Chapter One

Emilia’s

POV

“So what seems to be the problem Mr Murphy?” I asked one of my regular patients.

Mr Murphy,an elderly man whose wife died years ago.

“Just some knee problems doc. If its alright with you,could you maybe lessen the subscriptions for this old man?” He says and I nodded checking through his last week’s medical slip.

“Alright Mr Murphy. Looks like I’m gonna need you to go for Dr Rudd’s kiro class. I’ve prescribed you with less pills than before but you still need to take them please” he nodded as I wrote him off with a request slip for Dr Rudds class.

“Have a nice day Mr Murphy” I told the elderly man as I opened the door for him.

After calling in my next patient who was a 17 year old girl. I found out she was pregnant.

Since she was underaged it was my job to inform the police. That wasn’t the only reason I informed the police though,it was also due to the fact that this girl was malnourished and was covered in bruises that were coated with so much concealer.

“Its going to be alright Maya. I understand you don’t want to get into trouble but you should know that what your uncle does to you isn’t right. And as for abortion, don’t listen to what those cards that say the procedure will be easy and painless,trust me its not. I’ve dealt with patients who have gone through abortion, and their lives have never been the same again Maya. I understand that you’re young and you wanna continue your education so you can end up somewhere in life but please,if you need help raising that child,you have my card,give me a call” I told her as she nodded and took my card.

“Thank you Doctor Warner” she whispered as afew police officers walked in and took her to ask her questions.

The town chief sheriff Kent has had the longest crush on me for a very long time.

He was good looking yeah,but all he ever talked about was himself…..

“I’m sorry Kent. I’m really busy right now” I said as I walked out calling in the next patient.

POV

The gorgeous tall shy boy stood up as he followed me back to my office room.

I felt my heart racing when I looked back making sure to see him following me. He has a hoodie on and baggy jeans along with those black and white sneakers.

He had straight cut short blackish brown hair, and the brightest blue eyes that looked physically tired.

“Can I call you Myles?or would you prefer Mr Tanner instead?” He looked up at me,for the first time making me loose myself in his bright blue eyes.

He stuttered terribly as he gulped. “Um…I…M-Myles. J-Just Myles” I smiled. He has a beautiful voice.

“Well,hello Myles. I’m Emilia but call me Emily or just Em” he nodded like he was in a trance.

Ok?

“So what seems to be the problem Myles?” I loved saying his name. The way it rolled off my tongue just made my whole body erupt in tingles.

He blushed. “I…I have asthma attacks and I came to get a refill of my supplies. My mum is a nurse around here but she’s busy and the lady by the reception asked me to take a seat and wait for you” I nodded taking his small oxygen inhaler.

“Alright Myles. I’ll give you new ones cause this one is too old” he looked panicked.

“No Em. I mean,doctor Warner. Its ok,I can’t afford the new one but that one works fine” I frowned.

“Hey,its ok. Look at me,why are crying?” I asked him when I see tears rolling down his cheek. I held his chin as my thumb rubbed his jawline.

“I don’t have the money to pay for that Doctor Em. So please,just give me back the old one” I sighed.

“I assure you it’s fine Myles. I’m here to help so take this new one and the oxygen levels in here is more than the one that can be stored in the old bottle so there you go. Don’t cry Myles” I said softly feeling my heart ache when I see his tear stained face. Wiping his tears I pecked his hair loving the smell of his hair before I pulled away.

“See?all better?” He nodded as he took a deep breath in his new inhaler.

“Anything else Myles?” I asked as he shook his head.

“Alright. Stay out of trouble Myles” I said opening the door.

“C-can I hug you?” I smiled nodding as his figure easily towered over mine even in my heels. I’m 5’9 at 26 years old. I know,pretty short.

I buried my body in his warm chest taking in his smell. He smelled so much like honey shampoo and a hint of manly cologne.

I pulled away when he shoved his hands awkwardly in his pockets.

“Thank you Doctor Em” I nodded with a blush. No one has ever called me Doctor Em.

Its usually Doctor Warner.

But I liked it.

Chapter Three.

Emilia’s

POV

A week had passed and I had just gotten home around 4 in the afternoon after my busy shift. Today I conducted,and led 2 successful surgeries. One from an elderly patient, and the other a teenage boy who was involved in a car accident.

I was exhausted as I entered my apartment. Despite my huge wage and extra tip from families whom I’d privately being hired for their medical needs,I had a rather comfortable small spacious apartment.

I lived with my puppy dog named Mollie. She was a sweetheart,fluffy sandy brown husky hybrid dog with bright silver eyes.

Its now late in the afternoon to make something for dinner,so I just order pizza. I put on some training gear like a pair of gray yoga pants and black sportbra and nike airway runners as I got on my treadmill and started my jog after I put my strawberry blonde curly hair up in ponytail.

I was rather figurous- no bragging intended but yeah.

I wasn’t that kind of girl who was obsessed with my meals about all green and no sugar diets,in fact,I loved eating different varieties of meals.

But when I felt fat,I’d get on the treadmill and burn afew calories for an hour or two or drink some sort of low carb juice.

The sound of the doorbell brings me out of my thoughts as I hold the black sports vest in my hand going to open the door.

My eyes widen when I’m met with those familiar bright blue eyes whom blushed 50 shades of red when his eyes raked over my body and my revealing outfit.

“Um…D-Doctor Em” he says. God,I missed his voice.

Get a grip Emily!

Right.

I was about to ask him why he was here when I saw his jacket Sunny Pizzas. And the box of pizza he was holding.

“Hi. Come in” I said as he blushed and nodded as he walked inside. I quickly pulled on the vest as I looked for my purse,where is it?where the hell is it?!

I looked up when he tapped on my shoulder  making electric shocks spark through my whole arm and he was holding my hot pink Chanel purse.

I blushed taking my purse. “Thanks. How much?” I was counting through some cash when he didn’t answer.

When I looked at him,I was shocked to see him staring at my face. He blushed when he found out I caught him staring at me.

“Um…$17.50” he says and I had him $30 bucks.

“Keep the change” I winked making him blush as he passes me the pizza box.

His hand brushed against mine at the bottom of the pizza box and those familiar tingles came back.

Chapter Four

Emilia’s

POV

Afew weeks had passed and every second I’d close my eyes,those beautiful blue eyes were the same thing I see every time making work st this point bearable.

I wanted him to come back to the hospital. I found out his mother Nurse Tanner was a lady in her late 30’s with a bright smile and those same blue eyes Myles had but her hair was blondish.

But still, I found Myles eyes more mesmerizing than her mother’s,maybe because I’d found out I liked Myles.

Almost any night I’d come home,I’d order pizza just so I’d see him. One night,I asked him if he wanted to hang out with me for the night and he did.

We had so much fine. That’s what I liked about Myles. He was so sweet,he wasn’t like those guys my parents used to set me up with.

Those men were so quick,all they wanted was a quick fuck which wasn’t what I wanted. Its called making love, right? But I didn’t love those men.

With Myles,he was so sweet and gentle. He was also funny when you got to know him.

When I woke up,I found myself on my bed,with a blanket draped over me.

He had locked my apartment for me.

“..tor? Doctor Warner?” I looked up startled from my thoughtful state.

I looked up seeing my assistant.

“Yeah?” She smiled at me. Asia was an Asian American exchange student who was working for me so she could support herself on her own as she struggled to finish her studies in medical school through online studying.

“Myles Tanner is here to see you” even the mention of his name made me smile without even realizing it.

I nodded indicating to send him in. He walked in his as usual baggy nerdy boy outfit as he thanked Asia before Asia closed the door behind him.

“Hi” he says awkwardly.

“Hey,take a seat” I said as I closed my laptop.

“Are you busy?I’ll come back later if you want” I shook my head with a smile.

“Its ok Myles. I wasn’t busy” he sighed in relief as he stood up again and took my hand in his as I stand up.

Ok?what’s he up to?

“Myles?is everything ok?” He nodded and took me to stand up straighter making his tall height tower over mine,like usual. He doesn’t drop my hand like he did last time.

I stared at him,my brows furrowing in confusion.

“Em, I-I wanted to tell you something” I nodded waiting patiently for him with a small gentle smile.

“I-I like you”

I smiled before I got on my tippy toes even in heels and kissed his lips. He seemed shocked as i break the kiss since he wasn’t kissing me back.

Did that mean,he didn’t like me? Why didn’t he kiss me back?

“Can we try that again?” I looked up at his nervous blue eyes.

I nodded as he leaned down and pressed his lips to mine in a gentle kiss. He tasted like fresh peppermint mocha. His arms snaked around my waist as I took his hand leading it to my face,holding his wrist where his warm large caloused hand against my face.

It was a slow,sensual,meaningful kiss before I broke the kiss and hugged him. I could feel his racing heart in his chest as he hugged me, I felt his breath on my neck,as he pulled my hair all to the other side breathing in my scent through my neck and collar bone.

I ran my hand through his messy hair that he hasn’t bothered taking care of,but that’s ok.

“I like you too Myles” I whispered in his ear before I buried my face in his shoulder blade through his black and white check shirt.

“Really?” He asked as I nodded with a smile.

“Yeah” he smiled and hugged me again.

“I’m not really touchy person” he says and I looked at him.

“Do you want me to stop touching you?” I asked him.

“No! I mean,no,you don’t…..I don’t want you to stop but I’m just saying. You make me feel better” he says shrugging his shoulders making me smile with a giggle.

“You make me feel better too Myles. I mean it” I said as I pecked his cheek.

He goes to initiate another kiss and I don’t turn away but our moment is cut short when the small monitor in my pocket beeps telling me there’s an emergency.

“Ugh! Why?” I groaned as I heard him chuckle for the first time.

I stared at him shocked. “What?” He asked confused.

“You just….you chuckled” he rolled his eyes kissing my cheek.

“Yeah?so what….” He said with a teasing smile and I smiled back.

“You’ve never chuckled before around me” I stated as  he smiles that cute dimpled smiled that I grown loving to watch it appear on his cheek when he smiled.

“You’re gonna be late” he says and picks up my check board before we walked out. Before I leave,I leaned up pecking his cheek.

“See you later…” He waved at me as I turned to rush down to ER Unit.

Chapter Six

POV

I don’t know how to wipe off this smile on my face as I entered our double storey wooden cabin that I’ve known as my home for the passed years.

My mom was working late night shifts with Emily.

Emily.

The thought of her just made me smile. I really liked her even though she was older than me,I still liked her.

She made my heart race when she was in the room and she’d make me smile which was new cause growing up,I was the type of kid who didn’t show much emotions.

I didn’t play or get into trouble like my older brothers who are now married. I always liked being alone.

Secretly,I’d get bullied when I was back in middle school and it only got worse when I was in high school.

One more year and I’ll be done with this hell hole called school. Ever since that day,my surprise appointment with Em,I couldn’t stop thinking about her.

She was so gentle and beautiful, sometimes I’d wonder why would she call for pizza delivery just so she could see me. Not that I was complaining, I loved spending time with her.

Around her,I was this whole different person I didn’t even know I was. I had funny personality that I discovered through Em. Her laugh,her smile,her beautiful personality, she made me breathless.

When she kissed me today,I first got scared,cause it was my first real kiss and I got scared. I mean,a beauty like her could definitely have a history for kissing,what if she thought I was a terrible kisser?

But she manages to surprise me every time we meet or when we’re together. My closest sibling, Derek who was older than me by three years and had a wife and a kid on the way was the only one who knew of my crush, Emily.

He encouraged me to tell her how I feel and I’m glad I did.

I was being honest when I said I wasn’t a touchy person. I had a very bad passed with anxiety and depression at a young age and we couldn’t afford for therapy so yeah but spending everyday with Em,I was beginning to feel much better each day.

My dad worked as a mechanic at the auto repair in town along with Derek and Zander my oldest brother. I’m the youngest of three siblings,all boys.

My mother is a nurse who works at the hospital where Emily worked.

Em and I had exchanged phone numbers and I’d ask her to give me a ring or text me if she got home safely when she finished her shift cause I wanted to make sure she was safe.

I said as I gathered my bag and a few patients files to look through before I walked out,the security guards Larry and Mark waving me goodbye as they made sure I got in my car without trouble.

I got home and once I was safely in my apartment,Cookie my puppy came to greet me.

“Hey baby,mommy missed you too” I said as I opened my bag and gave her a treat. She yipped and wagged her tail at the snack before she walked off to the comfort of  her pen.

I fished out my phone.

I blushed at the nickname before I charged my phone and got in bed after changing into knitted sweater, and black tights before I got in bed and pulled the duvet over me to sleep.

Chapter Eight

Emilia’s

POV

It was around mid afternoon when I woke up. I had another late night shift so I was sleeping most of the day.

My phone rings as I picked it up. “Hello?”

“Emily,are you up yet?” I hear Myles said in a nervous voice.

“Yes silly. Why else would I be answering the phone?” I said with laughter in my tone.

“Great. Um…I was hoping if you’d wanted to eat some homemade food I made before you went to work?” I got outve bed.

“Of course, can’t wait” he chuckled.

“Okay,I’ll see you soon. Bye” he says before he cuts the call.

I quickly showered and changed into a summer green dress above my knees with a belt, showing off my tall tan smooth legs as I curled my hair,and put it up in a fancy ponytail with strands framing my face as I heard a knock outside my room.

I walked out after putting on matching brown sandals and opened the door seeing Myles with a small basket of food.

I took the food as he pecks my cheek.

We walked in and Myles picked up Cookie giving her a treat before petting the dog.

“You look beautiful” he says as he pecked my cheek making me blush.

“You don’t look too bad yourself” I said as I patted down the imaginary dust off his button up shirt. He had muscles under those baggy shirts and denim jacket he always wore.

“You like it?” He asked hopeful.

“I love it Myles but… I would still have loved it with you in those baggy clothes,nothing you choose to wear will change that” he smiled and hugged me.

“Can I kiss you?” He asked gently in my ear.

“Yes” I whispered back.

That’s what I liked about Myles. He’d ask even though he knew it was totally fine with me.

He leaned in, his lips inching closer as he kissed me. His hand going to touch my face as his other arm encircled around my waist pulling me closer to him.

The pup barking breaks us from our kiss.

“Go and sit down,I’ll dish out the food” he says and led me to the chair pulling it out for me as I take a seat kissing his cheek.

He dished out our food, as we had casual small talks. With Myles, I didn’t have to try to make the conversation less awkward. It was like an open flow from one topic to another.

“Em?” I hummed in response as I looked up from devouring my meal.

He breathed out anxiously. Dropping his fork, he asked me the question I’d been longing for long.

“Can I take you out on a date?” I nodded with a smile.

“Yes. I’d like that very much” he nodded sighing in relief.

“Alright. Tell me when you’re free and we’ll go,yeah?or what? Do you prefer a particular day when you’re not busy? I was thinking tomorrow but we can go another day if you want or-” He says nervously as I rolled my eyes.

“Myles stop. Tommorow will be perfect since its my day off. Please,breath okay?” he nodded with a calm smile as he took  deep breaths.

“Do you like the food?I made it myself?” He says again and I nodded.

“I love it. Where did you learn to cook?” And just like that, the conversation flowed to the next.

Chapter Nine

POV

I was excited for tomorrow. I’m going on a DATE!!!WITH MYLES!!!!

While I was getting ready my shift,Myles was cleaning the dishes in the kitchen.

I walked back out after getting dressed and tied my hair up in their usual braid and let the rest of my curls fall down my back with a few loose strands left on the frame of my face.

I wore brown dress pants,and white tucked in blouse as I put on my red trenchcoat and Gucci mane handbag along with black stiletto heels.

I walked out seeing Myles putting the last dish back inside the cabinet.

He turned around when he heard the clicking of my heels against the wooden floors.

“Wow…” He says staring at me making me blush.

I walked up to him,internally cursing in my head cause of how short I am even in stiletto heels. I was only managing to reach under his collar bone.

Just how tall is he?

“I’m 6’2. That’s how tall I am” he says in a deep husky voice. I blushed,I said that out loud?

“Yes you did. And you look….wow,I don’t think I want to let you go to work looking this beautiful” he says as he pecks my cheek.

His eyes silently ask me for a kiss and I nod as I kissed his sweet addictive lips. His arms circled around my waist as he surprised me by hoisting me up on the back of the leather couch I’d bought last year.

I wrapped my arms around his waist pulling him closer as he leaned down kissing my lips,deepening the kiss when his tongue licked my bottom lip,the sensation I felt from his lips made me moan before I reluctantly pulled away. He leaned into my neck kissing along my neck when my phone rang breaking us from our moment.

“We should probably go” he says making me nod as I stood back up and got the phone calling from the hospital.

Chapter Ten

POV

I was nervous but still excited. Today,I’d planned the whole day out for me and Em.

She had a day off today for our date and I was planning to take her to my spot which will become ours at sunset.

My grandmother always took me there,she would always tell me to take the woman I’d wanted to marry someday over that spot and it was a sacred place for me that no one else knew about.

I always thought that I wouldn’t find love at this young age but I do now. I love Emilia and only time will tell when its the right time for me to say it.

These passed month that had passed just getting to know her within those few weeks,she became my everything. I had gotten better at my anxiety attacks and I even stood up to my bully for a few minutes-actually 13 minutes before he and his goons beat me up,still,I felt great that I stood up to him even if it was just for a few minutes….

Derek is the only one that knows about my date today with Emily and he covered up for me in work today which I’m really grateful for.

I picked out a few of my mother’s daisies and wrapped a nice bow around it.

Emily likes daisies,she in fact loves them.

I have started engaging myself more in family communication meaning,I’d started talking more openly with my parents and around my siblings,to Derek it was usual,but with Zander it was both new for me cause he scared me a bit.

I’ve also started wearing clothes my size too which feels great for a change.

I texted Em this morning seeing if she was ready and she said she was.

Oh boy,I sure hope I don’t screw this up.

Chapter 11

POV

“Okay Em. You got this” I said to myself.

Oh my god!I’m freaking out! What if he cancelled?!what of something happened to him on his way here?!

What if-

The knock on the door cuts me from my thoughts. I looked through the mirror one more time.

I had on a maroon golden buttoned mini skirt than complemented my tan smooth legs,Zara black boots to match with a black crop top tucked in and black leather jacket.

I picked up my handbag swinging over my shoulder as I ran my hand through my curly blonde hair that I let loose today.

I looked hot.

I go to open the door seeing Myles gulp and gape at me.

“We…I-I… Wow” I giggled seeing his speechless state.

I stared at him. Oh wow!

He had a haircut making him look bad boy type. He had a fitting white shirt on,black jeans, and brown leather jacket and his usual sneakers.

“Woah…who are you?” I asked as I stared at him shamelessly.

“You look hot” he says and I engulfed him in a hug. I giggled when he twirled me around.

“You ready to go?” I nodded at his words.

“I bought you daisies” I smiled and pecked his cheek as I took the flowers in a vase with water in it.

“Thank you” I said as I put the flowers in the vase with water in it before we left.

“So where are we going for this date?” I asked as he entwined our fingers together as we walked downstairs.

“Well,there’s a carnival I wanted to show you tonight but right now,let’s go have breakfast then we’ll hit the movies or whatever you wanna do” I nodded as we walked outside.

“Can we walk to the park after we get like a breakfast takeaway?” He nodded kissing my cheek.

“Of course. Anything for you” he says as we walked to the diner which wasn’t that far of a walk.

Chapter 12

Emilia’s

POV

Here we were sitting by the diner booth ordering our breakfast takeaway. I was laughing at something he said when I hear clapping and the noisy group from the high school jocks table quietened down.

“Well well well,if it isn’t nerdy Myles, acting all good looks and playboy for this blonde beauty right here. What’s your name beautiful?” The guy I don’t recognise says making me frown.

Who the hell does he think he is?!

I see that Myles is quiet as he clenched his jaw and fists. My hands go automatically to his thigh calming him down.

“My name is None ya. Short for none ya business now please leave us alone” I said the slightest bit polite as I hear the guys woowing.

“Yo Tyson!she’s feisty” one of his friends say.

“Yeah man,Just how you like em” Another guy says making me roll my eyes as I see the waitress coming over with brown bags,I’m assuming is our food.

“Come on Myles. Let’s go” I take ahold of his hand in mine and we stand up.

I go to drag him away when the guy Tyson pushed his chest back stopping the both of us.

Myles let’s go of my hand for a brief moment punching Tyson square on the face. Tyson falls back.

“You should have listened to my girlfriend” he says as he paid the waitress and thanked her for the food before we leave.

We walked outside,he turned to me checking me for any bruises. “Are you okay?did he hurt you?” I shook my head with a smile.

“What?” He asked confused as he touched my head with the back of his palm.

“Oh god baby,did you hit your head?” He asked worried and begins to say a bunch of questions when I kiss him, shutting him up.

Once we’ve pulled away,I leaned my forehead against his, “So girlfriend huh?” I said with a smirk as he blushed and pecked my nose.

“Only if you want. I’m not rushing anything with you,am I?” I shook my head.

“I’d love to be your girlfriend” I said and he kissed me again.

Chapter 13

Emilia’s

POV

So after Myles and I had breakfast by the park bench and watched ducks and the autumn leaves against the wind,which was absolutely beautiful, I had taken so many pictures,next up,we were headed for the beach.

We were holding hands,occasionally kissing as we walked through the beach. It was cold out here but since we wore our leather jackets,it was warm enough for us.

I kissed Myles lips as his hands wrapped around my waist bringing me closer to him. We made out for a few minutes,his tongue in my mouth making me moan loudly when he cupped my ass.

I smiled against his lips,this guy’s a fast learner. We took a few pictures at the beach. A few with him kissing my cheek or nuzzling his face in my neck making me laugh cause it tickled like hell.

We bought ice cream on our way around to the park and he playfully licked my ice cream. I smiled mischievously at him.

“You want some of mine?” I asked him looking hopeful hoping he’d fall for my trap. He walked right into it when I batted my eyelashes at him and bit my bottom lip.

Once he got close enough,I shoved the ice cream in his face and nose. He looked at me in disbelief as I cackled up until my stomach started hurting.

He just stood there as he watched me laugh loudly at his face. He had this look in his eyes as he stared at me.

Was it love?admiration maybe?

“Come here” he says and I attempted to run away but he trapped me in his arms and rubbed his nose all over my face and neck and collarbone.

“No!no! Myles!….s-stop it!” I said half giggling as he chuckled rubbing his face all over me.

We got tissues from the same ice cream man and continued wiping off our ice cream when an old man tapped my shoulder,Myles immediately pulled me to his chest possessively.

“I’m sorry to disturb you ma’am, I am a journalist and I was taking pictures of happy young married couples around this area. I took your pictures. You looked very much in love so this is it…” He says as he gives us pictures in strips, of Myles and I. We looked like we were….

Chapter 14

Emilia’s

POV

Myles wanted to take me to his favorite spot. We had just gotten back from the handicraft art jewels.

Myles and I made bracelets with our name carved in it as we gave it to each other. Mine had Myles

name on my bracelet which he made with a small carved ❤ while his had Doc

on it while a small flower was placed on the end of it made from dots.

We were walking up a little valley and I gasped when we reached the top.

“Wow” I said speechless as I looked at the sunset. It was so beautiful from this view.

I let go of Myles hand and looked around the clearing seeing all the trees. Without even knowing,I had tears welling up in my eyes before it slipped and I turned to hug Myles.

“Hey,hey,what’s wrong?do you not like it? Do you wanna leave?” He asked as he rubbed my back. I shook my head against his chest.

“Its so beautiful” I said wiping my tears.

“Really?is that why you’re… crying?” He asked me unsure

“Yeah. I love it Myles. I really do. And-And I liked how you bought me to your spot” I hiccupped as he hugged me.

Tears blurred my eyes as I drove off.

I drove violently into the hospital parking lot. Bumping over the bins around before I parked up and got out. I took notice of the black matching BMW cars parked up around with the  hospital front door guarded by two huge guys in black suits.

“I’m here to see Emily Warner. She got admitted last night” I rushed out the words as I looked around.

“And what are your relations with Doctor Warner?” The male nurse asked.

We’d waited for about afew hours before the doctors walked out with a tired smile.

“Hello,are you Mr Warner?” He asked Jack who nodded.

“Emily’s conditions are critical at this point because she’s trying to fight for two right now. The fetus is a week old and it would be too early to show any form of nausea or signs of pregnancy. The best we can do right now is hope that she wakes up without any difficulty. It had been 6 months later since Emily had been admitted to the hospital. I’d spend every second by her side and I only left to take a shower.

I had also stayed up late every night studying my ass off because finals was nearing. Jack had also been here the whole time and we’d take turns in staying with Emily.

I started working more shifts and I’ve saved more than I did before cause I wanted to provide for my baby when the time came. Emily now had a big round belly and I’d talk to my baby every chance I got.

I’d tell Emily,update her about everything going on around and I have cleaned up her apartment for when she wakes up.

Myles

POV

Afew more weeks had passed and finals were happening this week. The baby was now seven months old.

Since I took Physics and Industrial engineering classes,I had to study extra hard especially since I didn’t to fail and re-sit year 12 again….

It was already enough torture going to that hellhole.

Here I was sitting in Emily’s hospital room. I’d already given Emily her afternoon bath and no I didn’t bath her literally.

I just got this bunch of wash clothes and wiped her body and put on some deodorant and spray on her,combed her hair,the usual.

Here I was sat by her as I read to her about my engineering notes- how fun!

I’d already updated Emily on the latest things,like my job promotion and my third job I got last week. After school,I spent afew hours repairing cars, then my new job right now as a maintenance guy at the Red Rocks Diner then my night job as the pizza delivery guy.

I was so drained out at times but when I thought of Emily’s conditions, I had to remind myself that I needed to be strong for her and my unborn child.

That’s what pushed me on,Emily and our baby.

I’ve started the outlining of my unborn baby’s crib and I’ve invested my money in the trust fund bank so I’d get some more profit when my kid was born.

I’d applied to this Science and Engineering school in New York and I got in but I don’t know how Emily would react to it. If the baby was born and she was going to work,I’d put my dream aside of going to my dream college and raise my child first before anything else.

My first priority was providing for my child,and if it meant that I had to leave my dream for just some time,then I would within a heartbeat cause right now,that little baby and Emily was that mattered.

I was taking down short notes sitting by Emily’s side when the heart monitor beeping faster and louder.

I called for the doctor as I moved my textbooks and notepad to the couch in the room before I go to grab her hand.

A doctor and afew nurses rushed in and I was told to go outside. I paced the hallways in front of the love of my life’s room.

The blinds were drawn like the first time when she was admitted.

POV

About 2 hours and 30 minutes later had passed and I continued pacing the floors, I couldn’t sit still. My family was here and so was Jack.

They bought me dinner but I had lost my appetite a long time ago. I just wanted to know if Emily and my baby was ok.

At seven months old now, I’d grown so attached to that small little person that hadn’t even been in this world. I’d talk to him/her about how their mother was such an amazing,beautiful, hardworking, talented person who saved lives everyday.

The doctors walked out with the nurse and I rushed in after the doctor said she was awake.

I rushed in,running to her side as I engulfed her in a hug. She cried into my shoulder and I had to force my tears to slow down a bit.

I give her some more water but she refused saying she already had some before I walked in. The tube wasn’t in her mouth anymore and the IVs weren’t hooked so much like they were before.

She was still on life support for a little while still to make sure she didn’t have any problems since she woke up.

Its been afew weeks since Emily had been home. I’ve basically moved in with her cause I want to be there for when baby is coming any day now.

“Doctor,she’s 9 inches now” the nurse says.
