Miss Blue is finally out of the equation,” the apparent leader said. His voice was bone-chillingly cold, completely devoid of remorse. “If she had just stayed out of our business and backed our faction, it wouldn’t have come to this.”

“What should we do with her, Boss? With this many rounds in her, she won’t last until dawn,” another man grunted.

“Let her body rot right here. But double-check her vitals first,” the leader commanded.

One of the operatives knelt down, pressing two fingers against the victim’s neck. “No pulse, Boss. She’s completely gone.”

“Good. Let’s move before someone stumbles upon us.”

Denny Anne held her breath, listening as their heavy footsteps faded into the distance. Silence slowly reclaimed the dark road.

She was just about to crawl backward out of the brush when a cold, wet hand clamped firmly around her ankle.

“Don’t… don’t step out yet… They might still be watching…” a raspy voice whispered from the ground.

“HOLY SHIT! A TALKING ZOMBIE!” Denny Anne nearly jumped out of her skin, her heart hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird.

“I’m… not dead… I am Miss Blue… of the MIB,” the dying woman gasped out, every syllable a struggle.

“Hold on! I’m calling an ambulance! The police! Anyone!” With trembling hands, Denny Anne reached for her phone, but Miss Blue’s blood-soaked hand weakly gripped her wrist. The warmth of the blood smeared against Denny’s cold skin.

“Don’t… I beg you. If they find out you saw me… they will hunt you down and slaughter you too.”

Denny Anne’s eyes widened in sheer horror. “Who… who are they? What even is the MIB?!”

“Magic Investigation Bureau… Those men… they are traitors within our ranks,” Miss Blue choked out. With her remaining strength, she pulled a sleek, high-tech wristwatch from her tactical pocket and pressed it into Denny Anne’s palm. “I don’t have much time… You must… protect this at all costs.”

“W-What am I supposed to do with this?!” Denny Anne asked, tears overflowing and blurring her vision.

“What is… your name?”

“De-Denny Anne… Why?”

“Press the red button… quickly!”

Denny Anne obeyed. The watch instantly flared with a soft, neon glow, and a crisp, synthetic voice resonated from the micro-speaker:

“I am Georgina. New user acquisition in progress. Please state your name for confirmation.”

“De-Denny Anne!” she blurted out.

“Hello, Denny Anne. Welcome to the Magic Investigation Bureau. I am Watch. Please confirm your alias.”

“Miss! What do I say?! It’s asking for an alias!” Denny Anne panicked, looking down at the dying operative.

“Create a… code name. Like mine… Miss Blue. And remember… never give this device to anyone… especially not to Na—”

Miss Blue’s head slouched sideways. Her hand went limp, dropping to the dirt as her breathing ceased entirely.

“Please confirm your alias!”

the AI repeated coldly, unbothered by the tragedy unfolding.

“Stop rushing me! I’m under so much pressure right now!” Denny Anne panicked, frantically rummaging through her tote bag for any spark of inspiration. Her fingers caught on a single, stray crayon—colored purple—belonging to her younger sibling.

“Violet! That’s it! Miss Violet!”

“Thank you. New user confirmed: Miss Violet. Welcome to the Bureau.”

GeoBar 23: Ghosts of the Past

7:00 PM Sharp.

GeoBar 23 was buzzing with low chatter, hazy with smoke, and heavy with the scent of high-end alcohol. Yet, the moment Denny Anne stepped onto the small stage, the noise subtly died down.

“Ann, knock ’em dead!” Helen, the bar owner, whispered with an encouraging nod.

“Thanks, Helen,” Denny Anne offered a warm, bright smile—the exact persona she used whenever she stepped into her identity as Anne Marie .

As the ambient stage lights shifted to a soft violet, the music began to swell. Denny Anne took a deep breath and brought the microphone to her lips.

“There was a time when broken hearts and broken dreams were over…”

As the velvet notes of the classic Debbie Gibson ballad echoed through the venue, her eyes casually scanned the crowd. But her breath caught.

Seated at the VIP table near the front was a man dressed in a tailored, ridiculously expensive suit that practically radiated wealth and power. There was something about the sharp angle of his jaw—a familiar shadow that made her heart race, not out of admiration, but from the sudden jolt of an unburied memory.

Backstage Chaos

The moment her set finished, Denny Anne excused herself and headed toward the dressing room. But before she could shut the door, it was violently shoved open.

In walked the man from the VIP table. His eyes were heavy, his stride unsteady, and he reeked of expensive bourbon.

“Helen, I want her. How much?” the man demanded, stepping into the room with absolute arrogance.

Helen recoiled in shock. “Mr. Sanchez? What are you doing back here?”

“Answer the question. How much for the singer?” Kent growled, stepping forward and aggressively grabbing Denny Anne by her forearm.

“Mr. Sanchez, Anne Marie isn’t for sale! She’s a guest performer!” Helen pleaded, trying to step between them, but the intoxicated Kent shoved her aside.

“Helen, let me handle this,” Denny Anne said softly. Though her tone was calm, her eyes burned with a dangerous, icy fire. She turned to face Kent directly. “Let go of my arm. Unless you want to regret being a complete pig.”

Kent burst into a dark, mocking laugh that made Denny Anne’s skin crawl. “Oh yeah? And what are you gonna do about it? Punch me? Or are you gonna give me a kiss?”

“Option C,” Denny Anne whispered.

In a split-second motion Kent never saw coming, Denny Anne grabbed his wrist, twisted his arm, and leveraged his own leaning weight against him. With a brutal, echoing THUD , she slammed his heavy frame straight onto the wooden floorboards.

The Secret of Miss Violet

“Helen, go call security!” Denny Anne commanded, keeping her knee pressed firmly against Kent’s back.

“R-Right! I’ll use the landline downstairs! Be careful, Anne Marie!” Helen panicked, sprinting out into the hallway.

Left alone in the room, Kent groaned on the floor. He struggled to push himself up, but despite his position, a cocky smirk remained plastered on his face as he looked up at her.

“Nice moves… Where’d a sweet singer learn to throw down like that?”

“That’s on a need-to-know basis,” Denny Anne replied coldly.

With her free hand, she discreetly tapped the side of her wristwatch. A faint, high-pitched beep hummed from the device.

In a fraction of a second, a localized, high-voltage neural pulse discharged from the watch straight into Kent’s body. Kent gasped violently, his muscles seizing up before his eyes rolled back, and he slumped unconscious onto the floor.

Denny Anne slowly stood up. She wiped a tiny speck of blood from her lower lip, staring down at the motionless body of Kent Sanchez.

“You really haven’t changed a bit, Kent,” she muttered bitterly, her voice dripping with quiet disdain. “Still the same arrogant asshole.”

EPISODE II

“ANNE MARIE CERVANTES”

Good morning po!”

“Good morning din, dear .

“Good morning, Miss Rita! Wala po si Violet ngayon. May pinuntahang work interview …

FLASHBACK: Ang Unang Pag-ugnay

“Miss Nemenzo? Is there a problem?” tanong ni Ma’am Lopez.

“Hi Violet, you have an incoming call from Rita. Accept or Decline?”

“Georgina, teleport the subject to my office! Now! “

“At sino kayo?

“Hi, I am Anne Marie Cervantes. Pinapunta ako ni Mr. Sanchez para sa isang meeting. Is he around?” pilit ang kaba sa kanyang boses.

“Are you Anne Marie Cervantes, right?” agad na tanong ng binata.

“Miss Cervantes? Are you okay? Hello?” pagpukaw ni Kent sa kanya.

“I-I’m so sorry, Sir. Yes, I am Anne Marie Cervantes.”

“Pasok ka. Kumakain ako ngayon, saluhan mo na ako. Baka nagugutom ka rin,” anyaya ni Kent na tila napaka-amo ng mood .

“Sir, sabi po ni Helen pinapatawag niyo ako? Bakit po?” tanong ni Denny habang maingat na umuupo.

“Yes. I’m so sorry about what happened last night. Super lasing lang talaga ako. Pasensya ka na,” seryosong sabi ni Kent.

“It’s okay, Sir. Wala na po ’yun.”

“Para makabawi ako sa ’yo… since wala akong secretary o assistant ngayon, I’ll hire you. Balita ko kay Helen, may experience ka na sa ganoong trabaho?”

“Opo, Sir.”

“Great! Can I have your full name? Para maipasa ko na sa HR ang mga requirements mo.”

Napalunok si Denny Anne. “Ah, pangalan ko po?”

“Oh, wait. Anne Marie Cervantes, right?”

“I am Kent Sanchez. At bukas na bukas, magsisimula ka na, okay?”

“Salamat po, Sir.”

“Pero bago ka umuwi, samahan mo muna akong kumain sa food court. Nakakawalang gana kapag mag-isa. Don’t worry, hindi bawas sa sweldo mo ’to. Pambawi lang, Miss Kayla… please? “ pagpapacute ni Kent.

“Sige po,” maikling sagot ni Denny, hindi makatanggi sa titig ng binata.

“Great! Thank you talaga!”

“And besides… parang may kamukha ka.”

Halos tumigil ang paghinga ni Denny. “P-po? Sino?”

Yumuko si Kent at nag-iwas ng tingin. “Pero impossible… kasi namatay na siya.”

ANG PAGLALAYAG NG MGA ALAALA

FLASHBACK

Dahan-dahang tumango sina Denny Anne at David.

KASALUKUYAN

“Let’s go, Kayla?”

“Good luck, Sis!” masayang bati nito.

“Salamat!

Call me Najuvia .

I see red dots in your area! Lima sila, mabilis na lumalapit!”

“Copy. Guide us back to the van!” utos ni Rita.

“Report their locations, David!”

“West team is at 568 ft… mukhang nagtipon-tipon sila sa tindahan kung nasaan kayo kanina. Pero wait…” Natigilan si David, ang kanyang pawis ay tumulo sa noo. “Nasaan ang isa? Oh no! Nasa ground floor! 5 ft na lang ang layo sa van!”

“David, stay calm!

“Matapang. Well, any last words?” nakangising tanong ng lalaki.

BANG!

“Oh my God… David?

“Ayan! You look pretty and sexy sa outfit mo na ’yan!

Sanchez Group of Companies

“She will be here soon. At bakit ka ba nandito?” balik na tanong ni Kent habang abala sa pag-aayos ng kanyang mga papeles.

“I’m just bored. At balita ko, maganda raw ang bagong secretary mo? Baka naman jowain mo lang ’yan at gawing trophy , ha? I’m telling you, Kuya—stop it,” babala ng batang Sanchez.

“Helena Grasya! Tumigil ka nga. Huwag ngayon, marami akong ginagawa,” saway ni Kent, bagaman bakas ang pagkapika sa boses.

“Okay, okay! Pero oras na makita ko ’yang bagong secretary mo, I’ll warn her . Bye!” nakakalokong paalam ni Helena bago padabog na isinara ang pinto.

Ang Pagdating ni Kayla

Ilang minuto ang lumipas, hinihingal na pumasok si Denny Anne sa opisina. Bahagyang gulo ang kanyang buhok at namumula ang mga pisngi dahil sa pagmamadali.

“Why are you late?” bungad ni Kent.

“I know this is not a valid excuse, Sir… pero dahil po sa traffic,” hingal na sagot ni Denny.

EPISODE IV

THE MISSING RUBY (PART ONE)

“All right, team. We have a new mission,” bungad ni Rita.

“Sinasabing may dala itong sumpa.

Good luck, Team!”

Narinig mo ba? Group of five, hindi six. Malinaw?”

Gising-gising din ’pag may time, ghorl!” tatawa-tawang kutyang nito.

“David, enough. Let’s go to our base,” saway ni Denny Ann, bagaman may lihim ding ngiti sa labi.

“Chris, you can talk to me without touching me. Alam mo namang hindi ako sanay na may lalaking humahawak sa akin. Sorry,” aniya habang nakatitig sa screen ng laptop.

“Yeah, I know. Sorry din. Pero… gusto ko lang itanong kung may pag-asa ba ako sa kanya?” mahinang tanong ng binata.

Napakunot-noo si David. “Sino? Kay Shairmaine? Akala ko ba sinabon mo na ’yun kanina?”

“Hindi. I mean… kay Violet.

“Whatever. Pero itago mo lang ’to, please. Hindi ko lang talaga alam kung bakit hindi ako komportable.”

[KASALUKUYAN]

“David, tapos na ba kayo riyan?” pagbasag ni Denny Ann sa katahimikan.

“Almost, Sis!”

Biglang bumukas ang pinto at iniluwa nito si Ced. “Hi guys! I know you’re busy, pero hihiramin ko muna si Violet, okay? Follow me to my office.”

“At may mas madilim pang kuwento rito. Noong 1970, isang nagngangalang Mercedes ang nagmamay-ari nito. Ayon sa police report na na-hack ko, pinatay ni Mercedes ang kanyang tatlong anak at asawa bago niya kinuha ang sarili niyang buhay. Sa crime scene, natagpuan si Mercedes na mahigpit na nakahawak sa bato… na balot na balot ng dugo.”

EPISODE V: THE MISSING RUBY (PART II)

PREVIOUSLY

Rita handed down a high-stakes directive to her team: locate and retrieve the missing ancient ruby. Meanwhile, new players emerged from the shadows—figures capable of turning Denny Anne’s already chaotic existence upside down.

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

In Ced’s Laboratory…

The air inside the sterile, hyper-modern laboratory carried a sharp mixture of antiseptic, scorched electric ozone, and high-end perfume. Framed by towering glass monitors and floating holographic schematics, Denny Anne stood frozen, carrying the suffocating weight of a secret she couldn’t share.

“Yes, Ced? Where is Miss Rita?” Denny Anne asked, her senses heightened by the unnatural silence hanging over the room.

FLASHBACK

Before Denny Anne officially stepped into the shoes of Miss Violet, her physical identity had to be meticulously erased by the hand of Ced Apolinar.

Cold sweat trickled down Denny Anne’s spine as she scrambled behind Rita through the dimly lit, endless corridors of MIB Headquarters. Their footsteps echoed loudly off the reinforced walls.

“Miss Rita, where are we going?” Denny Anne asked, her heart hammering against her ribs. The gruesome image of Rita’s dead sister was still burned fresh into her memory.

“You need a clean identity!” Rita answered without missing a beat, her thumbs flying across her mobile interface.

They ground to a halt before a massive, seamless steel wall. Moments later, the floor vibrated as heavy pneumatic locks disengaged with a sharp, echoing hiss.

“Ced! I need a full overhaul!” Rita commanded.

From the blinding blue light within the vault stepped a striking figure with golden hair, clad in a pristine, tailored lab coat. Her sharp brows pulled tight, holding a glowing plasma scalpel like a paintbrush.

“You’re interrupting my work again, you witch! What is it this time?” the scientist snapped, clearly annoyed at being pulled away from her experiments.

“May we come in?” Rita asked, stepping right past her prickly demeanor.

“Of course, come in!” Ced waved her hand, inviting them into the sanctuary of her lab. The moment the heavy blast doors sealed shut behind them, Rita dropped her voice into an icy register.

“Ced, this girl is the sole witness to my sister’s murder. Her life is forfeit out there. She’s under MIB Witness Protection—and I need you to alter her appearance entirely.”

A spark of wild scientific curiosity flared in Ced’s eyes. “Alright… What’s her designated alias?” she asked, stepping close to examine Denny Anne’s wristwatch—evaluating every micro-detail.

“Your code name,” Rita instructed, turning to the trembling girl.

“M-Miss Violet!” Denny Anne stammered, raising her chin with sudden resolve.

“Fascinating! Miss Violet, follow me,” Ced smirked, tying back her long golden hair so it wouldn’t interfere with her work.

“I need a complete biological and visual transformation, Ced! Make her unrecognizable!” Rita urged, her eyes burning with a dark mix of vengeance and fierce protection.

“Leave it to me,” Ced replied. She led Denny Anne into a compact inner chamber bathed in ambient violet light and filled with floating chrome machinery.

Denny Anne swallowed hard, staring nervously at the metallic arms hovering above her. “A-Are you going to perform surgery on me? Like… Botox or plastic surgery?” she squeaked, defensively covering her cheeks.

Ced burst into a dramatic laugh, placing a manicured hand over her face. “Oh, honey, please! I’m an elite MIB bio-engineer, not a strip-mall cosmetic surgeon! Just because I wear a lab coat doesn’t mean I do cheap filler. Don’t worry, I’m only modifying key external markers—starting with your hair and signature kinetic profile.”

Taking a deep breath, Ced raised her hands, activating the sleek holographic interface to initiate the complete transformation into ‘Miss Violet.’

BACK TO PRESENT

Denny Anne’s mind snapped back to the present. She was still standing in front of Ced’s primary workstation. But something was off about the mad scientist today—her breathing was shallow, and her eyes darted nervously toward the heavy doors.

“I need to give you this intel… without Rita knowing,” Ced whispered rapidly, biting her lower lip as if holding back a massive wave of panic. “Look, we all know I’m the resident genius around here. But we stumbled upon something… and you’re not going to believe this.”

“What is it?” Denny Anne asked, a sudden chill creeping down her spine.

Ced leaned across the metallic desk, lowering her voice to a barely audible murmur. “Denny Anne… you have to be extremely careful around—”

The heavy vault doors slid open without warning. A rush of cold air swept into the room, accompanied by the sharp, rhythmic click of heels.

Rita stepped inside.

“Are you two hiding something from me?” Rita asked, her eyes narrowing as her icy gaze traveled slowly between the two of them.

Ced flinched slightly, but her composure instantly snapped back into place. “No, Rita! It’s nothing like that!” she insisted, shooting Denny Anne an intense, silent warning to keep her mouth shut.

“Then what is it?” Rita demanded, her right eyebrow arched in absolute suspicion.

Ced offered a strained, brilliant smile, effortlessly shifting the conversation. “I was just telling Miss Violet to exercise extreme caution on this deployment. I’m handing over their new tactical loadouts right now.” She pulled open a heavy metallic drawer, revealing an array of glowing, state-of-the-art MIB gadgets.

Denny Anne caught the cue instantly. “Yes, Miss Rita. Miss Ced was just walking me through our gear deployment. Miss Ced, may I take these so the team can head out?”

“Of course! Of course! Here—use them wisely,” Ced said quickly, handing over a sleek tactical case packed with micro-tech.

Denny Anne took the case and turned toward the door, feeling the heavy, suffocating weight of Rita’s gaze burning into her back until she stepped out into the hallway.

Once the doors sealed them in, Rita stepped closer to Ced’s desk. “Ced… Any actual updates on Georgina’s case?” she asked, her voice cracking under a rare layer of grief and rage.

Ced lowered her head, nervously adjusting her golden hair as she avoided eye contact. “That’s… what I wanted to tell you earlier. But no. Still nothing new,” Ced lied softly, her eyes falling onto the classified blue folders lying flat on her desk—files packed with horrifying, unanswered truths.

Rita let out a hollow, exhausted sigh. “Fine. I’m heading back to my quarters.”

As Rita turned her back, Ced let out a long, quiet breath she had been holding in. She reached out, her hand hovering just inches above the blue folder containing the true investigation log.

Suddenly, the doors hissed open once more as Rita stuck her head back inside.

“And by the way, Headquarters requested an emergency batch of your neural inventions. Get to it.”

Ced swallowed hard, her fingers freezing over the file. “U-Understood!”

“Good,” Rita snapped, letting the heavy door slam shut.

With Denny Anne’s Team…

At the edge of the sprawling, cavernous Chamber of Portals, the rest of the unit stood waiting. Armed to the teeth, their form-fitting tactical suits hummed with soft neon accents in the dim light.

“Violet, we’re locked and loaded,” David said, tightening the straps on his combat gloves.

Denny Anne looked up, tapping the glowing violet interface on her wristwatch. “Alright. Let’s move to the warp pods.”

A synthetic, emotionless voice resonated through the high-tech hall:

“Team Violet, Portal Chamber is fully charged.”

The five operatives stepped toward a row of reinforced glass pods built into the floor. As each of them stepped inside, a concentrated violet laser swept down their bodies, scanning their biological markers.

“I will never get used to these blinding lasers,” Christian grumbled, throwing his forearm over his eyes.

“Relax, it’s just verifying your biometrics,” Denny Anne called out.

The automated overhead speaker chimed sequentially:

“Agent Violet—Scan Complete.”

“Agent David—Scan Complete.”

“Agent Christian—Scan Complete.”

“Agent Marie—Scan Complete.”

With their access confirmed, the heavy glass doors sealed shut, and a surging whirlpool of kinetic energy began to hum around the pods.

“Here comes the dizziness…” Denny Anne muttered, shutting her eyes tightly as the internal gravity fluctuated wildly.

Christian smirked through the glass of his pod. “Hey Violet, want me to hop into your pod and hold your hand?”

“Shut up, Chris!” Marie yelled from the adjacent pod, rolling her eyes. “These pods are built for single occupancy! Save your smooth lines for later!”

“Alright, alright, cut the chatter! Engaging warp!” David announced, slamming his palm onto the main control console.

“I’m ready, baby!” Marie cooed, blowing a kiss toward David.

David rolled his eyes with a laugh. “Marie, I’m gay! Give it a rest!” He slammed the primary trigger, opening a localized warp tear in space-time.

Meanwhile, in Rita’s Private Office…

From her darkened room, Rita stood staring at a floating holographic display tracking Team Violet’s warp trajectory.

“Good luck, Denny Anne…” she whispered, holding a framed photograph of her sister, Georgina, tightly against her chest. “Once we catch the bastard who murdered my sister… you can finally have your life back.”

Her shoulders trembled as a single, hot tear traced down her cheek, falling onto the glass frame.

“If ghosts are real, Georgina… please, give me a sign. Show up in my dreams… Tell me who killed you.”

Back with Team Violet…

A violent burst of light shattered the darkness as the team was deposited into a murky, suffocating wilderness. The night air was thick with humidity and the unsettling screeches of unknown nocturnal creatures.

They had reached the search zone for the ruby.

Denny Anne stumbled out of her pod, clutching a nearby tree trunk as her stomach churned violently. “Ugh… that warp translation was brutal…”

“Here, sis. Drink this,” David said smoothly, tossing her a sleek thermal flask.

Denny Anne gulped down the water, forcing her mind back into mission mode. “David, give me the target coordinates.”

David brought up his holographic tactical tablet, its soft blue light cutting through the foliage. “Tracker indicates the artifact signature is three thousand feet due East.”

Marie scanned the dense brush. “Are Shairmaine and her squad already on site?”

As if on cue, the crunch of dry leaves and heavy combat boots echoed nearby. Out from the gloom stepped Shairmaine and her strike team—clad in expensive, custom red tactical armor, arms crossed with smug superiority.

“Well, well. Look who dragged themselves out of the dirt,” Shairmaine sneered, a condescending smirk plastered on her face. “Looking for me, losers?”

Marie stepped forward, hands on her hips. “First of all, yeah, we were looking for you—we heard wild snakes were loose out here! Second of all, loser ? Check a mirror, Agent Shair-loser!”

“Enough, Marie,” Denny Anne interjected firmly, stepping between them. “Our objective is the ruby. We recover it and secure it for the National Museum. That’s it.”

“Violet’s right. Stay focused,” Christian added, his hand gripping the hilt of his weapon.

SWOOSH!

A sharp, whistling tear split the air!

A lethal, obsidian-tipped arrow cut through the canopy, hurtling directly toward Shairmaine’s chest!

Before the arrow could pierce her, Denny Anne lunged forward, tackling Shairmaine to the mud as the arrow embedded itself deep into the tree behind them.

“Get up, Shairmaine!” Denny Anne barked, her eyes instantly scanning the high branches for sniper positions.

Shairmaine scrambled to her feet, frantically dusting off her expensive suit with a look of utter disgust. “Oh my god! My suit is completely ruined!”

Marie rolled her eyes, adjusting her gear. “You should be thanking her it’s just mud on your suit, not your blood on the grass!”

“Stay sharp! David, scan the perimeter!” Denny Anne ordered from a low crouch.

“Deploying micro-drones!” David called out, launching three fly-sized reconnaissance drones into the canopy.

“Christian—deploy team shield!”

“On it!”

Christian drove his tactical staff hard into the earth. A violent shockwave of kinetic energy erupted from the point of impact, forming a translucent, glowing violet dome around them.

Shairmaine sneered at the barrier, her arrogance overriding basic protocol. “Don’t stick with these deadweights. Their luck is rotten! Move out—the snipers are gone!” she barked at her squad, stepping right outside the protective shield.

“Shairmaine, don’t!” Denny Anne yelled.

It was too late. The moment her squad breached the perimeter of the shield, a lethal rain of arrows poured down from the treetops! Screams of agony echoed through the glade as several of Shairmaine’s operatives took arrows to their limbs.

“Marie, emergency medical!” Denny Anne commanded, maintaining her defensive stance.

David stared at his tablet, his face going pale as dozens of hostile red thermal signatures illuminated the screen. “Violet… there are too many of them! We’re completely surrounded!”

Marie rushed to the wounded operatives, applying aerosol spray-bandages and rapid-acting painkiller injections.

“Your team can’t continue, Shairmaine,” Marie urged, tapping the locator pins on their vests. “Press your recall buttons now! Get back to HQ before you bleed out. It’s not fatal, but Ced needs to examine those wounds.”

Tearful and defeated, the four wounded operatives slammed their recall buttons. A flash of blinding white light enveloped them, teleporting them instantly back to base.

David turned to Shairmaine, who remained standing despite a bleeding graze on her upper arm. “What about you, Shairmaine?”

Shairmaine yanked her arm back, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “I’m staying. It’s a scratch! I am not letting Violet take all the glory for this recovery!” She shoved Marie aside as she pushed past.

Marie stumbled back, clutching her arm. “That girl is pure poison!”

“Marie, give me your tactical X-ray visor!” Denny Anne called out.

Marie quickly handed the visors over, but Denny Anne pushed them back into her hands.

“No—you wear them, Marie. Call out their positions while I draw their fire!” Without a second thought, Denny Anne leaped out from behind the energy shield to act as live bait.

“Guide her, Marie! I’m covering her back!” Christian shouted, slamming his personal kinetic shield emitter.

Denny Anne sprinted through the dark brush, weaving past a barrage of whistling arrows. Christian caught up from behind.

“Violet! Your shield button isn’t active!” Christian yelled. Reaching out, his hand slammed directly onto the center trigger of her tactical suit—located right on her chest.

Denny Anne froze mid-stride, her face flushing bright red with a mix of utter shock and sudden fury.

PAKWAK!

A sharp slap echoed through the trees as her hand struck his cheek.

“I have hands, Christian! I could have pressed my own chest button!” she fumed, covering her chest with both arms, her cheeks burning crimson.

“I was just trying to protect—”

Before Christian could finish, another volley of heavy arrows rained down directly above them!

“INCOMING!” Christian roared.

Using his own body and active kinetic shield as cover, Christian tackled Denny Anne to the damp earth just as an explosive impact rattled the ground.

They slammed into the soft grass, with Christian landing directly over her. His face hovered mere inches from hers, his arms braced on either side of her head.

Amid the chaos of the jungle, the whistling of deadly arrows, and the rustling leaves… the world around them suddenly went completely silent.

At such terrifyingly close proximity, they could feel the heavy, erratic thumping of each other’s hearts. And in the soft glow of the violet shield, their eyes locked.

EPISODE VI: THE MISSING RUBY (PART III)

PREVIOUSLY

Denny Anne and her team found themselves trapped in the heart of an uncharted, suffocating wilderness. But before they could march toward the coordinates of the elusive artifact, a lethal hail of silently gliding arrows rained down from an unseen enemy.

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

Time hung suspended.

On the rain-dampened earth, Christian and Denny Anne remained frozen, pinned under the weight of each other’s gaze. The violent, erratic thumping of their hearts competed with the sharp thwack of steel-tipped arrows splintering the ancient bark of nearby trees.

“Get up, you two star-crossed lovers!” David’s voice cut through the chaos, laced with a breathless laugh. He was leaned casually against a glowing wall of crackling energy barrier, completely unbothered.

As if struck by electricity, Christian and Denny Anne scrambled back. Flushed cheeks, erratic breathing, and an awkward silence instantly stretched between them. They quickly straightened their gear, scanning the shadowy canopy for their invisible attackers.

Before they could adjust their footing, Shairmaine crossed her arms, her brows pulled into a harsh, furious line. Her steps were heavy, fueled by unadulterated venom. “Hey, Violet ! Stay the hell away from my Christian! You treacherous little leech!” she shrieked.

Before Denny Anne could even draw breath to respond, Marie materialized from the shadows behind Shairmaine. Without an ounce of hesitation, Marie slapped a strip of heavy-duty duct tape right over Shairmaine’s mouth.

“Shut your mouth,” Marie growled, not even looking up from the glowing interface of her tactical tablet. “You’re ruining our battle rhythm. Unless, of course, you’d prefer a steel broadhead through your skull?” She casually motioned toward Christian and Denny Anne, who were smoothly weaving and rolling through a endless barrage of incoming projectiles.

Meanwhile, David stood immobile, his sharp eyes cutting through the dark foliage. He calculated every flutter of leaves, measuring the trajectory and angle of every incoming strike.

“I’ve got them!” David called out, his voice sharp over the comms. “Violet, do you copy?”

“Copy, David!” Denny Anne gasped, twisting mid-air to evade a whistling arrow that grazed her cheek. “What do you have?”

“They’re positioned in a tactical clock formation—South, East, West, and North-East,” David analyzed rapidly. “Notice the spin on their shots? Everything is curved to the right.”

“And? What’s the call?” Denny Anne exchanged a split-second, knowing glance with Christian.

“Wait, is Chris on this line?” David asked.

“Loud and clear, David. Give us the play,” Christian chimed in, his knuckles turning white around the grip of his weapon.

A dark smirk spread across David’s face. “Perfect. Time for the Couple Combo.”

“Mmph-what?!!” muffled a desperate shriek from behind the duct tape.

Marie gave Shairmaine a harsh shove forward. “You want a turn out there? Go on, step outside the barrier!”

“On it, David!” Christian called out without a second thought. He turned to the young woman beside him, his gaze softening into a blend of quiet anxiety and absolute trust. “Are you ready for this?”

Denny Anne let out a slow breath, a faint, resolute smile tugging at her lips. “Well… do I really have a choice?” She reached out, her fingers wrapping around his. A sudden jolt of warmth and grounding strength surged through her at his touch.

“Alright,” David’s voice crackled through their ear pieces. “When I shout DODGE , move in exact synchronization. It’ll force their firing lines to cross!”

They nodded in unison, bodies coiled like tightened springs.

A tense second ticked by. Then—

“East—DODGE!”

In flawless, mirrored precision, Christian and Denny Anne dropped beneath the arc of incoming fire. The calculated maneuver forced two converging streams of arrows to collide in mid-air, shattering them into splintered rain.

Meanwhile, in Ced’s Office…

The laboratory was suffocated by a heavy, eerie silence. The moment Rita’s footsteps faded down the hall, Ced replaced his lingering anxiety with a cold, desperate thirst for the truth.

Before him lay a heavy blue file folder, stamped with a striking azure thumbprint belonging to Georgina.

“This is Georgina’s file…” Ced whispered, his fingers trembling as he traced the seal. “Please… let my suspicions about Rita be wrong.”

He broke the seal and flipped open the classified pages, reading the handwritten entry in a strained, muted breath:

MBI AGENT GEORGINA — CODE NAME: BLUE

LOG: DAY 13

Agent Magenta has been confirmed as a operative of the Sand Witches line. I have discovered their master plan: they intend to utilize military-grade, high-tech wrist devices to hijack human neural pathways. Through these devices, they can synthesize airborne pathogens capable of silent mass extermination. That is why I seized the prototype watch from their containment lab…

Ced’s breath caught in his throat. The room seemed to spin as the terrifying, pitch-black truth finally unraveled in his mind.

Meanwhile, in Rita’s Suite…

Rita stood motionless before a floor-to-ceiling glass panel overlooking the misty skyline. Suddenly, the air in front of her shimmered, warping light and pressure.

“Head Director Liam?” Rita gasped, caught off guard.

A towering, three-dimensional hologram resolved before her. An elderly man clad in a tailored dark tuxedo, leaning heavily on a gold-capped cane, radiated absolute authority even as light particles.

“This is merely a secure projection,” Director Liam’s voice boomed softly, his sharp eyes scrutinizing her every micro-expression. “Give me a status report on the new recruit—Violet. Is she performing? Did your training hold up? Headquarters received word that she successfully retrieved the missing artifacts from the Canadian vault last week.”

“The reports are accurate, Director,” Rita replied smoothly, her voice a flawless mask of cold professionalism. “Agent Violet is currently deployed on an active retrieval mission for the missing ruby.”

“Good,” Director Liam snapped subtly. “However, Magenta … keep your eyes on the Sand Witches. They are growing reckless. I expect a full intelligence update by dawn.”

With a soft hum, the hologram dissolved into nothingness.

Back in the Wilderness…

Deep within the suffocating greenery, amid the ongoing onslaught, Marie suddenly froze. Her eyes locked onto the intricate geometric carvings etched into the arrows embedded around them.

“Wait… I know these markings!” Marie yelled, stepping right out from behind the energy shield without a second thought.

“Marie, wait! Stop!” David shouted, reaching out, but she was already gone.

Marie raised both hands high into the air, exposing her palms, and bellowed into the canopy in a native Visayan dialect:

“Kadyot lang! Dili mi anhi para makig-away! Dili kagubot among tumong!”

(Wait! We are not here to fight! We do not seek violence!)

An abrupt, heavy silence blanketed the jungle. The whistling of arrows ceased.

Slowly, from the high branches and dense, tangled brush, figures emerged—warriors painted in intricate tribal sigils, holding heavy longbows drawn taut.

A tall warrior adorned with a crown of dark eagle feathers stepped forward, his eyes burning with suspicion. “Kinsa mo? Ug nag-unsa mo sa amoang banwa?”

(Who are you? And why do you trespass upon our sacred lands?)

Marie took a steadying breath, bowing her head in a gesture of deep reverence. “Ako si Marie, ug akoa silang mga kauban. Naa miy gipangita na usa ka bato.”

(I am Marie, and these are my companions. We are searching for a lost stone.)

She tapped her wrist device, projecting a floating holographic rendering of the ancient artifact.

The moment the warriors laid eyes on the glowing blue image, a collective gasp rippled through their ranks. They lowered their weapons slightly, murmuring in hushed, astonished tones.

Christian crept up behind Marie, his eyes wide with disbelief. “How on earth do you know their tongue?”

Marie gave a faint, smug grin. “Research. I’m fluent in roughly a hundred dialects at the moment. Relax—they aren’t going to kill us.”

The head chief raised his hand, making a sweeping motion as he turned his back. “Sunod kamo sa amoa. Naa didto sa amoang banwa ang bato ni Ribung Linti.”

(Follow us. The stone of Ribung Linti rests within our sanctuary.)

David stroked his chin, falling into step behind them. “Why did he call it the stone of Ribung Linti?”

Marie glanced back, whispering, “Philippine mythology. They still honor the ancient deities here. Respect it. Ribung Linti is the God of Lightning and Thunder.”

The team followed the tribal warriors deeper into the sacred glade. But just as the atmosphere settled into a tense truce, a sharp, jarring sound shattered the stillness—a standard, mundane cellular ringtone echoing off the ancient trees.

Every single tribal warrior whipped around, eyes narrowed in instant mistrust.

Denny Anne offered a stiff, apologetic smile, holding up her hands defensively. “It’s… just a phone! Hehe, I just need to take this real quick. Go ahead, I’ll catch up!”

She slowed her pace, lingering back as the group moved forward, and clicked the receiver.

“Hello, Sir?”

“Where are you, Kayla?” a voice answered. It was laced with an exhausting, heart-wrenching sorrow.

Denny Anne froze, her heart dropping. “I’m currently on a mission, Sir—” The words slipped out before her exhausted brain could filter them.

“A mission? In the middle of the night?” the man demanded, his voice cracking. “What kind of mission? You aren’t at Helen’s Bar. Where are you?”

Realizing her slip-up, Denny Anne’s mind raced to cover her tracks. “I—I’m so sorry, Mr. Sanchez. I’m just at home. I’m writing a story for an online platform and lost track of time. Is… is everything alright, Mr. Kent?”

A heavy, shaky sigh resonated over the line, carrying a weight of grief that bled through the speaker. “Please… come stay with me tonight. Today is my best friend’s birthday… the one I told you about. The one who looks exactly like you… Do you remember?”

Denny Anne pressed a hand against her chest, feeling a sharp pang of empathy. “Sir, I really can’t—”

“I’ll pay you double for the night,” Kent pleaded, his voice breaking into quiet sobs. “Just… please don’t make me be alone tonight.”

She closed her eyes. She couldn’t bear the sheer agony in his voice. “Alright… fine. Give me twenty minutes.”

“Kayla, let me pick you up—”

“No, Sir, don’t worry about it. I’ll take a cab. Just wait for me.”

The moment she ended the call, a shadowy figure stepped out from behind a massive banyan tree. David touched her shoulder gently.

Denny Anne looked at him, her eyes swirling with conflict. “David… can I?”

David offered a soft, reassuring smile full of unconditional warmth. “Go. I’ve always got your back.”

A wave of overwhelming gratitude washed over her, and she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. “Thank you so much. I promise I won’t be long.”

“Leave everything here to me,” David whispered.

Stepping swiftly behind the thick trunk of an ancient tree out of sight from the others, David pulled out a sleek, glowing holographic disguise chip.

“Ready?” David asked.

“Ready,” Denny Anne confirmed. She pressed the primary home node on her tactical suit, initiating her recall sequence.

In a flash of light, she vanished, teleporting straight back to her apartment.

Meanwhile, David pressed the micro-chip into the side of his neck. Within a fraction of a second, MIB disguise tech blurred his physical frame, reshaping his height, facial features, voice, and aura until he was an absolute, flawless duplicate of Denny Anne.

From down the trail, Christian’s voice echoed through the trees. “Violet? David? Where did you guys disappear to?”

David—now looking and sounding entirely like Denny Anne—stepped out from behind the tree. “I’m right here! Sorry—David suddenly felt terrible and had to drop out. He’s heading back to guide us remotely via the satellite link from the office.”

Christian trotted over, nodding in understanding. “Alright, let’s keep moving before the local wildlife decides to hunt us down.” He casually slung a heavy arm over ‘her’ shoulder, pulling David close as they walked.

Trapped in his disguised form, David couldn’t pull away without giving himself up.

Christian glanced down at ‘her’ with genuine tenderness. “Are you okay? You look a little down.”

“Nope! Just not really in the mood,” David answered effortlessly, modulating Denny Anne’s exact pitch and inflection.

Yet, feeling the comforting warmth of Christian’s arm draped over him, David let out a soft, silent sigh inside his mind.

If only things were different… but I know I don’t stand a chance. It’s so obvious how deeply you two love each other, David thought, a bitter-sweet flutter rising in his chest as he walked side-by-side with the man he secretly cared for.

Meanwhile…

A soft blue hue faded as Denny Anne materialized in the center of her quiet apartment. Her tactical gear disengaged automatically.

She quickly threw on a pair of simple clothes, fixed her hair, and practically ran down the stairs to hail a cab along the quiet street outside.

As the taxi glided through the neon-lit city, Denny Anne leaned her head against the cool glass window. Looking at the blurred city lights, she let out a sad, faint chuckle at the absurdity of her chaotic double life.

“How on earth…” she whispered to herself, a bittersweet smile lingering on her lips as the cab vanished into the dark avenue, “…did I manage to forget my own birthday?”

EPISODE VII: THE MISSING RUBY (PART IV)

PREVIOUSLY

Denny Anne slipped away into the night to reach Kent, leaving her teammate David behind to pull off the ultimate deception. Using advanced MIB disguise tech, David transformed into her exact double, keeping their high-stakes mission from crumbling into chaos.

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

Inside the battered yellow cab creeping along the pitch-black, silent road, Denny Anne sat staring at the icy blue glow of her smartphone.

Displayed across the screen was today’s date—a day only she and her buried past truly understood.

“I can’t believe I forgot my own birthday…” she muttered, a faint, bitter smile touching her lips.

Moments later, the taxi ground to a halt before a grand, sprawling estate. She had arrived at the Sanchez residence.

“Keep the change, Kuya,” she said, handing over the fare. The driver offered a polite nod before pulling away into the damp night air.

As the taillights faded, Denny Anne was left standing alone against the biting night chill, facing the massive, wrought-iron gates of the estate. She took a slow, heavy breath. Every stone, every pillar of this place was etched into her soul.

“It’s been so long since I last stood here… Not since—”

Her breath caught in her throat as a bright beam of light cut through the gloom. An elderly security guard holding a flashlight approached the gate, squinting through the bars before uttering her real name.

“Ma’am Denny Anne? Is… is that really you?”

Denny Anne instantly gripped the strap of her bag, her face masking the sudden jolt of panic.

“Oh! Good evening, Po,” she answered smoothly, altering her pitch into a polished, professional register. “I’m Kayla Mendoza—Sir Kent Sanchez’s new assistant.”

The old man blinked, scratching at the thin patches of gray hair on his head. “Ah, forgive me, Ma’am! I thought you were… Ah, never mind. You’re the one Sir Kent has been waiting for. Come in, come in!” He pushed the heavy gate open with a low groan of metal.

“Thank you,” Denny Anne replied with a soft smile, though a sharp pang pinched at her heart.

As they walked down the paved stone driveway toward the main mansion, the old man broke the silence with an easy grin.

“Ma’am Kayla, I’m Berto. Just call me Mang Bert—keeps me feeling young, right?” He chuckled softly under his breath.

FLASHBACK

The memories rushed back to Denny Anne with vivid clarity—back to the bright, quiet mornings before her world splintered into secrets and shadows.

“Good morning, Mang Bert! I brought you fresh pandesal!” a younger Denny Anne beamed, handing over a warm brown paper bag to Kent’s loyal houseman.

“Ah, absolute perfection with my morning coffee, Ma’am!” Mang Bert accepted it gratefully, giving her a conspiratorial wink. “By the way, Sir Kent said you should go straight up to his bedroom.”

Denny Anne’s cheeks flushed a violent crimson as she ducked her head. “Mang Bert, please! Don’t say things like that, you’re making me nervous! Goodness, we need to graduate college first before any of that!”

Mang Bert roared with laughter, taking a loud sip of his coffee. “Ma’am, I didn’t say a single bad thing!”

BACK TO PRESENT

The harsh reality snapped back into focus as Mang Bert reached for the heavy brass door handle.

“Please forgive an old man’s eyes, Ma’am Kayla. It’s just… you look so much like Ma’am Denny Anne. But that’s impossible, of course. She’s gone. I was there at the wake myself…” Mang Bert’s voice trailed off, a profound sadness clouding his eyes. “I guess I just miss her.”

He pushed the grand doors open. Denny Anne’s chest tightened so hard it was difficult to draw breath.

“Thank you, Mang Bert… Where is Kent?”

“Second floor, right wing. That’s Sir Kent’s room,” the old man directed, pointing up the winding marble staircase.

“Got it…” Denny Anne whispered nervously, her feet feeling like lead as she ascended toward the second floor.

Meanwhile, on the Mission…

Deep into the dead of night, the team—consisting of Marie, Christian, Shairmaine, and David (still flawlessly disguised as Violet)—arrived at the hidden tribal sanctuary nestled in the dense jungle.

Shairmaine crossed her arms, scanning their surroundings with a deep frown. “Where on earth is David?”

David didn’t miss a beat, modulating his vocal cords to mimic Violet’s exact tone. “Miss Rita recalled him to headquarters. He’ll be monitoring our telemetry remotely from the office.”

Shairmaine rested her hands on her hips, stepping right into his space. “Fine. What’s the play, Violet?”

David turned to Marie, gently tapping her shoulder. “Marie, ask them where the ruby is kept.”

Marie nodded, stepping forward and offering a respectful bow to the elder chief. “Apo, pwede ba namo mahibaw-an kung asa na ang bato na among ginapangita?”

(Elder, may we know where the stone we seek is kept?)

The old chief stared into the pitch-black shadows of the wilderness before answering in a grave, resonant tone:

“Naa sa amoang langub, pero mas maayo na buntag na ninyo adtoon ug kuhaon ang Bato ni Ribung Linti. Kay delikado ug daghang mga halas ug lain pang mananap ang naa didto.”

(It lies deep within our sacred cave. But it is best you retrieve the Stone of Ribung Linti at daybreak. The dark brings dangerous serpents and ancient beasts.)

Marie turned back to the team. “The chief is right. Entering an unmapped cavern at night is suicide. Besides, I have zero interest in getting bitten by a venomous viper.”

David nodded, prioritizing the team’s tactical safety. “Then we make camp here tonight and move on the cave at dawn.”

“Great call. I’m completely drained anyway,” Christian said, stretching his arms above his head.

Marie pointed toward a traditional bamboo and nipa hut built on stilts. “Apo prepared accommodations for us. It’s a bit cozy, but it fits three of us comfortably…” She paused, shooting a glare at Shairmaine, “…excluding our resident villain here.”

Shairmaine sneered back, rolling her eyes with a dramatic sigh.

Grabbing his tactical pack, Christian spoke up. “You girls take the hut. I’ll just set up a tent out here in the clearing.”

Shairmaine immediately lunged forward, locking her arms around his bicep. “I’m staying with you, baby! We can share!”

Christian yanked his arm free, shooting her a deadpan stare. “Shairmaine, how about you sleep out here in the tent alone, and I’ll take the hut with Marie and Violet?”

Marie let out a snort of laughter. “Pfft! Girl, you have the grace and shame of a leech!”

David stepped between them to cut the feud short. “Enough. Go inside the hut, Christian. It’s unmapped territory out here—wild predators don’t care about tactical gear.”

“Fine, but I’m sleeping right next to you, baby,” Shairmaine purred, grabbing Christian’s arm again.

Christian shot ‘Violet’ a desperate, pleading look that practically screamed SAVE ME .

Sighing in unison, the four of them filed into the small wooden hut to settle in for the night.

Back at the Sanchez Mansion…

Denny Anne’s steps were agonizingly slow as she approached the heavy oak door on the second floor. She knocked softly.

The door swung open almost immediately, revealing Kent. His hair was a disheveled mess, his eyes bloodshot and swollen, and his hand loosely gripped a half-empty bottle of cognac alongside a crystal glass.

“Sir, you’re completely drunk! That’s enough,” Denny Anne said, instinctively reaching out to take the glass from his hand.

The moment Kent locked eyes with her, his shoulders slumped. “I’m fine, Kayla… Thank you for coming,” he rasped before collapsing forward, wrapping his arms tightly around her.

“Sir?” Denny Anne froze, stunned by the sudden embrace and the overwhelmingly familiar scent of his cologne.

Kent’s chest heaved, and within seconds, quiet, gut-wrenching sobs echoed against her shoulder.

“Why did she have to leave me?” Kent wept, his voice completely broken. “Ever since she died… I couldn’t look at another woman. There was no one like her… no one.”

A sharp, unbearable ache bloomed in Denny Anne’s chest. She raised her hand, gently stroking the back of the man who was still mourning her, unaware she was right there in his arms.

“Sir… I’m right here to listen. Let’s sit down first,” she whispered softly.

“I’m sorry, Kayla… I’m so sorry,” Kent sobbed like a lost child.

She guided him over to the edge of the large bed, helping him sit down.

He always puts up such a tough, cold front, Denny Anne thought to herself, her heart overflowing with helpless affection and pity. But deep down, he’s just a fragile, broken romantic.

She eased him onto the pillows, pulling up the duvet and using a warm cloth to gently wipe the tears from his face. “Get some rest, Sir…”

Meanwhile, in the Jungle Hut…

The moment Christian, Marie, and David fell into a deep sleep, Shairmaine quietly slipped out of her sleeping bag.

Before sneaking out, she activated a sleek wrist emitter, projecting a lifelike, three-dimensional hologram of herself sleeping peacefully under the blanket.

Griping her tactical gear, she slunk out of the hut and headed straight into the thick gloom toward the coordinates of the cave.

“Wait until morning? Please,” Shairmaine scoffed, tapping her tactical scanner as she tracked the blinking red dot on the radar. “Why waste time on tribal superstitions when I have top-tier MIB tech? Once I secure that ruby myself, that precious little Violet is going to be completely obsolete.”

She clicked on her high-intensity flashlight, stepping into the mouth of a gaping, pitch-black cavern.

“Snakes? Right. Don’t these villagers know real snakes don’t hide in caves anymore? They live in the city—and sometimes, they even pretend to be your best friend!” She flipped her hair with absolute arrogance, venturing deeper into the subterranean chill.

Back inside the Hut…

Christian stirred in his sleep, turning onto his side to face ‘Violet’.

“Violet?” Christian murmured softly, his voice thick with late-night warmth.

David’s eyes snapped open in absolute panic. “Violet’s not here!” he accidentally blurted out—in ‘Violet’s’ voice.

Christian’s brows pulled into a deep knot as he sat up. “What do you mean she’s not here? What are you, a ghost? What are you even talking about?”

From the dark corner of the room, Marie groaned loudly, covering her face with a pillow.

“Ssshh! If you two are planning to hook up, do it silently. My phone is at two percent and I don’t have enough battery to film it for blackmail.”

“MARIE?!” both Christian and David shouted in disbelief.

“Quiet! Unless you want to wake up the sleeping dragon next to you. Goodnight, lovers,” Marie grumbled, tossing her blanket over her shoulders and turning her back to them.

An awkward, heavy silence settled over the room. Under the soft stream of moonlight filtering through the bamboo slats, Christian turned to David, his eyes dead serious.

“Violet… If I were to actually court you… would I stand a chance?”

David’s heart hammered violently against his ribs—trapped inside the physical form of the girl Christian loved.

“Of course you would…” David whispered softly.

A brilliant, breathtaking smile lit up Christian’s face. “So… we’re together now?”

David immediately shook his head, tapping Christian’s arm lightly. “Hey! Just because I gave you permission to court me doesn’t mean we’re officially a couple! Go to sleep, Chris. We have a big day tomorrow.”

David turned away, pulling his blanket up.

“Fair enough,” Christian chuckled softly. Without warning, he reached out, sliding his arm around David’s waist and pulling ‘Violet’ snugly against his chest.

David froze, feeling the overwhelming warmth of Christian’s body and the rapid, pounding rhythm of his own heart.

If you only knew, Christian… I’m not Denny Anne, David thought, his eyes fluttering shut in a bittersweet rush of emotion. I know this is wrong… but why does this feel so real?

Oh God, Denny Anne… Please don’t let me turn into a snake. What am I doing?! David screamed internally, even as he leaned subtly into the embrace.

Inside the Deep Cavern…

Deep within the damp, suffocating darkness of the subterranean cavern, Shairmaine tapped furiously on her erratic scanner. The air around her grew unnaturally cold, carrying the sharp, metallic stench of decay.

“My tracker says it’s right here! But where?” she muttered, flashing her light across the ancient stalactites hanging like jagged teeth from the ceiling.

Frustrated, she slapped the side of the device. “This stupid piece of tech is broken! It says the signature is right behind me—”

The moment she turned around, the ambient temperature plunged to absolute zero.

Her flashlight flickered once, twice—and died, plunging the cavern into pitch-black utter darkness. As the flashlight hit the wet stone floor, its rolling beam briefly illuminated a nightmare:

A colossal, thick, scaled tail—wider than a trunk—slithered out from the abyss.

“AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! HELLLLPPPPPP!!!”

A blood-curdling shriek echoed off the stone walls. Before Shairmaine could even draw her weapon, the massive, muscular tail whipped forward, coiling around her waist with crushing force, and dragged her screaming into the pitch-black depths of the earth.

Will David fall for the illusion and betray his best friend?

And what terrifying creature now holds Shairmaine in its grasp?

EPISODE VIII: THE MISSING RUBY (PART V)

PREVIOUSLY

Denny Ann’s unit decided to postpone their cave exploration until morning. Unbeknownst to them, Shairmaine slipped away in the dead of night to claim the Ruby for herself. Meanwhile, Denny Ann paid a midnight visit to the Sanchez Estate to confront Kent.

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

At the Sanchez Estate…

Denny Ann sat on the edge of the plush bed, staring into Kent’s hollow, melancholy eyes. The air inside the sprawling bedroom felt heavy, suffocating—steeped in expensive bourbon and buried ghosts.

Kent leaned back, spilling the unresolved grief that had haunted him for years.

“Even after seven years… I still can’t accept that she’s gone,” Kent confessed, his voice barely a whisper. “Her and her close friend, David… vanished into thin air. I hired the best private investigators money could buy, but every trace went cold. My gut tells me a dark syndicate put a hit on them.”

Denny Ann sat frozen beside him, biting her inner cheek to keep her lips from trembling under the sudden wave of emotion.

KENT SANCHEZ’S POV

I’ll admit—the first time I laid eyes on Kayla at that club, I thought she was Denny Ann. That’s why, loaded on bourbon, I completely lost my head and grabbed her. It was pure drunk desperation.

Thank God Helen cleared things up and explained she was just a part-time singer at her lounge. That’s why I offered her a job on the spot as my personal assistant.

Besides… it’s impossible for her to be Denny Ann. As I told her, I saw Denny Ann’s body with my own eyes in that vacant lot seven years ago.

The contrast between them is night and day anyway: Kayla is soft-spoken, polished, and reserved. Denny Ann… Denny Ann was fiery, funny, and boyish. That’s what made me fall for her.

And now, Kayla is staring at me with those intense eyes. It feels like she’s trying to tell me something beneath the surface.

No… stop it, Kent. You’re just drunk.

END OF POV

Denny Ann shifted slightly closer, choosing her next words with precision. “Sir… after that night… did your investigators ever find any leads regarding Miss Denny’s friend?”

Kent slumped against the headboard, closing his eyes tightly as he rubbed his temples. “I’m… I think the liquor is getting to me. But no. I’m almost certain David met the same fate.”

FLASHBACK

Inside the cold, classified depths of MIB Headquarters, Rita stood over a sleek metallic gurney bearing an unmoving female body.

“Miss Rita… how did you manage this?” Denny Anne whispered, staring at the motionless corpse.

Rita held up a microscopic, translucent microchip pinned between precision tweezers.

“Through bio-neural mimicry,” Rita explained, turning to Denny Anne and David. “Insert this chip into the base of your neck, and your outer cellular structure will realign to match the target profile. However, it operates on a strict stability decay curve. And most importantly—hydro-reactivity. The moment this chip comes into contact with liquid, the signal short-circuits and fails.”

David adjusted his collar, frowning at the corpse. “So what’s the play with… this?” he gestured toward the gurney.

Rita turned her sharp gaze to Denny Anne. “Violet? What’s your play to convince the syndicate that you’re dead once and for all?”

Denny Anne took a deep, shuddering breath. “I… I know what to do.”

Under the shroud of midnight, they loaded the decoy into a blacked-out transport van. They staged the scene in an overgrown vacant lot nestled near the perimeter of the Sanchez Estate. Shortly after the van slipped into the shadows, Kent’s car turned down the dark road on his way back from Denny Anne’s family residence.

“Where are you, Denny Ann?” Kent muttered to himself behind the wheel, his headlights cutting through the fog. Suddenly, a figure caught his eye in the overgrown lot.

“Is someone out there? Wait… that uniform…”

Kent slammed his foot on the brake! The tires shrieked against the damp asphalt. He threw his door open and stumbled into the dark weeds.

When he reached the clearing and saw the lifeless, familiar face staring blankly up at the night sky, his legs gave out entirely. Kent collapsed into the mud.

“Denny Ann? No… Why?!” he sobbed into the empty night, clutching her cold hand.

BACK TO PRESENT

At the Rainforest Safehouse…

Christian burst through the wooden door of the hut, nudging David (who was currently morphed as Violet).

“Wake up! Shairmaine’s gone!” Christian urged.

David bolted upright, rubbing his eyes in confusion. “What? She was literally asleep across the room an hour ago!”

Marie stepped out from the shadows, tapping her glowing tactical wrist-pad. “Bad news, ‘Violet.’ That snake set up a pre-recorded light projection to trick us while she snuck out. She’s probably halfway to the cave by now.”

David cursed under his breath. “Wait—let me comm ‘David’ back at Headquarters to run a perimeter scan,” he said, still half-asleep.

He scrambled off the cot, but in his rush, his forearm clipped a full glass of water sitting on the table. The water splashed over the brim, soaking right through his trousers!

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, Violet!” Marie gasped.

David went pale as the icy liquid soaked through his skin. “I-It’s fine! I’ll just change into dry gear and call the center! Give me a second!” He grabbed his tactical bag and bolted into the small washroom at the back of the hut, slamming the bolt shut.

Shit, shit, shit! Denny Ann and I are going to get exposed! David panicked, his heart hammering against his ribs.

Rita’s explicit warning echoed through his mind:

“Remember, David and Denny Ann—exposure to water destabilizes the neural disguise matrix. This chip was engineered by my sister Georgina with Ced’s bio-tech. Once synced with your nervous system, it monitors every organ in real-time. If it suffers a fluid overload anywhere on your body, the entire illusion unravels.”

David stared into the small mirror as his skin began to ripple violently.

“Great. I feel like a bloody mermaid… one splash of water and the tail comes back,” he grumbled through gritted teeth as the matrix glitched out.

He yanked a fresh bio-chip from his kit, pressed it firmly behind his ear, and barked the system override:

“Identity Profile: Violet Denny Ann—ACTIVATE.”

A brilliant wave of violet light washed down his body. His jawline softened, his chest and hips realigned, and his vocal cords tightened back into the precise frequency of Miss Violet.

David slapped his dynamic cheeks in the mirror. “Gotta give credit to MIB tech… instant gender-swap without the surgical bill!”

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

“Violet, you good in there? Did David pick up the comms?” Christian called out from the hall.

David quickly covered his neck as his internal voice swapped back to a smooth female register. “Yeah! Just changing gear! I’ll make the call out front!”

Deep Inside the Cavern…

In the damp, pitch-black subterranean depths of the ancient cave, Shairmaine found herself bound tightly to a thick bamboo pillar. As consciousness slowly returned to her pounding head, she overheard two indigenous guardians speaking nearby.

“The foolish girl had no idea she brought herself straight to the beast as an offering,” one guardian grunted, sharpening a bone knife.

“What do these outsiders even want with the relic?” the second muttered.

A tall female elder standing near a stone altar spoke in an icy, authoritative tone. “They will not take it. The Ruby harbors an ancient, volatile force.”

Shairmaine groaned, her vision clearing as she blinked away the darkness. She spotted three figures gathered around a glowing pedestal—and recognized one of them instantly.

“Wait… You’re the villager who showed us the safehouse! Where am I?! Untie me right now or my team will level this place!” Shairmaine demanded, frantically trying to reach her tactical weapons.

The elder turned with a chilling composure, holding up Shairmaine’s confiscated gadgets and tracking devices. “Looking for these?”

Shairmaine’s eyes widened. “What do you want from me?! Let me go!”

A male guardian stepped forward, holding a pulsating, brilliant crimson gemstone—the long-sought Ruby . “You came for this, didn’t you?”

Before Shairmaine could process his words, the man threw his head back and swallowed the glowing stone whole!

Shairmaine stared in absolute disbelief. “What the hell?! Is this a superhero movie?!”

Her sarcasm vanished instantly.

A low, violent tremor rocked the entire cavern floor. The male guardian’s veins bulged against his skin, glowing a blinding crimson. Sharp, obsidian-like scales sprouted across his flesh as his spine cracked and expanded—transforming him into a towering, terrifying reptilian creature with razor-sharp talons and burning red eyes!

Shairmaine shrieked in terror, pulling frantically against her restraints as the beast let out a deafening roar that shook dust from the cavern ceiling.

The elder turned to Shairmaine, her lips curving into a dark, terrifying smile.

“This is the true power of the Ruby.”

TO BE CONTINUED…

EPISODE IX: THE MISSING RUBY (LAST PART)

PREVIOUSLY

Shairmaine came face-to-face with the true keeper of the Ruby, only to witness a terrifying ritual unfold in the subterranean depths of the cavern.

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

Inside the Cavern…

Shairmaine’s hands were bound tightly against the cold, damp stone wall of the cavern. Yet, even pinned at gunpoint in the middle of hostile territory, her signature arrogance didn’t waver for a single second. She arched a perfect eyebrow, glaring at the villager who had just swallowed the glowing crimson stone.

“FYI, that isn’t magic—it’s pure bio-chemical engineering!” Shairmaine sneered, rolling her eyes. “That stone contains volatile compound chemistry and high-grade energy science. I won’t bother explaining the details to you because I know primitive minds like yours will just default to ‘magic’ anyway.”

The villager’s jaw clenched tightly. Thick, dark veins bulged along his neck as his skin flushed a sinister red.

“Silence, girl… before I make sure you never breathe another word,” he growled, his voice dropping into a guttural, inhuman rumble.

At the Sanchez Estate…

Kent walked down the grand staircase, his eyes locked on Denny Ann—who was currently maintaining her cover as ‘Kayla’ while packing her belongings. He walked over, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.

“It’s really not safe to commute alone at night… especially for a girl,” Kent said, a genuinely soft concern lingering in his eyes. “You can stay here. I mean… in the guest room! Please. I really can’t afford to lose my personal assistant.”

And so, Denny Ann ended up spending the night in the estate’s opulent guest suite.

At dawn, as the first rays of sunlight hit the nightstand, her personal mobile phone vibrated furiously. David’s name flashed across the screen. She quickly slid the answer button and brought the receiver to her ear.

“Yes, David? Good morning—how is everything on your end?” she asked softly.

David let out a heavy sigh over the line. “Absolute disaster. I almost blew our cover earlier. But that’s not the main problem right now—can you check if Shairmaine made it back to the office yet?”

“Hold on,” Denny Ann whispered, raising her wrist.

Dropping her voice into a murmur, she tapped her smartwatch interface. “Watch… locate Agent Shairmaine Chavez.”

A few seconds passed before the synthetic AI voice resonated quietly from the speaker:

“Agent Shairmaine is currently registered as ‘Active on Mission.’ Geographic coordinates locked in unknown sector.”

Denny Ann brought the phone back to her ear. “David, her status is still active in the field. Don’t worry, I’m heading back to reinforce you right now.”

Before she could disconnect, a soft, familiar voice spoke from behind her!

“Miss… Kayla?”

Mang Bert stood by the door, holding a silver coffee tray. Tears glistened in the old man’s eyes, his face frozen in absolute shock.

Denny Ann went pale, her blood running cold. “Mang Bert… did you hear all of that?”

The old butler nodded slowly, a warm tear spilling down his weathered cheek. “I heard everything, miss… Your friend called you ‘Denny Ann.’ You… you really are Miss Denny, aren’t you?”

Denny Ann rushed forward, quietly closing the heavy door behind him. She gently took the old man’s trembling hands into hers.

“Mang Bert, I’m so sorry… but I had to disappear to keep you and Kent safe from the people who tried to murder me. Please… you can’t tell anyone about this,” she pleaded from the bottom of her heart.

The old man let out a watery smile, wiping his eyes with his sleeve. “I am just so happy you’re alive, Miss Denny Ann. But… Sir Kent needs to know this! It will bring him so much joy!”

Denny Ann shook her head frantically. “Mang Bert, no. Like I said, I have to keep this hidden to protect Kent and my family. There is a powerful syndicate hunting me down. Please, Mang Bert… let this be our secret.”

Mang Bert looked at her, his eyes filled with fatherly devotion. He nodded gently. “Of course, Miss Denny… I mean, Miss Kayla. Your secret is safe with me. Have you forgotten? I was the one who lied to your parents back then whenever you and Sir Kent went out on secret dates! I give you my word.”

A genuine, nostalgic smile flickered across Denny Ann’s lips. “I remember, Mang Bert. You’ve always been like a father to me. But right now, I need to rendezvous with David—our mission is falling apart. Please look after Kent for me.”

Mang Bert’s eyes went wide. “Wait… Sir David is alive, too?!”

“Yes! I’ll explain everything once I get back!” Denny Ann promised. With a quick double-tap on her smartwatch, a blinding flash of light enveloped her frame, and she vanished into thin air right before the butler’s eyes.

A few seconds later, Kent pushed open the door, looking around the empty room.

“Where’s Kayla? Is she still here, Mang Bert?” Kent asked, staring at the neatly made, vacant bed.

Mang Bert instantly smoothed down his uniform. “Ah, Sir Kent! Miss Kayla had to leave early this morning due to an urgent family emergency. But don’t worry, I managed to note down her cab’s license plate as she left!”

“Is that so? Thanks, Mang Bert,” Kent said softly, scanning the quiet room with a strange sense of longing.

The Ruby Mission

Within minutes, Denny Ann materialized inside her covert city apartment.

“I’ll be at your coordinates in five minutes. Broadcast your signal so I can lock onto your positions,” Denny Ann instructed through her tactical earpiece as she rapidly shed her civilian clothes for her form-fitting MIB tactical suit.

“Copy that, Agent Violet!” David’s voice echoed over the encrypted comms channel.

Deep within the wilderness, David (still operating under the spatial hologram of ‘Violet’), Marie, and Christian advanced cautiously toward the cavern entrance.

“Give me an update on our coordinates, Marie. How close are we?” David asked, stepping carefully through the dense foliage.

Marie tapped her wrist unit. “We’re right on top of it, Violet. Just a few meters out.”

David tapped his earpiece. “Status report, Christian?”

Christian manipulated his hand-held control device. “My micro-drones are sweeping the perimeter. The area is secure, but there are zero bio-signatures matching Shairmaine.”

“Understood. David will be back on site shortly. We move in and finish this in five minutes,” David stated, expertly pitching his voice into ‘Violet’s’ exact register.

“Copy, Violet!” they responded in unison.

Meanwhile, at the Sanchez Estate…

Mid-morning light flooded the grand foyer as a sleek luxury sports car screeched to a halt outside. The sharp, rhythmic clicking of high heels echoed against the polished marble as Kent’s younger sister strutted inside.

“What are you doing here, Helena Grasya?” Kent asked, raising an eyebrow at his younger sister from the couch.

The young woman pouted dramatically, tossing her styled hair. “Stop calling me that, Kuya! It’s Helen Grace ! Whatever… I came here to show you this.” She whipped out her phone and tapped the screen.

A viral video began playing on social media.

Kent leaned in, his brows knitting together. “Wait… she looks familiar…”

“Beyond familiar! That’s literally your new personal assistant—Kayla!” Helen Grace declared, holding the screen higher to display ‘Kayla’ performing a breathtaking vocal set at the lounge.

“Right… that was the night we met at the bar,” Kent muttered, remembering the chaotic incident.

“Well, your assistant is officially going viral! A couple of Hollywood artists even shared it—they’re obsessing over her vocals!” Helen Grace smiled warmly. She shot her brother a curious look. “By the way… is her real name Kayla or Ann Marie?”

Kent reached for his coffee cup. “Her name is Kayla Mendoza. The lounge owner gave her the stage moniker ‘Ann Marie.’ Kayla already explained the whole thing to me.”

Just then, Mang Bert passed by with a feather duster, catching a glimpse of the video on the phone screen.

“Isn’t that Miss Denny—I mean, Miss Kayla, Sir?” the butler blurted out, almost tripping over his own tongue.

“Yes, Mang Bert. Kuya’s assistant is famous now thanks to her lovely singing voice,” Helen Grace answered cheerfully.

Kent took a slow sip of his coffee, shaking his head. “She shares a striking resemblance with Denny Ann… but her personality is completely different. Anyway, I need to head to the office. I have work to attend to.”

Helen Grace put her hands on her hips. “Did you lose your mind? The entire corporate staff is on a mandatory company holiday today! The building is completely empty!”

“I didn’t forget!” Kent snapped playfully, trying to divert the subject. “Helena Grasya, drop the English—we’re in the Philippines.”

Helen Grace rolled her eyes with a dramatic sigh. “Fine! Speaking of the Philippines… Kuya Derek is flying back from overseas next week!”

Kent froze mid-step, his expression instantly darkening. “What? What is he coming back here for?”

“Who knows?” she replied with a simple shrug.

Inside the Cavern

The moment David, Marie, and Christian breached the threshold of the subterranean cavern, a sudden, unnatural chill swept over their skin.

“Did you feel that, Violet? The air temperature just plummeted!” Marie whispered as thick ground fog swirled around their boots.

“Yeah… stay sharp,” David replied.

Suddenly, his tactical watch vibrated—a localized signal indicating that the real Denny Ann had arrived on site.

“Hold on, guys. I need to contact Miss Ced to request additional tactical loadouts!” David claimed, quickly stepping behind a massive stalagmite.

The moment he was out of sight, a brief shimmer of light wrapped around his frame. Denny Ann stood waiting, fully geared in her MIB suit.

“Finally! You took your sweet time!” David whispered, quickly unclipping the bio-neural microchip from his neck. In an instant, his cellular structure snapped back into his natural male form.

Denny Ann adjusted her tactical holster. “What on earth happened out here? Why did Shairmaine wander off alone?”

“I’ll fill you in while we breach the inner chamber. And you are going to tell me every single detail about your little sleepover with your baby Kent!” David teased with a sly wink.

Before Denny Ann could reply, Christian’s voice called out from the entrance corridor.

“Violet? Are you back there?”

“Yeah!” David shouted back instinctively in his deep, natural voice.

Denny Ann immediately pinched his side hard! “Your voice is back to normal, you idiot! Let me handle it!” she hissed.

Christian popped his head around the rock formation. “David? Bro, when did you get here?”

David cleared his throat rapidly. “Oh, hey man! Violet just picked me up outside—my jetpack had a rough landing calibration.”

“Hello!” David offered with an awkward, innocent wave.

“OMG! You’re back, baby!” Marie squealed, throwing her arms around David’s neck in a tight hug.

“I… can’t… breathe…” David wheezed, gently pushing her back.

Denny Ann stepped to the front of the group, her face settling into a cool, professional resolve. “Alright, team—let’s recover the Ruby and secure Shairmaine.”

As they began their descent into the dark tunnels, Christian stepped beside Denny Ann, casually draping an arm over her shoulder. Denny Ann reached up, gently taking his hand and placing it back by his side.

“Let’s keep our minds on the mission, Chris… if you don’t mind?” she offered with a polite, firm smile.

Christian blinked, a flicker of confusion crossing his eyes, but he nodded. “Right. Of course.”

They breached the main inner sanctuary.

In the cavern’s depths, bathed in eerie crimson shadows, four tribal guardians stood surrounding an ancient stone altar. Nearby, Shairmaine was chained to the cavern wall, bruised and helpless.

“We must offer her life to the stone!” the tribal priestess declared, raising a ceremonial dagger. “Her blood will awaken its ultimate potential! With her death, the thirteen souls required for the grand awakening will finally be complete!”

The guardian holding the Ruby nodded solemnly. “Proceed, High Priestess. You are the only one who commands the sacred rituals of our ancestors.”

The priestess signaled a warrior holding a serrated spear. The warrior raised the blade, aiming it directly at Shairmaine’s chest!

Suddenly, Denny Ann burst into the chamber, running at full speed!

“Stop right there, you crazy people! Why does everything have to involve murder?!” she screamed, her voice echoing off the vaulted stone ceiling.

The entire chamber went dead silent. The team froze, staring at her in sheer bewilderment.

“Violet???” they blurted out in unison, looking back and forth between her and David.

Denny Ann instantly slapped a hand over her mouth. “Uh… what?”

David dragged a hand down his face. “This was not the plan…”

“What even was the plan?!” Denny Ann whispered frantically.

Marie narrowed her eyes in utter confusion. “Wait… Violet, didn’t you draft the entry strategy five minutes ago?”

Denny Ann scratched her head, offering a sheepish grin. “Hehe… right! Sorry, my bad!”

She immediately pivoted, pointing a finger at the captors. “Hey! Release her this instant!” she yelled, charging headfirst toward the guardians.

Panicked by the sudden assault, the male guardian threw the glowing Ruby into his mouth and swallowed it whole!

Instantly, a violent shockwave rattled the cavern floor. The man’s body mutated rapidly—his spine expanded, razor-sharp scales erupted across his flesh, and he transformed into a towering, ferocious reptilian beast!

“Chris! Energy Shield!” David shouted.

Christian slammed the activator on his tactical gloves, projecting a translucent energy barrier around them. Meanwhile, Marie activated her Speed Boots, blurring across the stone floor toward the wall where Shairmaine was chained.

While Denny Ann engaged the towering beast, Christian and David drew their sidearms to fend off the three remaining warriors armed with spears and bows.

“Don’t you guys know it’s bad manners to steal things that don’t belong to you?!” David yelled, dodging a spear thrust and trading blows with the priestess.

“The relic belongs to the land!” she shrieked.

Out of David’s line of sight, a high-velocity arrow came tearing through the shadows straight toward his head! In a split-second reflex, Christian reached out, catching the wooden shaft bare-handed inches from David’s face!

Christian let out a breath, tossing the arrow aside. “Watch your back, bro!”

David stared at him, his cheeks flushing a faint pink. “Th-Thanks…”

Christian turned back to the fight. “This isn’t fair—it’s three against two!”

On the other side of the chamber, Marie whipped out a high-frequency laser cutter, slicing through Shairmaine’s heavy iron chains.

“You owe me big time for this!” Marie grunted, giving Shairmaine a light slap on the cheek to snap her out of her shock. “If you ever get kidnapped again after being this rude… I am leaving you behind!”

Shairmaine’s eyes flared with anger. “How dare you!” Yet, despite her pride, she scrambled to her feet and rushed over to reinforce David and Christian.

Marie faced the remaining two guardians, pulling a sleek, lip-gloss-shaped gadget from her belt.

“Lipstick Laser—Activate!” Marie cheered, firing a high-intensity pink beam that shattered the enemy’s weapons!

David and Christian deployed their specialized gear provided by Ced. David hurled a high-tech basketball that discharged a massive electrical shockwave upon impact, while Christian swung a heavy kinetic hammer that sent physical shockwaves rippling through the dirt floor.

“Team Violet—let’s end this!” Denny Ann called out, wrestling with the mutated reptilian beast.

Her smartwatch illuminated, its AI voice chiming in:

“Team Violet Authorized. Select combat enhancement.”

A holographic menu of tactical suits floated above her wrist. Denny Ann rapidly tapped an icon displaying a cloaking suit.

“Active Camouflage Suit—Engaged.”

In a fraction of a second, Denny Ann’s form vanished entirely from plain sight.

The giant beast blinked, roaring in frustration as it swung its massive claws at empty air. Unbeknownst to the creature, Denny Ann was already standing directly behind it.

Utilizing her suit’s advanced molecular phase-shift technology, Denny Ann reached her hand straight through the beast’s back into its stomach cavity—completely bypassing its organic tissue without causing lethal harm. Her fingers closed around the warm, glowing gemstone, and she smoothly extracted it!

“I don’t need to kill you to take this back!” Denny Ann stated, stepping back into visibility with the brilliant crimson Ruby resting in her palm.

Stripped of its power source, the creature let out a low groan as its scales retracted. It shrank back into a human form, collapsing onto the damp cavern floor, gasping for air.

The villager clutched his stomach, looking up in sheer confusion. “What… what did you do to me?”

Denny Ann held up the glowing gemstone, flashing a playful wink. “Looking for this? Secret!”

Just then, the elderly village chief alongside a dozen armed tribal elders flooded into the cavern, taking in the chaotic scene.

“What is the meaning of this?!” the chief demanded, his voice echoing through the chamber.

Marie stepped forward immediately, using her knowledge of the local dialect to explain the high priestess’s betrayal and the true motives behind their mission.

In the City…

As the field operation concluded, Kent stood inside a dimly lit private office opposite a man clad in a dark leather jacket.

“Inspector… do you have any updates regarding my fiancée’s case? Or even a single lead on David’s disappearance?” Kent asked, his voice laced with desperate hope.

The investigator’s face remained stone-cold. “Sir… we found something. Follow me.”

The man led Kent toward a massive wall covered in case files, connected photographs, and complex organizational charts.

MIB Main Headquarters

Light poured over the grand ceremonial hall of the MIB Headquarters.

Lined up in full formation stood Team Violet —Denny Ann, David, Christian, Marie, and Shairmaine—each dressed in crisp, formal MIB dress uniforms.

Standing before them at the podium was Miss Rita, accompanied by top-ranking Bureau officials, preparing to bestow high honors upon the team for the successful recovery of the ancient Ruby.

EPISODE X: ONLINE TROUBLE (PART I)

At an Exclusive Private Restaurant…

Inside a dimly lit, high-end private dining room, the group was enjoying a rare moment of peace.

“In fairness… I really missed eating like a normal human being!” Marie chimed in with a wide smile, setting her cutlery down on the porcelain plate.

Christian rested his elbows on the table, leaning in slightly toward their leader. “So, anyway… do we have any new directives lined up, Violet?”

“As of now, nothing on the radar,” Denny Ann replied softly. She took a slow bite of her burger before giving a subtle shrug. “Which means we finally get to enjoy some much-needed beauty rest, guys.”

While chewing, Denny Ann caught sight of David off to the side. He was staring intensely at his phone screen, a highly suspicious, secretive grin playing across his lips. Denny Ann’s brows knit together.

“What’s with that weird look on your face?” she asked, narrowing her eyes.

“Huh? Oh, nothing… it’s nothing,” David stammered quickly, though his eyes remained glued to the glowing screen. “Just… reading some funny stuff online.”

“Let me see that!”

Before David could react or hide the device, Denny Ann snatched the phone straight out of his hand. But the moment her eyes swept across the screen, her playful expression vanished, instantly replaced by sheer, cold panic.

“David… who posted this?! “

“Hey! Since when do you go around invading people’s privacy?!” David snapped, hastily grabbing his phone back, caught off guard by her intense reaction. “Give that back!”

Across the table, Marie was scrolling through her own device when her eyes widened. “Wait… wow, this girl is actually incredible!” she exclaimed, pointing her fingernail at the screen.

“Why? Another viral video?” Christian asked casually, leaning back in his chair.

Marie read the caption aloud with flair. “Listen to this… ‘Ann Marie Cervantes stuns the crowd with hits by Debbie Gibson. International recording artists left speechless by her performance!’”

The second those words echoed in the air, Denny Ann and David locked eyes in dead silence. The room’s ambient temperature seemed to plummet as cold panic surged between them.

“Let me see!” Denny Ann blurted out, stepping closer to Marie, her voice tight with suppressed anxiety.

“Sure, check it out!” Marie handed over the phone, adding with a giggle, “Funny we share the same middle name, right? I guess anyone with ‘Marie’ in their name is just automatically born to sing!”

“Not even close,” Christian teased, rolling his eyes.

While those two continued their playful bickering, Denny Ann felt a cold sweat breaking out across her palm. Her hands trembled slightly as she stared down at the crisp HD video of her own face performing on stage.

David let out a sharp, exaggerated cough to break the heavy tension. “Violet… remember? Miss Rita explicitly requested your presence at the office.”

It felt as though a massive weight had been lifted off Denny Ann’s chest. She stood up immediately. “Right! Ah… I should head out first then. Marie, Christian, I’ll see you back at the base.”

“Hold up, I’m coming with you, Violet,” David chimed in, scrambling to his feet. “I need Miss Ced to run a diagnostic on my loadout anyway.”

At a Secret Intelligence Facility…

In a dimly lit, heavily secured room elsewhere in the city, Kent sat across from a private investigator he had hired.

“Take a close look at this, Sir,” the investigator instructed, sliding his laptop across the mahogany desk toward Kent. “This is raw security feed from the mall.”

The video displayed two women entering a high-end clothing boutique. Minutes later, the camera caught them walking out toward the service elevator.

Kent’s eyes narrowed into slits as he stared at the screen. “Is that… Denny Ann? But… who is the woman walking alongside her?”

“That’s precisely what we’re trying to determine, Sir,” the investigator replied, his tone grim. “Does that woman look familiar to you at all?”

Kent slowly shook his head. “No. I’ve never seen her before in my life.”

The investigator leaned back into his leather chair, letting out a heavy sigh. “Sir… my instinct tells me this is the exact same woman who abducted your fiancée right before her declared death. The security guard stationed near the underground parking confirmed seeing a woman matching this description loading what appeared to be a body into a white, unmarked van. And right before that happened, Sir… a muffled gunshot was logged on the ground level.”

Kent’s hands slammed onto the desk, his knuckles turning white. “Have you located her yet?” he asked, pointing directly at the shadowy figure in the video frame.

“Not yet, Sir. We’re running facial recognition across all active databases. The second a solid ping hits, you’ll be the first to know.”

MIB Main Headquarters…

Back at headquarters, David and Denny Ann walked at a frantic pace down the sterile hallway toward their private quarters.

“You are in deep trouble!” David hissed under his breath, his face pale with anxiety. “What happens if Miss Rita realizes that’s you belting out pop songs on social media?!”

Denny Ann stopped in her tracks, pressing her palms against her temples as panic set in. “Will you stop pacing?! I’m trying to manufacture a solid cover story here!”

“And what were you thinking joining a dating app in the first place?!” David pointed a finger accusingly. “And to make matters worse, you used your actual face! What if someone from the upper circles recognizes you? Hello?! You’ve been officially dead for eight years!”

Denny Ann slumped her shoulders, letting out a defeated groan. “I know… we are so screwed.”

BOOM!

The heavy reinforced door slammed open. Miss Rita stood in the doorway holding a thick Manila folder, her face twisted in absolute fury.

“What on earth is the meaning of this, Denny Ann?!” Rita’s authoritative voice thundered down the corridor. She slammed the folder onto the nearby table with a deafening crack. “Why is ‘Ann Marie Cervantes’ currently trending globally?! Are you entirely devoid of common sense?! What if our enemies put two and two together?! What if the syndicate traces your location back to this base?! You are being reckless!”

“Miss Rita… please, let me explain!” Denny Ann pleaded, raising her hands defenselessly as she rapidly tried to recount how the performance was caught on camera.

Back at the Restaurant…

Meanwhile, left behind at the dining table, Christian remained glued to the phone screen Marie had left on the table.

“Does she… look familiar to you at all?” Christian muttered quietly.

Marie frowned, popping another french fry into her mouth. “Huh? What do you mean?”

“She looks like someone we know… haven’t you noticed?” Christian replied, his voice entirely serious.

Marie turned to him, a sly, playful grin spreading across her lips. “Why? Do we look alike? Are you saying she’s as stunning as I am?”

“No!” Christian shot back instantly. “She looks like… Violet.”

“Let me see that!” Marie snatched her phone back, holding the screen inches from her face. After a few silent seconds, she rolled her eyes dramatically. “Ugh, please! Not even close! Is this what happens when you’re head-over-heels in love? You think about Violet so much that you start seeing her face on random internet celebrities! My friend always says when a guy is completely smitten, every single woman he looks at starts morphing into his crush. Seriously, take a breather… you’re hallucinating!”

Christian’s shoulders drooped as he let out a long, weary sigh. “Maybe you’re right… I’ve been pursuing Violet for months now, and she still hasn’t given me a straight answer.”

Marie adjusted her hair, taking a quick selfie using her front camera. “Well, that’s just how we women operate. It’s not about playing hard to get—we just need to evaluate if a guy is actually worth the investment. As the old saying goes: A man in a rush is just a metered taxi running up a high fare. “

Christian stared at her in utter disbelief, half-amused by her bizarre logic. “Is that… actually a saying?”

At the Sanchez Group of Companies Headquarters…

Inside a sprawling, ultra-modern executive suite on the top floor of the corporate tower…

“Hello, dear brother! How have you been? Did you miss me?”

A tall man clad in a rugged black leather jacket and distressed denim strode into the room without bothering to knock. He carried an arrogant, menacing posture, an insufferable smirk plastered across his face.

Kent didn’t even bother lifting his eyes from his laptop screen. “Derek? What are you doing here?” he asked, his voice icy cold.

“Ouch… not even a warm welcome for your own blood?” Derek sneered, taking slow, deliberate steps toward Kent’s grand desk.

“No,” Kent replied flatly, his tone emotionless. “State your business.”

Derek’s grin widened, his eyes gleaming with ambition. “I’m here to inform you… Dad officially instructed me to step in and oversee corporate operations. And guess what?”

Kent slammed the laptop lid shut, his gaze locking onto his brother with lethal intensity. “What?”

“We are officially Co-CEOs of the Sanchez Group of Companies!” Derek announced triumphantly, spreading his arms wide. “Which means… you and I are going to be working side-by-side! Isn’t that wonderful news?”

Not a single trace of warmth appeared on Kent’s face. “I couldn’t care less. First thing tomorrow, I’ll have my assistant set up your office space on a separate floor. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have matters to attend to,” Kent stated coldly, standing up from his leather swivel chair.

As Kent moved toward the door, Derek stepped directly into his path, grabbing his arm with a firm grip. “Oh, by the way… I heard your new personal assistant is quite the stunner. And she’s currently a viral sensation, isn’t she? Did I get that right?”

Kent forcefully shoved his brother’s hand away. “Keep your hands off me! I am exhausted today… do not push your luck with me, Derek.”

Right on cue, the frosted glass doors opened, and their younger sister, Helen Grace, burst into the room.

“Kuya Derek! Welcome home!” Helen Grace cheered, sprinting across the floor to throw her arms around Derek in a tight embrace.

As Kent continued walking away, Derek called out with a sneer, “Hey, Kent! Don’t you dare turn your back on me while I’m still speaking to you!”

“Stop it, both of you!” Helen Grace interjected loudly, stepping directly between the rising heat of her two older brothers.

Back at MIB Headquarters…

“…And that is precisely how it happened. I genuinely had no idea the video would explode online like this, Miss Rita,” Denny Ann finished softly, her head bowed in genuine remorse.

Rita rubbed her temples slowly, attempting to soothe an oncoming headache before looking up at Denny Ann.

“Fine… I have a strategic contingency,” Rita began, leaning against the desk. “Are you familiar with the classic narrative of Hannah Montana ?”

Denny Ann and David exchanged a bewildered glance. “The… pop star?”

“Precisely! She concealed her true identity so she could lead a relatively normal life off stage while managing her superstar persona. We apply the exact same framework to you—you maintain a dual identity. Hannah is the singer, and the other one… wait, what was the civilian’s name again?” Rita suddenly paused, bursting into a light laugh at her own pop-culture lapse. “Anyway! That is our operational strategy… which, ironically, is what we’ve already been doing this whole time. Goodness gracious, never mind!”

EPISODE XI: ONLINE TROUBLE (PART II)

PREVIOUSLY

Rita was deeply unsettled by the sudden turn of events after Denny Ann’s singing video went viral across the internet. Meanwhile, what new chaos and interference will Kent’s newly arrived brother bring into the protagonist’s life?

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

“As we all know, Miss Rita… Ann Marie is currently trending all over the internet. There is no stopping the spread of that clip,” David stated grimly, his eyes fixed on the illuminated monitor.

Rita let out a heavy, weary sigh. “I am well aware, David. But at the very least, we can still contain the fallout. Here!”

The senior official reached into her drawer and produced a sleek, compact device resembling a miniature hair dryer, sliding it across the glass table.

Denny Ann’s brows knit together as she carefully inspected the strange gadget. “What exactly is this supposed to do?”

Rita pushed her glasses up her nose, standing up to explain the technical specifications. “That is the Memory Erase 3.8. It has been programmed to wipe any localized recognition of you two from the minds of whoever sees it. Yes, you heard me correctly—this contingency applies to both of you.”

Inside a Cold, Secret Chamber…

“Madam… your son has arrived,” a henchman reported from the threshold.

“Show him in,” a cold voice commanded from the shadows.

The heavy steel door swung open, revealing a tall young man clad in a sleek, polished leather jacket.

“Mom? How are you holding up?” he greeted gently, stepping forward to pull his mother into a tight embrace.

“I am fine, my son,” Madam Emerald replied softly, running a hand down his back. “I am glad you came to visit. Tell me… have you seen your siblings yet?”

“Yes. Nothing has changed with them,” the young man replied dismissively. His face darkened as his voice dropped an octave. “More importantly… do you have any new updates on the female witness?”

“No. She is still alive,” Madam Emerald admitted, averting her eyes as her fingers clutched a brilliant diamond necklace resting against her chest. “We confirmed she utilized an MIB cloaking chip to disorient my operatives and escape.”

The young man’s eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. He took a heavy step toward the mahogany desk where a single photograph was laid out.

“Mommy… let me handle this,” he growled, his gaze locking onto Denny Ann’s face in the portrait. “I will personally eliminate this girl!”

Madam Emerald took a deep breath, taking her son’s hand into hers. “Just be careful, my son. She is under MIB protection now. We must retrieve Agent Blue’s watch at all costs! That watch is the only key to uncovering the monsters who murdered your father and burned down our estate… Those heartless bastards!” Tears finally welled up and spilled over her cheeks.

Before the moment could linger, another operative rushed through the doorway. “Madam Emerald, we have a minor situation.”

“What is it now, Julio?!” she snapped in frustration, wiping her tears away.

The young man turned back toward his mother, his eyes burning with absolute malice. “Mom, leave the witness to me. I will avenge Dad’s death myself.”

The matriarch sighed deeply. “Alright… do whatever you must, but keep yourself safe!” she instructed before exiting the room alongside her operative.

Left alone in the pitch-black room, the young man stared down at Denny Ann’s photo.

“Get ready, Denny Ann… You might have managed to fool my mother’s foot soldiers, but you won’t fool me. I will personally end your life and bring down the entire MIB!”

In a fit of unbridled rage, he slammed his fist straight into the solid concrete wall, cracking the plaster.

Back at MIB Headquarters…

“Denny Ann, you need to exercise extreme caution moving forward—especially whenever you assume the identity of Ann Marie Cervantes,” Rita instructed sternly. “We cannot afford anyone connecting your face to your past. Act normal… leave the cover documentation to me!”

Suddenly, the side door clicked open, and someone stepped into the room.

“I’ll be taking on the role of Ann Marie’s mother… so don’t worry about a thing, Rita!” a familiar voice announced from behind them.

Denny Ann whipped around, gasping in utter shock. “Miss Helen?! What are you doing here?”

“Hello, dear!” Helen greeted brightly, offering a warm, motherly smile.

Rita turned back to Denny Ann. “Denny Ann… meet Agent Helen Dela Rosa—otherwise known in the field as Agent Yellow .”

Helen stepped forward, taking Denny Ann’s hands into her own. “I hope you aren’t upset with Rita and me, Ann. We are doing this strictly to keep you safe from the syndicate targeting you.”

Denny Ann nodded slowly, though a troubling thought crossed her mind. “I understand… but what about the Sanchezes? Are they affiliated with this organization in any way?”

“No. One hundred percent no ,” Helen answered immediately, shaking her head. “We don’t even have an operative planted inside their corporation. That is precisely why you need to be twice as careful over there, Denny Ann.”

Before she could respond, Denny Ann’s phone vibrated loudly, its ringtone echoing through the office.

“Who’s calling?” Rita asked, raising an eyebrow.

Denny Ann glanced down at the screen. “It’s Mr. Kent Sanchez…”

“Oh, I almost forgot!” Helen chuckled softly. “Rita, she’s currently working as Kent Sanchez’s personal assistant. Don’t worry, I know Kent—he’s completely harmless! Aside from being a wildly attractive CEO… he’s harmless, I promise.”

Rita rolled her eyes dramatically. “Whatever, Helen. As long as Denny Ann’s true identity remains under wraps, the better. It is still not safe for her to be out in the open.”

“I give you my word!” Helen patted Denny Ann’s shoulder gently. “Go ahead, dear—answer the call!”

Denny Ann quickly swiped the screen. “Hello, Mr. Sanchez?”

At the Sanchez Group of Companies Headquarters…

Inside a sprawling executive corner office, Kent was leaning back in his leather swivel chair, holding the receiver tightly against his ear.

“Kayla! Where on earth are you?!” he demanded, his voice brimming with irritation.

“Good morning, Sir! I’m still at my residence… is everything alright?” Denny Ann replied over the line.

Kent stood up from his chair in a flash. “You are my assistant! Why aren’t you at your desk yet?! I need my complete schedule for today’s board meetings immediately. Get over here right now!”

“Understood, Sir… I’m just finishing getting dressed.”

“Good Lord! Hurry it up!” Kent snapped, slamming the phone back onto its base.

His younger sister, Helen Grace, sitting on the plush lounge sofa, let out a soft sigh. “Kuya, are you okay?”

“No! She was supposed to be here an hour ago! ‘Getting dressed’… what am I supposed to do, adjust my entire schedule around her ?!” Kent paced back and forth across the floor, venting his frustration.

Helen Grace let out a light laugh. “Calm down, Kuya. We girls take time to prepare. Besides, Kayla probably knows her performance went viral online, so she’s probably just embarrassed to show her face. Just give her a few minutes—I’m sure she’s on her way!”

Kent pinched the bridge of his nose in exhaustion. “Anyway… where is Derek? I thought he was supposed to report in today?”

Right on cue, the frosted glass doors swung open.

“Looking for me?” Derek asked smoothly, strolling into the room with his hands tucked into his pockets.

“Hi, Kuya Derek! Welcome back!” Helen Grace cheered, jumping up to give her brother a tight hug.

“Good to see you, Helen,” Derek replied with a grin. He scanned the layout of the room before raising an eyebrow. “Wait… is there a board meeting happening? Why are you two hanging out in my office?”

Kent’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Excuse me?! Your office?! This is MY office!”

A mocking smirk spread across Derek’s lips. “Is that so? Why don’t you take a close look at the nameplate on the main desk?”

Kent marched over to his desk and glared down at the newly installed acrylic plate. In a split second, his face flushed with burning rage.

“What?! How is this possible?!” Kent shouted, his temper flaring. “Pick this up and get out of my room! Find yourself another floor!”

“Dad already gave his explicit approval for me to take over this suite,” Derek replied nonchalantly, pointing a lazy finger toward the exit. “As for you… you can set up your new workspace elsewhere in the building. Oh, and your personal belongings have already been neatly packed into those boxes over there.”

Kent stood frozen, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white. “The nerve of you freeloaders… unbelievable!” he spat, grabbing the cardboard box containing his desk items.

“FYI, bro… you’re my half-brother,” Derek taunted, his eyes locking onto Kent’s. “We might not share the same blood, but we’re brothers on paper!”

Helen Grace stepped between them, her smile completely gone. “Kuya Derek! Why are you treating Kuya Kent like this?!”

Derek turned to his sister, raising his hands in mock defense. “Sis, Dad explicitly instructed me to supervise Kent and assist him with corporate operations. If he has an issue with Dad’s arrangement, that’s his problem, not mine.”

“Whatever, Derek! You will regret this!” Kent warned, his voice dropping into a lethal whisper before he slammed the heavy door behind him, carrying his box down the hall.

Derek glanced briefly at the door before looking back at Helen Grace. “Relax, Helen… his new office is just down the corridor. Right next to yours.”

Helen Grace glared at him in utter disappointment, turning on her heel and leaving the room without saying another word.

Minutes Later…

Denny Ann rushed through the heavy doors, breathing heavily from running up the stairs.

“Kent? Did you forget something?” Derek asked smoothly without looking up from the documents spread across the desk.

“I am so sorry, Mr. Sanchez! I got caught in heavy traffic…” Denny Ann wheezed, catching her breath.

When she finally raised her head, she froze—realizing the man sitting behind the grand desk was not Kent!

Derek slowly lifted his gaze, scanning Denny Ann from head to toe with an intense, calculating look. “You must be my brother’s assistant… Kayla Mendoza, correct?”

“Y-Yes, Sir… Wait, where is Sir Kent?” Denny Ann asked, taking a subtle step back toward the door.

“He was relocated to Room 3, right next to Helen Grace’s office,” Derek answered, a strange, lingering smile playing on his lips.

“I see… excuse me, I’ll go find him right away. Thank you, Sir,” she offered with a quick bow, turning to leave.

“Hold on!” Derek called out, leaning forward. “I am also the presiding CEO here. I’m hiring you as my personal assistant starting today.”

Just then, the door swung open as Kent stepped back inside—catching the tail end of his brother’s proposition.

“No way in hell! She is MY assistant! Get your own!” Kent shouted, rushing forward to grab Denny Ann’s arm, pulling her firmly behind his back away from Derek.

Derek’s smirk widened as he watched Kent’s defensive reaction. “I like her. How much are you paying this girl? I can easily double it… triple it… or even quadruple her salary right now.”

“No! She stays with me, and nobody hires her—especially YOU !” Kent roared, his eyes blazing with fury as he pulled Denny Ann out into the hallway. “Let’s go, Kayla!”

Derek remained standing in the center of the grand office, watching the pair disappear down the corridor.

“Still as immature as ever, Kent…” he whispered to himself, a cold, mocking grin spreading across his face.

EPISODE XII: THE TRUTH BEHIND ON THIS NECKLACE

PREVIOUSLY

Denny Ann came face-to-face with Derek, sparking an immediate, volatile clash. “She’s my assistant and no one can hire or own her. She’s mine!” Kent declared fiercely, dragging Denny Ann straight out of his brother’s office.

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

“I’m so sorry I was late, Sir,” Denny Ann apologized, catch her breath as she hurried to keep pace with Kent’s rapid stride down the corridor. “Thankfully, I managed to book a Grab right away.”

Kent slowed his pace, turning around slowly to face her. “It’s fine. By the way… that guy back there is my brother, Derek. Just… don’t take his attitude to heart.”

Denny Ann offered a warm smile, flipping open her small leather notebook to review his schedule. “Sir, you have a 10:00 AM appointment today with Mrs. Dela Cruz regarding your proposal for their firm.”

She noticed that instead of nodding, Kent remained completely motionless, staring at her with an unreadable, intense expression.

Feeling his gaze, Denny Ann touched her own cheek nervously. “Yes, Sir? Is there something on my face… or is my foundation too thick today?” she joked lightly.

“No,” Kent replied softly, his eyes refusing to break contact. “You really look identical to Denny Ann. Are you absolutely certain you didn’t suffer from amnesia? And then Helen found you and raised you as her own daughter… is that what happened?”

Denny Ann let out a soft laugh, playfully tapping his shoulder. “Not at all, Sir! Goodness, you’ve been watching way too many primetime telenovelas!”

Inside Rita’s Private Office…

“Miss Rita, this report just came in from the National Statistics Office. Someone is actively running a background check on Agent Violet… specifically under her alias, Kayla Mendoza,” a male MIB operative reported gravely.

Rita’s brows furrowed. “Who ordered it?”

“It traces directly back to the Sanchez Group of Companies. They are digging through Kayla Mendoza’s entire recorded history,” the operative answered.

A dangerous shadow fell across Rita’s eyes. “I will handle this personally. Keep this discovery strictly between us—do not let a single word reach the MIB Board of Members. I have a strong suspicion there is a mole operating within this institution. And when I catch them… I will execute them myself, for my sister’s justice and Denny Ann’s freedom.”

Before the conversation could continue, the door swung open as Ced stepped into the room.

“Ate?” Ced stopped short, surprised to see the operative present.

“Ah, Cedrick.” Rita stood up, dismissing the operative with a subtle nod.

Ced turned to the senior official once the door clicked shut. “Where is Denny Ann, Rita? She has a mandatory combat evaluation with Mr. Rodriguez today, and the instructor is already waiting in the training bay.”

Rita scoffed coldly. “What for? Denny Ann is more than capable in field combat. Are her operational records not enough to prove that?”

“Remember, Rita, Mr. Rodriguez is one of our primary Persons Under Investigation regarding your sister’s murder,” Ced reminded her sternly. He walked over to the desk, placing a thick blue dossier onto the glass surface. “Furthermore… you need to read this.”

“What is this?” Rita asked, opening the file.

“Inscribed in those files is the tactical codename of the assassin who targeted your sister. Though, I am not entirely certain if this individual operates alone,” Ced explained.

Rita’s eyes traced the bold lettering stamped on the document:

CODE NAME: NAJILIA

Head of the Anchor Syndicate

“Najilia?” Rita whispered, resting her palm against her temple. “Wait… I recall hearing that codename mentioned years ago…”

In the Adjacent Quarters…

Meanwhile, in the quarter’s mirror, David stood admiring his reflection with a faint chuckle.

“Christian is going to punch me straight in the jaw if he ever discovers I’m the one occasionally stepping in as Violet,” David whispered to himself, chuckling softly.

He raised his hand, gently touching the pendant hanging around his neck. It was an octagon-shaped locket, bordered by intricate, shimmering diamonds.

“I wonder… where that kid is now?” he murmured, running a thumb over the cool metal surface.

FLASHBACK

David was only in Grade 6 when he first met the teenage boy who gave him the necklace.

One afternoon on his walk home from school, three notorious neighborhood bullies cornered him in a narrow alleyway.

“Where do you think you’re going, sissy?” the ringleader taunted, stepping into his path flanked by his two lackeys.

“Get out of my way!” David snapped back. “If you don’t have anything better to do with your lives, go home and help your mothers!”

Without warning, the ringleader shoved David hard, sending him falling onto the rough dirt ground.

“Well, look at you getting feisty!” the bully snickered as his friends laughed along.

David winced in frustration. He stood up immediately, brushing the dirt off his uniform. “Listen here… just because I act feminine doesn’t mean I don’t know how to throw a punch!”

In a flash, David pivoted and landed a sharp, solid punch straight across the bully’s face!

“Why, you little…!” the bully cursed, clutching his bleeding nose. “Grab him! We’re giving this kid a sound beating!”

The two lackeys pinned David’s arms behind his back while their leader delivered repeated strikes to his midsection—until David doubled over in agonizing pain.

“What now? Still feel like acting tough?” the bully sneered.

Despite the pain, David lifted his head, flashing a defiant, mocking smile. “Seriously? Is this the best you guys can do?”

The bully raised his fist to strike again, but before the blow could land, a strong hand clamped around his wrist like an iron vise!

“Let him go!” a firm, commanding voice shouted.

A tall 16-year-old high school boy stood over them, his gaze sharp and threatening.

“Mind your own business! Who the hell are you?!” the bully yelled.

One of the lackeys glanced at the newcomer and went pale. “D-Dude… that’s the high school principal’s son!”

“Yeah, man! He’s the top senior around here! Let’s get out of here!” the other added, backing away in fear.

Instead of backing down, the ringleader lost his temper. “LET ME GO! Don’t interfere! We’re teaching this freak a lesson!” he screamed, turning to throw another punch toward David.

“Dude, run!” the lackeys screamed, abandoning their leader and scrambling down the street.

The 16-year-old delivered a devastating punch straight to the bully’s face, sending him crashing onto the dirt before hoisting him up violently by his collar.

“Listen to me carefully!” the older boy growled into the terrified bully’s face. “Real men don’t lay a hand on women or effeminate kids! A REAL man shows respect!”

“Hey, hey, take it easy! Let him go!” David pleaded from the side, holding his bruised cheek.

The older boy shoved the bully to the ground.

“Look at you… crying like a baby,” the teenager mocked. “Turns out you’re the real coward here, not him!”

“You’re going to pay for this! Just wait… especially you, David!” the bully threatened, scrambling backward on his hands and knees.

“Go ahead, try touching him again!” the teenager shouted after him. “I won’t just give you a black eye next time—I’ll blacken your entire body!”

Once the bullies disappeared around the corner, the older boy turned toward David, his expression softening.

“Hey… you alright, kid?”

David smiled despite the visible bruise on his face. “Thanks for the hand. Those guys are idiots. I had them handled, honestly… they just outnumbered me.”

The older boy burst into laughter. “Of all the kids I’ve seen get beaten up, you’re the only one smiling through it!”

“That’s just how I am!” David replied, picking up his school bag. “By the way… I’m David. What’s your name?”

“Rek. R.E.K.,” the boy introduced smoothly.

“Rek? R.E.K.?” David repeated, mimicking his pronunciation. “Thanks, Rek!”

“You’re funny,” the boy smiled warmly. “I’d like to be friends with you. No weird motives, got it?”

“Sure! Your high school building is just across the quad. I can hang out there during recess… are you buying me snacks?” David teased.

“Deal!” Rek grinned. He unclasped a silver necklace from around his neck.

“What’s this?” David asked, staring at the glittering pendant.

“Give it back to me whenever we cross paths again… just to make sure we remember,” Rek said with a confident smile, handing the necklace over.

David giggled. “Goodness, you’re making me feel like a soap opera lead here!”

PRESENT DAY

“Wherever Rek is now… I bet he turned out ridiculously handsome,” David whispered to himself, trying to recall the older boy’s facial features.

BAM!

The door burst open as Denny Ann rushed into the room, her face pale with pure panic.

“David! I need you to step in as Kayla Mendoza right now!”

EPISODE XIII: DEREK AND DAVID (PART I)

PREVIOUSLY

While David stood in front of the mirror staring deeply at the necklace around his neck, Denny Ann suddenly burst into the room with an urgent plea: “I need you as Kayla Mendoza!”

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

“What?! Why?! What on earth is happening?” David asked in confusion, his eyes darting after his panicked friend.

“Miss Rita and Ced summoned me back to headquarters,” Denny Ann explained rapidly, her words spilling out in a rush. “I have mandatory physical combat training with the bosses—and guess what? It’s a full three-day lock-in! But don’t worry, I’ll slip away the moment an opportunity presents itself. For now, Kent has an incredibly high-stakes meeting with a major client, and you need to take down all the crucial details. You only have 30 minutes to prepare!”

“What?! You’re out of your mind, Denny Ann! Thirty minutes?! “ David shrieked, clutching his throat in absolute horror. “Right this second?! Good lord! I don’t know the first thing about being Kayla Mendoza! If it were Ann Marie, maybe I could pull it off, but Kayla?! “

“Bestie, good luck! I need to head back before they come looking for me. Hurry!” Denny Ann gasped, pressing a discreet button on her specialized watch. Within a fraction of a second, she vanished completely from the room.

“Unbelievable! She really just left me hanging!” David groaned, throwing his hands in the air.

Realizing he had no choice, he rushed over to his cabinet and pulled out a small, sealed container. From inside, he carefully retrieved a cutting-edge microchip.

“Kayla Mendoza is real. I guess I’m playing the sexy secretary again… Gross! Even if I am a gay guy, Kent has never been my type! I don’t get what she sees in him,” he muttered under his breath, carefully applying the chip to the side of his neck.

Taking a deep breath, he uttered the system prompt in a whisper:

“Denny Ann Nemenzo’s Identity… Activate.”

In front of the mirror, his entire physique began to morph. His hair lengthened and thickened first, followed by the subtle restructuring of his facial features and jawline. His frame and chest softened into delicate curves until, in the blink of an eye, the exact face and figure of his best friend Denny Ann stared back at him from the glass.

He cleared his throat to test the voice filter, which instantly shifted into a soft feminine pitch.

“30 minutes… Hello, Sir Kent! So-rry I’m late… Traffic was terrible and I couldn’t breathe! “ David rolled his eyes dramatically at his altered voice. “There, perfect.”

Outside the Executive Conference Room, Sanchez Headquarters…

“Where’s your assistant, Bro? The board meeting starts in two minutes,” Grey, Kent’s close friend and business partner, reminded him, glancing down at his watch. “You should probably head inside first.”

Kent checked his wrist. “Hold on, she’s here! Go ahead without me, Grey.”

“Alright, see you inside,” Grey nodded, stepping through the double doors.

David—now fully transformed into Kayla—hurried down the hallway, breathing heavily to sell the act.

“Kayla, where on earth have you been?” Kent greeted, striding over. “Did you bring my flash drive?”

“Flash drive?” David froze for a split second, then quickly rummaged through the leather tote bag. Right near the top, he spotted a sleek black thumb drive labeled ‘For Presentation’ . “Ah! Here it is, Sir!”

Kent’s brow furrowed slightly. “What did you just call me?”

“Sir? Is there a problem with that?” David asked, tilting his head in mild confusion.

Kent took a step closer, his tone softening. “I’ve told you countless times, Kayla… just call me by my first name when it’s just the two of us. We’re friends. But come on, we need to close this account today.”

“O-Okay… Kent!” David answered hastily, doing his absolute best to mirror Denny Ann’s subtle mannerisms.

Inside Rita’s Private Office…

“Denny Ann is officially deployed to the field for physical assessment,” Rita reported, her eyes scanning through the classified dossiers spread across her desk. “And regarding the background check on Kayla… did you brief Helen about it?”

“Yes, I spoke with Miss Helen yesterday,” Cedrick replied smoothly. “She assured me she would handle the press and any investigating reporters. Besides, the documentation we fabricated is airtight. Her cover identity won’t be compromised.”

“Good,” Rita stated grimly. “While Denny Ann is preoccupied with field training, we’ll have more breathing room to investigate every single operative within our ranks. I will not rest until justice is served for Georgina’s violent attack and disappearance.”

Cedrick’s eyes narrowed as he stared at Rita’s back. “Right… Let’s just hope you aren’t in on it with them,” he murmured under his breath.

A sharp chill flickered through Rita’s eyes as she slowly raised her head. “What did you say, Cedrick?”

“Nothing,” Cedrick recanted instantly, his face turning into a stone-cold mask. “I said, ‘Let’s hope they aren’t in on it’.”

At Helen Cervantes’ Residence…

“Good morning, Madam Helen Cervantes. I am Zandra Osma from Sxai TV Station,” a broadcast reporter introduced herself, gesturing toward the rolling camera crew behind her. “We’d like to ask you a few questions regarding your daughter, Kayla Mendoza.”

Helen patted her stylized hair and offered a dazzling, radiant smile to the camera lens. “Of course! Wait, do you have a beauty filter on that camera? Make sure I look young, alright? I want people to think Kayla and I are sisters!”

The reporter chuckled politely. “Certainly, Madam! Shall we begin?”

Straightening her posture, the reporter looked directly into the camera lens. “Welcome back, viewers! We are live at the residence of the viral internet sensation, Kayla Mendoza. Today, we sit down with her mother to clarify the ultimate mystery: Who is the real Kayla Mendoza?”

Turning to Helen, the reporter leaned in. “Madam Helen, is it true that Kayla is not your biological daughter? And if Kayla Mendoza is her legal name, who is ‘Ann Marie Cervantes’?”

Helen smiled with effortless confidence. “Yes, that is correct. Kayla is my legally adopted child. Kayla Mendoza is her birth name, whereas ‘Ann Marie Cervantes’ was merely her stage name when she performed at my establishment.”

“Fascinating…” The reporter nodded in understanding. “And is it true that Kayla worked at your bar as a stage performer?”

“Yes,” Helen replied, a touch of maternal pride in her voice. “She refused to accept handouts from me. She insisted on earning her own living as a singer at my venue to stand on her own two feet.”

Back at the Sanchez Executive Offices…

Watching the live interview on the flat-screen TV in his private office, Derek leaned back with a faint, thoughtful expression.

“I suppose she’s harmless after all…” Derek whispered to himself. Turning off the display, he stood up and strolled out into the corridor toward the executive restroom.

As he walked down the hallway, his eyes landed on Kayla (David) standing near a pillar, carefully checking her reflection in a tiny compact mirror.

“Hey, Kayla. Isn’t that mirror a little small for you?” Derek greeted coldly, stepping forward with his hands casually shoved into his trousers pockets. “Is there a shortage of full-length mirrors in your boss’s office?”

David snapped the compact shut, slipping it into his pocket. “Excuse me… and you are?”

Derek scoffed softly. “Oh, did you suffer from sudden memory loss? I happen to be a CEO in this company as well. I’m Derek—Kent’s half-brother.”

“Sir Kent never mentioned anything notable about you,” David replied dryly, maintaining a completely nonchalant facade.

“Whatever. Your boss is just bitter,” Derek smirked. But as he spoke, his eyes caught the light reflecting off Kayla’s neck—specifically resting on an octagon-shaped locket surrounded by delicate diamonds.

Derek’s smirk vanished instantly, his entire demeanor shifting into sudden, intense focus. “Wait… Kayla, where did you get that?” he asked, pointing directly at the pendant.

“Oh, this?” David instinctively cupped the pendant in his hand. “Why do you care?”

Derek took two swift steps forward, his gaze locking onto the locket like a hawk. “I asked you a question, Kayla. Where did you get that necklace?! “

“None of your business!” David snapped back defensively, turning on his heel to walk away.

Before he could take a single step, Derek grabbed his arm in a ironclad grip!

“I SAID, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT NECKLACE?!” Derek demanded, his voice echoing loudly down the hallway.

“Let go of me! You’re hurting my arm, let go!” David struggled, attempting to pry Derek’s fingers off his wrist.

You better thank your lucky stars I’m in a female body right now! David cursed furiously in his mind. If I were in my true form, I would have broken your jaw by now!

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO MY ASSISTANT, DEREK?!”

A thunderous voice shattered the commotion as Kent rushed down the corridor, violently shoving Derek away from David! “Get your hands off her!”

Derek lunged back toward David. “I was just asking your assistant a simple question! She has zero manners—turning her back on me while I was talking!”

“I explicitly told her not to engage with you! And I’ll say it again… stay the hell away from my assistant!” Kent roared. Seeing Derek take another aggressive step forward, Kent’s restraint snapped completely—he launched a devastating right hook straight into Derek’s face!

“STOP IT! BOTH OF YOU!”

A piercing scream echoed down the hallway as Helen Grace burst onto the scene, throwing herself between the two men.

“What is wrong with the two of you?! Kayla, why are these two acting like wild animals again?!” Helen Grace demanded angrily.

David stood frozen, unable to find his voice. A wave of guilt washed over him—he knew that if he hadn’t lost his temper with Derek, this fistfight between the brothers would never have broken out.

“If you two don’t stop this immature behavior right now, I am reporting both of you directly to Dad!” Helen Grace threatened, her eyes flashing with fury as she glared at her older brothers.

Only then did Kent and Derek back off, both breathing heavily, their eyes locked in a lethal glare.

“That’s enough, Kent… and Sir Derek. I’m sorry,” David offered softly, adjusting his disheveled blouse.

“You should both be ashamed! Every employee on this floor is watching you!” Helen Grace snapped, pointing around at the stunned office staff holding their breath. “We are supposed to set an example for this company, but look at you two! Trying to kill each other in the middle of the hallway! How embarrassing!”

Without waiting for a response, Helen Grace spun around and stormed off down the corridor.

“Wait, Little Sis!” Derek called out, quickly pursuing her to diffuse the situation.

Left alone in the quiet corridor, Kent turned toward David, his expression softening into genuine concern. “Are you alright, Kayla?”

David took a slow, deep breath and managed a small, reassuring smile. “I’m okay, Kent… thank you. I guess I kind of have an attitude problem too… I’m sorry.”

EPISODE XIV: DAVID AND DEREK (PART II)

PREVIOUSLY

David stepped into the shoes of Kayla Mendoza, but running into Kent’s sharp and arrogant brother, Derek, immediately threw a massive wrench into the plan.

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

Inside Helen Grace’s elegant corner office…

“Miss Kayla, I want you to meet my sissy, Michelle!” Helen Grace beamed as she introduced her friend. “She’s actually a famous vlogger, and she would love to interview you for her channel. Is that alright?”

“Oh? You mean…” David (as Kayla) stammered, nervously touching his throat.

“Yes! Please say yes, Miss Kayla,” Michelle pleaded enthusiastically. “You’re a massive viral sensation across the entire internet right now!”

Oh boy, this is going to be broadcast across the entire web! David panicked internally. Forcing a polished, graceful smile, he straightened his posture. “Of course, it would be my pleasure! I actually watch your vlogs regularly. It’s a total dream come true to be featured on your channel!”

“Aww, thank you so much, Miss Kayla!” Michelle gushed, pulling him into a tight hug.

Inside the Ultra-Modern MIB Main Headquarters…

“Violet, hit that target. Right on the bullseye,” an instructor commanded at the high-tech firing range.

Denny Ann raised her sidearm without hesitation and discharged three rapid rounds—each shot drilling straight through the center of the target.

Slow applause echoed from the doorway. “Our rookie’s flame is burning as bright as ever,” an elegant, mature woman observed as she stepped into the range.

“Good day, Madam! What brings you here?” the male instructor asked in surprise.

“I just stopped by to check on our top rookie. And to clarify a few rumors,” the older woman chuckled, fanning herself lightly.

Denny Ann lowered her firearm and offered a respectful bow. “What rumors would those be, Madam?”

“Is it true that Rita constantly keeps a strict eye on you and tolerates your antics?” the woman asked with a warm laugh.

Denny Ann chuckled softly. “Oh, not quite, Madam. She just raises her voice occasionally… probably because we can be a handful.”

“That’s perfectly fine,” the matriarch smiled, turning to the instructor. “By the way, Mr. Park… do you still intend on returning to Korea? Your senior keeps inquiring about your return date.”

“Actually, Madam, as soon as I finish this evaluation with Violet, I’ll be boarding my flight back to Korea,” Mr. Park answered professionally.

“Very well. I must take my leave for a briefing with the tech development wing,” the woman laughed gently. Before stepping out, she winked playfully. “And before I forget… you two make quite a charming pair! Promise!”

Before Denny Ann or Mr. Park could process the teasing remark, Mr. Rodriguez walked into the bay.

“Mr. Park, thank you for assisting,” Mr. Rodriguez said coldly. “Violet, are you prepared for the next training phase?”

“Y-Yes, Sir!” Denny Ann nodded, clearing her throat.

“Let’s test your absolute limits. Begin!” Mr. Rodriguez commanded, pressing a primary red activator on the glass panel.

Back at the Office…

“And that’s a wrap! This is Michelle Rada! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe with your reactions down below!” Michelle signed off cheerfully to the camera.

She turned to Helen Grace. “Thank you, Sis! I’m so lucky you’re connected with Miss Kayla Mendoza!”

“The pleasure is all mine, Sis!” Helen Grace smiled warmly.

David squirmed slightly, pressing a hand against his lower abdomen. “Ladies, if you’ll excuse me for a moment? I really need to use the restroom. Excuse me!” He quickly darted out the door and sped down the hallway.

In his sheer panic and lack of familiarity with navigating a woman’s body, he completely misread the signs and rushed straight into the men’s restroom ! Scrambling into the final stall at the end of the row, he locked the door behind him.

“Whew… that was way too close,” David wheezed under his breath.

Before he could compose himself, a sharp, recognizable voice echoed from the sink area—Derek, speaking intently on a phone call.

“Yes, Mom, I will hunt her down! Leave it to me… She will pay for what she did! I will personally end her!” Derek declared viciously into the receiver.

Suddenly… RIIING! RIIING!

David’s phone blasted its ringtone from inside the stall!

“Who’s in there?!” Derek barked.

David froze as heavy footsteps approached, the stall doors being rattled one by one. The moment Derek reached David’s stall and reached for the latch—

THWACK!

David whipped his smartphone through the gap, striking Derek square in the forehead!

“AAARGH!” Derek yelped, staggering back while clutching his bruised forehead.

Seizing the split-second opening, David burst out of the stall and bolted for the exit. Damn it, I completely forgot I’m currently transformed into Denny Ann / Kayla! he cursed internally.

Before he could reach the heavy exit door, Derek lunged forward, catching David’s arm in an iron grip!

“Where do you think you’re going, lady?” Derek smirked dangerously, his eyes tracking over David’s disguised face. “Looks like you walked into the wrong restroom?”

David yanked his arm free, confronting him head-on. “Let go of me, Derek! I am not afraid of you!”

“You know, Kayla… you’re full of surprises,” Derek taunted, taking a slow step closer. “Where do you get off acting this bold? Is it because you’re sleeping with Kent? Or should I assume you’re actually following me around? Maybe I’m the brother you actually want?”

David rolled his eyes dramatically. “Excuse me! You are not my type! You might be handsome and well-built… but you are definitely not my type!”

Furious, David raised his hand to deliver a sharp slap, but Derek intercepted his wrist instantly—pulling David in and forcing a hard kiss onto his lips!

David’s eyes widened in sheer outrage. Channeling every ounce of strength in his body, he shoved Derek off violently!

“Just because I look like a woman right now doesn’t mean I don’t know how to throw a punch!” David roared, driving a brutal, heavy fist straight into Derek’s stomach!

The breath exploded from Derek’s lungs. Overcome with sudden pain, he dropped to his knees on the cold tile floor, clutching his abdomen.

As David turned on his heel to flee, Derek wheezed out a question between ragged breaths.

“Are you… actually a woman… or a man?” Derek asked, his voice laced with genuine disbelief. “Or rather… are you a transwoman?”

“NO!” David snapped back defensively.

Derek slowly raised his head, his gaze fixing onto David’s chest—specifically locking onto the gleaming pendant around his neck.

“Then why… why do you have my necklace?” Derek asked, forcing himself back up onto his feet. “I gave that necklace to a boy years ago. He wasn’t straight… he was gay. We met when some kids were bullying him. And I know I’m not mistaken… that is my necklace! Look at the edge of the pendant… my name is engraved right there!”

David froze in his tracks. Slowly bringing the octagonal pendant up to his eyes, he inspected the tiny side margin. Encoded in microscopic lettering were five distinct letters: D-E-R-E-K .

“Now tell me,” Derek stepped closer, the arrogant mask entirely gone, replaced by raw emotion and desperation. “Are you really a woman, Kayla… or are you David ?”

Staring down at the engraved name, a wave of childhood memories rushed back into David’s mind…

FLASHBACK

“I’m Rek… R.E.K. Listen, whenever we meet again, I don’t care if you’re gay. You’ll always be my friend,” the 16-year-old Derek had said with a warm smile to young David.

PRESENT DAY

The cold, ruthless glint in Derek’s eyes melted into profound tenderness. The person he assumed was a rival or an enemy was actually the long-lost friend he had spent years wishing to see again.

“I searched everywhere for you…” Derek whispered softly. Reaching out, he wrapped his arms tightly around David, pulling him into a deep, desperate embrace. “I never even got to learn your real name back then…”

David stood paralyzed within Derek’s embrace, his fingers still clutching the silver octagonal necklace.

EPISODE XV: ANG PAGBABALIK NG MGA ALAALA

PREVIOUSLY

David was on the verge of being exposed because of his locket! Meanwhile, who is Mr. Rodriguez—one of the primary suspects in Rita and Ced’s investigation into Georgina’s death? And who is Derek really targeting?

CHAPTER CONTINUATION

Inside the state-of-the-art combat training bay…

“This is your second day of training, Violet… and it seems your instincts have sharpened far beyond where they were months ago,” Mr. Rodriguez observed, watching Denny Ann drenched in sweat after an exhausting round of hand-to-hand combat drills.

“I agree, Mr. Rodriguez. Her progression is remarkable!” Mr. Park applauded in approval.

Denny Ann tied her hair back, wiping the sweat from her brow. “Thank you, Mr. Rodriguez, Mr. Park. What’s next on the schedule? I’m ready!” she smiled confidently.

“Take a seat on the bench first,” Mr. Rodriguez requested gently. “I want to demonstrate a few advanced combat maneuvers used during my operational days—specifically designed for life-or-death scenarios. Watch closely, Violet… and please activate the combat sparring droid.”

“Sure!” Denny Ann replied, tapping the red interface button on the adjacent droid.

Inside Rita’s Private Office…

“Mr. Henry Rodriguez is deeply linked with two high-profile smuggling syndicates operating within the country,” Ced revealed, pointing to two surveillance photographs pinned to the whiteboard right beside Mr. Rodriguez’s mugshot.

Rita leaned closer to inspect the evidence. “Where did you gather all of this intel, Ced? Is this verified?”

“Yes. In fact, my primary source is right here. You can step out now,” Ced called out toward the doorway.

From the shadows of the corridor, a striking young woman in her mid-20s stepped forward, her posture firm and her eyes deadly serious.

“It’s all true,” the woman began. “In fact, I am currently working directly under Madam Emerald Sanchez as her personal executive assistant.”

Rita stood up from her swivel chair, slowly approaching the woman and studying her from head to toe. “How can I be certain you aren’t acting as a double agent for them?”

The woman met Rita’s gaze without flinching. “Because I am Denny Ann’s biological sister. My name is Denny Jean.”

“My God!” Rita gasped, covering her mouth in shock before whirling around to face Cedrick. “Ced! Why did you involve Violet’s sister in an active operation?! If Denny Ann finds out her family is wrapped up in this, she will lose her mind!”

“Please, Miss Rita,” Denny Jean stepped in. “Miss Ced isn’t at fault here. I volunteered to assist because I want justice for my sister! Besides, you need my intel—I uncovered their latest directive.”

“What directive?” Ced and Rita asked simultaneously.

Venom laced Denny Jean’s voice. “They know Ate Denny Ann is alive because of the microchip you planted on their deceased operative. Now, they plan to weaponize the circumstances surrounding Miss Georgina’s death. Madam Emerald coordinated with high-level media contacts to reopen the investigation publicly—and they are framing my sister! Instead of being treated as a key witness, they’re painting her as Georgina’s killer!”

“No… this cannot be happening!” Rita collapsed back against her desk, pure distress etched across her features. “Denny Ann’s true identity is in critical jeopardy. They will tear through Kayla and Ann Marie’s records! And we can’t hide the fact that both of those personas share Denny Ann’s face!”

“Don’t panic, Miss Rita. Madam Helen and I fabricated clean, ironclad background histories for both Kayla and Ann Marie. The documentation is entirely sealed,” Cedrick assured smoothly.

“And what about Violet?” Rita demanded sharply. “What happens if they dig into Violet’s active files? Denny Ann’s main objective isn’t complete!”

Cedrick offered a subtle, mischievous smirk, flicking a strand of long hair over her shoulder. “Then I have a solution, Rita… What if we authorize the file name and identity of Flor?”

Rita stared at Cedrick in utter disbelief. “What?! Flor? Flor has been dead for years! And besides—”

“I know,” Ced interrupted firmly. “My sister and I will handle the documentation overhaul. From this moment forward… Flor Dela Rosa is Agent Violet.”

Back in the Training Bay…

Mr. Rodriguez executed a sequence of fluid, lethal strikes against the combat droid.

“You aim for the lower flank here to compromise their balance before executing the final blow. Do you copy?” Mr. Rodriguez instructed, looking over at Denny Ann, who appeared completely paralyzed in thought.

Wait… these movements… I’ve seen these exact techniques before… Where have I seen this? Denny Ann thought frantically, struggling to piece together her fragmented memories.

Mr. Park clapped enthusiastically. “You’ve probably seen his combat style in action films or sports broadcasts! Mr. Rodriguez was a Mixed Martial Arts Champion back in 2001. Even at his age, he still executes his trademark combos flawlessly. I actually witnessed it firsthand when we were deployed together on a joint op.”

“No… that’s not it!” Denny Ann murmured, shaking her head.

Suddenly, her surroundings blurred, and a dark, blood-stained memory rushed through her mind… A vision of someone fighting off an ambush…

“…Georgina,” Denny Ann whispered under her breath.

“What’s that? Did you say something, Violet?” Mr. Park asked, stepping closer.

Denny Ann clutched her chest, her breathing coming in rapid, shallow gasps. “N-Nothing! I just need to check on something in the locker room… girl stuff! Excuse me!” She bolted out of the bay toward the women’s restroom.

FLASHBACK

Hiding behind dense foliage in an abandoned industrial park, young Denny Ann watched in terror as Georgina engaged six heavily armed operatives in hand-to-hand combat.

Utilizing elite counter-tactics, Georgina neutralized five attackers—until the door of a black armored van slid open, revealing an older, austere man.

“Mr. Naj… so you were the mastermind behind this entire operation all along?” Georgina wheezed, bleeding heavily from an abdominal wound.

“If you hadn’t stuck your nose into matters that didn’t concern you, Georgina… you wouldn’t be bleeding out on the concrete!” the man barked. “Now hand over the high-tech watch!”

“I will never let you have this watch!” Georgina shouted defiantly, dropping back into a defensive stance. “I know the atrocities you intend to commit with it!”

“Pathetic. You honestly think those outdated combat forms will save you against me?” the man remarked coldly, stripping off his trench coat.

Georgina lunged forward with a sharp jab, but the man dodged effortless, launching into a brutal counter-offensive—utilizing sharp, specialized martial arts techniques. He delivered a crushing strike straight into Georgina’s side, shattering her balance and sending her crashing onto the asphalt!

“You meddled too far… Give me the watch!” the man demanded.

Georgina spat blood onto the ground, forcing a weak laugh. “Ha… the watch I’m carrying is a decoy. Look for yourself.”

“You relentless thorn in my side!” the man roared, plunging a concealed blade straight into Georgina’s chest before motioning for his surviving men to riddle her body with gunfire.

PRESENT DAY

Inside the secluded restroom stall, Denny Ann slid down the wall, weeping uncontrollably.

“I remember everything now…” she sobbed, her hands trembling uncontrollably. “Mr. Rodriguez… he is Mr. Naj ! He killed Miss Georgina! You will pay for what you did!”

The main door swung open as Marie stepped inside.

“Violet? Are you crying?” Marie asked in alarm, rushing to her side. “Did Mr. Rodriguez hurt you during sparring? Did he push you too hard?”

“No, Marie… I’m sorry,” Denny Ann wiped her tears hastily. She made a move to step past her, but Marie gripped her forearm firmly.

“Listen to me, sis,” Marie said with absolute gravity. “Whatever burden you are carrying right now… promise me you won’t execute a solo attack if you know you’re stepping into immediate danger. You’re the one who always drilled that rule into our heads.”

Denny Ann stared at her comrade before pulling her into a tight, desperate embrace. “Thank you, Marie. I needed to hear that.”

“Anytime,” Marie smiled gently. “By the way, where is David? Is he stationed with you for training today?”

“No, I think he’s with the Tech Wing? I’ll check on him later,” Denny Ann replied, catching her composure. “I should head back to finish the session. Thanks again, Marie!”

Inside Rita’s Office…

“And the best part about this strategy, Rita,” Cedrick explained, “is that the syndicate has zero record of your late sister, Flor. We can utilize her identity as an active shield without raising red flags.”

Denny Jean looked at Rita pleadingly. “One last favor, Miss Rita… please keep my involvement a secret from my sister for now. I don’t want her carrying extra worry while she’s in the field.”

Rita pulled Denny Ann’s younger sister into a protective hug. “Consider it done. But stay vigilant at all times, Denny Jean. If your cover is ever compromised, contact me or head straight to Ced’s shop. We will protect you with our lives.”

Cedrick raised an eyebrow, observing the exchange. “Why are you getting so emotional, Sis?”

Rita sighed heavily, looking out the window. “I just refuse to let what happened to Georgina and me happen to Denny Ann and her sister. In this twisted equation… Georgina is Denny Ann, and I am Denny Jean.”

At the Sanchez Group Executive Suite…

Kent stood by the floor-to-ceiling glass window, looking out over the city skyline. “I heard you stumbled into the wrong restroom earlier, Kayla? Did Derek harass you again?”

David (in Kayla’s form) forced an easy smile. “Oh, Kent, it was nothing! Your brother was just asking how our meeting went with the investors. I told him you closed the deal effortlessly!”

However, that was far from what actually transpired…

THROWBACK (INSIDE THE RESTROOM)

“Are you a transwoman? Are you the boy I knew back then?! Answer me, Kayla!” Derek demanded harshly, towering over David in front of the locked restroom door.

“NO!” David yelled, straining to keep his voice steady and feminine. “I am not a man, and I am certainly not a transwoman! I am a biological woman! My name is Kayla Mendoza, daughter of Helen Cervantes! Look up my public records if you don’t believe me—I was born a female!”

“Then why are you wearing this NECKLACE ?!” Derek roared, staring intensely at the silver octagonal pendant. “I want the truth, Kayla! Who owns this necklace?! Do you know him?! Where did you get it?!”

Overwhelmed with blinding emotion, Derek slammed his fist violently into the bathroom mirror, shattering the glass while turning his back to David.

David swallowed hard, realizing his cover and his secret were hanging by a thread. “You really want to know?!”

“Yes! The damn truth!” Derek shouted back.

David took a shuddering breath, wiping a tear from his cheek. “This necklace belonged to my brother! He gave it to me right before he died! Are you satisfied now?!”

Derek froze instantly. He turned around slowly, the color draining entirely from his face. “What? He’s… dead? But… how?”

“Mr. Sanchez, that is absolutely none of your business!” David snapped. Reaching up to his neck, he unclasped the locket. “If you want it back so badly, take it!”

“No! Please… keep it,” Derek interrupted hastily, his voice cracking with suppressed emotion. “I spent years searching for your brother. I know it sounds crazy… but the moment I met him all those years ago, I felt something I couldn’t explain. Once we became friends… I developed feelings for him. Real feelings that never truly went away. I’m sorry.”

David locked eyes with Derek, asking softly, “Are you… gay?”

Derek bowed his head, nodding slowly. “If that’s how you want to label it… yes, I am.”

Without another word, Derek opened the restroom door and walked out into the corridor, leaving David standing completely stunned in the quiet room.

EPISODE XVI: WANTED MISS CONGENIALITY (PART I)

IN RITA’S OFFICE

The air inside the office was thick, heavy with an almost suffocating solemnity when Rita summoned Christian and Marie. Yet, even before a single word could bridge the tense silence, the familiar, sharp clicking of Shairmaine’s heels shattered the moment, her arched eyebrow slicing through the air with haughty defiance.

“I called all of you here because the main office has handed down a brand-new mission for our division,” Rita began, her posture composed as she crossed her legs elegantly in her executive chair, her gaze sweeping across them like a cold blade.

“Seriously, Miss Rita? Is it just going to be Christian and me handling this mission? Where on earth are Violet and David?” Shairmaine asked, her tone dripping with competitive skepticism, clearly desperate to seize the spotlight.

“Excuse me, Shairmaine? Just in case you’ve forgotten, I am an essential part of this team, hello!” Marie snapped back instantly, her patience wearing thin as she gave Shairmaine a sharp, unyielding shove to force her to step aside.

“That’s enough! From now on… You, Shairmaine, I command you to be—” Rita started to decree, but before she could finish, Shairmaine eagerly cut her off, blinded by her own ambition.

“It’s my absolute pleasure, Miss Rita, to step up as the new team leader! I promise you, I’ll work twice as hard! I will shatter every single standard and surpass even Violet’s so-called skills!” Shairmaine declared proudly, her chest puffed out with arrogant self-importance.

“Darling! That is not even remotely what I was about to say,” Rita interrupted, a sharp edge of irritation cutting through her voice as she pinched the bridge of her nose. “I want you to become one of Violet’s subordinates. In short, you are just a new member! As for your former teammates, the head has already transferred them to other team leaders.”

“What?! No, this cannot be happening! Me? Reduced to nothing more than Violet’s errand girl and shadow?!” Shairmaine shrieked, her voice cracking as if the heavens themselves had violently collapsed upon her world.

“That’s an order! Whether you like it or loathe it, you will be supervised by Violet,” Rita stated with absolute finality, her eyes narrowing into a dangerous, unblinking glare that pierced straight through Shairmaine’s protests.

Moments later, the heavy oak door swung open, and Denny Ann—meticulously maintaining her masquerade as Violet—and David walked in side by side. Marie and Christian immediately rushed forward to greet the arriving duo with a mix of warmth and relief.

“I miss you so much, baby!” Marie cried out joyfully, throwing her arms around David in a bone-crushing, desperate embrace.

“Marie, please, stop that! Have some shame in front of Miss Rita. She might actually think the world is ending because of your ridiculous theatrics,” David scolded gently, trying to push her away while a soft, betraying smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

Meanwhile, Christian took a few steps toward Denny Ann, offering a warm, reassuring pat on her shoulder and a firm handshake. “How was your grueling training with Mr. Rodriguez? I heard a rumor that you actually broke down in tears because of how brutal it was?” Christian inquired, his eyes filled with genuine curiosity.

“Oh, I am so sorry, Violet! I accidentally let it slip to Chris about what happened between the two of you in the comfort room the other day,” Marie confessed with a bright, unapologetic grin, flashing a playful peace sign before bursting into a light laugh.

“It’s quite alright, Christian. I just sustained a minor injury during the ordeal, but I am perfectly fine now,” Denny Ann replied, her tone carefully measured, formal, and guarded as she looked at him.

“Now, since all of you are finally gathered here, I want you to extend a warm welcome to Miss Shairmaine Fernandez as your newest teammate,” Rita announced, turning her gaze back to the group with a subtle, knowing smile.

“Is that so? Oh, how wonderful! A warm welcome to the team, Shairmaine!” Denny Ann greeted her with a radiant, welcoming smile, stepping forward and extending her hand in an honest gesture of reconciliation and embrace.

But before her fingers could even graze the air, Shairmaine violently slapped her hand away, recoiling as if she had touched something utterly repulsive. “Stay away from me, you pathetic loser!” Shairmaine spat out, her voice dripping with venom and disgust.

Marie’s restraint finally snapped, the fiery temper within her boiling over at Shairmaine’s vile behavior. “Hey! You miserable witch! You were just offered a sincere, warm welcome, and yet you act like such an arrogant, overacting snob! Just what in the world do you have to be so proud of, huh?!” Marie screamed, stepping right up to her with fists clenched.

“Hmm… Oh, just this !” Shairmaine retorted viciously, tossing her head back, lifting her chin into the air, and aggressively pointing at herself with nauseating self-admiration.

Marie’s eyes scanned Shairmaine up and down in absolute disgust, from the tip of her designer shoes to her sneering face. “Miss Rita, look at her! She’s starting physical fights and striking her arrogant poses right in front of me again!” Marie complained, throwing her hands up in utter exasperation toward their superior.

“That’s enough, both of you! Settle down and listen up, because you have a critical new mission awaiting you. You are tasked with retrieving a relic of unimaginable power,” Rita commanded sternly, her fingers dancing across her console. Instantly, a holographic projector flickered to life in the center of the room, casting a luminous, shimmering glow that revealed a radiant, breathtakingly ancient crown.

THE CROWN OF DIAN MAGAYON

“What on earth is that?” Christian asked, his eyes locked in absolute awe upon the floating, iridescent hologram.

“That is the legendary Crown of Dian Magayon,” Rita answered, her voice dropping to a grave, reverent register.

“Dian Magayon? The ancient Goddess of all flying creatures?” David murmured, a sudden wave of realization and historical dread washing over his features. “Legend says she possesses absolute command over every winged beast in existence, and beyond that, she has the divine ability to traverse the skies at will by physically transforming herself into a majestic bird.”

“You are entirely right, David. According to Philippine mythology, the goddess Magayon wore a sacred crown from which the elders whispered all her cosmic powers originated,” Rita elaborated, leaning forward.

“So, what are we supposed to do? How on earth are we expected to retrieve something like that? And more importantly… are these myths actually real?” Christian fired off a rapid succession of questions, his scientific mind struggling to reconcile the impossible.

“Of course they are real! Every single artifact the MIB secures originates from ancient, primordial entities and forgotten history. I understand how difficult this is to comprehend, but haven’t you realized yet that advanced technology is merely the twin sister of ancient magic? The only difference is that science has learned to articulate and dissect technology, while true magic still lingers beyond the current reach of our instruments! Regardless, this very crown is standing on the precipice of catastrophic danger. You must secure it before it falls into the wrong, corrupted hands and unleashes untold destruction upon the world,” Rita explained, her eyes burning with urgency.

“Destruction? What kind of devastation could a simple crown possibly cause?” Shairmaine chimed in, her curiosity finally piercing through her self-absorption.

“Now, that is the core objective of your mission—you are going to find out. I am transmitting the complete dossier directly to your devices right now, along with the exact, coordinates of where the Crown is hidden. Good luck, Team,” Rita concluded with a final, dismissive wave.

“I’ll take full charge of cross-referencing and researching all the historical data,” David offered immediately, swiftly pulling out his tablet to prep the systems.

As Rita turned to leave the briefing area, Denny Ann suddenly stepped forward, blocking her path with an urgent look in her eyes. “Wait, Miss Rita. May I speak with you in private?”

“Of course. Follow me into the conference room,” Rita instructed, and Denny Ann slipped silently through the door right behind her.

Out in the main hallway, David was busy calibrating his device when his tablet suddenly slipped from his trembling fingers, plummeting toward the hard floor. Before it could shatter, Christian’s reflexes kicked in, his hand shooting out to catch the gadget inches from disaster.

“Watch it, man. You don’t want to break that piece of hardware,” Christian warned calmly as he handed the tablet back.

“Thanks, I appreciate it,” David nodded, reclaiming his equipment.

“I can smell it in the air… something foul is happening here, and I completely despise it,” Shairmaine whispered venomously to herself, casting a long, malevolent glare toward the conference room door where Denny Ann had vanished.

INSIDE THE CONFERENCE ROOM

As soon as the heavy door sealed shut, locking out the rest of the world, Denny Ann spoke, her voice trembling with pent-up urgency. “What is it, Denny Ann? Is something wrong?” Rita asked, her professional armor softening into genuine concern.

“I am only missing one final piece, Miss Rita. Just one last, concrete confirmation, and I will have absolute, undeniable proof that Mr. Henry Rodriguez is the cold-blooded murderer of Miss Georgina. And what terrifies me even more is that he has already begun issuing direct threats against my life!” Denny Ann confessed, her voice shaking as the raw terror of her reality finally broke through.

“Your next moves are entirely up to you, but you must exercise extreme caution! Let us finally deliver true, unyielding justice to my sister and secure your ultimate freedom,” Rita urged, her voice fierce with repressed grief and determination.

“Freedom? I… I don’t quite understand what you mean,” Denny Ann stammered, confusion clouding her eyes.

“Ah, I forgot… the enemies have completely twisted the narrative, turning the entire situation upside down. Instead of standing as the primary, protected witness to the truth, they have ruthlessly framed you as the primary suspect in the very crime you survived. Do not despair; Ced and I are working around the clock, exhausting every possible resource to ensure that Ann Marie and Kayla remain safe. But you must remain hyper-vigilant—especially when you are inhabiting the lives of Kayla or Ann Marie—because there will be moments when we will not be able to deploy immediate backup should things violently spiral out of control!” Rita warned gravely, the weight of a deadly war resting heavily on her shoulders.

EPISODE XVII: WANTED MISS CONGENIALITY (PART II)

INSIDE THE APPLICANTS’ FACILITY…

As they trailed behind Mother Agnes toward the pageant’s registration area, Denny Ann felt a tightening in her chest—a visceral, jagged anxiety. Her heels clicked rhythmically against the floor, but every few seconds, she would deliberately stomp on David’s foot, a desperate, silent signal. She couldn’t shake the suffocating feeling that something was fundamentally wrong with this “sponsor,” this woman who carried herself with a mask of matronly grace that didn’t quite reach her predatory eyes. The hallway was unnervingly silent, the kind of quiet that precedes a storm, making every step feel like they were walking deeper into a trap.

“Mother Agnes, are you certain this is the way to registration?” David asked, his voice carefully neutral, masking the protective instinct surging within him. He kept a steadying hand on Denny Ann, who was fighting to maintain her composure while disguised as the elusive Venus (Violet). “It feels rather… secluded.”

The old woman offered a smile so sweet it bordered on saccharine, though a strange, glassy glint flickered in her eyes. “Oh, my dear children, don’t you worry your hearts. This path is exclusive—reserved only for the most promising candidates, those with a rare, radiant potential. It’s far better to take this shortcut than to languish in those dreadfully long queues outside.”

With a sudden, jarring motion, she shoved open a heavy door marked VIP Lounge .

The moment they crossed the threshold, the air grew thick and heavy, as if the room itself were holding its breath. The space was vast and cavernous, cast in dim, oppressive lighting. It was not empty. Several men stood in the corners, cloaked in charcoal-black suits, their silence absolute, their posture lethal—like predators waiting for the signal to strike.

“Mother… something is horribly wrong here,” Denny Ann whispered, her voice trembling. She grabbed David’s arm, her fingernails digging into his sleeve, her heart hammering against her ribs like a bird trapped in a cage.

David’s eyes scanned the room with razor-sharp precision, his jaw setting into a hard line. “Wait a moment, Mother Agnes,” he said, his voice dropping to a dangerous, low register as he reached surreptitiously for the high-tech gadget concealed in his pocket. “The atmosphere in this room has shifted. And I don’t think we’re here for an audition.”

The old woman stopped in the center of the floor. Slowly, agonizingly, she pivoted to face them. The warmth on her face evaporated, replaced by a grin that seemed to stretch too wide, too thin—a chilling display that made the hair on their necks stand up.

“Children,” she hissed, the word dripping with venom. In a heartbeat, the mask of Mother Agnes crumbled. Her voice, once smooth and matronly, shattered into something shrill, raspy, and undeniably lethal. “You really shouldn’t put so much faith in strangers. The crown is reserved for its rightful masters, not for meddling MIB spies!”

“Told you! I’ve been smelling something rotten since we walked in!”

A familiar, taunting voice cut through the shadows. The group spun around, their blood running cold as Shairmaine stepped out from the darkness of a corner, flanked by a phalanx of armed men who immediately moved to seal the exits.

“Shairmaine?! What are you doing here?!” Marie cried out, her voice a mix of shock and betrayal as she stumbled back, instinctively pulling closer to Christian.

“Isn’t it obvious? I’ve known about this setup for ages!” Shairmaine sneered, her face glowing with a toxic cocktail of triumph and bottomless envy. “While you idiots were playing pretend, believing this was just some trivial beauty pageant, I was busy making a deal with the people who truly own the crown!”

BACK AT KENT’S OFFICE…

Meanwhile, the tension in Kent’s office was reaching a breaking point. The silence in the room felt like a physical weight as Derek stared at the weathered photograph in his trembling hands. The gravity of the revelations shattering his worldview was almost too much to bear.

“The puzzle pieces don’t fit, Kent,” Derek said, his voice ragged with confusion and a rising sense of dread. “If Denny Ann is the girlfriend you lost to death, then why is she the spitting image of Kayla? And why is David—your best friend who has been missing for years—the one standing by her side?”

Kent’s knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists, his jaw trembling with a volatile mix of grief and fury. “I don’t know, Derek! I don’t have the answers! But I feel it in my bones—the MIB is involved, and they are pulling every string to bring us down.”

He grabbed his phone, his thumb hovering over the contact for Rita. “We have to move. Now. David and Denny Ann are walking into a slaughterhouse.”

THE EXPLOSION OF VIOLENCE IN THE VIP ROOM Back in the VIP lounge, the air was thick with the scent of gunpowder and imminent death. Denny Ann, David, Marie, and Christian stood in the eye of the storm.

“Idiots!” one of the gunmen roared, leveling his weapon squarely at them. “Did you really think you could just waltz in here and take the Crown of Dian Magayon?”

“Christian, Marie—get ready,” David whispered. He withdrew his laser watch, his eyes locked on the tactical movements of their captors.

“Always ready, brother,” Christian replied, his voice a pillar of steel as he shifted to shield Marie behind his back.

“Don’t you dare ruin my face!” Marie shrieked, panic warring with her vanity as she clung to Christian’s arm. “I am destined for Miss International fame!”

“Violet, now!” David shouted.

In a blur of motion that defied human reaction time, Denny Ann lunged, drawing her concealed weapon and firing a single, precise shot at the main light switch.

CLICK!

The room was plunged into total, suffocating darkness. The silence lasted only a fraction of a second before it was shattered by the thunderous roar of gunfire—the battle had begun, a chaotic dance of muzzle flashes and desperation in the dark.

EPISODE XVIII: WANTED MISS CONGENIALITY (PART III)

BACKSTAGE AT THE BEAUTY AND TALENT SEARCH

“Mother Agnes, my heart is racing so fast… I am deeply terrified that I might not win this crown,” Denny Ann whispered softly, her hands trembling slightly as she stood before the illuminated vanity mirror, carefully adjusting the shimmering tiara and the intricate folds of her gown.

“Oh, my dear Venus, you are the absolute epitome of breathtaking beauty tonight! I assure you, even if I were not sitting on the panel of judges, you would still effortlessly emerge as the triumphant victor of this evening,” Mother Agnes replied, her voice radiating a soothing warmth as she offered an encouraging, affectionate smile. Denny Ann returned the gesture with a sweet, grateful curve of her lips.

“Well then, I must take my leave and head toward the judges’ deliberation room for our final briefing. Good luck, my sweet Venus. Just relax and give it your absolute best,” Mother Agnes instructed gently, placing both hands reassuringly on Denny Ann’s shoulders before turning on her heel and walking away.

“Understood, Mother. Thank you so much for everything!” Denny Ann called out after her.

The moment the elderly woman’s footsteps faded into the distance, Christian and Marie slipped quickly into the dressing room to check on their undercover operative.

“Let me just add a few final touches of makeup and retouch your face, Violet!” Marie chimed cheerfully, holding up her cosmetic kit like a tactical weapon.

“Wait, do either of you know where Shairmaine is? Have we checked if she’s holding up alright in the adjacent room?” Denny Ann asked, a shadow of genuine anxiety crossing her features.

“Yes, Violet, she’s completely fine. Right out there, busy as usual, turning on the charm and flirting shamelessly with the production staff,” Christian answered with a knowing, teasing wink in her direction.

“Honestly, though, there is something very peculiar going on between the two of you that I simply cannot ignore anymore!” Marie suddenly halted her makeup brush, freezing mid-motion as she stared intently at Denny Ann’s cheek.

“And what on earth is that supposed to mean?” they both chorused in unison, feigning innocence.

“Just what are you two to each other, hmm?” Marie pressed further, her eyes sparkling with malicious, playful curiosity.

“What do you mean, ‘what are we’?” Christian deflected smoothly, playing along with an indifferent shrug.

“Are you secretly dating already? Come on, tell me the absolute truth—no secrets between us besties!” Marie interrogated directly, crossing her arms.

“Absolutely not! Besides, that is strictly prohibited. It is right at the top of the MIB’s most rigid operational rules,” Denny Ann denied swiftly, her voice carrying a nervous edge.

“Ugh, how utterly boring!” Marie groaned, her lower lip protruding into a dramatic pout.

“Indeed. Let us all remain strictly focused on the mission at hand,” Christian scolded gently, scratching the back of his head in mild embarrassment.

MEANWHILE, AT THE SANCHEZ RESIDENCE…

While the high-stakes competition was unfolding under the bright lights, Kent and Derek were lounging in the living room, sharing a lighthearted burst of laughter just as Helen Grace returned from her errand outside.

“What on earth is going on in here? Judging by the noise, you two sound like the world is literally coming to an end from sheer happiness,” Helen Grace remarked, dropping her designer handbag onto the sofa with an exhausted sigh.

“Oh, nothing! We were just reminiscing and having a good laugh about the past. Come on, sis, join us over here!” Derek invited warmly, patting the vacant space beside him.

Helen Grace immediately walked over and sank into the cushions next to Kent. “Do tell—what on earth happened to make you and Kuya Derek suddenly become close friends again?”

“You won’t even believe this if I told you… remember David, Denny Ann’s inseparable best friend?” Kent began, setting the stage.

“Yes, of course. Is there finally a lead on where he might be?” Helen Grace inquired, her curiosity instantly piqued.

“The truth is… David was actually the young man Kuya Derek held feelings for back when we were just kids,” Kent revealed, dropping the bombshell.

“OMG? Are you serious right now?! But how is that even possible?!” Helen Grace gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief.

“Because of Kayla, Kent’s executive assistant. It turns out Kayla and David were biological siblings. And… it pains me to say this, but Kent and I share the exact same tragic fate. David is already deceased. Kayla took me to his final resting place just the other day,” Derek recounted quietly, a heavy sadness coloring his tone.

“What?! So, Kuya… is that why your private investigators could never track David down, because he was already gone? Oh, cruelty of cruelties, what a cruel twist of fate!” Helen Grace reacted, pressing a hand to her chest.

“That precise realization is why we mutually decided to once and for all bury our childish, bitter war, seeing as both of us have already lost so much,” Derek smiled faintly, a bittersweet acceptance in his eyes. “Though, as it turns out, my romantic prospects aren’t entirely dead yet—especially since Kayla looks precisely like an exact replica of Denny Ann!” he joked lightly to break the tension.

“No way, bro, she is an absolute carbon copy of Denny Ann! Besides, you wouldn’t even pass Kayla’s high standards anyway,” Kent laughed, teasing his brother mercilessly.

“If you won’t claim her, then I’ll gladly step in and court her myself!” Derek fired back playfully.

“You’re out of your mind! Back off, she’s mine!” Kent retorted with a grin.

BACK AT THE BEAUTY AND TALENT SEARCH…

Backstage, the remaining candidates were frantically executing last-minute preparations.

“Violet and Shairmaine, you must do whatever it takes to secure that crown. Not just for the safety of countless innocent lives, but to permanently shatter the syndicate’s wicked designs,” Christian instructed the two women firmly.

“Rest assured, there is no doubt that I will be the one crowned victorious tonight!” Shairmaine declared with unshakeable, arrogant self-assurance.

“David is stationed outside with the escape van. He has full overriding access to the elevators, primary entrances, and emergency exit routes in the event we require an immediate, high-velocity evacuation. Good luck out there!” Marie added encouragingly.

Out on the grand stage, the candidates were being called out one by one for their sweeping production number and formal introductions.

“Candidate Number 1: My name is Alyssa, 23, coming from the land of the rising sun, Japan!”

Backstage, the production coordinators were moving with military precision. “Get ready, Candidates Number 9 and 10, you are up next on stage!” the floor director barked urgently.

“Shairmaine, I genuinely do not understand why you have held such an intense, burning animosity toward me since day one, but we are forced to put that aside and work as an absolute team tonight for the sake of this mission,” Denny Ann pleaded softly, reaching out to gently touch her coworker’s arm in a gesture of unity.

Shairmaine was just about to lash out with a venomous retort when a stagehand roughly shoved them forward. “Nine and ten, go! Move, move!”

Without another choice, they stepped gracefully past the velvet curtains and onto the dazzling stage amid thunderous, historic applause from the roaring crowd.

Shairmaine stepped forward first, her striking, blood-red evening gown sweeping the floor. “My name is Samantha, 26, coming from the city that never sleeps, New York! And I leave you with this profound philosophy: When you believe, you need to believe. I thank you!”

Next, Denny Ann glided smoothly to the center mic, flashing a radiant, unforgettable smile. “My name is Venus, 23, coming from the city of Cheyenne, Wyoming! And I leave you with this thought: Of what use is overwhelming physical beauty if the mind within is entirely vacant? I thank you!”

The glamorous runway walk concluded, and they were immediately ushered into the terrifying crucible of the Q&A segment.

“Candidate Number 10, your final, determining judge for this decisive round is none other than… Mother Agnes. Mother, please proceed with your question,” the host announced grandly.

With a gentle, grandmotherly smile, Mother Agnes stepped up to the microphone stand. “Hello, Venus. Are you feeling nervous tonight, my child?”

“Just a little bit of butterflies in my stomach, Mother. But I am completely fine, and I am ready,” Denny Ann answered with absolute grace and poise.

“Your question is this: If you are crowned as Miss International tonight, what is your very first advocacy, and why?” the elderly woman asked thoughtfully.

“For me, winning a crown is not an absolute prerequisite to helping others, but should I be blessed and fortunate enough to be crowned Miss International tonight, my absolute primary advocacy will focus entirely on environmental preservation. I intend to lock arms with the government, especially our environmental agencies…” Denny Ann continued, her voice ringing out with fierce conviction and intelligence.

MEANWHILE, AT THE MIB LABORATORY…

While David sat in front of his high-resolution laptop screen, watching the live stream of Denny Ann performing brilliantly on stage, he abruptly froze. A chilling wave of realization crashed over him, dragging his thoughts violently back to the dangerous deceptions he had recently left behind with Derek.

“I never in a million dreams imagined our paths would cross again under such catastrophic circumstances…” he muttered darkly to himself, before his comm-link suddenly blared to life with an incoming secure call.

“David! Come in, do you copy? You must exercise extreme caution right this instant!” Rita’s voice crackled through the earpiece, tight with panic.

“Miss Rita? Yes, I’m here, what is it?” David answered instantly, sitting up straight.

“According to my latest, highly verified intelligence feed, a notorious syndicate known as the Black Dragon has actively breached the venue and successfully seized the original, authentic crown! Their ultimate objective is to utilize its ancient resonance to unlock the dormant, hidden diamonds sealed deep inside the National Museum! Do not panic—I already have operatives moving into position near the perimeter, but mark my words: under no circumstances must you allow that crown to be placed upon any candidate’s head until the sophisticated mind-control device wired directly into it is completely disabled!” Rita commanded urgently on the other end of the line.

“The Black Dragon?” David gasped, his blood running cold as his mind violently flashed back to the identical, ominous insignia he had spotted earlier etched onto the ring and accessories worn by Mother Agnes.

“Yes, the Black Dragon. Are these the very same bastards who murdered Miss Georgina and tried to hunt down your temporal watch?” Rita pressed, her tone sharpening.

“Correct! We discussed this terror network long ago!”

“No, no! How on earth is this even possible…” David slammed his laptop shut with frantic haste, grabbed his tactical gear, and bolted headfirst out the door to intercept the threat and save Denny Ann before it was too late!

EPISODE XIX: WANTED MISS CONGENIALITY (PART IV)

INSIDE CED’S LABORATORY…

Ced was intensely absorbed, his fingers rapidly scrolling through data streams on his high-end laptop when his attention was suddenly arrested by a deeply concealed, encrypted file embedded deep within the system architecture.

“February 20, 2019… an unnamed, orphaned file? Why on earth would Georgina ever leave something like this unlabelled? I know Georgina better than anyone—she was an absolute stickler for hyper-organization. Whether it was drinking glasses, cutlery, or classified documents, everything had to have a precise label,” Ced muttered aloud, dropping a subtle, passive-aggressive hint toward his brother standing nearby. “Then again, I suppose you and Georgina never managed to have an official label between you while she was still alive, did you?”

“Oh, stop manufacturing unnecessary drama out of thin air, you dwarf! Just click open the file already so we can see if there is anything of actual value buried in there,” Cedrick retorted, leaning over his brother’s shoulder to peer at the screen.

“Look at this video footage… This turns out to be the exact day Georgina ventured out entirely alone on her classified solo mission: Mission High-tech Watch ,” Ced read aloud, his finger hovering over the interface before he finally pressed the play button.

GEORGINA’S SURVEILLANCE VIDEO:

Within the grainy, weathered confines of the old video recording, Georgina appeared grave and resolute as she navigated the shadowed, subterranean corridors of a decrepit, abandoned warehouse.

“February 20, 2019. I am currently stationed inside the Black Dragon’s abandoned clandestine warehouse, where the legendary high-tech watch is reportedly being concealed. Should anyone manage to recover this recording in the future, I want to place the absolute truth on record.

The high-tech watch is by no means an ordinary human invention; it originates from advanced extraterrestrial beings who descended in 1890 and entrusted it directly to our ancestors—most notably Datu Juban. Beyond its monumental technological marvels, it was further forged with raw, catastrophic magic by the ancient priestesses and shamans of the Philippines. And now, I have uncovered a horrifying reality: the supreme mastermind and grand leader of the Black Dragon syndicate is none other than one of the founding pillars of the MIB itself—Mr. Henry Rodriguez! He intends to harness the terrifying power of the watch to subjugate and reign over the entire world.

Talk about an overwhelming, delusional ambition—conquering the entire globe right off the bat? Why couldn’t he start small, say, with the Philippines, or perhaps just a single barangay before aiming for the city? No, I’m just joking! May Rita somehow forgive me for pulling this reckless, solo stunt…“

The video footage captured the exact moment Georgina slipped past the heavy security doors, stepping entirely alone into the sprawling main control room of the compound.

“That woman was relentlessly, suicidally stubborn! Rita explicitly instructed all four of us to enter that sector together as a unified unit, yet she still insisted on going rogue!” Ced cursed angrily as he watched the monitor.

“Ssssh, keep quiet and let it play. She recorded quite a lengthy log,” Cedrick hushed him.

AT THE BEAUTY AND TALENT SEARCH STAGE…

Meanwhile, the grand pageant had reached its deafening, fever-pitch climax out on the dazzling stage.

“Now, this is it! We have our magnificent final candidates standing right here before us, and the final results are resting securely in the palm of my hands. My goodness, even I am shaking with nervous excitement!” Mother Agnes announced gleefully into her handheld microphone, flashing a deeply calculated, knowing smile toward Denny Ann and Shairmaine, who stood poised side by side in the background.

Down in the crowded audience section, Marie and Christian were maintaining a vigilant watch when David suddenly materialized out of nowhere, slipping quietly into the seat beside them.

“Code for Danger,” David whispered urgently, his voice tight and dripping with cold sweat as he leaned toward Christian.

“What?” Christian shouted back over the deafening roar of the cheering crowd, cupping his hand over his ear.

“Marie!” David hissed, grabbing the woman’s attention.

“Why on earth are you sneaking up on us like this? What is going on?” Marie demanded, her eyes wide with bewilderment as she adjusted her glasses.

“Code for Danger! Mother Agnes is an active, high-ranking operative of the Black Dragon syndicate. Look closely at the insignia on her ring and the accessories she’s wearing right now… Violet’s life is hanging by a razor-thin thread!” David warned gravely.

“Bloody hell!” Christian gasped, violently shoving his chair back as he bolted upright.

“Sit your ass back down, Chris! I heard every single word he said. I will handle this end. The two of you, fall back to the escape van immediately and secure our extraction point alongside Shairmaine and Violet. Move!” Marie commanded with absolute authority. Without waiting for a reply, she pivoted sharply and slipped away into the shadows of the backstage area.

Marie’s first destination was Mother Agnes’s private dressing room. Spotting the elderly woman’s nameplate bolted to the heavy wooden door, Marie immediately activated the tactical interface embedded in her eyewear.

“Mother Agnes… suit activation sequence: The Invisible ,” Marie whispered into her reflective smart-glasses. In a terrifying blink of an eye, her physical form dissolved into complete transparency before she pushed the door open without a single sound.

BACK ON THE MAIN STAGE…

“Please step forward, Candidate Number 7… as you desire, you are our esteemed 3rd runner-up, congratulations! Oh, wait… my apologies, that was actually Candidate Number 9,” Mother Agnes corrected herself smoothly, feigning clumsy confusion as she fumbled with the golden envelope.

The remaining candidates were called out one by one until only two figures remained stranded under the blinding spotlight: Shairmaine and Denny Ann.

“And the next name I shall draw is our official 1st runner-up… leaving the ultimate victor to be crowned as our brand-new Miss International! Oh, goodness gracious, I am utterly beside myself!” the host shrieked alongside Mother Agnes.

Meanwhile, Shairmaine’s sharp instincts picked up on an unnatural, eerie stillness rippling through the audience. “Violet, are you not noticing this? There is something profoundly, disturbingly wrong with the crowd tonight…” Shairmaine muttered under her breath to Denny Ann, her lips barely parting as she maintained her rigid pageant smile.

“Don’t you dare expose the fact that we are communicating, just keep smiling for the cameras!” Denny Ann whispered back fiercely, her posture locked in flawless grace.

“Now, step forward… Candidate Number 10. And a massive congratulations to Candidate Number 9! You are our newly minted Miss International 2020!” Mother Agnes declared triumphantly.

A cascade of vibrant, multi-colored confetti erupted across the stage from overhead cannons while the audience burst into thunderous applause—yet a closer inspection revealed that the spectators’ faces were entirely blank, their eyes completely dead and mechanical like unblinking dolls.

With tears of simulated joy glistening in her eyes, Shairmaine stepped forward to claim her supposed victory. But just as Mother Agnes raised the heavy, ornate crown to place it upon her head, Denny Ann intentionally lost her footing, executing a calculated dive that forcefully shoved Shairmaine out of harm’s way as both women crashed hard onto the polished wooden floor!

This was no accident—it was a meticulously orchestrated maneuver. They had unmasked the conspiracy hours earlier when David utilized his microscopic android reconnaissance flies to intercept and record a clandestine meeting among the judges.

(Flashback)

“What do your instincts say, Lucy? I need Venus to take that crown,” Mother Agnes instructed her accomplice in hushed tones. “But remember the parameters of our master plan, Agnes. I demand that Samantha girl (Shairmaine) receive the title instead. She is far more malleable and chemically synchronized for the Black Dragon’s ultimate objective,” the other woman replied coldly. (End of Flashback)

“Oh, my absolute apologies, Samantha! I completely lost my balance!” Denny Ann apologized profusely, her voice dripping with false humility as she scrambled to pick up the fallen crown from the floor.

What genuinely shocked Shairmaine, however, was the absolute lack of human reaction from the surrounding crowd; they remained frozen in their stiff, unblinking postures, smiling mechanically without a shred of genuine emotion.

“It is quite alright, Venus. Hand the crown over to me at once,” Mother Agnes ordered coldly, her hand extending with unnatural rigidity to snatch the artifact back. Both girls rose smoothly to their feet, dusting off their gowns.

RETURN TO CED’S LABORATORY…

As Ced and Cedrick watched the high-definition monitor in stunned silence, the video timeline progressed forward, finally revealing the face of the operative who had accompanied the Black Dragon thugs during the assassination and abduction of Georgina.

“You made a fatal, catastrophic miscalculation, Georgina! You ultimately fell straight into your own trap. True to form, you have always been hopelessly small-minded!” screamed the woman holding a bruised and battered Georgina hostage.

“You… you were the internal spy inside the MIB all along?! Why on earth would you betray us and align yourself with the Black Dragon?!” Georgina wept openly on screen, blood streaming down her face.

“Sister? Did you ever, for a single second in your life, treat me as your true, biological equal? Of course you didn’t! It was always Georgina this, brilliant Georgina that, stealing every single spotlight until I grew utterly sick to my stomach! Right from the very beginning back with our parents… do you want to know the real reason why mother died? It wasn’t some tragic accident tumbling down the stairs; I was the one who pushed her with my own hands out of pure, unadulterated hatred!” the woman confessed with a twisted, manic grin.

“You monstrous, heartless bitch! You will pay for every single atrocity you have committed!” Georgina roared back, her voice breaking through her pain.

“Is it my fault I was nothing more than an illegitimate child?! So bid your final farewell, Georgina! And you men, strip the watch from her corpse the moment she stops breathing. Mr. Rodriguez requires it immediately for the core grid!” the traitorous woman commanded coldly before executing Georgina with a point-blank shot to the head.

The voice was unmistakably familiar. The face was hauntingly recognizable—the traitorous agent who had murdered Georgina and sold out the MIB was none other than Rita herself.

End of Video.

Dead silence suffocated the entire laboratory. Slowly, mechanically, both Ced and Cedrick turned their heads toward the automated entrance just as Rita stepped gracefully through the sliding doors, a warm, innocent smile playing across her lips.

“You summoned me, Ced? What is it?” Rita inquired cheerfully as she strolled into the room.

The second Rita closed the distance, Ced lunged forward with blinding speed, delivering a devastating, full-force slap across her face!

“How dare you, Rita?!” Ced screamed, his voice trembling with a lethal mixture of grief and uncontainable rage as his shaking finger pointed directly at the frozen monitor.

EPISODE XX: THE REVELATION (PART I)

ON THE BEAUTY CONTEST STAGE

Just as Mother Agnes was about to lower the heavy crown onto Shairmaine’s head, the entire venue plunged into absolute, pitch-black darkness as the building’s main power grid was abruptly severed.

“What on earth? Why did a sudden brownout happen?!” the remaining candidates shrieked in unison, their voices echoing frantically across the darkened stage.

Amidst the swirling shadows and confusion, Shairmaine seized the fleeting window of opportunity. Moving with blinding speed, her fingers slipped behind the ornate framework of the crown, deftly locating and prying loose the hidden mind-control micro-device embedded within its core.

“What is happening?! Why are the lights out?!” Mother Agnes roared furiously from the wings of the stage.

Moments later, the emergency stage lights flickered back to life, casting a harsh, clinical glow over the area. But Shairmaine and Denny Ann froze in absolute horror as Mr. Henry Rodriguez strode onto the platform, accompanied by a mysterious, cold-eyed woman who observed them like a hawk from behind.

“Mr. Rodriguez?!” Shairmaine gasped, her eyes widening in sheer disbelief.

Denny Ann instantly grabbed her teammate’s arm, whispering urgently, “Confirmed… he really is the mastermind behind all of this.”

“Mr. Rodriguez, we secured the crown! Look, I’m wearing it!” Shairmaine instantly pivoted, feigning enthusiastic compliance as she held the crown up high to capture his attention.

As Mr. Rodriguez closed the distance between them, he began to clap slowly, a mocking, cruel sound echoed by the woman beside him. “Good job, agents… the MIB will honor your success. But let me ask you… did you seriously believe you would walk out of this place alive?” Mr. Rodriguez sneered, his smile chilling.

“Don’t you dare lay a finger on my friends! Aren’t you after me anyway? And this watch!” Denny Ann shouted defiantly, raising her wrist to thrust the high-tech timepiece into his line of sight.

“Yes, that exact device is our primary objective! And we can never truly extract it from your system while you are still breathing,” Mr. Rodriguez replied coldly.

“In short, you need to die right here, right now,” the mysterious woman added flatly.

“Just who on earth are you really? When Miss Rita finds out about this, your authority within the MIB will be completely stripped away!” Denny Ann fired back, refusing to cower.

“Rita? Don’t you know? She is my co-founder in the Black Dragon!” Mr. Rodriguez retorted with a laugh, leveling his sidearm straight at Denny Ann’s forehead.

INSIDE CED’S LABORATORY…

“Rita has escaped! What do we do now?!” Cedrick panicked, his fingers flying across the terminal keyboards in a desperate blur.

“We don’t have time to chase her right now; our absolute priority is saving the kids! I’ve already dispatched final operational protocols to David. Come on, let’s track them down at the venue!” Ced ordered sharply.

“Call for emergency backup immediately and transmit that surveillance file straight to headquarters so both of them face a firing squad. Madam Ruby Jane will throw a fit when she finds out about this betrayal!” Cedrick urged as they bolted toward the lab’s private elevator.

Meanwhile, David and Shairmaine were frantically raiding the armory for high-tech tactical gear, executing Ced’s rapid-deployment orders.

“I still can’t believe everything we went through was a meticulously scripted lie orchestrated by our own superiors. Bloody hell!” David cursed furiously, slamming a fresh magazine into his rifle.

“Calm down, David! Move your feet before it’s too late for them,” Shairmaine snapped back, rushing toward the exit.

RETURN TO THE BEAUTY CONTEST STAGE…

“While we were training you, we were already engineering a backdoor to hack the watch’s telemetry via a brain-link interface. But unfortunately for you, you have to flatline before we can surgically extract the watch from your body!” Mr. Rodriguez threatened, his patience wearing thin.

“You monsters!” Denny Ann screamed.

Before they could close in, a familiar young man in his early twenties leaped onto the stage—a face that delivered yet another devastating shock to Denny Ann’s system.

“Sir Derek… you too?” Denny Ann stammered, staring at the young man in profound betrayal.

“Hi, Kayla… so that’s why you weren’t at the office, because you were busy here showing off your charms in a beauty pageant,” Derek smirked coldly.

Amidst the suffocating tension, a deafening gunshot cracked through the auditorium—and the bullet tore straight into Denny Ann’s shoulder!

“No, Violet!” Shairmaine shrieked, diving forward to catch her collapsing friend.

“Get out of here, Shairmaine! Take Marie and run, now!” Denny Ann pleaded, clutching her bleeding arm as pain washed over her face.

“No! We are a team, we fight and bleed as one!” Shairmaine countered fiercely. She whipped out her sidearm with deadly precision and aimed it directly toward the muzzle flash in the shadows.

From the darkened corner of the stage, Rita emerged, holding a smoking pistol as she strolled forward with a sickening grin.

“Hello, Violet dear… are you holding up alright?” she mocked sweetly.

“Now I understand… back at the mall, all of that was just a staged performance! Those thugs David spotted on the monitor were your mercenaries all along!” Denny Ann yelled through her tears.

“Yes, dear! You were always far too easy to manipulate and play with!” Rita laughed, lunging forward to grab a handful of Denny Ann’s hair and yank her head back.

“Miss Rita, why are you doing this?! Let go of Violet, or I will blow your brains all over this stage!” Shairmaine threatened, her gun locked squarely on Rita’s chest.

“Seriously? Shairmaine Fernandez—the bitter girl who spent every waking moment seething with jealousy over Violet—is now playing hero to her mortal enemy? Why don’t you switch sides instead? Join our family, right, Mr. Rodriguez?” Rita cackled, glancing toward her superior.

“No! Stay away from her!” Shairmaine screamed, shielding the wounded Denny Ann with her own body.

“This is an absolute waste of time. Derek, execute that woman! Isn’t she the root cause of why your precious past love interest died?” the woman beside Mr. Rodriguez barked.

“What?! I never murdered anyone in my life!” Denny Ann defended herself, struggling to stand, but Shairmaine held her back.

“We need to get out of here, Violet! We’ll come back for them!” Shairmaine yelled, jabbing the home-teleport button on her tactical suit sleeve—only for the device to spark, flicker, and die out completely.

“Oh, darling! That suit is completely useless now. Because I successfully crashed our office mainframe and deactivated every network node. So you get to keep Violet company down to her final breath. Don’t worry, you’re next on the list!” Rita grinned maliciously.

As Rita and Derek raised their weapons in unison to execute Denny Ann, a frantic voice pierced the backstage chaos.

“My remote control is missing!” Mother Agnes shrieked, frantically tearing through the contents of her designer handbag in absolute panic.

“What?! You clumsy old fool, go find it!” Mr. Henry Rodriguez snapped in deep irritation.

“Stop calling her Violet, Ann Marie, or Kayla… Because her true, original name is Denny Ann Nemenzo!” Rita screamed, her finger tightening on the trigger.

Before Rita’s gun could spit fire, Shairmaine shoved Denny Ann violently out of the line of fire—taking the high-velocity bullet square in her own chest!

“Noooo! Shairmaine! Noooo!” Denny Ann wept, a blood-curdling scream tearing from her throat as she watched her teammate collapse onto the wooden floor.

As Denny Ann wept over fallen blood, a gentle hand touched the back of her neck, deftly releasing and removing a tiny micro-chip embedded under her skin. When she jerked her head up in shock, she found herself staring into a familiar pair of eyes.

“Hi?” the young man smiled softly down at her.

“Christian?! How… why are you here?” Denny Ann choked out.

“We knew your true identity all along, Denny Ann. Miss Ced briefed us on everything. When I saw Miss Rita spike your drink with that chemical… that drug was the exact reason your memories were systematically erased!” Christian confessed, before coughing violently as blood spilled from his own lips.

“You will pay for every single soul you’ve destroyed! Especially you, Rita!” Denny Ann raged, scrambling to her feet to charge at the traitor, but Derek intercepted her, firing his weapon point-blank.

“For my beloved…” Derek whispered, his eyes locked onto Denny Ann.

Before the bullet could find its mark, every head snapped toward the rear of the stage as a familiar, authoritative voice rang out from the shadows:

“I am Kayla Mendoza, Kent Sanchez’s executive assistant…” announced a young woman who looked precisely, down to the last detail, like Denny Ann.

Trailing right behind her from the opposite wing, another woman stepped forward, declaring, “And I am Ann Marie Cervantes, the resident singer at Miss Helen Cervantes’s lounge!”

Both women raised their sidearms simultaneously, leveling their barrels straight at Derek and Rita. Meanwhile, Mr. Rodriguez and his syndicate subordinates watched the unfolding spectacle comfortably from the audience seats alongside Mother Agnes.

“Good show!” Mr. Rodriguez praised smoothly.

“I’d expect nothing less! Long live the Black Dragon!” Mother Agnes cheered delightedly.

Spotting the newcomers, Derek froze in sheer psychological paralysis, his eyes darting to the woman claiming to be Kayla Mendoza—who wore the distinct, unmistakable octagon pendant resting against her collarbone.

“What is the meaning of this?! I thought Ann Marie and Kayla were supposed to be the exact same person? Why does the Denny Ann lying on the floor have no pendant, while this one clearly wears it?” Derek demanded, spinning around in utter confusion.

“Those are just lackeys utilizing MIB Identity Chips to scramble our intelligence!” Rita hissed, her eyes narrowing dangerously at the impostor Ann Marie.

“Did our little plot twist catch you off guard?” the fake Kayla taunted with a smirk.

“Just who in God’s name are you?! Reveal yourself!” Rita screamed.

Slowly, hesitantly, Derek stepped forward toward the fake Kayla, tears trembling and blurring his vision.

“Meaning, Rek… I am not dead!” the woman announced. With a sharp tug, she ripped the pendant from her neck and hurled it violently onto the floor, her pistol still locked steadily on Derek’s chest.

“David? I know it’s you… I’m so sorry, I had no idea!” Derek sobbed, completely breaking down where he stood.

EPISODE XXI: THE REVELATION (PART II)

ON THE BEAUTY CONTEST STAGE

“Who are you? Are you Marie?!” Rita shrieked furiously, clutching her bleeding side as she glared at the woman who had previously posed as Ann Marie.

“Of course not!” the woman retorted with a cold sneer, before executing a lightning-fast, bone-crushing roundhouse kick straight to Rita’s jaw. The sheer impact hurled Rita backward through the air, sending her crashing hard onto the floor where she collapsed into immediate, dead unconsciousness.

Meanwhile, sitting comfortably in the audience section, Mother Agnes and Mr. Rodriguez watched the escalating chaos with amused detachment.

“This is getting deliciously intense… and utterly perfect!” Mother Agnes cackled softly.

“Yes, but we need to wrap this up. If we let this plot drag on any longer, far too many useless side characters and rookie protagonists are going to clutter the script!” Mr. Rodriguez muttered in mounting irritation, snapping the slide of his sidearm back and leveling a lethal barrel straight at Denny Ann.

“Can you even hit a target from all the way back there?” Mother Agnes asked skeptically.

“I used to be an MIB sniper, my dear; nothing is impossible! Watch and learn,” Mr. Rodriguez boasted arrogantly before squeezing the caliber .45 trigger.

BANG!

A deafening, thunderous gunshot tore through the auditorium. In the blink of an eye, Denny Ann buckled and dropped heavily onto the dusty stage floor.

“Noooo! Violet!” the fake Ann Marie screamed in unadulterated panic.

Simultaneously, Marie darted forward clutching a high-tech master remote control, mercilessly smashing and crushing it into pieces right before the eyes of the Black Dragon syndicate.

“Marie, get them out of here, now!” the fake Kayla yelled, keeping her pistol locked steadily on Derek.

“I won’t let you!” Derek roared, making a desperate lunge to intercept, but the fake Kayla instantly threw herself directly into the line of fire to absorb the bullet.

“Sorry… wait, why on earth did you take that hit for me?” Derek gasped in shock, wide-eyed as he watched Kayla bleed.

“Because I will never, ever forgive you, you absolute idiot!” Kayla sobbed fiercely, her hands flying to her neck to rip the MIB Identity Chip free.

As the device detached, her features and natural voice shifted instantly. Derek’s breath caught in his throat. “David?!”

“Bad news, guys! All of our tactical hardware is dead in the water due to the enemy’s signal jammer. Violet and Christian are severely wounded… what do we do now?!” Marie reported to David, her voice shaking with panic.

“Shairmaine, do you have any brilliant plays left?!” David barked at their teammate—who had just ripped off her own identity chip to reveal her true face.

“Are you still breathing, Ann—wait, Violet, or whatever your real name is? Can you still stand?!” Shairmaine demanded urgently, rushing over to support the bleeding Denny Ann.

“Sha… Shairmaine?!” Denny Ann whispered weakly, leaning her weight against the shoulder of her former mortal enemy.

“Did you not hear my question? Can you run with us right now?!” Shairmaine pressed harder.

“Ye… yes! But why… why are you helping me?” Denny Ann stammered through waves of agony.

“All I can say is we need to move right now because Rita is starting to regain consciousness! Besides… you were never my true enemy, Violet! This was all part of our master plan coordinated directly with Miss Ced!” Shairmaine explained rapidly.

“Shairmaine, move!” David shouted, struggling to support Christian and Marie, both of whom were gasping for air.

“Violet, use the crown to escape this place! Do you remember what David told us about the crown’s true, primordial power?” Shairmaine urged, pressing the artifact into Denny Ann’s trembling hands.

“Yes, but what about the mind-control hardware embedded in it?!” Denny Ann cried out, wincing as her injuries flared.

“Do you trust me?” Shairmaine asked, her eyes locking onto hers with fierce conviction.

“Yes…” Denny Ann breathed.

Across the stage, Derek’s mother barked orders at her personal enforcers. “Capture every single one of them! Move!”

“Mom, please don’t hurt them! This was never part of our plan, all we needed was the watch!” Derek pleaded frantically with his own mother.

“I care nothing for your pathetic excuses, Derek! What is the matter, are you turning coward on us? Remember, these MIB agents are the exact vermin who murdered Fredo years ago! It is time to collect our blood debt!” Derek’s mother screamed.

“They didn’t kill Fredo, corrupt MIB officials did!” Derek roared back in defiance, throwing himself directly in front of his mother’s mercenaries to block their path. “Run, now! Use this!” he shouted, hurling an emergency teleportation device onto the floor near David’s feet, which David snatched up instantly.

AT THE SANCHEZ MANSION…

Miles away, amid the unfolding massacre, Kent suddenly froze in his tracks as Denny Ann’s favorite framed photograph slipped from the living room wall, shattering against the hardwood floor.

“Denny Ann…?” he whispered, dropping hurriedly to his knees to gather the broken glass and the fallen picture.

BACK ON THE STAGE…

“Put it on! Visualize wings on your back and soar straight out of this hellhole. Leave these bastards to us, hurry!” Shairmaine commanded.

Denny Ann jammed the crown onto her head, squeezed her eyes shut, and poured every ounce of her willpower into the artifact. Within seconds, a blinding, ethereal light erupted from her skin, transforming her majestic form into a magnificent, radiant eagle with glowing wings!

“Noooo! Denny Ann is escaping! Shoot that bird down!” Mr. Rodriguez shrieked in unbridled rage.

“I will not let her fly away!” Rita roared, stumbling back to her feet as she emptied her pistol wildly into the sky.

Using the device tossed by Derek, David, Shairmaine, Christian, and Marie vanished simultaneously into a shimmering digital portal.

“We are going to have a very long conversation after this, Derek Michael Sanchez!” his mother snarled.

“What have you done, Derek?! You threw away your entire tactical training in the US just for that lowlife! I can’t believe this…” Mr. Henry Rodriguez cursed violently, before landing a brutal, bone-rattling punch straight across Derek’s face.

OUTSIDE THE VENUE…

Shairmaine and David successfully materialized outside alongside the wounded Christian and Marie, while Denny Ann soared gracefully through the night sky in her majestic avian form.

“We made it past the perimeter. But with our tech fried, we need a vehicle to put serious distance between us and the syndicate,” David panted, supporting Christian, whose wound was worsening.

“I can walk, David. Just focus on Chris, his injury is much worse,” Marie insisted bravely.

“Right,” David nodded.

“What about Violet?” Christian asked anxiously.

“Don’t worry, Christian, she’ll pull through. Is this Violet we’re talking about? She’s a born survivor! But right now, we need a safehouse. I can’t get a signal to Miss Ced!” Shairmaine cursed, fruitlessly attempting to ping headquarters.

Inside MIB headquarters, Ced and Cedrick were currently broadcasting Georgina’s final, damning surveillance log directly to the supreme leader of the organization.

“Georgina was brilliant, but she should never have gambled her life so recklessly. We must apprehend Rodriguez and Rita before this network fractures entirely,” Madam Helen ordered gravely.

“Madam Helen, my gut tells me Denny Ann and the kids are in mortal peril right now,” Ced reported anxiously.

“Then deploy immediately to the venue. My strike team and I will rendezvous with you on site,” Madam Helen replied.

“Yes, Madam!” Ced saluted sharply before moving out.

AT THE SANCHEZ MANSION…

Moments later, the heavy front doors swung open to reveal David, Shairmaine, Marie, and a bleeding Christian stumbling into the foyer.

“Who the hell are you people?! And how on earth did you breach this estate without tripping the alarms?!” Kent gasped in pure shock, stumbling backward.

“Hi… how’s it going, best friend?” David breathed out heavily, clutching his bloodied arm.

“D-David?! Is that really you? Are you a ghost or what?! Holy mother of—” Kent stammered, shaking violently from sheer disbelief.

“I’m no ghost, bff, I’m standing right here in the flesh! But for heaven’s sake, can you please let us inside? I need to explain everything that’s happened… especially the truth about Denny Ann,” David pleaded.

EPISODE XXII: THE TRUTH REVEALED

THE PRELUDE… Chaos had erupted, a whirlwind of panic and gunfire. Amidst the swirling confusion of betrayals and secrets, Derek stood firm, defying the very shadows he once served, shielding Denny Ann’s companions so they could escape their impending doom. But to truly liberate Denny Ann from the clutches of those who hunted her, a harrowing sacrifice was demanded.

“Do you trust me, Violet? This is the only way for you to vanish. They cannot have that watch—you must protect it at all costs,” Shairmaine whispered, her voice laced with an intensity that demanded obedience. She pressed the enigmatic, glowing crown into Denny Ann’s hands.

Without a second of hesitation, Denny Ann donned the crown. In an instant, the world dissolved into a blinding, ethereal light. She didn’t just move; she ascended. Her silhouette transformed into that of a majestic, powerful eagle, soaring high into the sky—a spirit finally broken free from the cage of malevolence.

THE CONTINUATION… Once they reached the sanctuary of their safe house, David exhaled a ragged breath, the adrenaline slowly giving way to the cold, hard weight of reality. He began the unraveling—detailing every layer of their mission, from its inception to this bloody present.

“So, you’re saying… you’re secret agents?” Kent asked, his voice barely a whisper, his eyes wide with a mixture of shock and dawning horror as he looked at David.

“Something like that,” David replied with a weary, cynical smirk, his face etched with the exhaustion of a thousand battles.

“David, Chris is fading! He needs a surgeon, now!” Marie screamed, her hands stained with crimson as she desperately applied pressure to Christian’s grievous wounds. “My medical training isn’t enough; the bullets have to come out!”

“Stand back,” Kent commanded, his professional mask sliding into place. “I was a surgeon in San Diego before all of this. Follow me—my infirmary is fully equipped.”

They hauled Christian up, rushing toward the medical bay, their footsteps echoing with the frantic urgency of life and death.

Meanwhile, Ced and Cedrick arrived at the facility where the massacre had taken place, only to find a tomb of silence. The air was heavy with the scent of ozone and iron, broken only by the crunch of shattered glass beneath their boots.

“Doc,” one of the men reported, his grip tight on a struggling, snarling Rita. “We found her—along with the rest of the Black Dragon remnants.”

Despite her capture, a twisted, jagged smile danced on Rita’s lips. “You’re too late! Denny Ann is dead! You’ll never defeat us! Long live the Black Dragon!”

“Lock her up,” Ced ordered, his voice as cold as ice, his eyes scanning the carnage for any sign of betrayal.

THE ORIGIN OF EVERYTHING… The memory flooded back, pulling them into the dark, suffocating corridors of the old MIB Headquarters.

“I have to retrieve that watch! I won’t let Mr. Rodriguez weaponize it for his own twisted ends!” Georgina spat, her fingers gripping a confidential folder as if it were a lifeline.

She moved with surgical precision, navigating toward the coordinates of the watch. “Camera flies, activate!” she whispered. Three micro-robotic flies took flight, buzzing silently through the air as she slipped into the heart of an abandoned warehouse.

“I’m inside the Black Dragon’s cache,” she whispered into her communicator, ducking behind towering crates of stolen weaponry. “I have proof. Mr. Rodriguez is not just a mole; he is the Black Dragon.”

Click.

The cold, biting steel of a gun barrel pressed against the nape of her neck.

Georgina didn’t flinch. She raised her hands slowly, then in a blur of motion, she spun, delivering a brutal kick to her captor’s knee before deploying a laser-tipped lipstick at the advancing shadows.

“Seriously? Four men against one woman? Come on, boys, is that the best you’ve got?” she challenged, her voice dripping with lethal grace as she engaged them.

She was a ghost of the MIB, a legend of strength. But then, the silence was shattered by a deafening crack.

Bang!

Georgina froze. She reached for her left shoulder, her fingers coming away slick with warmth. From the darkness, a figure emerged, her face a sickening mirror of Georgina’s own.

“Rita? Is that you?” Georgina wheezed, her vision fraying at the edges.

“Surprised, sister?” Rita sneered, closing the distance between them.

“You? How… how could this be?”

“Oh, sister. Henry Rodriguez and I are the true founders of the Black Dragon. And that bullet? It’s laced with a toxin that will shut down your heart in minutes. You’re already a corpse walking. Now, give me what I came for.” Rita held up the radiant watch, watching it gleam in the dim light.

“You… you didn’t account for the antidote,” Georgina gasped, summoning the last of her strength to deliver a crushing blow to Rita’s jaw. She snatched the watch back and bolted, gunfire erupting behind her.

“Get her! Rodriguez needs that watch!” Rita shrieked, her voice frantic.

They cornered her, their shadows looming over her broken form. “No! Why did you put it on?!” Rita wailed in panic as she saw the watch fused to Georgina’s wrist. “Don’t you know? It’s locked to the wearer’s life force! It can only be removed when you’re dead!”

“I know,” Georgina defied, leveling her gun at Rita. “So go ahead. Do it.”

Before Rita could act, Mr. Henry Rodriguez stepped from the gloom and mercilessly fired a shot into Georgina’s back.

“Cowards,” Georgina coughed, collapsing onto the cold concrete, the light in her eyes fading. “Only cowards shoot a soldier in the back.”

“What have you done, Rita?!” Rodriguez roared, turning on his protégé. “If she dies, the security system locks the watch forever!”

CUT TO… THE SANCHEZ MANSION Inside the sterile, tense atmosphere of the infirmary, Kent began the life-saving surgery, Marie standing by as his trembling assistant.

“Scalpel,” Kent commanded, his eyes fixed on the life-sustaining work before him.

Outside, the door swung open, and Derek arrived, accompanied by a frantic Helen Grace.

“Who are you people? Where is my brother?” Helen Grace demanded, her eyes widening as she spotted Shairmaine and David in the living room.

“Helen Grace? Is that really you?” David’s face softened, a spark of pure, unadulterated joy piercing through his weariness.

“Kuya David?! You’re alive!” She surged forward, throwing her arms around him in a tight embrace.

“Ah! Careful—the wound!” David groaned as she accidentally pressed against his side.

“Sorry! Wait, Kuya, who is this?” she asked, gesturing toward Derek, who stood in the corner, staring at David with a haunting, shattered expression.

“That,” David growled, his eyes hardening into flint, “is the criminal who tried to kill me.”

“David, wait! It was an accident! You stepped into the line of fire!” Derek pleaded, desperate for a shred of understanding.

“I warned you, Derek!” David shouted, his hand twitching toward his sidearm.

Shairmaine intervened, quickly pulling Helen Grace toward the kitchen. “Let’s go, girl. Let the boys settle this themselves,” she muttered, casting a wary glance back at the escalating tension.

BACK TO THE FLASHBACK… THE FINAL TRAGEDY “You never saw me as your own! You and your mother… you stole everything! Your mother ensnared my father, and what happened? You were the golden child, and I? I was sold into their filth, treated like a comfort woman for his gambling cronies!” Rita screamed, her entire body shaking with the weight of years of trauma.

“I didn’t know, Rita! Please, I’m your sister! Why didn’t you come to me? Why didn’t you tell Father?” Georgina sobbed, her lifeblood pooling around her.

“And it wasn’t an accident,” Rita whispered, a demonic, chilling laugh bubbling up from her throat. “Tita didn’t fall. I pushed her.”

“You monster… you’ll pay for this!”

But it was over. Rita leveled the gun, and a final, thunderous shot echoed through the room, silencing Georgina’s protests forever.

“Get rid of her! Dump the body, and make sure you get that watch!” Rita commanded.

“Wait,” Mr. Rodriguez interrupted, his voice devoid of empathy. “I’m the only one who can bypass the security. I’ll handle the disposal myself.”

(To be continued…)

EPISODE XXIII: THE WRIST WATCH

THE PRELUDE… The events had cascaded like a crumbling wall when Ced and Cedrick stormed the facility. They were too late to intercept Denny Ann’s group, but their sweep of the area wasn’t in vain—they managed to corner the defiant, snarling Rita.

“You’re too late!” Rita shrieked, her laughter echoing with a manic, triumphant edge even as the cold steel of the handcuffs bit into her wrists. “Denny Ann is dead! You’ll never find her!”

“Lock her up,” Ced ordered, his voice devoid of warmth, his eyes drilling into her with icy contempt.

“But, Pandak,” Cedrick whispered, his brow furrowed with deep-seated concern, “where are David and Shairmaine?”

“I pray they are safe,” Ced replied, his jaw tight. “But I won’t believe Denny Ann is gone—not until I see her with my own eyes.”

“Perhaps they managed to spirit her away,” Cedrick offered, a sliver of hope in his voice.

“I hope so,” Ced murmured, a prayer caught in his throat.

Meanwhile, within the opulent, silent halls of the Sanchez Mansion, Kent and Marie were locked in a battle against time, the surgical lights focused on the life hanging by a thread within Christian. In another wing of the estate, the long-broken bond between David and Derek was being tested in the crucible of their reunion.

THE CONTINUATION… In the hushed, sterile room of the Sanchez mansion, the air between the two men crackled with residual hostility.

“I can’t do this, David! I spent years scouring every corner of this earth for you, and this is our first meeting? A disaster?” Derek’s voice cracked, not from weakness, but from the raw frustration of years of unanswered questions. He stared into David’s eyes, searching for the friend who had been lost to the darkness.

“FYI, Derek,” David retorted, his tone like sharpened glass, “did I ever ask you to look for me?” He arched an eyebrow, his defenses reinforced by years of survival, his mind closed to any plea for reconciliation.

“Mr. Rodriguez told me you died with Denny Ann!” Derek confessed, his voice dropping as he tried to throttle his own rising fury. “I thought you sacrificed your life for her! That’s why I was so obsessed with recovering that watch—I thought it was the only thing left of you.”

“The watch… right!” David’s eyes sharpened. A sudden surge of purpose eclipsed his anger. He pivoted sharply, diving toward his bag on the floor.

“What are you doing?” Derek demanded, confused.

“I’m finding her,” David grunted, his fingers flying across his laptop keyboard. “She’s badly hurt—just like Christian. I need to track her using the watch’s signal.”

“Wait… if the watch has a tracker, that means you can find Denny Ann too!” Derek’s realization was visceral.

“Exactly. That’s why I have to get there first. And—Bingo! I have it!” David’s voice turned deadly serious as the screen flickered to life, a glowing red pulse marking the location on the map.

“I’m going with you!” Derek insisted, his grip on David’s arm iron-clad.

“No!” David snapped, tearing his arm away with violent intensity. “I work alone!”

FLASHBACK: GEORGINA’S STORY (CONTINUATION) As the van bounced over the uneven road, Georgina drifted back into consciousness. Her eyelids were heavy, crusted with dried blood, but she forced them open to survey the carnage.

“Mr. Rodriguez?” she wheezed, her voice a brittle thread.

“Still breathing?!” Rodriguez bellowed, his face twisting into a mask of pure hate. He shoved his gun toward her. “You stubborn bitch, you just won’t die!”

In that heartbeat of life and death, before Rodriguez could squeeze the trigger, Georgina summoned a primal burst of strength, kicking the guard beside her. The van swerved violently; Rodriguez’s shot went wide, striking his own driver.

The vehicle spun out of control, slamming into a massive, ancient tree on the side of the desolate road.

By pure, terrifying coincidence, Denny Ann had been walking home from school. “Oh my God? What was that?” she gasped, her hands flying to her mouth.

From the safety of the brush, she watched as four men crawled out of the mangled van, dragging a bloodied woman behind them. “Lord, please,” she whispered, her body pressing into the damp earth. “I’m not ready to be a star witness—or to die!”

She watched in disbelief as Georgina fought back. Despite being on the brink of death, she moved like a ghost, her martial arts swift and lethal, dismantling her attackers one by one.

“Is that all you’ve got?” Georgina snarled, though she was swaying on her feet.

But then Rodriguez stepped from the wreck. He didn’t just shoot her; he beat her into the earth.

Denny Ann trembled as Georgina fell, her face coming to rest mere inches from where she was hiding.

“Wrist watch, activate!” Rodriguez roared, clawing at the device on Georgina’s wrist. It remained dark, lifeless. “This woman won’t die!”

“Boss, the police are tracking us! Ced is on our trail!” a guard shouted, panicked. “We have to move! We can take the watch once she’s in the morgue!”

“Fine. Let’s go!” Rodriguez spat, firing one last, malicious shot into Georgina before fleeing.

When the dust settled, Denny Ann scrambled from the grass, cradling the dying agent. “Miss, stay with me! I’m calling for help!”

“No time,” Georgina gasped, her hand guiding Denny Ann to the watch. “You… you must protect this.”

“But the man said it only comes off when you’re dead!” Denny Ann sobbed.

“Yes… but not the authorization to… to transfer the vessel,” Georgina whispered, her eyes fluttering shut for the final time.

(End of Flashback)

BACK TO THE PRESENT… Kent and Marie emerged from the infirmary, the surgery a success. Christian’s eyes fluttered open.

“He’s stable,” Kent said, wiping sweat from his brow. “Where’s David?”

“He went to find Denny Ann,” Helen Grace explained. “With Derek.”

“I should have gone,” Kent muttered, frustrated.

“No, Doc,” Marie said, removing her mask. “David moves better alone. Though I hope he and your brother don’t kill each other.”

At the coordinates, David scanned the dark, foreboding terrain, his gun drawn.

“You stay here,” David commanded Derek.

“And let you face the Black Dragon alone? After what I did?” Derek stepped forward, desperate for redemption.

“I haven’t forgotten you shot me!” David growled, ready to strike.

But Derek didn’t fight back. In a sudden, vulnerable movement, he caught David’s fist and pulled him into a desperate, crushing embrace. “I missed you… please, David. Stop being angry.”

David went rigid, his face turning an indignant shade of crimson as he pushed his old friend away. “Let go of me, Derek! I have a job to do!”

EPISODE XXIV: THE CONVERGENCE OF PAST AND FUTURE

THE PRELUDE… Chaos had reigned when Derek and David finally located Denny Ann. Meanwhile, within the sanctuary of the Sanchez mansion, Christian was clawing his way back from the edge of the abyss, his strength restored under the watchful care of Kent and Marie.

“He’s okay now; he just needs rest,” Kent said, wiping his hands, before his brow furrowed. “By the way, where is David? And your brother Derek—where are they?”

“The two of them went chasing after Denny Ann,” Shairmaine answered with a sharp, sarcastic arch of her eyebrow. “Don’t worry, Mr. Sanchez, our friend is more than capable of handling your brother—a brother who just happens to be a card-carrying member of the Black Dragon!”

THE CONTINUATION… “Oh my God! Denny Ann… wake up, sis!” David cried out, panic sharpening his voice as he gently tapped the pale, lifeless cheek of his friend.

“She’s covered in wounds, David! We have to get her to Kent—he’s the only one who can save her,” Derek urged, his eyes wide with frantic desperation.

“You’re right…” David agreed. But before he could scoop the fragile girl into his arms, a chilling, razor-sharp voice cut through the damp air.

“Where do you think you’re dragging that girl?”

Derek’s mother stepped out of the shadows, her face a mask of bitter fury, a sleek firearm leveled dead at David’s chest.

“Mom, seriously?! Are you actually going to shoot me?!” Derek screamed, throwing himself directly into the line of fire to shield David.

“Yes, if you refuse to obey me! I am your mother, and I command you to stop helping these rats!” she snarled.

Simultaneously, Mr. Rodriguez slithered out from the dark periphery, flanked by a squad of heavily armed mercenaries.

“Boy, you’d better listen to your mother! You know how terrifying angry mothers can be,” Rodriguez sneered, a wicked grin stretching across his face.

“Damn it, just stop this… David, save Denny Ann! Get out of here, now!” Derek pleaded, shoving Denny Ann’s limp body toward David.

“What about you?” David shouted back, torn.

“I’ll be fine! Seeing you again… it was worth it,” Derek whispered, offering a heartbreaking, radiant smile amidst the gathering storm.

“Son, what is this madness? Are you… gay ?!” his mother shrieked, her eyes bulging in utter disbelief.

“Yes, Mom, I love him! Now let him go!” Derek roared, defiant and unyielding.

“Alright, enough with the tragic melodrama. Mr. Rodriguez, you’re under arrest!”

A familiar, commanding voice echoed from the rear. It was Ced! Without a shred of hesitation, he jammed the barrel of his service weapon against the back of Mr. Rodriguez’s neck.

“Team, round up the rest of them! Disarm every last one!” Cedrick barked, leading a tactical unit of elite police officers who swarmed the clearing, slapping steel cuffs onto the sputtering criminals.

“Son, you will live to regret this!” Derek’s mother shrieked as she was dragged backward into the dark.

“I love you, Mom! And for the record, if Dad were alive, he would never let you use these filthy, murderous tactics for ‘justice’!” Derek shouted after her, his heart heavy as he watched them hauled away.

“Now, get Violet to the medical lab so I can patch her up,” Ced commanded his subordinates.

In a synchronized sweep across the city, Ced and Cedrick’s forces dismantled the remaining sleeper cells of the Black Dragon buried deep within the MIB.

“Miss Ced, you know me! I’m not with the Black Dragon!” a woman wailed as she was dragged away, thrashing wildly.

“Lock her up. And wipe her memories of the MIB—it’s the only mercy she deserves,” Ced ordered coldly.

FIVE MONTHS LATER… The grand headquarters of the MIB gleamed under a constellation of lights, hosting a momentous awards ceremony dedicated to Denny Ann’s team for dismantling the mafia from within. Above all, they honored a ghost—a true hero who had paid the ultimate price for the truth: Georgina “Bleu” Flores.

“I am Helen Cervantes, founder of the MIB. I present this honor to our bravest agents… and most importantly, to the woman we will never forget—our friend, our sister, and a brilliant mentor: Miss Georgina ‘Bleu’ Flores. This is for you,” Helen declared, her voice cracking with emotion as she hoisted the heavy trophy high.

Offstage, a knot of anxiety gripped David, Marie, Shairmaine, and Christian as they realized one vital piece of the puzzle was missing.

“Where on earth is Violet?” Christian muttered under his breath.

“Oh, admit it, you miss her,” Marie teased with a knowing smirk. “Though, honestly, it’s been five months since anyone last saw her.”

“I’m sure she’s off somewhere with Kent…” Christian grumbled, drawing a sharp, murderous glare from David.

“She’s here. The fashionably late queen has arrived,” Shairmaine announced, her eyebrows lifting as the grand double doors swung open.

“May I call Team Violet to the stage? The ones who defied death itself—David, Christian, Marie, and Denny Ann, step up!” Ced’s voice boomed over the microphone, echoing through the packed auditorium.

The group rushed up the stairs, joined by Denny Ann, who had just slipped in.

“Why didn’t you bring Kent?” David whispered as they walked into the blinding lights.

“Oh, he was finishing up some paperwork at the office, but he’s right behind me. Just chill! Wait, where’s Derek?” Denny Ann whispered back.

“He left town last night. But we’re on stage, focus!” David hissed, steadying her as Ced ceremoniously pinned the official MIB badges to their chests.

RECLAIMING A NAME… The moment the celebration concluded, the team hurried straight to the Sanchez Mansion.

“Ate Denny Ann… finally, I caught you!” Helen Grace gasped, sprinting across the foyer.

“What is it, Helen? Is something wrong?” Denny Ann asked, alarmed.

“No, Ate! I have an idea—one that will completely clear your name once and for all!” Helen Grace beamed.

“What kind of idea?” David asked, crossing his arms.

“Do you remember Michelle?”

“Yes…” Denny Ann nodded.

“She’s here now, and you can tell the whole world the absolute truth in front of a camera!” Helen explained excitedly.

“Yes, and besides that, Ma’am, I have connections at a major TV network. We can broadcast your confession nationwide, and Michelle can push the vlog to go viral internationally! The bigger, the better!” Michelle added enthusiastically.

“That’s right, Violet! Besides, you’re still Ann Marie Cervantes, the girl who broke the internet with her heavenly voice,” Marie encouraged, squeezing her hand.

“Go for it, sis! It’s time to reclaim your life. We’ve got your back, no matter what,” David said, pulling her into a fierce, protective hug.

Without an ounce of hesitation, Denny Ann stepped in front of the lens. She laid bare the unvarnished truth—proving to the public that she had never, not once, taken the life of Georgina Flores.

Within hours of Michelle uploading the footage and Zandra airing the exclusive broadcast on national television, the courts could no longer ignore the outcry. The case was formally reopened.

IN THE COURTROOM… “Now, answer the court truthfully. Did you, or did you not, pull the trigger on your own sister, Georgina?” Denny Ann’s lead attorney—none other than Derek—demanded, his voice ringing through the silent hall.

“Y-yes… I killed my sister,” Rita sobbed, her body wracked with tremors as the confession tore out of her.

Days later, the final gavel fell.

“In the case of the People versus Denny Ann Nemenzo… the accused is found not guilty,” the judge read clearly from the crisp white file.

A deafening roar of triumph erupted from the team.

“Finally… we can all go home to our families!” David shouted, scooping Denny Ann up in a dizzying, joyous spin.

“Yes… finally,” Denny Ann whispered, a single tear of pure relief slipping down her cheek as she took her first truly free breath.

EPISODE XXV: THE NEW START

THE PAST The winds of fate had finally shifted for Denny Ann. Her name—once stained and shredded by the cruel blades of suspicion and shadows—had been scrubbed clean, restored by the unwavering loyalty of her friends and allies.

In the hush of the dimly lit room, David pulled her into a grip so tight it felt as though he were anchoring her to reality, terrified that she might vanish into the ether.

“Finally…” David whispered, his cheek pressed against her shoulder, his voice thick with a mixture of relief and exhaustion. “We’re going home. We can finally return to the quiet life we once knew.”

But even amidst the promise of peace, Denny Ann remained still, her gaze fixed on the hollow void of the distance. She let out a long, shuddering sigh, her eyes haunted by a flicker of lingering dread. “There is still one more problem, David…”

David’s brows furrowed, his body tensing against her. “What now?”

THE CONTINUATION “This watch,” Denny Ann began, her fingers trembling slightly as they traced the cold, metallic strap of the peculiar device clinging to her wrist. “I haven’t returned it to the MIB Chamber yet. Madam Helen never demanded it back from me.”

“Oh, great,” David groaned, rubbing the back of his neck in frustration. “Knowing them, they probably think you have to—you know—‘expire’ or brush against the very edge of death just to have this thing removed!”

“That’s exactly what I fear,” she murmured, a sudden resolve hardening in her eyes. “Come, you have to go with me.”

“Where are we going now?” David protested, but it was too late. Her hand had already clamped firmly onto his arm.

“To the MIB!” Denny Ann declared, cutting off his argument. In a heartbeat, the air around them distorted. With a violent pull, they vanished into thin air, leaving behind the chilling, silent kiss of the night.

From the shadows, Marie stood motionless, shaking her head as she watched the empty space where they had stood. “Where on earth are those two running off to now?” she whispered to the wind.

AT MIB HEADQUARTERS Madam Helen was buried in a sea of documents, the rhythmic scratching of her pen the only sound in the office until the air rippled behind her. Two silhouettes materialized out of a veil of thinning smoke.

“Miss Helen!” David called out.

“Good heavens!” The old woman jumped, a hand pressed firmly against her racing heart. “Must you two always appear out of nowhere? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?”

“Ma, I remembered something regarding this watch,” Denny Ann said, her voice cutting through the air, ignoring the older woman’s agitation.

“What is it?” Madam Helen asked, sinking heavily into her swivel chair, struggling to compose herself.

“Miss Rita once mentioned that this watch… it has the ability to manipulate the human mind. I don’t know the exact mechanics, I don’t recall her specific explanation, but… is it truly possible?”

Madam Helen nodded, her expression darkening into something grave. “Yes, Denny Ann. That watch in your hand—if it were to fall into the wrong hands and be harnessed for evil—it could become the most powerful and lethal weapon on the face of the Earth. That is the very reason we kept it locked within the MIB. Why do you ask?”

“Because, Ma… what if we use this watch to find the others?” Denny Ann suggested, her eyes gleaming with a fierce, dangerous determination. “Miss Ced told me once that this wrist watch isn’t one of a kind. There are others. So, what if my team and I set out to hunt them down?”

“Denny Ann, are you crazy?!” David exploded, his face twisting in genuine shock. “How? Where would we even begin to search for such things?”

Before Denny Ann could answer, the office doors swung open with a thunderous bang. Ced stepped in, her hair styled in a sharp new cut, clutching a series of glowing holographic data pads.

“Actually,” Ced announced with a playful, enigmatic smirk, running a hand through her cropped hair, “I am the new Head Mistress of Team Violet. Do you think I would’ve cut my hair this short if I weren’t in charge?”

“In fairness, it suits you. You definitely have the authority, Miss Ced,” David conceded, a grin tugging at his lips despite his confusion.

“Thanks, darling,” Ced winked. “Now, look at this. I’ve extracted data from that watch. When the Martians descended upon our planet, they didn’t just leave behind simple technology. That wrist watch is one of the high-tech artifacts they abandoned here in the Philippines.”

Ced tapped a command, and a massive, shimmering holographic map projected into the center of the room.

“According to this data, there are three primary weapons left behind: the symbols of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The wrist watch belongs to Luzon; there is a Spear for the Visayas; and finally, the legendary Kampilan for Mindanao. Now… what happens when these three weapons are reunited? That is what Cedrick and I are still decoding,” she explained, her voice vibrating with a mixture of thrill and looming peril.

“So, Violet… are you ready for the new mission?” Madam Helen asked, her gaze locking onto Denny Ann’s.

Denny Ann glanced to her side. “What do you think, David?”

Before he could answer, the doors burst open again. Christian, Marie, and Shairmaine strode in, already equipped with an arsenal of new combat gear.

“Let’s take it, Violet,” Christian smirked, his eyes alight with anticipation. “I’ve missed the rush of a good mission.”

“Yes, Violet. And besides,” Shairmaine added, adjusting her collar with an elegant, dismissive gesture, “I’m tired of sitting around doing nothing all day. I’d rather endure you lot, losers as you are, than stay bored!”

“So, what do you think, sis?” David turned to Denny Ann, his earlier fear replaced by the familiar, predatory grin of a warrior. “I’m in!”

“Okay… let’s do it!” Denny Ann replied, her spirit soaring as she looked at her comrades.

MEANWHILE, LATER THAT NIGHT… On the balcony of the vast, sprawling mansion, the weariness was etched deeply into the faces of Derek and Kent as they waited for David and Denny Ann.

Suddenly, a ferocious, unnatural gust of wind whipped across the balcony. A white piece of paper caught Kent squarely in the face.

“What in the—?!” Kent snapped, ripping the paper off his face in irritation. “How many times do I have to say that no unidentified crafts or nonsense are allowed in my mansion?”

“Hold on, bro. There’s a note. Read it!” Derek urged, pointing at the paper.

Kent snatched the paper, and as his eyes scanned the lines, the frustration on his face dissolved, replaced by a hollow ache of sadness and regret:

Dearest Kent,

I know everything is settled. But the world… it isn’t ready yet. As long as the remaining members of the Black Dragon are out there, people are still in danger. Regarding your proposal… you know how much I love you, but not now. We have to finish what we started.

— Denny Ann

As Kent looked up, a dark silhouette emerged from the obsidian sky—a black helicopter. Denny Ann was at the helm, while David, Marie, Shairmaine, and Christian peered from the backseat, waving down at them.

Before the helicopter ascended into the clouds, Denny Ann offered Kent one final, lingering wink. David waved cheerfully at Derek.

Derek let out a dry, wistful laugh, shaking his head as he watched their friends fade into the distance. “I guess… we’re back to square one, bro!”

Kent merely scratched his head, a small, admiring smile gracing his lips as he watched the aircraft vanish into the infinite night.

“I know it’s not the end…” he whispered into the cooling air. “…but this is a new beginning. See you soon, Violet.”

Stay tuned for the next sequel…
