PROLOGUE

The Day Justice Died

There was a time when every soul received a fair trial.

Before Heaven welcomed them.

Before Hell claimed them.

Every life, no matter how pure or wicked, stood before the Spirit Court.

No soul was judged unheard.

The courtroom stretched beyond sight.

Marble pillars reached into a sky that held both stars and flames. On one side, radiant wings shimmered beneath a golden dawn. On the other, crimson embers drifted through an endless night.

Between them stood a pair of colossal scales.

Perfectly balanced.

Silent.

Watching.

Thousands of souls filled the hall, each waiting for their name to be called.

Some prayed.

Some wept.

Some trembled.

At the highest seat of the court sat the First Judge.

His silver hair flowed like moonlight over black-and-white judicial robes embroidered with ancient symbols. A heavy tome, chained to his wrist, rested upon the throne.

He did not smile.

He did not frown.

He simply judged.

“Next case.”

A frightened little girl stepped forward.

She couldn’t have been older than eight.

“I… I didn’t mean to…” she whispered through tears.

An angel prosecutor spoke.

“She caused the fire that killed her family.”

A demon observer sneered.

“Intent changes nothing.”

Silence filled the courtroom.

The First Judge opened the Book of Eternal Law.

Its pages turned on their own.

Then…

He stopped.

His crimson eyes narrowed.

One sentence had disappeared.

A law that had existed since the birth of the Spirit Court…

…was gone.

His voice echoed through eternity.

“Who altered the Law?”

No one answered.

The angels looked at one another.

The demons fell strangely quiet.

Even Death lowered its gaze.

The golden scales trembled.

For the first time in history…

They tipped without a verdict.

A crack split the marble floor.

Then another.

And another.

The pillars shook.

The sky itself fractured.

From the pages of the Book of Eternal Law, black ink spread like living shadows.

Words vanished.

Paragraphs rewrote themselves.

Ancient judgments unraveled.

Souls once forgiven screamed as invisible chains dragged them toward Hell.

The guilty walked free.

The innocent disappeared.

The laws of the afterlife were changing.

The First Judge closed the book with a thunderous slam.

“Seal the Spirit Court.”

His command shook every realm.

“Find whoever has rewritten our laws.”

No one moved.

Because every guardian…

Every angel…

Every demon…

Every judge…

Already knew the terrifying truth.

No one had entered the Spirit Court.

No one had stolen the Book.

No one had broken the seal.

Which meant…

The laws were rewriting themselves.

And somewhere beyond the reach of Heaven…

Beyond the depths of Hell…

Someone was preparing to put Justice itself on trial.

The scales shattered.

Darkness swallowed the courtroom.

The first scream echoed.

And the age of perfect judgment came to an end.
