Haze Mendoza had one job, to deceive someone who lost his sight due to an accident.

Haze knew Rykel since they were kids when he was adopted by the latter’s parents. They were often called twins because of their similarities; their physical form, their appearance, and even their voices. But there was only one thing that separates the two of them. Rykel only wanted convenience, and Haze was always the shadow.

When the news of an accident involving Rykel’s boyfriend, Joaquin Vandall , broke free, Haze already knew what was about to happen. Rykel was about to be an exchange student in Japan, taking care of his wealthy and blind boyfriend would never cross his mind.

And just like what he expected, Haze once again became the substitute. The shadow of what Rykel couldn’t be. But this time, it was different. Haze wouldn’t be just a mere shadow, he needed to be present, he needed to deceive someone.

What made him think that it’d be a success was the sole reason that Joaquin was blind. He wouldn’t be able to tell that the person taking care of him was not his real partner, who chose to fly overseas. Haze and Rykel’s voices also were an exact replica of each other, like a duplicated mantra.

But with Joaquin’s visions vague, would a mere touch be enough to tell the difference?
